	Meanwhile, we have West's insistence on John Mearsheimer doing a brilliant job of explaining what's going on in Ukraine.
	Journalists, even to Ukrainian ones.
	I understood immediately what he was doing.
	He was transforming war into a demonstration strategy into a message.
	What he's talking about is Putin inviting journalists to come and see how Russia has entrapped like 10,000 Ukrainian soldiers.
	So Mearsheimer is explaining what Putin's doing in that process.
	This was not a humanitarian gesture.
	It was an act of realist theater.
	The Kremlin was inviting the world to see what the West had long refused to acknowledge, that the Ukrainian army was trapped, exhausted, and losing ground, and that no amount of rhetoric from Washington or Brussels could reverse the military facts on the ground.
	Pokhrovsk had become the stage of collapse, a moment when political illusion met the hard edge of power.
	For months, Western analysts spoke of Ukrainian breakthroughs, of Russia's weakness, of turning tides that never turned.
	But by late 2025, the battlefield told a different story.
	Pokhrovsk, once a modest logistical hub in the Donetsk region, had become a crucible where strategic exhaustion converged.
	The Russian army, learning from its early mistakes, abandoned sweeping offensives in favor of slow, grinding encirclement.
	It was the classic logic of attrition.
	Destroy the enemy's capacity to fight, not his morale.
	Western planners misunderstood this.
	They treated war as a media contest, not a material one.
	Yet power, as I have said for decades, is measured not in narratives, but in the balance of capabilities.
	By inviting foreign journalists to witness Ukraine's encircled troops, Moscow was not courting transparency.
	It was asserting dominance.
	Putin compared Pokrovsk to Mariupol's Azovstal siege, signaling to Kyiv that the pattern of defeat was repeating itself.
	He understood that perception shapes diplomacy.
	Once the world sees a collapse, it becomes irreversible.
	The cameras would show tired soldiers, empty supply lines, and the futility of Western aid.
	And when that imagery circled the globe, the political calculus in European capitals would begin to shift.
	Realism, long buried under moral posturing, would reassert itself.
	The tragedy of Pokrovsk is not merely military, it is civilizational.
	The West's insistence on fighting for an unattainable victory has led to the disintegration of Ukraine's statehood and the erosion of Western credibility.
	The stage is set not by Russian propaganda, but by Western denial.

	Meanwhile, U.S. foreign policy in contention is Trump allowed to agree to a deal with China, but not with Russia or with Iran.

	The old comfortable world is not coming back.
	The young, if anything, are much more radical.
	U.S. foreign policy dreads into Hubris that the U.S. won the Cold War militarily in Afghanistan, won it economically, liberal markets, and culturally to Hollywood, and therefore rightly deserves it.

	Well, that policy is now in contention for the first time.

	This month, the RAND Organization Institute whose shadow is long laying across UN foreign policy matters has challenged the Cold War hubras in respect of China.
	Though the report focuses on American preoccupation with the threat of China's ascendancy, the implications of questioning the doctrine that no challenge to U.S. hegemony, financial or military, can be tolerated does not cut to the absolute heart of U.S. policy practice.
	The key finding from Rand: China and the U.S. should strive to achieve a modus vivendi together through each accepting the political legitimacy of the other.
	Constrained efforts undermine each other, at least to a reasonable degree.
	But as he observes, is that true with China?
	Why not with Russia and with Iran?
	Meanwhile, Russia has its first serial submarine to carry nuclear-powered cigar torpedoes.
	Today's a significant event for us.
	The heavy nuclear-powered missile cruiser Karakovovsk is being launched from the renowned Sevezmash shipyard.
	Defense Minister Andrei Belisov said after Navy Commander Admiral Alexander Mosev smashed an additional bottle of champagne into the hull of the submarine.
	The defense ministry confirmed that the new sub will carry robotic weapon systems for various purposes.
	The boy Zion is a post-doomsday weapon, unlike any ever seen in any previous arms race, formed like a giant torpedo.
	The weapon is nuclear-powered, nuclear-armed, and can allegedly travel down deep with intercontinental range.
	Little was known in public about the new sub before it was unveiled on Saturday.
	Construction started in July 2014, long before Russia's leader Vladimir Putin in 2018 announced his engineer with developing a nuclear-powered nuclear arm second strike unmanned robotic vehicle as opposed to travel across the Atlantic and Pacific to hit coastal targets in the United States.
	In other words, if the U.S. takes out Russia in a nuclear strike, for example, it ain't over.
	Russia's already got this automated submarine that's going to launch a second strike.
	And I understand they have other nuclear arsenals that are going to launch dead man switches, that sort of thing.
	So the whole idea, this is analogous to that doomsday weapon in Dr. Strangelove, except that the premier of Russia hadn't announced it yet.
	So everybody didn't know, and it brought about the destruction of the world.
	Everyone has to see the film.
	If you've never watched Dr. Strangelove, you have missed the single most important cinematic creation ever made by far.
	This is the most important movie of American of recent world history since film began to be made.
	This is the most important.

