| People are calling it Black Monday. | |
| Markets are in free fall collapse. | |
| We have riots breaking out across the United Kingdom, and we have just a whole slew of stories, including sirens being activated across Israel as Iran has began a series of comprehensive airstrikes. | |
| And that's just the tip of the iceberg, really. | |
| We have so much more going on. | |
| We're going to dive into all of these stories, but I hope you guys had a good weekend. | |
| Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play? | |
| Yeah, looks like U.S. | |
| markets are going to be crashing as well. | |
| And, of course, three weeks later, we still have no idea about the motivation and the allowance of the attempted assassination on Donald J. Trump. | |
| So, really, we're doing pretty well, right? | |
| Hmm. | |
| It's all looking peachy. | |
| No, the big stories are essentially as follows. | |
| Black Monday. | |
| NASDAQ's already down over 400 points and that was at 1.45 a.m. | |
| last night. | |
| It could be even lower now as we speak. | |
| What they're saying now is that there is a global meltdown which is being spurred apparently by the Bank of Japan's decision to hike rates. | |
| Which led to a crash in the value of the Nikkei Index, which is the Japanese market there. | |
| This has, you know, created a an insane storm of sell-offs, which are going to continue, it seems, through today and probably throughout the week. | |
| And this could be the start of another financial collapse. | |
| But, you know, as we as we go into this fun time of, you know, free fall collapse, It's worth noting the timing here of everything, right? | |
| Because if there is one thing that these globalist, bankster cartels do well, it's they know how to manipulate our attention, and they know how to pull the rug. | |
| And, you know, I always thought they would pull the rug when Trump got into office, but now that I think about it a little bit more, and it's probably happening, it actually would make more sense for them to do it while they have | |
| They're regime puppets in control of the Fed and the White House, because that way they can enrich themselves by pulling the rug out and not having to face any consequences for all of the insider trading that's sure to take place, all of the short positions which will sure to have been put in just in time for the crash, and so on. | |
| So, you know, call me a conspiracy theorist, call me conspiratorial-minded, but it is always something to understand when you see how the world actually works, right? | |
| I mean, this is how it works. | |
| The U.S. | |
| futures markets are sharply lower. | |
| Tech's plunging. | |
| And a lot of this may be because of AI. | |
| A lot of the AI's bots are, you know, working full time to try to make sure that the big corporations don't get hit. | |
| But we take full brunt of it, right? | |
| R401K, yeah, might as well say goodbye to that. | |
| Because here's the thing. | |
| I mean, you look at, it all started with, Companies like BlackRock, and they had these highly advanced AI systems that do the trading for them, essentially. | |
| And they study markets, and they can make trade decisions quicker than we can even fathom that a trade is about to be made. | |
| And all of those systems are going to work in congruence right now to trade all the market away before we even have a chance to get up and hit the sell button on anything if we are going to sell. | |
| So... | |
| And the funny thing is that it should be no surprise to anyone who's been paying attention that this is and was the plan from the beginning. | |
| We've said market collapses on the The disaster menu, if you will, that they had in store for us. | |
| But we weren't sure exactly when. | |
| I thought maybe they would pull the rug out on Trump and then blame it on him. | |
| But like I said, as I thought about it, they would need to do it while Biden, the puppet, and Harris, the puppet, are still in office. | |
| Because that way, again, they can get away with all their schemes and scams. | |
| And then They'll dump this on Trump's lap when he becomes president. | |
| Here's a completely broken economy. | |
| Good luck with that. | |
| I hate to say it, but that's where we are. | |
| It seems like it may only get worse from here. | |
| A lot of people are not even aware that any of this is happening. | |
| Blissfully ignorant, I guess, going about their day-to-day lives. | |
| And, you know, what's the, you know, what's the latest TikTok trender saying about clothing? | |
| Or, you know, what's the latest satanic, you know, Hollywood actor or musician programming me to think about You know, diversity, equity and inclusion, because that that's a very important thing. | |
| Or what's my sports team doing? | |
| Right? | |
| What's my sports team doing? | |
| What are those athletes going to do with the, you know, ball when they get it next year? | |
| Or, you know, and I look, I'm not a I like sports because I like teamwork. | |
| And I like seeing you know, I'm not against it. | |
| But You have to be aware at least that it is a major distraction from the truth. | |
| They don't want you to see the ugly world, they want you to see the pretty shiny lights and the Pepsi ads and the, you know, guys drinking Gatorade while they throw a ball to each other and put it in a hoop or kick it through a field goal. | |
| And that's just the way the world works. | |
| I don't really, I'm almost agnostic toward it at this point because I don't really have opinion one way or the other it just is what it is sports are fine i guess if you if you like the entertainment value um but also it is a great distraction some people let it you know encompass their whole life and those are the people i worry about because they get so wrapped up in their sport team and it's not just sports people | |
| it's it's people with the hollywood actors or the you know the musicians and uh or the now the the youtubers and and social media influencers They get so wrapped up, and the streamers are a big thing. | |
| If you guys are older, like I am, I'm not too old, but old enough to, you know, Kind of be on the outside looking in with regard to the streaming culture, but streaming's a big thing with the youth, and streamers, like today, Trump's gonna sit down with this guy named Aiden Ross, who's, I guess, a very big streamer, and if you go, well, what the hell is streaming, Craig? | |
| It's kind of what you think it is. | |
| It's, it's live streaming, but you're basically like following yourself around with a camera your whole life. | |
| So your whole life is on video for the whole world to see, and then you're, you know, the world will interact with you based on the chat. | |
| It's, I don't know how to describe it other than that, but it's very popular with younger people. | |
| Started off with people playing video games, now it's just people, you know, wandering around in public acting like degenerates. | |

| It looks like the S&P futures, Nasdaq futures, Dow Jones futures, all down Right now, NASDAQ at 5% down, S&P at 3.87% down, and the Dow Jones at 2.76% down. | |
| Now, don't ask me to give you an idea of what all that means. | |
| I'm not an economist. | |
| However, I do know that negative is bad, and red is bad, and that amount of percentage is not good. | |
| You know, I'm kind of a knuckle-dragging Neanderthal when it comes to the markets. | |
| I know enough to be dangerous, and that's the truth of it. | |
| But if you want to hear more about the markets, I'm sure this will be a hot topic on Patriot Reader NewsHour coming up next with Joe Jankwit. | |
| He's probably going to break it down in much better terms than I can. | |
| However, I will say, stock market futures are diving. | |
| And it looks like it has a lot to do with what's happened in Japan. | |
| Now, you know, will this be the catalyst that starts the big collapse that we all are fearing? | |

| They'll, you know, artificially re-inflate the bubble as they always do. | |
| They do this every now and then so they have a dip so they can buy back in and, you know, make more money. | |

