Jim Bakker Show - The Day of Mutiny - Rick Renner Aired: 2020-09-04 Duration: 07:20 === The Final Revolt (07:02) === [00:00:00] The Bible tells us in 2 Thessalonians chapter 2 that at the very, very, very end of the age, there is going to be a revolt. [00:00:10] Really, it's the word mutiny in Greek. [00:00:12] It's going to take place all over the world. [00:00:14] It's happening in America, but it's not just in America. [00:00:17] It's happening right now in most of the Western civilization. [00:00:22] They're throwing off their standards and they're saying we're going to form a new world order, a new world. [00:00:28] They even call it a kinder and gentler world, which is a total joke. [00:00:32] There's nothing kind or gentle about it. [00:00:35] It's a world of revolution, bedlam, hysteria. [00:00:38] Just look at the nonsense that's going on in the streets across the world today. [00:00:44] We might say peace, peace, peace. [00:00:46] This is not an age of peace. [00:00:48] We are in the age of great disaster. [00:00:52] And actually, it's one age getting ready to give birth to another age. [00:00:58] And when one age gives birth to another age, it always has convulsions. [00:01:03] And right now we're going through convulsions as an age ends and another age is about to begin. [00:01:09] That's really where we are. [00:01:11] But you know, I want to read a verse to you, if I may, in 2 Thessalonians chapter 2. [00:01:15] I have my Bible. [00:01:17] Brother Jim and Laurie, if you need to interrupt me, just interrupt me. [00:01:20] But in 2 Thessalonians chapter 2, verse 1, the Apostle Paul said, now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together unto him. [00:01:30] So he's talking about the coming of the Lord. [00:01:32] And he says that you be not soon shaken in mind or troubled. [00:01:38] And here he says that just before the coming of the Lord, there will be lots of opportunity to be shaken in mind and to be troubled. [00:01:46] Well, today people are very shaken. [00:01:48] They're very, very shaken. [00:01:50] People are wondering, where are we prophetically? [00:01:54] How soon is the coming of the Lord? [00:01:55] What's going to happen next? [00:01:57] Is the Antichrist here? [00:01:58] Is he about to show up? [00:02:00] Where are we? [00:02:01] And people are very shaken. [00:02:02] And unfortunately, there's a lot of people that don't know the Bible. [00:02:05] And Brother Jim, it's so important people know the Bible. [00:02:09] And there's even a lot of preachers on television who don't know the Bible. [00:02:13] Maybe they know a little piece of the Bible, but they don't know enough to see the whole picture. [00:02:18] And so they're preaching things that really brings fear to people. [00:02:22] And when you understand the whole picture, God never gives you fear. [00:02:25] He's not in the business of giving fear. [00:02:27] That's just not what God does. [00:02:29] He will prepare us, but God never scares us. [00:02:33] And in this verse, Paul says, there's going to be opportunity to be shaken in mind and to be deeply troubled. [00:02:41] But then he says this in verse 3. [00:02:43] Listen to this. [00:02:45] Let no man deceive you by any means. [00:02:48] For that day shall not come except there come a falling away first and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition. [00:02:58] And when Paul says a falling away, in Greek it is the word apostasia. [00:03:04] And maybe you hear another word. [00:03:06] It's where you get the word apostasy. [00:03:08] But it's from the word apo, which means to step away It describes a definite break in time or in belief, and the word stasia from the word stasis, which means to stand. [00:03:20] When you put the two words together, it is a deliberate stepping away from something. [00:03:25] And in fact, it is the same word translated in the Old Testament Septuagint as the word mutiny. [00:03:32] And you find it in Joshua chapter 22, where it is literally translated a revolt, a rebellion, or a mutiny. [00:03:39] And in this verse, Paul says, at the very end of the age, before the whole thing is wrapped up, there is going to be a worldwide mutiny against God, where society as a whole will be so modified to think differently that it will believe that it's throwing off the shackles of past religious thinking. [00:04:01] They might even declare themselves to be progressive thinkers on the cutting edge of a new kind of thinking, a new day, a new way. [00:04:10] But in fact, in order for them to create this new world that they want, they have to cut free of the shackles of the past. [00:04:18] And those shackles to them are the teachings of the Bible, Judeo-Christian principles and ethics, a world that's going to try to throw all of that off. [00:04:28] And it will be a mutinous attitude toward God and anything that even smacks of God. [00:04:34] And the Bible says this has to happen worldwide before the man of perdition can be revealed. [00:04:42] Then when you go to verse 7, look what he says in verse 7. [00:04:45] This is amazing to me. [00:04:47] In 2 Thessalonians 2, verse 7, Paul says, for the mystery of iniquity doth already work. [00:04:54] Well, that is really important. [00:04:56] You know, today, if you listen to YouTube, and I listen to a lot of YouTube because I want to hear what people are saying, I'm amazed at some of the nonsense that some preachers are preaching. [00:05:07] The people are speaking conspiracy theories. [00:05:10] There's a conspiracy about this and there's a conspiracy about that. [00:05:13] And did you know such and such is involved in a conspiracy? [00:05:16] I mean, if you listen to all of this, it will totally shake you to your core. [00:05:21] Well, quit listening to all that craziness and listen to the Bible. [00:05:25] The Bible tells us there is a conspiracy. [00:05:27] There's a big conspiracy. [00:05:30] And it's this one in 2 Thessalonians 2, verse 7. [00:05:34] And Paul said the mystery of iniquity does already work. [00:05:36] The conspiracy was at work when Paul wrote that verse. [00:05:41] What is it? [00:05:42] Well, first of all, the word mystery describes something that is not evident. [00:05:49] It's hidden, or it is a covert operation. [00:05:53] You know how this really could be translated? [00:05:56] There is a covert operation happening right under our noses that most people are not aware of. [00:06:04] And the Bible calls it the mystery of iniquity. [00:06:07] That word iniquity is the Greek word anomia. [00:06:11] The word nomos is the word for law, established standards of the scripture. [00:06:17] You put an A on the front. [00:06:19] It's the effort to remove all those standards, to remove the word of God, to throw off those shackles. [00:06:25] And the Apostle Paul is saying, even in the first century when he was writing this verse, there already was a diabolical plan at work, at work, to begin modifying the world step by step, decade by decade, century by century, changing the world from the world that was then to a world that will not know the Bible. === World Confused, Lawless Morally (00:32) === [00:06:51] Talk to the younger generation today. [00:06:53] They don't even know the Bible. [00:06:55] A world that does not know what is right and wrong. [00:06:57] That's a lawless world. [00:06:59] Now, today we have rioting in the streets and the looting to buildings. [00:07:03] That's lawlessness. [00:07:04] But the word lawlessness here doesn't really mean anarchy. [00:07:07] It just means a world that is free of law. [00:07:09] They have thrown it off. [00:07:10] They don't want to be told anymore what's right, what is wrong. [00:07:14] A world that is so confused, so confused morally, it won't know what's right and what's wrong.
