How Can Jesus Healing The Faithful Woman Heal Us Too? - Luke 8:40-55 | God's Grace is Greater
| Copy link to current segment

Time Text
Hi and welcome to another God's Grace is Greater segment.
Today we are getting back into the Gospel of Luke.
We're in Chapter 8.
We're actually finishing Chapter 8 today with a powerful story of a woman who is healed by her faith.
And some other miracles that Jesus performs that you guys are going to be interested in.
Before we get into that though, if you're watching this channel, if you're watching this video over on YouTube, do me a favor.
I do a news show every day that I can't post on YouTube because YouTube censors the truth.
They don't allow people like me to post there.
there.
I have had a channel once on YouTube, if you're not aware, that had a pretty big following that they nuked out of existence and deplatformed back in 2020.
So I have to go on other platforms like Rumble and BitChute to post my daily news show.
So if you could go in the description of this video, click the link to Rumble or BitChute, and you're going to find all of my news videos are posted daily there.
So please do that.
It helps me out big time.
And I appreciate it to everybody watching on that YouTube channel where I'm trying to post other content that they won't censor, at least not yet.
So with that being said, though, let's get into our God's Graces Greater segment.
And we're picking up where we left off yesterday.
We left off with this incredible story of Jesus driving out a legion of demons, which was met with mixed reactions from those who had witnessed the miracle.
Most of the people, though, in the place where this took place, We're scared, and they let fear drive them to push away the Savior, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, the Messiah.
And we talked about that in yesterday's segment, and then we left off right where Jesus is leaving that area.
And we're picking up when Jesus returns to, I believe this is Galilee, where he's returning to, And he's returning to this incredible scene where there's people swarming him.
And we're going to talk about this story of a woman whose faith healed her.
And Jesus tells us about it.
And then some other miracles that Jesus performs.
And we're going to cover it all.
And we're doing this out of Luke chapter 8, verse 40 through 55.
The last part of chapter 8 we're going to get through here today.
And I hope you guys are ready.
Let's start.
It says...
When Jesus returned, the crowd welcomed him, for they were all expecting him.
Just then a man named Jairus came.
He was a leader of the synagogue.
He fell down at Jesus' feet and pleaded with him to come to his house because he had an only daughter about 12 years old, and she was at death's door.
While he was going, the crowds were nearly crushing him.
A woman suffering from bleeding for twelve years who had spent all she had on doctors yet could not be healed by any, approached from behind and touched the tassel of his robe.
Instantly her bleeding stopped.
Who touched me?
Jesus asked.
When they all denied it, Peter said, Master, the crowds are hemming you and pressing against you.
Someone did touch me, said Jesus.
I know that power has gone out from me.
When the woman saw that she was discovered, she came trembling and fell down before him in the presence of all the people.
She declared the reason she had touched him and how she was instantly cured.
Daughter, he said to her, your faith has made you well.
Go in peace.
While he was still speaking, someone came from the synagogue leader's house saying, Your daughter is dead.
Don't bother the teacher anymore.
When Jesus heard it, he answered him, Don't be afraid.
Only believe, and she will be made well.
After he came to the house, he let no one enter with him except Peter, John, and James, and the child's father and mother.
Everyone was crying and mourning for her, but he said, Stop crying, for she is not dead, but asleep.
They started laughing at him because they knew she was dead, so he took her by the hand and called out, Child, get up.
Her spirit returned and she got up at once.
Then he gave orders that she be given something to eat.
Her parents were astounded, but he instructed them to tell no one what had happened.
Now this is a powerful, powerful set of verses and it gives us these two stories that are connected in a very special and powerful way.
Now what do they both have to do with?
They both have to do with belief, faith.
The power of God and through His Son Jesus Christ our Lord is exhibited in these two stories through faith.
Now the first is a faith that is pretty incredible when you think about it.
There was a woman, imagine a woman who had had this affliction for over a decade where she had not been able to stop bleeding.
She was having this incredibly difficult time.
She had spent all of her money trying to find doctors to heal her and nobody could.
By this time, you can imagine a woman being depressed, angry, sad, alone.
A woman who felt like she had nothing left.
A woman who felt like she had been abandoned by the world and left to rot away.
And in this society, her affliction was especially a bad one, let's say.
Because not only was she afflicted with the physical ailment of her affliction, but she was also afflicted with the The structure of society at that time.
A woman in her position with her disease, whatever she had, her ailment, her affliction, she would have been seen as being ceremonially unclean.
So she would have been ostracized from society.
She would have been looked at as being So this woman has basically lost everything.
But she hears about a Savior and a Messiah.
Now, we don't really know exactly how she heard or what she had seen, or maybe she had heard a sermon.
Maybe she had heard of miracles being performed.
Maybe she had just heard the healing that his ministry had been doing.
But we do know one thing, that she had faith.
She had an amazing faith.
And when Jesus comes back, right, from across the, I believe it's the Sea of Galilee there, he's met by a huge crowd.
