Jim Bakker Show - Understanding "WATCH" | Jentezen Franklin on The Jim Bakker Show Aired: 2022-07-14 Duration: 03:44 === Watch Your Words (03:44) === [00:00:00] What does watch stand for? [00:00:02] It stands, you know, Jesus was the one who said, he said it three times in the book of Luke. [00:00:08] I think it's the 21st chapter or 13th chapter, actually. [00:00:11] He said, watch, watch, and then he ends, watch you therefore. [00:00:16] And I say to one, I say to all, and he ends the chapter, watch. [00:00:20] So what does watch stand for? [00:00:22] Number one, in these days when you're feeling overwhelmed, watch your words. [00:00:27] W stands for words. [00:00:29] Watch what you say. [00:00:30] Death and life are in the power of the tongue. [00:00:32] The Bible said in Proverbs, if you think evil, put your hand over your mouth. [00:00:36] In other words, don't say everything that you think and you feel, but watch your words. [00:00:42] Number two, the A stands for attitude. [00:00:45] Watch your attitude. [00:00:47] Watch your, you know, your attitude is so important. [00:00:51] We can't be negative people. [00:00:52] We can't be people who are down all the time and whiny all the time and complain. [00:00:58] I want to say with some Christians, would you like some cheese with your wine? [00:01:02] Because all you do is whine, wine, wine all day. [00:01:07] And we ought to be praising. [00:01:08] We ought to be joyful. [00:01:10] We ought to put on the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness. [00:01:14] And then he said, and I go into much about the attitude. [00:01:19] And then the T stands for, on the word watch, temptations. [00:01:24] Watch your temptations. [00:01:25] You know, the scripture said, I was put over the vineyard of others and I didn't watch my own. [00:01:33] I didn't watch. [00:01:34] I didn't watch. [00:01:35] And temptation, you know, it just creeps into your life. [00:01:40] Compromise creeps in. [00:01:43] What you're looking at, what you're listening to, what you're feeding your mind on. [00:01:47] And I go into a lot of details of that. [00:01:51] The C stands for character. [00:01:53] Watch your character. [00:01:55] I thought when I, I'm about to turn 60 in a month. [00:02:01] And I thought the older I got, the easier it gets. [00:02:08] I was so wrong. [00:02:10] I was so wrong. [00:02:11] That's true. [00:02:12] You got to watch your character. [00:02:15] You really do. [00:02:15] Watch the older you get. [00:02:17] Most of the Bible characters fell after they were 50 years old. [00:02:22] Oh, no. [00:02:23] Most of them did because I think you let your guard down. [00:02:27] I think you stop doing the things that you knew. [00:02:30] Somebody told me, and I read this one time, that the people who go down the mountain, that's more dangerous than climbing the mountain, is going back down. [00:02:39] You fall easier going down than you do going up because you're tense, you're alert, you're making sure. [00:02:46] But when you start letting your guard down, so watch your character. [00:02:49] And lastly, the H stands for, and it's so important, watch your household. [00:02:54] In the end time, in the day in which we're living, what's on your kids' phones? [00:02:59] What's on your computers? [00:03:01] Watch your household. [00:03:04] Don't let culture raise your children. [00:03:07] Who are their friends? [00:03:08] Who are they dating? [00:03:10] Watch your household. [00:03:11] How's your marriage? [00:03:12] You know that me and my wife go get help when we need help. [00:03:16] We go talk to a counselor when we need. [00:03:20] Life is too deep. [00:03:22] Life is too heavy. [00:03:23] I don't have all the answers. [00:03:25] So why wouldn't I go get help if I need help? [00:03:28] Watch your household. [00:03:29] It's insane to think that stuff's going to get better if I do nothing. [00:03:35] It's not going to get better if you don't do something. [00:03:38] So do something. [00:03:39] That's right. [00:03:39] And watch your household. [00:03:42] Watch those kids. [00:03:43] Spend time with them.
