Jim Bakker Show - Be Prepared | Michael Snyder Aired: 2023-09-05 Duration: 02:26 === Government Rescue Failures (02:22) === [00:00:00] What happened during these fires and the devastation that followed was such a tragedy? [00:00:06] Why does this show the importance of being prepared? [00:00:13] Well, it shows the importance of being prepared. [00:00:14] Number one, if you expect the government to save you when something bad happens, which a lot of people think, oh, if there's something really, really bad that happens, the government's going to come in and rescue us. [00:00:24] First of all, everything that government did in Hawaii turned out badly, made things even worse. [00:00:30] I mean, utter incompetence or the alternative, if it wasn't incompetence, the alternative is far, far worse. [00:00:37] So, but everything the government did in Hawaii was wrong, was bad, was a bad decision. [00:00:42] So, that's people need to understand that. [00:00:43] Number one, number two, once the government comes in, well, the federal government's just giving them a one-time payment of $700. [00:00:51] What is that going to do? [00:00:52] These days, that's like two trips to the grocery store. [00:00:56] But then the government came in. [00:00:57] Now, Pastor Jim, originally the government came in and they surrounded the community and they kept out a lot of the private help. [00:01:05] A lot of private people, local residents, wanted to come in with food and supplies and whatever, generators. [00:01:11] They were trying to bring that stuff in to help the people. [00:01:14] They were kept out. [00:01:15] They're saying, keep away. [00:01:16] You're not allowed in. [00:01:17] Okay. [00:01:18] So the government comes in with food and water and whatever. [00:01:21] But then there were multiple reports of people getting sick from the water the government was getting them. [00:01:27] Not just sick, but violently ill from the water that the government brought in. [00:01:32] So that was real sketchy too. [00:01:35] So, you know, but that was government coming in. [00:01:38] So what this shows is that, number one, when something bad happens, use your common sense. [00:01:43] Number one, those that use common sense and didn't wait behind the barricade saved their lives. [00:01:48] Number two, don't believe that the government's going to save you because the government's not going to save you. [00:01:53] Number three, you want to be prepared ahead of time for any type of disasters or emergencies. [00:02:00] And then beyond that, even if you're prepared where you are, at some point where you are, you may not be able to stay there. === Be Ready to Go (00:19) === [00:02:08] It may become untenable for you to stay. [00:02:10] So you've got to be ready to go at a moment's notice, as the people in Lahaina found out. [00:02:15] You've got to be able to have your go bag. [00:02:17] You've got to be ready to go, get out and leave and have your important papers ready. [00:02:22] Have your go bag ready to go, ready to get in a vehicle, get out of there.