| We all know it's ebbs and flows, but Um, you know, there are so many other things happening at the same time that it is rather worrisome to some people who are looking around saying, okay, well, this might be, this might be the start of something bad. | |
| Maybe, maybe not. | |
| You know, the election coming up. | |
| Would dictate in my mind that they would want things to be normalized and stable as much as they could, because that would look good on the incumbent party, which in turn would lead to a more favorable result in the November election for the incumbent party, who we all know is the party of the globalists. | |
| And if we know one thing, we know the globalists want the incumbent party to stay in control. | |
| So, it would make sense that this all is just another blip, another false alarm, another way to pull our attention away from... What possibly could they be pulling our attention away with with this kind of market dip? | |
| You know, that's always my question. | |
| It's like, we're looking at one thing. | |
| What's the distraction from? | |
| Well, I'll say this, the big story happening over in the UK, they're currently going through their own version of their George Floyd, Black Lives Matter, Antifa, except this time it's with Muslim Islamicists, and this is all in response to a mass stabbing Which is a horrific story, which happened not too long ago. | |
| The story, which is rather incredible in the way that it's been covered by the news, or lack of coverage from the news, I should say, here in the United States specifically, is about a Southport stabbing spree, which has named an attacker Well, let me see if I can get his full name. | |
| and injured many others. | |
| Apparently, there was a Taylor Swift-themed dance event in the United Kingdom, and a 17-year-old suspect whose name is... | |
| Well, let me see if I can get his full name. | |
| I have his last name, but it seems as though they're not naming this guy. | |
| Axel Rudakubana. | |
| Rudakubana. | |
| That sounds like a British name, right? | |
| And I'm not laughing at the kids being killed, no. | |
| I'm laughing at the way the media is covering this up. | |
| Because if you hear how they're covering this, it is insane. | |
| Apparently, British law typically prevents authorities from revealing the identity of criminal suspects under the age of 18, but we all know that's not why they're trying to cover up the identity of this suspect, which they are, trust me. | |
| What was fascinating, so if you go, and this is probably how it is right now, if you go to, and I do this always as a test, right, to see what the news is trying to hide. | |
| So you go to Google.com. | |
| And then you type in, like I did, Southport Massacre, or Southport Stabbing, right? | |
| And then scroll through the news stories, right? | |
| And it took me eight pages to find one news story where it was a conservative bent that actually named the suspect. | |
| And you go, well, why does that matter? | |
| Well, it matters because of this. | |
| They don't want you to know who did this. | |
| Because they're trying to make sure that you don't understand that the enemy is at the door and they're coming for your children. | |
| And they'll say it with all these, you know, pleasantries and, you know, these false platitudes of like, well, we're just trying to prevent Islamophobia. | |
| We're trying to prevent violence against Islam. | |
| It's like, But were you trying to prevent the murder of all those innocent children? | |
| The ones that were just dancing and being innocent, and albeit dancing to Taylor Swift, which, you know, don't get me started on that witch, but regardless, they're innocent children, and they got stabbed to death. | |
| I mean, we're talking about little kids, too. | |
| We're not talking about even, like, teenagers. | |
| These are like, you know, Preteen kids getting murdered. | |
| And it's horrific. | |
| It's disgusting. | |
| We pray for the families of those involved. | |
| But at the same time, I mean, I'm scrolling through Google, and I'm like, okay, let me see if I can find one story that names this person and has an even moderate conservative leaning. | |
| And no, Nothing. | |
| Like I said, it took me eight pages to find one story from a conservative, and it's Fox News, so it's like, is that even really conservative? | |
| Because what's amazing to me is that people think Fox News is this like, conservative stalwart news organization. | |
| Yeah, no, Fox News is basically just moderate Democrats Like, that's literally who runs it and who most of the people on it are. | |
| They're moderate Democrats. | |
| They're, in a lot of cases, not all but some, are lukewarm Christians who have zero black Backbone, and have a propensity toward weakness and capitulation to the pressure of the woke DEI brigade's demands. | |
| Right? | |
| Oh, it's okay if you wave your gay flag all over my channel, it's great, you know? | |
| Just leave me alone and my kids. | |

| You know, and those people make me sick because, you know, was it in Revelation where it's written that God will spit out the lukewarm? | |

| You have to be on fire for Christ and the Gospel and sharing and making sure that people are... Because here's the thing, right? | |

| And they're all the crown nations, really. | |
| Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the UK. | |
| They're all facing the same problem, right? | |
| They're subjects in a royal monarchy. | |

| We all know they're ruled by the crown. | |
| And they know that. | |
| You know, they have their little parliament and the king allows them to do it, but at the end of the day, they are subjects of the crown and they even talk about themselves that way in a lot of regards. | |

| You know, the king that we tried to overthrow in the late 1700s. | |
| Successfully did for a short period of time until we realized, oh crap, they still control the world with the shipping lanes and everything else. | |
| So we had to recapitulate and submit through maritime law to their authoritarian rule and, you know, enact treaties. | |
| And then, if you'll recall, shortly after our revolution, quote unquote, they did come and burn down our White House. | |
| And yeah, there's a lot to our history that most people Let's just say are blissfully ignorant of, right? | |
| However, I digress. | |
| And the point being that the Crown Nations are on a very dark path. | |
| This whole stabbing, I believe, it's not like, so when I say that this was allowed to happen, let me be very clear. | |
| It wasn't that there was some guy in a room, and this is my humble opinion, I don't think there was some guy in a room saying, okay, we're gonna get, you know, what's this guy's name? | |
| We're gonna, we're gonna get Axl Rudacabana to go kill all these kids at a Taylor Swift concert. | |
| It's brilliant. | |
| I don't think that's how it works. | |
| I think it works like this. | |
| We're going to flood this nation, is what they say, with illegals whose ideological viewpoints and stances are completely against the norms and values of the West. | |
| And when chaos ensues, which it surely will, we'll use this as a pretext to bring in more heavy authoritarian control, more martial law type scenarios, more control over what you can say, where you can go, what you can do, more Chinese Communist style controls on society. | |
| And that's the point. | |
| So, they just had this election, right, in the UK, for those of you who have been paying attention. | |
| If you haven't been paying attention, which, you know, unfortunately most Americans probably couldn't name the Prime Minister of the UK if they were, you know, gun to the head type scenario. | |
| Metaphorically, they had to, I mean. | |
| Keir Starmer, He's the prime minister now. | |
| He's from the Labour Party, which is essentially the British Democrats. | |
| This guy is the embodiment of what weak men look like. | |
| He's just a weak, kind of feckless, spineless jellyfish of a human who, you know, again, is just a puppeteer of this larger authoritarian entity, this control matrix. | |
| You know, the globalist bank cartel is really Who's in control at this point? | |
| It's he who, he who owns the money or runs the money or prints the money, right? | |
| That's, that's who matters. | |
| Just like they said, he who counts the votes, right? | |
| Those are the people that really matter. | |
| So this guy is, is, you know, he's condemning the violence, but then he, but what's amazing is, so what happens is all these kids get murdered and the British people get pissed | |
| And they realize that it's radical islamicists who are killing their children, so they go out and start protesting, and then all of the radical islamicists see this as a threat, rightfully so I'm sure, and they start fighting back, clashing basically, not even fighting back, they start fighting openly in the streets, and guess who the British government decides to condemn? | |
| You'll never guess. | |

| Oh, the far-right white people who are fighting to protect their nation and their heritage and their children. | |
| Those are the people who are condemned. | |
| Not the foreign invaders who are there murdering their children, of course, because that would be a bridge too far. | |
| That wouldn't be PC, as they say. | |
| That wouldn't be politically correct. | |
| That wouldn't fall within the D.E.I. | |
| woke categories of acceptance. | |
| Of course they come out and they literally condemn the far right protesters who are saying, our country is being overtaken by an Islamic invasion and you're doing nothing about it while our children are being stabbed to death. | |

