[00:00:00]  Sometimes the simple things in life is what brings the perspective back.
[00:00:04]  Just like this scripture.
[00:00:05]  I know if you read this before.
[00:00:07]  Let's read it together.
[00:00:08]  Psalms 23.
[00:00:10]  This is going to encourage you.
[00:00:11]  I know it encouraged me this morning on my drive here.
[00:00:14]  And it says this: The Lord is my shepherd.
[00:00:17]  I shall not want.
[00:00:18]  He makes me lie down in green pastures.
[00:00:21]  He leads me beside still waters.
[00:00:23]  He restores my soul.
[00:00:25]  He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
[00:00:30]  That right there gives you peace already.
[00:00:32]  Even though, this is for you.
[00:00:35]  This is why it grabbed me.
[00:00:36]  This is where at the beginning of this year, not only it felt, but we were going through this moment.
[00:00:43]  Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil.
[00:00:50]  For you are with me.
[00:00:52]  Your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
[00:00:55]  You prepare a table for me in the presence of my enemies.
[00:00:59]  You anoint my head with oil.
[00:01:02]  If I had time, I will break this down in the Hebrew and let you know that there's more to that scripture than just those nice words.
[00:01:09]  There's something about the anointing.
[00:01:11]  There's something that happens with the anointing that comes over your life that changes the trajectory of your circumstance.
[00:01:18]  Makes me think of one of my mentors, one of dad's inspiration in prison, R.T. Kendall.
[00:01:24]  He used to say, Don't let your circumstances change the faith in your life.
[00:01:28]  Instead, let your faith change the circumstances of your life.
[00:01:33]  It says, You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies.
[00:01:38]  You anoint my head with oil.
[00:01:40]  My cup runs over.
[00:01:42]  I love this one portion right here.
[00:01:44]  Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life.
[00:01:50]  And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
[00:01:54]  That scripture is for you today.
