[00:00:00]  You know, your book came out a few weeks ago.
[00:00:02]  Yeah.
[00:00:03]  And I hope everybody reads it.
[00:00:05]  And you have become, I hope I don't insult you by calling you an evangelist because you have become a preacher.
[00:00:14]  You are preaching the gospel with everything that you do.
[00:00:18]  Amen.
[00:00:19]  And I tell you, I just love what you did at the Rose Garden.
[00:00:24]  Yes.
[00:00:25]  And I'm still overwhelmed by it because I've been going to the White House for decades and decades.
[00:00:35]  Ronald Reagan, I used to go all the time there.
[00:00:38]  And it was amazing.
[00:00:40]  I never saw to the world any preachers preach what you did in that moment.
[00:00:50]  And then you took over.
[00:00:52]  And why were you there?
[00:00:54]  Why were you at the White House that day?
[00:00:56]  You were invited for.
[00:00:57]  Yeah, there's a little backstory on that, which I'll tell here.
[00:01:00]  I think this might be the first time told nationally.
[00:01:04]  But since that White House, by the way, I've done 91 interviews from all the way across the country from everybody.
[00:01:12]  But here, so I've been busy every day since.
[00:01:15]  But what happened was, is when we started making the mask, I got an email from the White House and from the vice president's office.
[00:01:24]  And they said, they go, you know, Mike, would you come to a roundtable event we're having?
[00:01:30]  And I said, sure.
[00:01:31]  Well, then it said, could you write some remarks about what your company's doing to help during the pandemic?
[00:01:37]  And I thought, well, that's strange.
[00:01:39]  I've been into a roundtable back in 2017 with the president for a Made in America thing.
[00:01:44]  You just sit around a table.
[00:01:46]  And I said, so I wrote down what we did and, you know, just typed it all up or whatever and sent it in to get approved.
[00:01:54]  I thought, that's weird.
[00:01:55]  I told my couple of people I was with.
[00:01:57]  I said, oh, it don't matter.
[00:01:58]  Just put some notes down there.
[00:01:59]  I said, I'm not going to go by that script anyway.
[00:02:02]  You sit around a table and talk.
[00:02:04]  Well, anyway, we got there.
[00:02:06]  We got there and I get into the White House and we go to this room.
[00:02:11]  I got there early and I got in there to the roundtable and there was like five CEOs, four other CEOs and me and the vice president and a couple other people on the end.
[00:02:24]  And we started going around the table and he says, what are you guys doing?
[00:02:27]  What have you heard out there?
[00:02:29]  You know, trying to grab what every, you know, what's going on?
[00:02:32]  How much can you make and all this stuff?
[00:02:34]  Well, then the president came in and he sat down and he goes, he says, he kind of went around the table again.
[00:02:40]  Well, nobody was taking out their paper.
[00:02:42]  I had my paper ready and I'm going, okay, I guess, you know, I was right.
[00:02:46]  Nobody's going to read their thing.
[00:02:48]  And he goes up to leave and to go in the other room.
[00:02:52]  And I grabbed the vice president.
[00:02:53]  I said, how come we didn't read our papers?
[00:02:56]  And he said, well, Mike, he said, those were for the Rose Garden.
[00:02:59]  And I said, we're going to be bringing you out there.
[00:03:02]  And you might be called up.
[00:03:03]  You might be called up.
[00:03:04]  So we went in the other room and the president's talking to these other CEOs.
[00:03:09]  And they're sitting there was right next to the room, right next to the Oval Office.
[00:03:12]  And I just got it.
[00:03:13]  It felt like it came from God.
[00:03:15]  I said, you know what?
[00:03:16]  As long as I get to talk out there, I'm going to write something, give people a message of hope.
[00:03:22]  I didn't just want to brag up on what my pillow's doing, what they had told us to send in.
[00:03:27]  I mean, I don't need to, I do stuff, but it's a blessing just to help people.
[00:03:31]  But I wrote on the back of the page, and this is the actual sheet that I wrote here.
[00:03:37]  If you see, if you can see that, all that writing, I mean, I have arrows.
[00:03:41]  I have arrows going down to start here and go down to here.
[00:03:44]  I kept crossing stuff off.
[00:03:46]  And I was doing it so fast because we were the president, and I was already looking at his speech that he was going to read out there.
[00:03:53]  And I was going to recopy this on another sheet of paper.
[00:03:55]  And all of a sudden, they go, Well, come on, you guys, we're going to go seat you out in the Rose Garden.
[00:03:59]  And I'm going, my prayer as I left there and walked out was, God, please let me read my writing and we got out, and I'm sitting.
[00:04:12]  They seat me right in front of the president, the vice president to my right.
[00:04:16]  Now, we didn't even know what we were going to do or how this was going to go.
[00:04:20]  And by the way, I had been so busy, I hadn't watched any of these press conferences, so I had no idea what was going on.
[00:04:27]  And I didn't know how big the audience was.
[00:04:29]  I didn't know it was basically a worldwide audience.
[00:04:32]  Well, when the president called me up, I went straight up to the podium, and I guess we were all supposed to go around on the left.
[00:04:40]  So that, but then they stopped the other guys from coming up.
[00:04:44]  So at that moment in time, it was just myself and the president.
[00:04:48]  And as I read it, and I turned to him and I said, Can do you mind if I say something or read something or say something off the cup?
[00:04:58]  And he goes, Okay.
[00:05:01]  Sure.
[00:05:03]  And this is, and then I read it.
[00:05:05]  And I guess you guys have the footage for that.
[00:05:08]  But I read it and I didn't realize how big of a thing it was going to be.
[00:05:14]  But I'll tell you, when I went back into the White House, the vice president came up to me and he was like, almost like in speeches.
[00:05:21]  He goes, Mike, he said something like you've opened up the heavens.
[00:05:24]  He goes, he was like, just, it would just make whatever he said, it made me feel good because I thought, did I talk right?
[00:05:32]  My voice was a little hoarse because I had had vocal cord surgery just 10 days earlier, very serious surgery where I couldn't speak for a week.
[00:05:42]  So I was kind of hoarse up there, but I just didn't know if I had done something I should have done.
[00:05:48]  But he assured me, this is the best thing ever.
[00:05:51]  And when I left the White House, I had 750 text messages.
[00:05:58]  I didn't know that many people had my phone number.