| And the government's like, oh, well, we'll, we'll condemn you! | |
| Shut your mouth and allow your children to be groomed by foreigners and allow them to be murdered and, uh, you know, allow Sharia law to take over your streets. | |
| And you go, Craig, that's crazy. | |
| They're not doing that in the Britain and the UK. | |
| Yes, they are. | |
| Half of Europe has no-go zones where, you know, Sharia law is the law of the land. | |
| And I'm not, I'm talking about westernized European nations. | |

| Do not let them overthrow your history, your culture, your heritage. | |
| It's your land, and they want you to fight so that they can bring in more authoritarian measures, but at what point do you say, what other option do we have? | |

| And, you know, right now we're seeing all kinds of crazy reports. | |
| It's been reported that migrants, hotels are being besieged by uh... angry citizens who who are pissed off and rightfully so because their country is being overtaken and uh... by globalist bank cartels who have you know opened the floodgates with foreign forces that have the destruction of their heritage at heart | |
| And, you know, I found a clip, I think this is a Member of Parliament there in the UK, I think it's in the Independence Party, but I'm not sure exactly who it is, but they explain this in great detail and I want to play that clip in just a second, but to kind of Give you an overview of what happened. | |
| For those of you just joining us, there was a stabbing in the UK, right? | |
| In Southport called the Southport Massacre. | |
| A bunch of young children. | |
| I mean, we're talking like, you know, six, seven, eight year old children, I would imagine. | |
| We're at a dance, Taylor Swift themed dance concert. | |
| Not that that matters, but it is kind of an interesting thing because Taylor Swift, in my opinion, is a witch. | |
| So, you know, bad things happen when you, you know, have Dealings with witches, but regardless of that is also bad things happen when you have Muslim Islamist invaders, too So it's a lot of bad things coinciding there And I guess some you know Muslim Guy, 17-year-old, they're saying he's a kid, he's a man, for whatever reason went in there and said, you know what, I'm going to stab all these children in the name of Allah or whatever. | |
| And that has led to a massive backlash from the people. | |
| They're saying this is crazy. | |
| Our country's being overtaken. | |
| But Alex Jones points it out well. | |
| He's been saying this and I think he's right. | |
| You know, they're walking into a trap. | |
| Alex didn't really have to really clearly define what the trap is, because we all know what it is, right? | |
| The trap is that they want to bring in more authoritarian control. | |
| So how do they do that? | |
| They bring in foreign forces and invaders to destabilize society, to attack the indigenous people or the, you know, the people who are from there with their heritage. | |
| And that results in chaos, that results in crime, that results in clashes and conflict, which ultimately necessitates a higher authority to come in and say, all right, well, you know, obviously the streets aren't safe anymore, so we need facial recognition obviously the streets aren't safe anymore, so we need facial recognition scanning at every We need social credit score implementation. | |
| We need, you know, digital lockdowns. | |
| Remember the truckers in the trucking convoy in Canada during the COVID lockdowns is a great example. | |
| They were like, well, these truckers, they're really getting out of control, so we're going to go ahead and just shut down their bank accounts. | |
| It's like, what? | |
| Really? | |
| You're just going to shut off my bank account because I don't want to obey your authoritarian whims? | |
| Hmm, interesting. | |
| And that's what this is, so they are walking into a trap, unfortunately, but... | |
| You know, the way I look at it with the traps that they set and lay, you know, I put my faith in God. | |
| And that's the power of having Christ in your heart and having God on your side, is that you know that the traps that they lay for you, they themselves will fall into, right? | |
| That their traps will fail, essentially. | |
| And I say that in regard to how this is all unfolding, right? | |

| This is, I believe, a member of the European Parliament here, describing what's happening in the UK right now, and what these Islamists really bring to the table. | |
| And this is something that is so true, and I agree with what he says here. | |

| They are a representation of what Islam, the Caliphs, the Sultanates, the Emirates, that's how they operated. | |
| The heads of Islam. | |
| The Grand Imams and the Muftis said the same exact thing. | |
| So that is what it is. | |
| Again, it's not my point to argue, you know, this particular migrant wants to conquer you. | |
| Maybe he doesn't. | |
| Maybe he's looking for a good life. | |
| I understand that. | |
| And that's what makes it complicated. | |
| But to just open your borders completely to that demographic, which has within it, not all of it, but within it, that kernel of animosity for Christians and so-called infidels and the imperative to conquer the world in the name of jihad for Allah, which they're the good guys. | |
| Keep in mind, they never see themselves as the bad guys. | |
| This is one of the issues with all conflicts. | |
| They're not bad guys, they're good guys in their mind. | |
| You're the bad guys because you're infidels and they're trying to bring the light of Islam to you. | |
| So that's another aspect of how moral or the morality that they feel. | |
| They're the good guys, okay? | |
| in doing this because look at you Denmark and Europe you're all you're all dissipated drunks and you know profligates and you know there's no no really I'm sharing with you their arguments because I read it and I hear it so they're bringing to you goodness okay But before, your ancestors, because I guess they had their own social order and their own good, it was called Christianity, were able to fight it. | |
| But I guess in this current void of sort of this atheistic climate, well, anything goes and who's to say they're wrong, maybe they're right, etc, etc. | |
| Now you have what's happening. | |
| So it's a very unprecedented experience. | |
| A lot of people talk about the Roman Empire, this sort of thing happened, but it didn't. | |
| And we can get into that. | |
| It was actually, they were still cognizant of trying to maintain their own social, cultural mores. | |
| Rome. | |
| And it fell to the Goths and the Germanic peoples. | |
| I'm just saying some people use this analogy. | |
| But in this case, this is completely your doing. | |
| Not you, but it's Europe's doing. | |
| You're bringing a hostile force that's openly hostile. | |
| And lo and behold, when I look where Muslims are, I see chaos and violence and criminality. | |

| I hope so. | |

| But it's so bad that it even had to get to this point. | |

| I mean, everything that you're seeing with Kamala is fake. | |

| There's no grassroots support for her. | |
| There is no groundswell of support that's just coming out. | |

| But again, if you look at the CIA's playbook and the intelligence agencies, look what they did in Ukraine. | |

| That's what I want you to do, and it's just good because it keeps us in scripture, and that's what matters. | |
| Speaking of scripture, if you guys don't know, first of all, we had a text from the 505 say, predicting the end of the world is tricky. | |
| You're only right once. | |

