Jim Bakker Show - Two False Teachings | Dr. R.T. Kendall Aired: 2023-09-04 Duration: 03:27 === What Will Hell Be Like? (03:27) === [00:00:00] So why is it more critical now than ever for us to be in the Bible, reading the Bible, to know what's happening and what's coming next? [00:00:11] Well, I just preached a sermon last week at Times Square Church in New York City. [00:00:22] What will hell be like? [00:00:25] That was the name of your message. [00:00:27] What will he help? [00:00:28] I should tell you that I go to Times Square Church once a month. [00:00:31] And the previous month, I preached a sermon, What Will Heaven Be Like? [00:00:35] And after I thought about it, I thought, I should preach a sermon on what will hell be like. [00:00:42] And I haven't preached on hell, I'm ashamed to say, but I haven't for 25 years or more. [00:00:47] I preached it all the time at Westminster Chapel, but I'm not a pastor now. [00:00:51] And so I don't go into churches and tell them, you know, about hell. [00:00:55] But this is a little different because I have a regular ministry there, but thanks to Pastor Tim Delina. [00:01:01] And he was thrilled with my sermon outline and since thrilled, it's on the internet. [00:01:06] You can get it. [00:01:07] You're good. [00:01:08] Go to YouTube. [00:01:10] But my point for mentioning it is that what has taken over a great portion of preachers today are two false teachings. [00:01:22] One, it's called annihilationism. [00:01:26] There are those who no longer believe in eternal punishment, but believe a person will be annihilated, which means as though you never were, as though you're gone, it's over. [00:01:38] Well, that's what the atheist hopes is true. [00:01:40] That's what the unbeliever hopes is true. [00:01:43] That there's no hell. [00:01:44] There's no hell. [00:01:45] And I'm sorry to say, but it swept over England. [00:01:48] It's sweeping over America. [00:01:50] And these are good people. [00:01:51] People, you'd know their names. [00:01:53] That's right. [00:01:53] I had a call this week. [00:01:55] People that I know from my lifetime said, oh, Jim, you can't believe there's a hell. [00:02:02] God wouldn't send anybody to hell. [00:02:04] I'm telling you, it's taken over. [00:02:06] Well, you're admitting you agree with what I'm saying. [00:02:09] Well, that will change because when the church is revived and this great awakening comes, there'll be an awareness that hell is real. [00:02:18] The other dangerous teaching is called open theism. [00:02:23] Now, a lot of people will never heard of that, but the idea is that God is open. [00:02:29] Whereas the Bible says he knows the end from the beginning, open theism is God doesn't know the future, but he looks to us for input. [00:02:37] Wow. [00:02:38] And so we're supposed to help God to know what to do next. [00:02:41] It virtually makes us equal with God. [00:02:43] We tell him what to do. [00:02:44] That sounds like today. [00:02:46] Well, I'm telling you, there are people, you would know their names. [00:02:49] You would say to me, RT, are you sure he believes that? [00:02:52] I'm not going to mention their names. [00:02:53] I don't want to get anybody in trouble, make anybody look bad. [00:02:55] But I'm telling you right now, there are those who actually teach that the purpose of prayer is to change God's will. [00:03:04] That's not true. [00:03:05] The purpose of prayer is to find out what God's will is. [00:03:08] That's right. [00:03:09] But we've changed. [00:03:10] That's right. [00:03:10] And we tell God what to do. [00:03:12] And the result is there is no fear of God in the church at all. [00:03:18] That's right. [00:03:18] No fear of God in the nation. [00:03:20] That's it. [00:03:20] No fear of God in the church. [00:03:22] This awakening will change that. [00:03:25] It's true. [00:03:26] It's true.
