[00:05:57]  I think they paused it in 1940 because of the Second World War.

[00:06:05]  And then the next time they paused it was 2020 as a result of COVID-19.
[00:06:11]  So this is, if my calculations are correct, I do believe they are.
[00:06:15]  This is the first Olympics since 2016.
[00:06:19]  And it is also the first Olympics since the first Paul's since the Second World War.
[00:06:23]  Now, usually there's quite a few different countries that would like to host the Olympics.
[00:06:28]  However, because it's such a spectacle and so many people show up, you have to build structures basically specifically suited for the task of hosting the Olympics.
[00:06:39]  And every time the Olympics gets hosted by a country, it's a big scandal because they build all these massive, massive auditoriums for Olympics events.
[00:06:49]  And then they just rot and decay.
[00:06:51]  I think the Brazil one was the last one that happened.
[00:06:53]  That was 2016, I think.
[00:06:55]  I think all the stadiums that they built, none of them get used.
[00:06:59]  They might host an event like once a year, Tops, but they don't make their money back.

[00:07:07]  So the only two cities willing to host the event at this point in time are Paris, France, and Los Angeles.
[00:07:16]  And that's because these are the two urban centers with a population capable of actually supporting these auditoriums with the transportation structure extant to support moving people to and from these events and also which have the necessary decay to support rotting structures in their cities.
[00:07:39]  So I think they're going to just flip-flop between Paris and Los Angeles moving forward.
[00:07:44]  Beijing also had a stadium at some point and they did not want to ever host the Olympics again.
[00:07:50]  I think even in Beijing, which is like a massive, massive city with like a million billion people living there, they have no use for it.
[00:07:58]  They built all this shit and they're like, wow, that's a waste of fucking taxpayer dollar.

[00:11:19]  An 11-year-old boy with a moderate understanding of computers is capable of launching a swatting for hire cryptocurrency business that's actually effective.
[00:11:30]  He can trick police into armed responses to innocent people's homes and places of work at any time.
[00:11:38]  And we just have like no recourse against this.
[00:11:40]  We have no ability to like to stop this, to like mark certain people as like at risk or like disarm these calls or whatever.

[00:12:54]  Now, you always thought, ah, I don't have to worry about DRM and advertisements and all this nonsense because I buy paperback books.
[00:13:06]  I buy physical copies.
[00:13:08]  Well, what you're looking at here, chat, is a comic book whose final page is a QR code.
[00:13:16]  What is the purpose of this QR code?
[00:13:18]  The QR code is a unique identifier unique to that book that when scanned allows you to create a Marvel account so that you may add the book to your digital library and then you can see the last page of this book.
[00:13:37]  But because the identifier is unique to that book, it number one prevents people from adding copies of books to their library that they haven't bought.
[00:13:46]  Number two, it stops people from registering the same book twice.
[00:13:49]  So you can say, oh, I enjoyed from the ashes, a noob beginning the X-Men.
[00:13:57]  And I, and I'm done with this.
[00:13:59]  I'm going to go give it to my friend.
[00:14:02]  Your friend will read the book and then get to the QR code and attempt to scan it and be told, sorry, this book was already registered.
[00:14:10]  You can't register it yourself.
[00:14:12]  And then you'll never know how your book reads until your friend opens his Marvel.com account, screencaps the fucking page and sends it to you.
[00:14:20]  Which, of course, would be a violation of the United States Copyright Act of 1983.

[00:15:08]  Because if a scanner scans his comic book, registers the comic book, takes the page off of his Marvel.com website, adds it to the PDF file, and then uploads it to a torrent site.
[00:15:21]  Well, that scan is now a whole and complete copy of the book that can be read at any time without an internet connection on any device of your choosing, and it can be shared freely without any duplication issues.
[00:15:32]  So once again, the media industry tries to clamp down on something and makes piracy the more convenient and more sensible option.
[00:15:41]  And I don't know why they do this.
[00:15:43]  Oh, wait, I do know why.
[00:15:44]  It's because it makes them more money.
[00:15:46]  And more importantly, I think even more than just like preventing people from sharing comic books, I don't think they care about that.