| That's a good, that's a great, uh, point. | |
| Let's go listen to our, uh, our, our Baptist, our minister here from Front Range Baptist Church, Pastor Dean Miller and his, um, amazing sermon from this Sunday on progressive Christianity. | |
| You're going to want to hear this. | |
| He goes there. | |
| Colossians chapter 1. | |
| And for those of you who are new to our church, we've been going through the book of Colossians. | |
| We've just begun a few weeks ago. | |
| And we're dealing with an issue in this church. | |
| We would have never known about the city of Colossae had there not been a church there. | |
| But Paul wrote to this church. | |
| Paul had never been there. | |
| He'd never seen these people. | |
| But because of Paul's ministry, a man by the name of Epaphras got saved. | |
| Epaphras was from? | |
| Colossi and he went back home and he began to share the gospel with his friends and family and neighbors like all Christians should do. | |
| Amen? | |
| That's a good time for an amen right there. | |
| We should all share the gospel. | |
| But he went back, began to win people to Christ. | |
| And another one of Paul's converts, a man who got saved under Paul's ministry by the name of Philemon. | |
| Philemon opened his home and this church began in Philemon's home and began to grow. | |
| And it was a thriving church. | |
| The problem was There were false teachers who came into this church, and they began to bring false doctrine in. | |
| And it was a mixture of what was called Gnosticism in those days. | |
| And really to nail down what Gnosticism is all about is kind of like trying to nail down a live fish. | |
| It is hard to find what they believe because they had an algamation of all kinds of things that they would think would lead to greater and deeper experiences that would take them into higher levels of spiritual enlightenment. | |
| And so they were willing to take any starting point. | |
| So if you were a Christian and you believed in Jesus Christ, they'd say, oh, that's great. | |
| He's a wonderful person to believe in. | |
| But we can help you to find greater enlightenment beyond that. | |
| And Paul knew that this was a major problem. | |
| And the American church needs to hear this epistle once again that, listen to me, Jesus Christ is enough. | |
| That you can always go deeper into Jesus, but you can never go deeper than Jesus. | |
| You can always go further in Christ, but you cannot go beyond Christ. | |
| That He is all in all, and He is all we need. | |
| And so, Paul was having to set them straight. | |
| Now, one of the things about the book of Colossians that's interesting, In most of Paul's epistles, Paul starts right off with theology. | |
| You ever notice that? | |
| Read the book of Ephesians sometimes. | |
| Paul just jumps right in to this theological discourse about God and who He is and all of that. | |
| Then he eventually turns it into practical. | |
| Romans is all theology until Romans chapter 12. | |
| Then it's all practical. | |
| But Paul doesn't start Colossians off with theology. | |
| He starts Colossians off with neology. | |
| He starts off by praying. | |
| And he's saying, I'm praying for you and I want to pray for you that you won't let this false doctrine creep in. | |
| By the way, I'll just tell you this. | |
| If you want to improve your theology, improve your neology. | |
| Learn to pray. | |
| And when you pray, you're going to learn more about God, and you're going to learn more from Him when you get with God in prayer. | |
| I'll tell you, prayer is the missing ingredient in our Christian lives today, in our church today. | |
| You can do a lot of things after you pray, but listen to me, you can't do anything until you pray. | |
| Jesus said, without me, you can do nothing. | |
| And so, I remember meeting a man one time, and I said, well, brother, we need to pray about that. | |
| And he said, has it come to that? | |
| He thought there were other things we had to do. | |
| That prayer was the last-ditch effort. | |
| But prayer is not the last-ditch effort. | |
| Prayer should be our first start. | |
| And so, Paul begins to pray. | |
| Let's look at this prayer for just a minute. | |
| Colossians 1, verse 9. | |
| Paul says, for this cause we also, and the cause is found in verse 5 and verse 6, that they heard the word of truth, and that they believed the word of truth, and they knew the grace of God. | |
| So here are people who heard the gospel, and they knew the grace of God in truth. | |
| And Paul said, for that cause, for the truth of God's grace and the gospel, I'm praying for you. | |
| I'm praying for you. | |
| I want to tell you, the church, the modern day church has watered down the gospel. | |
| Into a place where the gospel now has become, the gospel has become so watered down that people have not experienced the truth of God in grace and experienced the true salvation that comes from the grace of God. | |
| So Paul was praying for that cause. | |
| For this cause also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, now watch this, and to desire that ye might be filled. | |
| That word desire means that we are literally Going to God in agonizing prayer desiring from God that you would be filled with the knowledge of His will. | |
| In all wisdom and spiritual understanding that you might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing. | |
| Being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God. | |
| Strengthened with all might according to His glorious power. | |
| Unto all patience and long-suffering with joyfulness. | |
| Giving thanks unto the Father which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light. | |
| In other words, we're giving thanks to God because God made us able to become partakers of this grace and with the other saints in the light of the Gospel. | |
| Now listen, I read this text and every time I finish reading a text like this where Paul has these long sentences, I get done reading and I look up and everybody's kind of glazed over. | |
| Paul was the master of the run-on sentence. | |
| You can read half of Paul's books and it was all one sentence. | |
| But this is an interesting thing, and we're going to see today, the title of this message is Progressive Christianity. | |
| And we hear a lot about progressiveness in our world today. | |
| But I will tell you, I don't think progressiveness in our culture has caused us to progress. | |
| We used to kind of know the difference between men and women and we've not really progressed far in our world, have we? | |
| Okay. | |
| But we're going to talk about Biblical progression in the Christian life. | |
| What does it mean to be a progressive Christian? | |
| What does it mean to be a Christian who is making progress? | |
| The Christian life is just that. | |
| It is a life. | |
| Listen very carefully. | |
| The Christian life began with being born again. | |
| When you are born again, You are now a new babe in Christ. | |
| And the Bible says, as a new babe in Christ, you need to desire the sincere milk of the Word. | |
| Why? | |
| So you can grow thereby. | |
| So God wants you to get saved, and when you get saved, you're a new creature. | |
| Now you need to grow in that. | |
| That's why the New Testament is filled with language that says, newborn babes, little children, Young men, soldiers, fathers. | |
| God shows this progression of growth in the Christian life. | |
| You know what I love about that? | |
| I'm a growing Christian! | |
| I have not yet apprehended. | |
| I have not yet attained. | |
| I have not found perfection. | |
| Have you? | |
| I'm a growing Christian. | |
| But listen, I'm still pressing toward the mark of the high calling of God. | |
| I'm still trying to get a hold of the thing that God got a hold of me for. | |
| It's amazing when you think about what God has done. | |
| And so Paul is praying, I want you to be filled with the knowledge of His will. | |
| Now, let me just bless your heart for just a minute. | |

| We're going to go back to Pastor Dean Miller from Front Range Baptist Church here in Fort Collins, Colorado. | |

