Radio Renaissance - Jared Taylor - Smearing Columbus: No Holidays for White Men Aired: 2021-02-18 Duration: 07:08 === Celebrating Indigenous People's Day (05:50) === [00:00:03] Hello, I'm Jared Taylor with American Renaissance. [00:00:07] Did you celebrate Columbus Day? [00:00:10] Well, enjoy it while you can. [00:00:12] A lot of cities don't celebrate it anymore. [00:00:15] This year, even the city of Columbus, Ohio, which is named after him, said it just couldn't afford a celebration. [00:00:23] The fashionable thing is to celebrate Indigenous People's Day instead. [00:00:28] Recently, Los Angeles, Cincinnati, Boise, and Detroit all dropped Columbus for an Indigenous People's Day. [00:00:36] When Somerville, Massachusetts announced the switch in September, Mayor Joe Curtatoni explained that, quote, Columbus Day is a relic of an outdated and oversimplified version of history. [00:00:49] He said he's Italian-American, and he'd like to be proud of Columbus, but that would be like Southerners being proud of the Confederacy. [00:00:58] Well, did you hear that, Governor of New York, Andrew Cuomo? [00:01:02] Mr. Cuomo, also Italian-American, says that the statue of Columbus in New York City will stay for as long as he's in office. [00:01:10] And the mayor of New York, Bill de Blasio, yet another Italian-American, is determined to keep the statue too. [00:01:18] He says Columbus is completely different from, say, Robert E. Lee. [00:01:23] I don't see why. [00:01:24] If Italians can have their genocidal, racist, disease-spreading, imperialist, slave-driver, why can't Southerners have their Christian soldier? [00:01:34] Mr. Cuomo and Mr. de Blasio will learn soon enough that you can't carve out exceptions for any dead white man. [00:01:44] Statues of Columbus have been taking a real beating. [00:01:47] Here's the one in Central Park in New York. [00:01:50] Note the blood on his hands. [00:01:52] The one in Bridgeport, Connecticut has kill the colonizer along with the red treatment. [00:01:57] Here's Columbus in Buffalo, New York in Columbus Park. [00:02:02] And here he is in downtown Detroit with a tomahawk stuck in his head. [00:02:06] Here's more red paint in Houston and also in Richmond, Virginia. [00:02:11] I think you get the idea. [00:02:13] And don't worry, it's not anti-Italian prejudice. [00:02:17] People go after Norse explorers, too. [00:02:20] In Minnesota, Leif Erikson's statue had the words Discoverer of America crossed off the base. [00:02:26] In Philadelphia, a statue of Thorfin Karlsfenny that had stood there for nearly a century was pitched into the river. [00:02:36] Karlsfenny was the father of the first white child born in North America. [00:02:41] There's now a movement to junk the entire federal Columbus Day holiday and whoop up indigenous peoples instead. [00:02:48] And have you noticed that whenever something honors a white person and gets abolished, it's always replaced with the opposite? [00:02:56] When you ditch Columbus, you celebrate Indians. [00:02:59] When you take down Robert E. Lee, you put up Frederick Douglass. [00:03:03] If Andy Jackson's got to go, you have to replace him with Harriet Tubman. [00:03:08] Franklin Roosevelt established the Columbus holiday in 1937. [00:03:13] In a 1940 statement he said, "Columbus began a great movement of people [00:03:17] Yeah, back in those days, immigrants meant Europeans. [00:03:24] But for the Columbus haters, everything that has happened since 1492 is a disaster. [00:03:32] Renaming Columbus Day, Indigenous Peoples' Day, It implies that white people should never have come here. [00:03:39] But someone was going to take over. [00:03:41] The place was still in the Stone Age. [00:03:44] Do Columbus haters think the country would be better off if the Chinese or the Turks had moved in? [00:03:51] Europeans, white people, turned a wilderness into the richest, most powerful nation on earth. [00:03:57] And what's our reward? [00:03:59] We're supposed to put the country up for grabs. [00:04:02] Here's the hip new slogan. [00:04:04] No one is illegal on stolen land. [00:04:08] You see, it was very bad for us to take the land from the Indians, but it's good for Nigerians and Vietnamese to take it from us. [00:04:17] Can someone explain that to me? [00:04:19] So, what happens when we dump Columbus Day and celebrate Indigenous Peoples Day instead? [00:04:26] Are we going to think pious thoughts about the Blackfeet and the Kickapoo? [00:04:31] Well, A few people in headdresses are going to be trotted out for a parade, but the new holiday has different purposes. [00:04:38] The first, of course, is to take a poke at yet another dead white man. [00:04:43] But the second is to take a poke at all white Americans by telling them the country doesn't belong to them. [00:04:49] And the very same people who want to boot Columbus are the ones who think the country belongs to anyone from anywhere who can manage to sneak in. [00:04:59] They want to celebrate Indians, And then stuff the country with Haitians and Pakistanis and Vietnamese? [00:05:05] How does that help the Indians? [00:05:07] We're back to the same old con game. [00:05:11] It was evil for white people to come here, but it's great for everyone else. [00:05:17] If Columbus is a villain, all white people are villains. [00:05:21] Supreme Court Justice Roger Taney, who sat outside the Maryland State House since 1872, had to go. [00:05:31] Dr. James Sims, the father of gynecology, was kicked off of Central Park in New York City. === Whites Conquered The Continent (01:29) === [00:05:39] Even President William McKinley got the boot from the central square of Arcata, California. [00:05:46] What did McKinley do? [00:05:49] And here's what recently happened to Abraham Lincoln in a black neighborhood in Chicago. [00:05:54] That statue has taken such a beating over the years, the city has just taken it away. [00:05:59] So much for the great emancipator. [00:06:02] The United States was built by pioneers, settlers, farmers, engineers. [00:06:08] Whites built a country that attracts people from all over the world. [00:06:12] So you think it was wrong for us to have come? [00:06:15] Well, fine. [00:06:15] Would all those newcomers who love to tell us how awful we are want to stay if the place was still in Stone Age? [00:06:23] Yes, we conquered the continent. [00:06:26] That's how history works. [00:06:29] Comanche friend David Yeagley used to say, Whites are unique in the respect they pay to the people they defeat. [00:06:37] Look at all the Indian names of states, cities, rivers, of military helicopters, and yes, sports teams. [00:06:46] They are high tribute to a defeated enemy. [00:06:49] Do you see any of that spirit in the people who tear down our statues, insult our heroes, and want our country? [00:06:56] No. Columbus and a few statues. [00:07:01] It's a denial of every shred of American culture, tradition, and history that can be traced to whites.
