Jim Bakker Show - Letting Go of Bitterness and Unforgiveness | Denise Renner on The Jim Bakker Show Aired: 2022-06-15 Duration: 04:06 === Forgiving Those Who Put You In Prison (03:50) === [00:00:00] I want you, you talk about people holding on to bitterness when there's freedom in forgiveness. [00:00:09] And I've had to forgive those who put me in prison. [00:00:12] In fact, I didn't get out of prison. [00:00:13] God was very clear that I would not be released from prison until I forgave everyone. [00:00:20] And then he went further than that. [00:00:22] I had to forgive them from my heart. [00:00:25] Because if you didn't, Jim, this is what would happen. [00:00:29] Here it is, right here. [00:00:32] Okay. [00:00:33] If you're struggling in any way with unforgiveness, you need to deal with that root of bitterness. [00:00:41] Otherwise, it will be the wide open door leading to a defeated life, filled with feelings of rejection. [00:00:50] And that root of bitterness has got to be the most diabolical evil thing ever. [00:00:56] Talk about that. [00:01:01] Well, I told you that many years ago, I dealt with unforgiveness. [00:01:07] And I try to make it short, but you asked such a pointed question. [00:01:13] And so I was dealing with unforgiveness and bitterness. [00:01:19] I didn't know what to do with it. [00:01:21] I knew that Jesus was my answer, but I didn't have step one, step two, step three, step four. [00:01:28] And because I was in leadership, I didn't feel like I had anybody to talk to. [00:01:34] So then I was in isolation. [00:01:37] It's so bad. [00:01:38] It's such a trap. [00:01:40] And I became very fearful. [00:01:45] And to the point, I'm sorry to confess this all over television, but it's the truth. [00:01:51] I had three times where I had panic attacks, where I felt like the walls were closing in. [00:01:58] And I thought, I'm a Christian. [00:02:01] I'm a leader. [00:02:02] This isn't supposed to be happening to me. [00:02:07] And so great fear. [00:02:09] Fear in the morning, fear in the night. [00:02:12] And it was like the devil had a vice over my mind. [00:02:18] And so I knew that Jesus was my answer. [00:02:22] Actually, I didn't even know I had unforgiveness. [00:02:24] I just thought this person needed to change, and then my problems will be over, right? [00:02:28] That's it. [00:02:29] That's I mean, that's the truth. [00:02:32] That's the truth. [00:02:33] And then a man of God spoke to me, and I'm in the middle of my fight. [00:02:40] I mean, at that time, we were traveling on the road with our three sons. [00:02:45] And I remember one night, because I had a lot of sleepless nights, but this one particular sleepless night, I took a hold of the sink, and I said, because my hands are painfully cold all the time. [00:02:59] My feet are painfully cold all the time. [00:03:03] Fear, panic, and I'm living with this, and I'm a Christian. [00:03:09] And I took a hold of the sink and I said, God, I don't know why. [00:03:15] I don't know why this is. [00:03:16] I don't know what I'm going through, but I will not let go of you. [00:03:25] And it was after that, about two or three weeks after that, that this man of God, I'm so thankful for the gifts of the Spirit. [00:03:34] This man of God walked up to me and he said, he said, you're a very sensitive person. === 24 Hours, New Perspective (00:29) === [00:03:42] And he said, but do you have some broken places on the inside of you? [00:03:47] He said, in 24 hours, you're going to wake up in a different world. [00:03:52] In that 24 hours, I was able to see from a different perspective my situation, that I had unforgiveness, and I forgave that person. [00:04:04] I let them go free.
