Jim Bakker Show - 3 Requirements for Joshua | Lt. Gen. Jerry Boykin Aired: 2022-12-13 Duration: 02:06 === Mentorship and Mission (02:06) === [00:00:00] The three requirements you talk about for Joshua that give success, do you have those that you could give us? [00:00:07] Yeah, let me, I'm going to answer this a slightly different way, but I know what you're asking, and I want to tell you what I think was important that really made Joshua the man that he was. [00:00:19] The first thing is that he had a mentor. [00:00:22] And men, I'm telling you, men, if you're a Christian man today, you better be mentoring somebody. [00:00:28] You better be mentoring somebody. [00:00:30] It could be your family. [00:00:31] It could be someone, a friend or something. [00:00:33] But Joshua had a mentor, and it was the great man, Moses. [00:00:40] And Moses, he walked in Moses' footsteps, and he watched Moses, and he saw what Moses did. [00:00:47] So he had a mentor. [00:00:48] Every man needs a mentor. [00:00:50] Number two, he understood history. [00:00:56] He understood the history of the Israelites. [00:00:58] He understood enough to make sure that they knew their history. [00:01:02] Jim, one of the things that's happening in America today is we're losing our way because we don't know our history. [00:01:08] We don't teach our history. [00:01:10] And we've got to get back to teaching American history and talking about the sacrifices that have been made and talking about the things that America has done. [00:01:21] And then finally, the third thing was that as far as Moses was concerned, he was a man on a mission. [00:01:34] He was a man who had only one mission, and that was to lead. [00:01:39] And he focused on that, and he didn't get distracted. [00:01:43] And he didn't go off on tangents. [00:01:45] Oh, yeah, he had some failures. [00:01:49] You know, when they lost the battle of AI, and he laid down on the ground and he said, God, why did you bring us out of Egypt? [00:01:56] And what did God say to him? [00:01:58] Get up off your face and get back in this battle. [00:02:02] I'm still with you. [00:02:04] And he understood that.