| and 11, but here he is with his sermon about progressive Christianity. | |
| This was worth you getting out of bed this morning and coming to church. | |
| I'm going to give you just a quick Greek lesson. | |
| Are you ready for that? | |
| Now listen, you don't have to know the Greek to know the Bible, but I'm going to give you a little Greek lesson this morning that's going to help us as we look at this study. | |
| So you just put your school hat on. | |
| I know it's been summer, but put your school hat on for just a minute. | |
| Are you ready? | |
| Because I'm going to reintroduce some of you to some words you haven't thought about since 6th grade. | |
| So in this passage of Scripture, there is, in verses 9 through 12 that we just read, there is only one verb. | |
| And the verb here is, be filled. | |
| Paul said, I'm desiring God that you would be filled with the knowledge of His will. | |
| So there's one verb. | |
| Now this is going to really bless your heart. | |
| That one verb has one infinitive. | |
| And that infinitive is there to show purpose or result. | |
| So the verb is be filled. | |
| The purpose or result of that verb, the infinitive of that verb is walk. | |
| You're going to be filled to walk. | |
| All right? | |
| Now listen, this is where you're going to glaze over in a hurry. | |
| There are four participles. | |
| How many of you don't even know what a participle is? | |
| Be honest. | |
| I don't either. | |
| I dangle them all the time. | |
| I'm hanging gerunds, dangling participles. | |
| But here are four participles. | |
| So there's one verb, be filled. | |
| There is one infinitive. | |
| The reason and the purpose to be filled is to walk. | |
| And there are four participles. | |
| And here's the participles. | |
| The participles, and by the way, they're all in present tense. | |
| Be filled to walk, so present tense, you will keep on bearing fruit, keep increasing, keep being strengthened, keep giving thanks. | |
| Alright, so Paul said my prayer is that you would be filled to walk, So you would keep bearing fruit, keep increasing, keep being strengthened, keep giving thanks. | |
| Now listen, what he's saying is... | |
| My prayer is that you would be saved and that you would grow in your salvation. | |
| Now listen, this is an amazing thing that we can grow. | |
| There are four words I want you to just mark in this passage of scripture. | |
| They all start with W. And this is Paul's prayer. | |
| Are you ready? | |
| Watch what he's praying. | |
| These are the four things in this prayer. | |
| Number one, he says, there's the will. | |
| Be filled with the knowledge of the will of God. | |
| If we're going to be progressive Christians, it's going to take these four things. | |
| The will of God. | |
| He said, I want you to understand the will of the Lord with wisdom and spiritual understanding. | |
| Now listen to this carefully. | |
| The next thing he says is, I want you to, he said, I see will and then wisdom. | |
| So there's the will of God, we need to know that. | |
| But then there's the wisdom of God, which is what? | |
| The wisdom of God is how we practically work that out. | |
| You know what wisdom is? | |
| Wisdom is how God thinks about something. | |
| Wisdom is God's mind on any matter. | |
| That's why the Bible says, if you lack wisdom, you have to get it from God. | |
| If you lack wisdom, you ask of God. | |
| Why? | |
| God wants you to think the way He thinks about everything in your life. | |
| That's why we need wisdom. | |
| So God said, I have a will for you, but it's going to require you to have my wisdom on how to do that will. | |
| And when you find my will, and you know my will, and you have my wisdom, then the third W is you'll have a walk. | |
| And that word walk simply means the order of your life. | |
| Your walk is how you order your life. | |
| The Bible says, blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly. | |
| You know what I love about this? | |
| In Ephesians chapter 2, the Bible says that in time past, before you were saved, you walked after the course of this world. | |
| And I looked that word up, and it's an amazing word. | |
| That word walked after the course of this world is the word meander. | |
| So before you were saved, you were just kind of meandering through life. | |
| No direction, you're just going here, you're going there. | |
| You ever seen somebody meander? | |
| I always get behind them in the store. | |
| When I'm trying to get somewhere, I want to get there. | |
| If my wife calls me and says, we need some milk, let me tell you something, I set a timer, and I want to break my record. | |
| I want to park, I want to get in, get the milk, and get out. | |
| And I do it so fast, that by the time I'm in the car and halfway home, she texts me, are you still in the store? | |
| And I text her back, why would I be? | |
| Why would I be hanging out in there? | |
| You sent me for milk? | |
| I got the milk. | |
| I didn't go anywhere else. | |
| I didn't look at anything else. | |
| But I always get behind. | |
| I'm in a hurry and I get behind the person who's meandering. | |
| They have no reason to be there. | |
| They're just kind of like, oh, look over there. | |
| They're squeaking hangers, picking stuff up. | |
| They don't even want a blender, but they're looking at them. | |
| Anybody ever been behind the meanderer? | |
| This is how the world who's unsaved, this is how they live. | |
| They just are, what's over here? | |
| They're just kind of window shopping. | |
| They're just meandering through life. | |
| But when you get saved, God says, no, order your life. | |
| Know your route. | |
| Know where you're going. | |
| Listen to me. | |
| I know how to get in Target from the front door to the milk and to the checkout counter and out. | |
| I know how to do it. | |
| Zip, zip, zip. | |
| I'm done. | |
| Now listen, God said, I want you to know my will, have my wisdom to order your walk. | |
| Why? | |
| For the work. | |
| Do you see it there? | |
| He said in verse number 10, being fruitful in every good work. | |
| So God wants you to know his will and know his wisdom about his will so that it'll order your walk so that you can do the work that God has saved you to do. | |
| Now this is a pretty big deal when the Bible says that you might walk worthy of the Lord. | |
| So you know what the will of God for your life is? | |
| Let me tell you something. | |
| First of all, He's revealed all of it in His book. | |
| This is the will of God for your life. | |
| This is the will of God for your life. | |
| But let me tell you what God's will is. | |
| We quote Romans 8, 28 all the time. | |
| For we know all things work together for good to them who love God, who are called according to His purpose. | |
| And we stop there. | |
| But verse 29 tells you what His purpose is. | |
| His purpose is for whom He did foreknow. | |
| Then He also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of His Son. | |
| Now, here's where everybody gets a little bit screwy on this. | |
| People all of a sudden want to start saying, well, wait a minute, does that mean that God predestines who's going to be saved and who's not going to be saved? | |
| No! | |
| Read the grammar again. | |
| God foreknew, so He predestines them to be conformed to the image of His Son. | |
| God wasn't... God was not predestining the people, He was predestining the plan. | |
| So watch this very carefully, watch this very carefully. | |
| God, God said, notice what He said. | |
| All things work together for good to them who love God, who are the called according to His purpose. | |
| Now watch this. | |
| This is why when God became a Creator, when God created, He knew He would have to be a Redeemer. | |
| If God was going to be a Creator, He'd have to be a Redeemer. | |
| So before the foundation of the world, before He ever created the world, Jesus was already the Lamb slain. | |
| You ever read that in your Bible? | |
| He was slain before the foundation of the world. | |
| Why? | |
| God had already pre-designed a plan to save men that needed to be saved. | |
| So watch what happens. | |
| This is why in the book of Genesis, God puts man in a garden and then he puts a tree. | |
| And he says, Adam, you can eat of all these trees freely. | |
| That's all yours. | |
| But this one is mine. | |
| Now, why did he do that? | |
| Because God's intention for making man was for man to know God, to love God, and to fellowship with God. | |
| The highest good a man can do is to love God. | |
| You say, well, how do you know that? | |
| What is the greatest commandment? | |
| The greatest commandment is thou shalt love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind. | |
| So the greatest good a man can do is to love God with all of his heart, all of his mind, all of his soul. | |
| And so if God's relationship with man was going to be built upon love and fellowship and relationship, love has to be put to a test. | |
| One of the greatest things about my marriage is that my wife chose me. | |
| You say, why is that great? | |
| Have you seen her and have you seen me? | |
| The fact that my wife stood before God and a pastor and everybody and actually said the words and meant it, forsaking all others, I give myself only unto thee. | |
| I mean, listen, that blows my mind. | |
| There were other fish in the sea and she chose me. | |
| Listen, this is what love is all about. | |
| Love is, you made a choice. | |
| But watch this, listen. | |
| When God put the tree in the garden, man failed that test. | |
| Man loved himself. | |
| Man was a lover of pleasure more than a lover of God. | |
| Men became lovers of their own selves. | |
| I want to satisfy my desire and my need. | |
| So man took what wasn't his to get what wasn't his because he wanted it. | |
| And he did exactly what the serpent said. | |
| In the day you eat thereof, you shall be as God's. | |
| You are saying you're just as much God as He is. | |
| You've elevated yourself and you've brought Him down to your level and you've become God. | |
| What did you do? | |
| You loved you more than you loved Him. | |
| But we often forget about this. | |
| Though man failed that test in the garden, God was also being tested at that tree. | |
| And when God came into that garden, and the creature from the dust that he had just breathed his life into was standing defiantly with the apple in his hand, or whatever fruit it was, looking at him defiantly with a proud look. | |
| God saw that man who loved himself more than God loved me, and God said, wait a minute, you defied me. | |
| And God could have immediately destroyed him, but what did God do? | |
| God took an animal and slew it. | |
| And for the first time in man's history, Adam and Eve watched the light of life fade from an animal's eyes. | |
| And blood spilled into the ground and God took that coat of that animal and clothed them and brought them to himself. | |
| And then God said, the seed of this woman will bruise the serpent's head and crush his head. | |
| You see, Adam, what you did is you put your hand on my tree. | |
| But one day I'm going to take your tree. | |
| And I'm going to demonstrate my love for you in this way, that while you were sinning, I was dying for it. | |
| And I will be the Lamb that will shed His blood for you. | |
| Do you know the reason why we love Him? | |
| We love Him because He first loved us. | |
| So God's whole plan of redemption was for God to take a fallen race who did not love Him. | |
| God had a plan to love them. | |
| God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son. | |
| So don't you get all screwy on this thing with all this kind of stuff out there. | |
| Well, God chooses who will be saved and who won't be saved. | |
| Listen to me very carefully. | |
| God chose the way to be saved. | |
| The only way for you to be saved is through Jesus. | |
| That's why Jesus could stand definitively and say, I am the way, I am the truth, I am the life, and no man can come to the Father but by me. | |
| That sounds pretty narrow, doesn't it? | |
| That's a narrow way. | |
| He said God and His sovereignty made a plan. | |
| God said, if you're going to go to heaven, Jesus said, if you're going to go to heaven, you have to come through Me. | |
| You have to come to Jesus Christ. | |
| And Jesus Christ will give you forgiveness, and He will give you His life, and He will then transform you into the image of Christ, so that you can be presented to the Father. | |
| Now watch this. | |
| Jesus said, there's no other way but Me. | |
| But then He said, and whosoever will may come. | |
| So what is the will of God? | |
| The will of God is for you to be saved. | |
| The will of God is for you to come to Jesus Christ, so that He can transform you into the image of His Son, so that you can be like Christ! | |
| Think about that! | |
| That me, a sinner, saved by grace, me, a wretch, could be made like Jesus Christ. | |
| God said of Jesus, this is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. | |
| And then he says in this passage of scripture, hey, walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing. | |
| Let your life be pleasing to God. | |
| You know, Enoch, the Bible said, Enoch had this testimony that he pleased God. | |
| You know what, I would love to have that testimony at the end of my life for my family and my children to stand around my grave and say, there's one thing about Dad that we know, he pleased God. | |
| And without faith it's impossible to please Him. | |
| Now watch this very carefully. | |
| What Paul was not saying is this. | |
| Don't misunderstand this. | |
| Paul was not saying that we need to do works that make us worthy so that we please God. | |
| Don't get the idea that this is a performance theology that he's saying that we have to do all kinds of works that make us worthy. | |
| What Paul is not saying here, look at verse 10, that ye might walk worthy of the Lord. | |
| Now listen to me, what Paul is not saying is that we have to live a certain way that makes us worthy. | |
| There's not a person in this room worthy of being saved. | |
| People come to me and say, I just don't feel worthy. | |
| I'm like, who does? | |
| And if you do feel worthy, I don't think you're saved. | |
| So, Paul is not saying that we have to live a life that is made worthy, that God will accept us because we've made ourselves. | |