[00:16:00]  You get email newsletters from the company and they'll be like, oh, we're launching a digital only thing.
[00:16:08]  If you want to see that, you can subscribe to Marvel Plus and you can get access to, we're going to put a rotation of 50 different comic books that we've scanned from our archives.
[00:16:18]  It changes every month.
[00:16:20]  And then we'll sometimes give you exclusive access to digital only comic books.
[00:16:24]  They want to get you on that recurring trough.
[00:16:27]  They want to get you schlopped in, giving them, you know, $15 a month for your Marvel account because subscriptions are awesome.
[00:16:35]  When you have a subscription base, when you have a consumer base that's not buying products, they're instead giving you money every month.
[00:16:43]  That's actually really great for your books.
[00:16:45]  Very easy to show your income trends.
[00:16:48]  People don't unsubscribe very often unless something happens.
[00:16:54]  But the number of people who unsubscribe is very limited.
[00:16:57]  People will stay subscribed for like 20 plus years without unsubscribing.
[00:17:01]  So that's their end goal.
[00:17:02]  I'm sure of it, is that they want to get people who read comic books into a subscription game that they own so that they can be the Netflix of comics or whatever the fuck, Western Comics.
[00:17:11]  And that's what they're trying to lead you to.

[00:17:16]  Before I get into this, Google is continuing their anti-ad block campaign.
[00:17:23]  So they've been trying desperately to break SmartTube for your TV.
[00:17:27]  They've been trying to break uBlock Origin.
[00:17:29]  I'm noticing now that I get ads loaded into videos and then it doesn't play.
[00:17:35]  The ad block is somehow able to stop it from playing.
[00:17:38]  And then if I refresh, I don't see the ad.
[00:17:40]  So they're trying really hard to break the ad blockers to the point where the ad blockers are like loading in new features all the time.
[00:17:51]  And it's really interesting because they, if you don't remember, there was a controversy not too long ago where Google tried to has rolled out browser add-on API like 2.0 and then they for Chromium.
[00:18:08]  And then they've tried to deprecate the version one.
[00:18:11]  But the biggest change that they've made to the API is that it's now much harder to block ads.
[00:18:16]  Like they've specifically targeted the API endpoints that ad blockers use to stop ads from ever loading.
[00:18:23]  And they're trying to get rid of that on Chromium, which is actually probably a good thing because what does that do?
[00:18:30]  Well, that drives people to Brave, which does have its own ad blocker thing and supports the original API endpoints.
[00:18:36]  And their browser has their own.
[00:18:37]  The guy that did some research into this because I was curious about uBlock Origin.
[00:18:42]  UBlock Origin is the real like OG actually use uBlock Origin for ad blocking.
[00:18:48]  I did some research.
[00:18:49]  I was surprised to see that their project was not sponsored.
[00:18:52]  Most of the ad blocking repos have ways to support them on Patreon and GitHub for those interested in doing that.
[00:18:59]  But uBlock Origin didn't.
[00:19:01]  I thought that's strange.
[00:19:02]  It's a very popular add-on.
[00:19:03]  They don't take even donations.
[00:19:04]  And I figured out that the guy doing the releases works for Brave.
[00:19:08]  So uBlock Origin is like the default kit installed into Brave and financially supported by the Brave Foundation, which is why they don't have a Patreon because it's like effectively a part of the product that Brave rolls out.
[00:19:22]  So I thought that was very funny.
[00:19:25]  And obviously these kinds of things are going to drive more people into alternative browsers, which is ultimately the end goal, a good outcome of what I'm going to refer to as the ad block wars, where Google tries to use its monopoly to end ad blockers.
[00:19:42]  So this, this also, this article that I have in front of me that I'm not actually addressed yet, requires a little bit of explanation, so bear with me.

[00:19:55]  And if I go to this and I just type in at the end, right on the root, robots.txt.

[00:20:03]  So, this is 404media.co, and this is their robots.txt.
[00:20:10]  So, this is the same website as that hosts this article.
[00:20:13]  And these robot.txt files include a list of instructions that any kind of automated web crawler is supposed to look up first and inform their decisions based off of.
[00:20:27]  And this one that they have is super simple.
[00:20:30]  It says user agent GPT bot, which I assume would be like a chat GPT.
[00:20:35]  I'm going to assume that's an open AI, the GPT bot for OpenAI's products.
[00:20:40]  And then it says disallow, and then there's the root directory.
[00:20:43]  So that basically says the OpenAI search crawler GPT bot is not allowed to access this website at all.
[00:20:52]  But all other crawlers are allowed to.
[00:20:54]  So 404 Media, their writers apparently did not want their articles being this is what I'm assuming based off of this.
[00:21:01]  The authors of this site don't want their articles fed into GPT for the Open AI products.
[00:21:08]  So they're basically saying anything except GPT bot is allowed to access these articles, which is pretty interesting.
[00:21:15]  So what Reddit has done is they have taken this file right here.

