Jim Bakker Show - Prayer and Revival - Gene Bailey Aired: 2021-11-19 Duration: 03:21 === Wants and Signs (03:20) === [00:00:00] Do you believe in angels? [00:00:01] Absolutely. [00:00:03] That's scriptural. [00:00:04] Let me tell you what. [00:00:05] You're talking about prayer. [00:00:07] You're talking about revival. [00:00:08] So can I go ahead and answer the question you're going to ask me? [00:00:12] The reality is in revival, the best way is to go back in history and just look at Charles Finney. [00:00:19] What most people, everybody talks about, oh, Finney was great. [00:00:21] Look at these books and all this stuff. [00:00:22] But what most people miss is Father Nash. [00:00:26] Daniel Nash went before Charles Finney. [00:00:28] When he went to a city, Nash would go, he would rent a place. [00:00:32] He would prefer to stay in the basement of a place, of a dwelling that had no windows, so that he could seek God before Finney ever arrived. [00:00:40] As soon as Finney arrived, he went to the next place. [00:00:43] So you cannot have revival without the commitment to prayer. [00:00:47] And what you're saying, Pastor. [00:00:49] I mean, that is the key. [00:00:51] That is the key. [00:00:53] You know, John Kilpatrick, Pastor John will tell you how long they prayed and had prayer meetings all night long. [00:00:59] That's it. [00:01:00] It's not that we're trying to convince God. [00:01:03] That's very key. [00:01:04] We're not trying to convince God, oh, please won't you do something? [00:01:06] Yeah. [00:01:06] You know, it's not that. [00:01:08] What we're trying to do is get ourselves in line, ready to leave. [00:01:10] That's it. [00:01:12] And when that happens, that's when we see God pouring out. [00:01:15] But we cannot just sit back and expect it to magically drop in and, wow, okay, great. [00:01:20] Yeah, I just want to come see some signs and wonders. [00:01:23] The signs and wonders aren't for the believer. [00:01:25] The signs and wonders are for the unbeliever. [00:01:28] They're signs to make you wonder. [00:01:31] So we have to have, I'm so glad what you're saying about prayer. [00:01:34] But the other aspect of what you said, Pastor Joe, is what we're seeing. [00:01:38] The reason I know this is the Third Great Awakening, pastors are coming together. [00:01:43] Do you realize the streams of ministry back in 2019, Kenneth Copeland was praying, and he said something that really just rang deep in me. [00:01:53] And he said, he was talking about word of faith. [00:01:57] We're not word of faith camp. [00:01:59] We're not a camp. [00:02:01] He said, it's time for the streams of ministry to come together. [00:02:05] Amen. [00:02:06] And I was like, that's it. [00:02:08] So that's what we're seeing. [00:02:10] What you're seeing in a local way right here is pastors coming together that maybe we don't agree on every little doctrinal point. [00:02:18] We agree Jesus is the Son of God and died on the cross for our sins. [00:02:22] That's where we've got to get to the point that we can walk in agreement. [00:02:26] Then we're going to see God move. [00:02:28] Yeah, that's excellent. [00:02:29] Your book, you talk about the Third Great Awakening. [00:02:33] Is that now? [00:02:34] Yes, we're stepped into it. [00:02:36] We're stepped into it. [00:02:37] So it's beginning? [00:02:38] Absolutely. [00:02:39] Wow. [00:02:40] Absolutely. [00:02:41] I want to be a part of it. [00:02:42] You are. [00:02:46] And, you know, you talk about everything you've been talking about this morning, whether it be signs and wonders or answers to prayer or pastors getting together. [00:02:55] This is all part of the Great Awakening. [00:02:57] People have a tendency, Jim, to think of revival as just signs and wonders. [00:03:02] You know, my friend Lance, and I know he's preached it here. [00:03:05] I saw him on your show. [00:03:06] Talking about the difference. [00:03:08] We don't want just a two-week meeting. [00:03:10] None of us that are believers want just a two-week glory and then it goes back to normal. [00:03:15] We don't. [00:03:16] Revival is never to go back to normal. [00:03:18] We want a reformation, which is changing the culture in our land.