And the first thing that happens is this guy, Jairus, who is, you know, works in the synagogue, he's one of the leaders there, has a daughter who's very sick, and he's begging Jesus, come to my daughter's house and heal her.
So you have Jairus coming to ask for that healing.
And there's a crowd surrounding him because everybody wants to get a piece of Jesus.
They want to know, they want to have him heal them.
They want his blessing.
They want him to hear his sermons and speak.
And amongst this crowd, this woman who's had this affliction for over a decade, this sickness, She has the faith to reach out, and in her mind, and we read about this in other Gospels too, in her mind if she could just touch a tassel of his robe, she had the faith to believe that it could heal her.
Now in the midst of all this, she does, and it magically heals her, supernaturally with Jesus' power and authority over this world, heals her, and Jesus notices immediately.
He says, who touched me?
Of course, Peter's like, well, Messiah, there's a crowd of people here pushed in against you.
There's a hundred people who probably have touched Jesus at this point.
No, he says, Peter, who touched me?
And this woman realizes in that moment that she is not only healed, but Jesus knows that he healed her just by simply touching her.
And now, isn't that a beautiful story of faith?
The faith she had is the faith we should all have in our lives.
To believe that even if we cannot touch Jesus physically, even if there is no robe for us to touch, that if we can say a prayer and we can have that conversation and ask Him, He can do great things.
He can perform miracles right now, wherever you're at, whatever you're going through.
I know it because He's done it for me.
And He's done it for people I love.
And I can tell you right now that you're never too far gone for Jesus to intercede in your life and to save you from whatever affliction you're facing.
It may not come in the timeline you expect, and it may not come in the way you expect, but it will come in whatever form or fashion that's a part of God's plan for you.
Now it goes on here and it talks about Jairus and this incredible exchange where After Jesus tells this woman about how her faith made her well, he goes on to Jairus' house.
Now, he's confronted with a few things here.
First, the synagogue leader comes in and speaks to him, one of the fellow leaders of the synagogue.
He says, your daughter's dead.
What are you doing?
Don't bother Jesus anymore.
She's already dead.
Well, he says, when they hear this, what does Jesus say to Jairus?
He says, don't be afraid, only believe, and she will be made well.
Again, our faith is what saves us through Christ, our Lord.
They go to the house.
There's, in those days, ceremonially, if somebody passed, they would have people who would come and they would ceremonially wail.
They would even be paid to do it in some cases.
They would pay people to come and cry and grieve the loss of somebody.
It was a part of the tradition.
Well, Jesus walks in the door and sees these people after he tells the crowd to wait outside.
They're wailing and crying and playing their laments.
He says, what are you doing?
And they say, well, there's a dead girl in the next room.
What do you mean, what are we doing?
We're doing what we're supposed to be doing.
And Jesus says, stop crying.
She's not even dead.
And they laugh at him.
Can you imagine that?
They laugh at Jesus.
That's like our society today.
You know, a lot of people cast those who are not quite fully saved yet often say they're impossible.
You can't save that person.
They're unsavable, unsalvageable.
That reminds me of those who are laughing at Jesus saying, you can't save her, she's gone, she's dead.
Maybe you have a family member, a son or a daughter, a brother or a sister, a mother or a father or some other relation, a friend, that you want to be saved.
Does it ever feel like maybe...
When you tell people, I believe they can be saved, that you get laughed at, they say, no, you can't save them.
They're gone.
They're too far gone.
They're not.
And I'm telling you they're not because this is the example Jesus gives us here.
If this girl, Jairus' daughter, who's dead, is not too far gone, if you're still breathing, trust me, you are able to be saved.
And not just you, those you love.
The power of prayer is more powerful than you can ever imagine.
And the belief and faith that we have in God and Jesus can allow us to save those we love the most.
Believe that they can be saved because they can.
And it's never too late.
And it will never be too late until we're gone.
But until that day, there is always hope.
And I can tell you right now that if you do find that salvation, you're lucky enough to find that solace and peace from the grace of God that's given.
Then you'll know that even once we do depart from this world into the next, that we'll never be too far gone.
We will be saved.
So Jesus goes in and he tells the child to get up and she gets up.
And it's a beautiful story of faith.
And how powerful faith is.
And what faith can do.
In not just the lives of these people here that we read about, but in our own as well.
So I'm going to say a prayer, and then we'll wrap it up.
Lord and Heavenly Father, we pray that you'll help us have faith.
As Jairus had faith that his daughter could be saved by our Savior Jesus, As the woman who was afflicted had faith that if she just touched a tassel on Jesus' robe, she could be saved.
Lord, we pray that for whatever we're going through, both myself and all those watching and listening now and praying with us, that our belief and our faith will deliver us That it will give us what we need, but what's a part of your plan and your timing according to your will, not ours.
We thank you for that opportunity.
And we thank you most of all for our eternal salvation in Jesus' name.
Amen.