[00:22:54]  These robot text is trying to stop the crawler from seeing this and seeing content on the page and developing little blurbs at the bottom.

[00:23:09]  But Google has special permission to continue to access Reddit.
[00:23:13]  So they're the only search engine that is going to be allowed to develop results from Reddit like this that's useful to the search engine.
[00:23:24]  And the reason for that is really obvious.
[00:23:27]  The article goes on to say, look, their blurb even says no AI scrapers.
[00:23:32]  We don't use AI to write our articles.
[00:23:34]  They really don't like AI for journalism.
[00:23:38]  Google is paying Reddit a $70 million a year deal for exclusive access to their API for accessing their articles.
[00:23:47]  So now there is more collaboration between them where not only are they paying for more specific access to Reddit content and they are using that to build their Gemini machine learning.
[00:23:59]  So basically every post made to Reddit ever is going to be fed into Google's Gemini using their project so that basically all knowledge that's been shared on Reddit is therefore going to inform the Gemini chat robot for Google's product.
[00:24:13]  And no other company is allowed this access.
[00:24:15]  And you may have heard articles and saw videos about how important Reddit is to Google.
[00:24:22]  The most popular search term on Google right now is Reddit because there's effectively like a handful of platforms.
[00:24:32]  You have Facebook, you have TikTok, you have YouTube, and you have Reddit.
[00:24:37]  So you go to Google and you're trying to figure out how to grow a cactus.
[00:24:41]  Well, you try to type in how to grow a cactus and then you get like premiumpotters.com.
[00:24:46]  Top five cactus blends that are going to grow best in your environment.
[00:24:51]  And then like everyone is like an Amazon link.
[00:24:53]  It's like, my grandmother grew this cactus in her windowsill and it lasted for 40 years.
[00:24:59]  I remember every day coming home from school and seeing this cactus.
[00:25:02]  And it's like nobody, nobody fucking cares, but all that information is there because it works on the search engines.
[00:25:07]  So you say, like, fuck it.
[00:25:09]  This doesn't inform me on how to grow a fucking cactus.
[00:25:11]  So you type in Reddit, how to grow a cactus, and then bam, our cactus, how to grow a cactus and our cactus.
[00:25:18]  And then look, even the little blurb, buy a bag of perlite or fine lava rot from the garden center and mix a cactus soil from the shop with a 50-50 or higher with more perlite ratio.
[00:25:27]  And that's what works best for me in Ireland, which is a low sunlight environment.

[00:25:37]  Well, now Google has realized this and has realized that their product is heavily dependent on information from Reddit.
[00:25:44]  So they bought rights to Reddit's content and they're getting it so that no other search engine is allowed to crawl Reddit.
[00:25:51]  So that when you type in how to grow a cactus, you're just going to get a page that says tips how to grow a cactus and then says Reddit does not allow us to read the page.
[00:25:59]  So therefore, their information is less useful.
[00:26:02]  And if you type it into Copilot, how to grow a fucking cactus, you're not going to get information from Reddit, which could be very useful, like in this, especially if I say, like, I want to grow it in a low-light climate like Ireland.
[00:26:12]  But the Gemini chat GPT is going to be able to.
[00:26:16]  And keep in mind that Microsoft has left OpenAI because of antitrust concerns.
[00:26:23]  So now Microsoft and Bing, which has had a huge upsurge in usability and actual use after the launch of Copilot, is now being stabbed in the back directly by this amalgamation of Fagman, OpenAI investors, and also Reddit itself, which is trying to sabotage its search results.
[00:26:44]  And an AI product, which is now the current in vogue thing and is very useful, actually.

[00:26:54]  The internet, the uppercase I internet, is becoming smaller and smaller every year.