	I believe everyone in the world should be required to watch Dr. Strangelov once a year.

	Meanwhile, Europe could struggle to mobilize troops, you know, get its act together, arms in case of war with Russia.
	I mean, the whole idea is ludicrous.
	Europe would struggle to mobilize enough troops or quickly produce enough weapons in case of a direct confrontation with Russia.
	New report warned Tuesday.
	The French Institute of International Relations, a top think tank, highlighted Europe's weaknesses in the event of a high-intensity conflict with Russia, which the authors describe as a long-term threat.
	Europe needs to demonstrate political will in a coherent fantasomic strategy to prepare for a possible confrontation with Russia over the next five years.
	Said the report titled, Europe-Russia, Balance of Power Review.
	Have no doubt about it.
	There's no possible way Europe could equal or really even remotely begin to match what Russia could put together.
	Meanwhile, here's a report on the Army's M1 Abram tank, reporting that exists for just one purpose.
	These tanks were built for one purpose, to beat the masses of Russian tanks that would come during the Cold War.
	They were not built with drone threats in mind and must adapt.
	How are they going to adapt?
	It's impossible.
	In response, the Army is spending $108 million in 2026 on survivability, including 92 for top attack protection or what they're calling cope cages.
	However, existing active protection systems, like it's called Trophy, are not very effective against top-down strikes.
	And new laser defenses are proving challenging, leaving the fleet far from well protected, meaning they have no defense.
	So tank that was designed to go up with Russian tanks, and in my opinion, its performance record is miserable, is not going to be capable of defending itself from drones.
	Meanwhile, Israel, surprise, surprise, massively escalates drone strikes on Lebanon as Hezbollah threatened retaliation.
	I don't get Hezbollah.
	I don't know why the hell they didn't throw in against Israel long ago.
	It could have made a major difference.
	Israel's long-threatened escalation of their attacks on Lebanon seemed to have begun in earnest Thursday with massive numbers of strikes reported against several towns and villages in the country's south.
	The IDF issued evacuation warnings for at least five sites in southern Lebanon and is claiming, as they often do, everything they're attacking is Hezbollah infrastructure.
	It's like every Palestinian in Gaza is Hamas.
	I mean, that's their mentality.
	They're going to kill them all.
	Early indications are that a substantial number of civilian casualties have occurred.
	Surprise, surprise.
	The most recent toll has a confirmed kill and nine wounded, but they're expected to rise.
	Of course, they are going to rise and drop madly.
	Meanwhile, Jimmy Dore talks about actually sending to Israel.
	It's going to stagger you.

	Israel has cost the United States about $1.6 trillion.
	If divided by today's population, that's more than $5,700 per person.
	So, a lot of people try to say that they don't really care about Israel and it's only $3 billion a year.