| Let's just jump right back in. | |
| So Paul is not saying that we have to live a life that is made worthy, that God will accept us because we've made ourselves worthy. | |
| No. | |
| And this worthy does not mean that we can reach a spiritual perfection like the Gnostics were teaching, where we can do all kinds of works to make ourselves worthy of God. | |
| That's not what he's saying at all. | |
| Worthy here means that we are filled with the knowledge of His will. | |
| That we know that God's design in salvation is to make me like Jesus, and I'm filled with the knowledge of that. | |
| And that, now I'm yielded to that will, and I allow God to do His work in me, which makes an impact on my walk and how I order my life. | |
| And that we're working out in our life the work of God in us. | |
| Are you, is everybody with me today? | |
| Are you with me? | |
| We're working out the work He's doing in us and that pleases God. | |
| God is not pleased with my work. | |
| God is pleased with the work of Christ in me. | |
| And when I let the work of Christ in me, Paul, Paul, how did you do all the things you did? | |
| Paul said, I didn't do anything. | |
| Paul, yes you did. | |
| You went around the world preaching the gospel, building churches. | |
| Paul said, how could I do that? | |
| I'm crucified. | |
| I'm dead. | |
| Well, Paul, certainly you're not dead. | |
| You're standing here talking to me. | |
| Well, yes, certainly I am dead. | |
| I'm crucified with Christ. | |
| Nevertheless, I live. | |
| Yet not I. It's Christ living in me. | |
| And the life that I now live in this flesh, I live by the faith of the Son of God who loved me and gave himself for me. | |
| Paul, how did you do what you did? | |
| I let Jesus just do His work in me. | |
| And don't you think that pleased God? | |
| Don't you think that Paul was walking worthy? | |
| Paul said it this way in Ephesians chapter 4 and verse 1, that we would walk worthy of our calling. | |
| He said it this way in Philippians chapter 1 verse 27, that we would walk worthy of the gospel. | |
| Hey listen, you know one of the greatest shames of the gospel is for us to get saved by the glorious grace of Jesus Christ. | |
| We get born again by the grace of Christ and then we say, well you know what, now I can just do whatever I want. | |
| And that makes a mockery of the cross. | |
| Listen, the Lord did not give us His grace so that we could do what we want. | |
| The Lord gave us His grace so that we could do as we should. | |
| That we could now live the life of Christ in us. | |
| Is anybody tracking with me this morning? | |
| This is kind of a hard message, but if you're tracking, stay with me. | |
| I'm going to make it very practical in a second. | |
| This is the result of the work of God. | |
| So in other words, here's what I'm saying. | |
| Here's what Paul's saying in this past scripture. | |
| The work that we do. | |
| Okay, what did Paul say? | |
| Paul said that we might walk worthy. | |
| That we would order our lives in a manner that is worthy of the Lord. | |
| That pleases God. | |
| That bears fruit in our work. | |
| So here's what Paul's saying. | |
| Paul's saying that our work that we do is the outflow of the work that he's doing in us. | |
| So don't get in mind that this is a performance theology. | |
| Our churches are filled with performance theology. | |
| We get saved and then we start putting rules on everybody. | |
| You know, live by these rules. | |
| You know, everybody's got to comb their hair a certain way. | |
| Everybody's gotta wear a suit and tie to church. | |
| Everybody's gotta, you know, we put all these rules on. | |
| You ever been in a church where everybody looked exactly the same? | |
| Combed their hair the same? | |
| You look around, and you're the only one that doesn't fit. | |
| You know, you ever been there? | |
| Anybody know? | |
| Just me? | |
| Anybody know what I'm talking about? | |
| Okay, so what he's saying is, is like, look, this is not where we start saying, okay, do all of these things and you'll be a good Christian. | |
| No, no, no. | |
| Be a good Christian, let Christ live in you, and you'll do all these things. | |
| In other words, order your life in Christ and He'll produce a life in you and a fruitfulness in you. | |
| It's not performance theology, it's produce theology. | |
| It's fruit-bearing theology. | |
| And it bears fruit in your life. | |
| Now let me just give you as we're done. | |
| We're done. | |
| Watch these three things. | |
| This is what Paul said. | |
| If you're going to do this, if the outflow of your life is going to be the work of Christ, watch this very carefully. | |
| Number one, You have to have a focused walk. | |
| Say that out loud with me. | |
| Number one, you have to have a focused walk. | |
| What is the focus? | |
| Look at verse 10, that you might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing. | |
| The focus of our walk. | |
| Now watch this. | |
| If we're going to have this kind of progressive Christianity that grows in the Lord Jesus Christ, then you have to have a focused walk on pleasing God. | |
| On pleasing God. | |
| It was John F. Kennedy who said, ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country. | |
| Remember him saying that? | |
| Some of you were alive when he said that. | |
| I wish there was a verse in the Bible that said something like that, but the principle is still there. | |
| Ask not what God can do for you, ask what you can do for the Father. | |
| That's essentially what he's saying. | |
| Order your life in a way that says, God, I want to please you. | |
| By the way, this is what makes marriages fail. | |
| You know what marriages fail? | |
| Marriages get into problem when one or both of the spouses in that marriage begin to say things like, you're not meeting my needs. | |
| And the moment you do that, you have become introverted in your view. | |
| You have become self-focused, and you're looking now at everything that's not being done as an offense to you, and you are offended in the marriage because you're not being pleased. | |
| But the purpose of marriage is for the husband to live in a manner that pleases the wife, to meet her needs. | |
| God's plan for the wife is to meet the husband's needs, and so when they are mutually meeting each other's needs, that is a healthy marriage. | |
| But I will tell you something, if you're in a marriage where one of you is saying, I'm not having my needs met, listen, you continue as the other spouse, you continue to pursue them, and I'll tell you what'll happen. | |
| They will, in turn, God will change their heart. | |
| There has to be a focus of pleasing others. | |
| This is why the Bible says that David was a man after God's own heart. | |
| You read that and you think, wait a minute, he was a scoundrel. | |
| He cheated on his wife. | |
| He took Bathsheba. | |
| David murdered a man. | |
| How could he be a man after God's heart? | |
| That's not what it meant. | |
| It didn't mean that David was a man that was modeled after God. | |
| He was a man who was after God's heart. | |
| David was saying, God, what can I do for you? | |
| This is why when David did sin, he was finally broken. | |
| He said, what have I done? | |
| Oh, my soul is cast down within me. | |
| Oh God, forgive me. | |
| Have mercy against you and you only. | |
| Have I sinned? | |
| David understood that what he had done displeased the heart of God. | |
| David was in the pursuit of God. | |
| He was after God's heart. | |
| God, what can I do for you? | |
| That's why David went down in that valley to face the giant. | |
| David didn't go down there to build his resume. | |
| He didn't go down there to flex his muscle. | |
| He was a young shepherd boy with a sling, and he saw that giant and he said, You come to me with sword and spear, but I come to you in the name of the Lord our God, and today shall all the world know that there's a God in Israel. | |
| Why was David in that valley? | |
| You are not going to profane God. | |
| You are not going to curse God. | |
| You are not going to talk about our God that way. | |
| And in fact, God is going to use me to show the whole world who He is. | |
| What drove David into that valley was to please God. | |
| Everything in your life needs to have that focus of what pleases Him. | |
| Does this please the Lord? | |
| The way that I'm treating my spouse, does that please the Lord? | |
| The way we're raising our children, does that please the Lord? | |
| Is this worthy of the Gospel? | |
| Are we walking a Gospel life? | |
| Are we ordering our life with a focus of pleasing God? | |
| Whether you eat or drink or whatsoever you do, do all to the glory of God. | |
| That's the focus. | |
| Number two, he said, you have to have a fruitful walk. | |
| So number one, you had to have a focus walk. | |
| Number two, say it with me. | |
| You have to have a fruitful walk. | |
| A fruitful walk. | |
| Watch the fruitful walk. | |
| Look at verse 10, that you might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing. | |
| Watch this. | |
| Being fruitful in every good work. | |
| Jesus said, you want to know who my people are? | |
| You'll know them by their fruit. | |
| They are fruit bearers. | |