[00:28:13]  Matthew Prince and Cloudflare, despite having one of the largest monopolies on the internet today, which is effectively 20% of all websites use Cloudflare for DDoS mitigation.
[00:28:24]  My conspiracy, as I've said in the past, is that it would be very possible for the internet to develop a once and for all cure to DDoS attacks.
[00:28:35]  However, it's against the interest of security company providers to actually solve DDoS attacks, so they just choose not to.
[00:28:41]  And Cloudflare, therefore, has a de facto monopoly on this, which is why everything from mom's bakery to federal government websites will greet you with the Cloudflare anti-DDoS page or CAPTCHA upon visiting because it's the easiest, most effective way to deal with DDoS attacks.
[00:29:00]  And as a nice little added bonus, because of how web servers work and because of how security works, when you access a Cloudflare website that greets you with an anti-DDoS page, or really anytime you access any website on Cloudflare with very limited exception, you are going to be terminating your SSL certificate with them, which means that when you access x.com or whatever, not x.com.
[00:29:27]  I'm using that as a placeholder, but there's literally a site called X now.
[00:29:30]  The access for whatever, for the route for Tor.com, I know that they use Cloudflare or Keffels.gg uses Cloudflare, funny enough.
[00:29:38]  What happens is that you ask Cloudflare for that page.
[00:29:41]  The request is processed by Cloudflare, which means that your request is decrypted.
[00:29:46]  The request is passed along to the endpoint, which could be whatever website that you're trying to access.
[00:29:51]  And then the response is returned to Cloudflare, either unencrypted or encrypted.
[00:29:55]  But Cloudflare will decrypt that response if it is encrypted regardless, and then pass that along to you, encrypted again with a different certificate.
[00:30:04]  So Cloudflare is an enormous man-in-the-middle attack.
[00:30:10]  They can read everything to and from every website protected by Cloudflare.
[00:30:16]  And Cloudflare is effectively a requirement to host any kind of website online at this point in time, unless you're an enterprise company that can handle a DDoS attack on your own, which makes it a very useful thing if for whatever reason a company wanted to snoop on internet traffic, all they would have to do is put a eavesdropper into a closet in Cloudflare's headquarters,
[00:30:40]  and they would suddenly have access to everything sent and received to any website that's behind Cloudflare's DDoS protection.
[00:30:47]  Cloudflare is actually getting more aggressive with its monopoly.
[00:30:51]  So at some point in recent history, two things have happened that were very interesting to me as somebody who pays a lot of attention to the health of the internet.
[00:31:00]  First of all, when we were bouncing around between registrars for domain names, because our domain name registrars were being attacked by Liz Fong Jones and other people associated with DropKiwiFarms, I was having to try and find a provider on short notice willing to do a KiwiFarms domain.
[00:31:17]  One of my thoughts was Cloudflare.
[00:31:19]  After we got booted off of Dreamhost after 10 years, we moved kiwifarms.net to Cloudflare, who of course also dropped us.
[00:31:28]  And not only did they drop us, they made us move all of our domains on very short notice to a different registrar.
[00:31:34]  And I considered Google, because Google also ran its own domain registrar, but guess what Google did with its domain registrar?
[00:31:41]  It closed it.
[00:31:43]  Google completely and totally closed one of its own products, which I thought was a phenomenal product.
[00:31:50]  Google Domains was a great thing, but for some reason they closed it.
[00:31:55]  And there was some speculation that it's antitrust.
[00:31:58]  However, I have a different theory on this.
[00:32:01]  I believe that they closed the domain name product because they were afraid of having to make decisions about what domains they would and would not host.
[00:32:13]  Because the scandal of Google deciding what websites can be online and or the scandal of Google hosting unsavory websites would probably be a bigger detriment to their bottom line than all the money they made off being a domain registrar because being a domain registrar is a very low profit margin business.
[00:32:33]  Like domain registrars basically sell domains for no profit whatsoever.
[00:32:38]  And then they try to get you to buy shit from them as your domain registrar.
[00:32:42]  Cloudflare, for instance, is a great example of this.
[00:32:48]  So after Google closed theirs, now Cloudflare is doing this.
[00:32:52]  As I mentioned, Cloudflare has a anti-DDoS product and they have several tiers.
[00:32:58]  You have free, which almost everyone uses.
[00:33:01]  You have business or no, you have like personal, which is like $20 a month, and you don't really get that much for it.
[00:33:09]  And then you have business.
[00:33:11]  Business jumps from $20 a month to $200 a month.
[00:33:16]  And yes, KiwiFarms, here's a really funny thing about Cloudflare that pisses me off to this day.
[00:33:21]  When we were using Cloudflare, I'd been giving them $200 a month for years.
[00:33:30]  And during the drop KiwiFarm stuff, when we were going down all the time, I changed our error page on Cloudflare with just some general information.
[00:33:39]  And then I also threw in a Bitcoin link at the bottom in case you wanted to donate to us during downtime to help support getting the site back up.
[00:33:46]  Cloudflare terminated my business subscription with them.
[00:33:50]  And then citing the Bitcoin thing, you're not allowed to crowdfund using their pages.
[00:33:57]  So we're terminating your business relationship.
[00:33:59]  Then after we got banned, I knew several people on enterprise who had raised, who were paying the $2,000 a month package, which is where Cloudflare Enterprise starts.
[00:34:10]  Those people raised as a voice of concern the KiwiFarm stuff.
[00:34:16]  And the fucking salespeople lied to them and said that we did not pay.
[00:34:22]  We were using the Cloudflare free plan and we weren't, I was not an enterprise customer.
[00:34:26]  I was giving them $200 a month every fucking month without fail for years.
[00:34:30]  And they fucking canceled it and then lied and said I wasn't a paying customer.
[00:34:34]  That's how fucking disgusting Cloudflare is in case you're curious.

