Eat For Your Gut
00:03:04
|
|
| During my sickness after the stroke, we spent a week at your house next door to you. | |
| We stayed with you. | |
| Absolutely. | |
| You ministered to us. | |
| We taught you how to eat. | |
| That's right. | |
| And literally, we'd go to restaurants and I'd say, no, I'm ordering for Jim. | |
| You're going to eat this. | |
| We're going to start with a nice salad with olive oil on it. | |
| And you're going to have some healthy carbohydrates, some healthy protein, some healthy oils, and always those good, healthy vegetables. | |
| You know what we found out? | |
| That eating could still be good. | |
| Yes. | |
| If you go to a restaurant, take Dr. Don't you know? | |
| We've learned. | |
| I've learned over the years, Jim. | |
| I mean, really, seriously, we ate at a Mexican restaurant once. | |
| Sure. | |
| We ate all different. | |
| Oh, the avocado is one of the most healing foods on the planet, guys. | |
| And you know what? | |
| I eat half an avocado every morning. | |
| Mary, do you cook? | |
| I do. | |
| She cooks. | |
| Yes, she does. | |
| I do cook. | |
| You do healthy things? | |
| I do, absolutely. | |
| You guys eat. | |
| I have the most incredible chicken rice. | |
| Soup with cilantro. | |
| With cilantro in it. | |
| I'm going to put these recipes in the future. | |
| Yeah, because I take the basmani rice. | |
| A little bit now. | |
| I get the basmani. | |
| I get the rice. | |
| I'm going to get you a fast book. | |
| And I put onions and cilantro with chicken stock and mushrooms, which mushrooms and let it simmer. | |
| Oh, my goodness. | |
| And he has some the other day, and he goes, this is the best soup I've ever had in my life. | |
| Where is it? | |
| You know, that's on this gut diet. | |
| And it's so easy. | |
| These are recipes that take many five minutes to make. | |
| Yeah, that bad. | |
| I mean the easy. | |
| Yes. | |
| And we put olive oil in our soup, which heals the gut. | |
| Or avocado oil. | |
| It soothes my gut. | |
| Sure, it does. | |
| And that's what's so important. | |
| We find that literally most every disease starts in the gut. | |
| When you heal the gut, it's amazing how, first of all, so many people with gut problems, gut bloating, gas, pain, constipation, diarrhea, how when they're gut bloating, bloating is huge nowadays, heartburn, indigestion, how when the gut heals, literally the whole body usually starts to improve and eventually will start to heal. | |
| Even with autoimmune diseases, even with brain fog, even those people with early and moderate dementia, we have had so much improvement, but especially appetite, appetite. | |
| So many people call and say, when I started eating these healing foods, and by the way, I wrote the book years ago, Let Food Be Your Medicine, but this is literally gut health. | |
| I have that book. | |
| Because gut health is the foundation of health. | |
| But it is amazing when you heal the gut, the whole body will heal. | |
| What's amazing to me, Don, is that one of the things that your book addresses is depression and anxiety. | |
| And that just sounds like, what would that have to do, you know, my gut with that? | |
|
Rampant Depression, Overcoming Together
00:02:18
|
|
| And I know people are struggling right now with those two things. | |
| Depression and anxiety is rampant right now. | |
| And folks, we don't have time to get into pity parties and depression. | |
| You don't have time to be depressed. | |
| Dr. Dunn, would you answer that question from your wife? | |
| Well, again, the Bible tells us that if you read Luke 21, 25, 26, and the Word of God says, and there will be signs in the sun and in the moon and in the stars. | |
| Again, we've seen these blood moons and everything. | |
| And on the earth, distress of nations with perplexity. | |
| It says the sea and waves roaring and men's hearts failing them from fear. | |
| Again, anxiety, depression, and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken. | |
| And again, we're in the last days. | |
| That's what people need to understand. | |
| By being in the last days, what is happening is anxiety and depression is rampant, even among the church. | |
| And the church is the light of the world. | |
| We're supposed to be the salt of the earth, and we have got to walk in that joy. | |
| And even during stressful times, even depressing times, we are the salt of the earth. | |
| We are the light of the world, and we are overcomers, and we will overcome. | |
| You know, when the disciples watched Jesus being crucified and put in the tomb, it appeared God abandoned them. | |
| They felt abandoned. | |
| They felt betrayed. | |
| They felt like, God, where are you? | |
| You made us all these promises and we just watched you die. | |
| I can't, you know, I can relate. | |
| Yeah. | |
| I can relate with them a little bit on how they must have felt. | |
| Betrayed, abandoned, all of those feelings of, God, what are you doing? | |
| I don't understand this. | |
| But then resurrection came. | |
| So out of the worst possible situation, God brings forth the most powerful, unexpected move of his spirit. | |
| And I have that expectation. | |
| It's coming. | |