| We're going right back to Pastor Dean Miller and his sermon on progressive Christianity. | |
| As you walk in focus, you will bear fruit. | |
| How do you get that? | |
| Watch this. | |
| By abiding in Christ. | |
| Jesus said, I'm the vine, you're the branches. | |
| He that abides in me, and I in him, you'll bring forth fruit. | |
| Now, I didn't do really good in the botanical sciences. | |
| Come look at my garden and that'll tell you that I didn't do very good. | |
| I grow an amazing collection of weeds. | |
| I've got weeds. | |
| I got some of the most beautiful weeds. | |
| They really are. | |
| They got little flowers on them. | |
| They got little, I mean, they're just, it's just, it's beautiful. | |
| But there's no fruit. | |
| Now listen, I don't know if a tree is dead or alive. | |
| You take me out to an apple tree in the wintertime and say, is that tree, I'm gonna say that tree is dead. | |
| Has no leaves on, is dead. | |
| Now, somebody who's a little further along, they could find other ways to know how the health of that tree is, but I'll tell you this, there's a surefire way of knowing the health of that tree, and that is this. | |
| Wait till spring, and if it brings apples, that tree's doing good. | |
| So the Lord said, look at the fruitfulness of your life. | |
| What is your life? | |
| What fruit is bearing in your life? | |
| If we abide in Christ, His life flows into us. | |
| That's why you can go into a vineyard and you can take an old dead branch and you can graft it into another tree and bind it, and before long, The sap of that tree will flow into that branch and that branch will start bearing the fruit of that tree. | |
| It's called grafting. | |
| And the Bible says in Romans chapter 11 that He grafted us in. | |
| God took us as a whole bunch of dead sticks and put us into Christ and then the life of Christ flowed in us and we began to bear fruit. | |
| Now who's bearing the fruit? | |
| Me or Christ? | |
| Yes! | |
| It's His life in me bearing fruit. | |
| It's His work in us. | |
| It's not our work for Him that bears fruit. | |
| You know, when we try to become a fruitful Christian, we make up our own rules and systems. | |
| It's like putting wax fruit on a tree and we're just tying it on. | |
| Look how beautiful that tree is. | |
| It's artificial. | |
| It's got to come from the inner life, the inner man, bearing fruit. | |
| And by the way, fruit is so important. | |
| Let me just give you a couple reasons why fruit is important. | |
| Number one, fruit is important because it's evidence of progress. | |
| If you plant a fruit tree and you've been taking care of that thing and trimming it and watering it and feeding it over and over the course of a few years, but it never produces fruit, the tree is not progressing. | |
| There's something wrong with the tree. | |
| There's something wrong with its roots. | |
| There's something wrong here because it's not bearing fruit. | |
| Listen, listen to me carefully. | |
| If you've ever experienced love from me, that was not from me. | |
| If you've ever seen the joy of the Lord in me, that was not from me. | |
| If you've ever messed up and you found long-suffering from me and patience from me and kindness from me, that was not from me. | |
| My staff will tell you that if it's me being kind, it wasn't me. | |
| It was Jesus. | |
| It's His fruit in us. | |
| If there's any good thing in you, it's because Christ is producing it. | |
| Everybody with me? | |
| It's Christ in us bearing fruit. | |
| Fruit that's evidence. | |
| Have you ever done something in a moment? | |
| You ever had something happen, and you would have responded this way, but you responded that way, and you actually surprised yourself? | |
| Like, whoa, where'd that come from? | |
| That was the Lord in you. | |
| That was the Lord in you. | |
| I was on a flight the other day and I sat down in a seat and there was a guy sat next to me and he turned around and he was saying something to somebody behind him and he said, I'm sorry, that's just the way seat assignments work. | |
| And I look back and his daughter was sitting behind him. | |
| And I like the window seat. | |
| I don't want to have to get up and move for everybody. | |
| I don't want the lady bumping me with the cart when she comes down. | |
| I like the window seat. | |
| I don't like the aisle seat. | |
| And all of a sudden I'm like, hey, you want to switch? | |
| And he's like, you would do that? | |
| I'm like, yeah. | |
| Well, I wouldn't. | |
| Because I'm still sitting in this seat. | |
| But Christ in me is going to the aisle seat! | |
| And I got drug back there reluctantly by the Lord and I sat in that seat thinking, why did I do that? | |
| You ever done that? | |
| It's evidence though of the life of Christ in you. | |
| Fruit is also important because number two, it allows others to sample Christ. | |
| When unsaved people meet us and they taste and see that the Lord is good, they say, there's something different about you. | |
| Normally somebody would have yelled at me in that situation, but you were kind. | |
| And they get to sample what the life of Christ is. | |
| You ever notice that apple trees don't eat apples? | |
| Did you ever notice that orange trees don't ever peel their own oranges and consume them? | |
| Fruit trees bear fruit for others to partake. | |
| And the life of Christ in us is always fruit for them, not for ourselves. | |
| His work flows through us and gives other people a sample of Christ. | |
| So it takes a focused walk, a fruitful walk, and we're done. | |
| It takes a furthered walk. | |
| Look at verse 10. | |
| That you might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing. | |
| That's our focus. | |
| Being fruitful in every good work. | |
| That's the fruitfulness. | |
| And increasing in the knowledge of God. | |
| That's the furtherance. | |
| You say, what is Paul saying here, increasing in the knowledge of God? | |
| Does that mean that I'm learning more facts about God? | |
| Or am I learning more from God? | |
| Yes! | |
| I'm learning more about who He is factually from His Word. | |
| I'm growing in my understanding of the Word of God and of who God has revealed Himself to be in His Word. | |
| But I am growing in the experiential relationship and fellowship with Him. | |
| This is the problem with the Gnostics. | |
| The Gnostics were trying to get them to go through this great explosion of experience and knowledge. | |
| And I see in Christian lives, we want this deeper experience. | |
| And I see Christians, man, we read all these books, we listen to all these YouTubers, we study, study, study, study, study, and we're growing in all of these facts. | |
| But there's no increase in knowing God more. | |
| I know more about Him, but I don't know Him. | |
| Ask yourself the question, do I know Him? | |
| Do I really know Him? | |
| So Paul was saying, listen, when you have this focused walk, And He's doing a fruitful work in you. | |
| You're going to increase. | |
| You're going to further this. | |
| You're going to grow more and more and more in your knowledge about Him and your knowledge of Him. | |
| Let me tell you something. | |
| 28 years ago, I said, I do, to Michelle. | |
| And she said, if I have to, to me. | |
| Now, I want to tell you something. | |
| I gave everything that I knew about me To everything that I knew about her 28 years ago. | |
| But 28 years later, I know a whole lot more about me and I know a whole lot more about her. | |
| I've grown to know her. | |
| I know about her and I know her. | |
| She knows more about me and she knows me. | |