[00:34:40]  The change that they've made is that if you use Cloudflare as a registrar, you must also use them at their core product.
[00:34:48]  So you can no longer use Cloudflare just as a registrar, which I assume is also a cost, like a mitigation technique.
[00:34:58]  Like you can't park a domain on us and then host controversial service that you don't host through us unless you pay us $200 a month.

[00:35:08]  Oh, you have to, yeah, you have to be the $200 business plan.
[00:35:11]  So there is specific records called NS records.
[00:35:17]  And those are the name server records.
[00:35:20]  When you register a domain with a registrar, like Google, there are two ways that you can store records on them, which instruct people how to load the website.
[00:35:32]  You can either put all your records directly on that registrar, which often hosts its own DNS, or you can give them different name server records, which point to a different service.
[00:35:41]  And that's what we do.
[00:35:43]  Kiwifarms.st is registered with NIC.st, which is managed directly by Sao Tome and Principe off the coast of West Africa.
[00:35:52]  And then we give them an NS record that points to DNS pod, which is a 10 cent enterprise DNS in mainland China.
[00:36:01]  So if you open the Kiwi Farms for the first time, you go, knock, knock, Sao Tome, and Principe, hello, where is this website?
[00:36:09]  And then it goes, I don't know, ask China.
[00:36:11]  So it gives you the NS records.
[00:36:13]  And then you say, knock, knock, Nihao, where is the Kiwi Farms?
[00:36:20]  And they go, Nihao, here you go.
[00:36:22]  And then they give you the records.
[00:36:23]  And then it says, okay, you have a choice of Romania, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Sweden, the United States, and Canada.
[00:36:33]  Pick your poison.
[00:36:35]  And then you just pick one at random, basically.
[00:36:37]  That's how it works.
[00:36:38]  They're trying to make it so that if you have a domain registered with them, you must use Cloudflare to give the NS records a change.
[00:36:44]  So otherwise, you have to use Cloudflare for all your domain records, which encourages you to use Cloudflare or move your domains or not use them unless you intend to use Cloudflare.
[00:36:55]  So there are some good reasons why you would want to register with Cloudflare and then not use Cloudflare.

[01:41:03]  A few minutes ago, I was banned permanently from the sub with the comment I made on this sub being the reason why.
[01:41:10]  Parentheses, they literally linked it in the message.
[01:41:12]  When I asked what specific rule I broke, I was told it was against their anti-bigotry rule, which prohibits racism, sexism, transphobia, etc.
[01:41:21]  Then they linked another comment I made on here with the caption, you know what you did and muted me.
[01:41:26]  Based on these events, it would appear a large that large sub jannies are aware of the activity on their subs and are also attempting to shut down criticism of it.