| We're going to finish up here with a little bit of Pastor Dean Miller's sermon from Front Range Baptist Church. | |

| But let's listen to the end of the sermon. | |
| This is the furtherance of the walk of Christ. | |
| As we get saved, we grow to know more about God and more of God. | |
| And we grow in the intimacy with God. | |
| And we get to know Him. | |
| And it's a vibrant, intimate relationship. | |
| You see, here's the thing about the knowledge of God. | |
| Growing in the knowledge about God is doctrinal. | |
| Growing in the knowledge of God is practical. | |
| Here's the problem with the deeper life mentality that the Gnostics had. | |
| They wanted to go so deep into things. | |
| And I've seen people do it. | |
| Man, they get, man, but Pastor, you got to read this. | |
| You know, no other Christian knows this, but me and you. | |
| Read this book. | |
| Man, this will blow your mind. | |
| And I see people who go so deep, they get dumb. | |
| And they have all this knowledge, but they're not doing anything for the Lord. | |
| The Apostle Paul always had, by the way, listen, the knowledge of God is always deeply spiritual, but it is intensely practical. | |

| Moody said, I believe every Bible should be bound in shoe leather. | |
| So that when you open it up, you have to ask yourself the question, what am I going to do with what I learn? | |
| And how do I put this into my shoes to walk? | |
| You know what's amazing to me, Christians? | |
| You know what I'm so encouraged about today? | |
| Is that the salvation that I have is allowing me to walk worthy to God with all pleasing. | |
| That God has taken someone like me, and He can be pleased with me. | |
| And that my life can have value of the Gospel. | |
| And that it can bear fruit! | |
| And that I can get to know Him, and know more about Him! | |
| Isn't that a wonderful thing? | |
| That's the prayer. | |
| And that's what being a progressive Christian is. | |
| Some of you today, the first bit of shoe leather you need to use is to come to Jesus Christ. | |
| Your shoe leather today needs to be to come to Christ. | |
| Jesus said, come to me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, I'll give you rest. | |
| Jesus said, he that comes to me, I'll in no wise cast him out. | |
| Maybe you need to be saved today. | |
| So put some shoe leather to it and come to Jesus Christ. | |
| Come by faith. | |
| Say, I'm going to take you at your word. | |
| If you promised, if I'll come to you, you'll save me. | |
| So I'm going to put my shoes to that and I'm going to come to you and let you save me. | |
| Would you do that today? | |
| As believers, many of us ought to walk out of here and our shoe leather should be okay, Lord. | |
| I know all of this. | |
| I've been saved. | |
| But I want to focus my walk now on being pleasing to You, being fruitful for You, and increasing in knowing You. | |
| And I want to walk this way. | |
| I want to order my life in these steps to focus it and have fruit. | |
| Maybe that's our shoe leather today. | |
| However God has spoken to you, I want you to respond to Him. | |
