=== Ancient Israel's Fall and Mercy (05:48) ===

[00:00:00]  What did you did you see something at that time?
[00:00:02]  If we didn't listen to that, what would happen next?
[00:00:07]  Yeah, well, we did exactly what ancient Israel did in its last days.
[00:00:12]  Ancient Israel had seen this long decline from God, this long falling away.
[00:00:17]  And then he, in his mercy, allows the hedge of protection to be lifted on the nation and he allows the strike to come to shake it up.
[00:00:24]  And that people will come back to God.
[00:00:26]  And again, you're right.
[00:00:27]  In the first days after 9-11, everybody was flocking to churches, but without any repentance and without repentance, there is no revival.
[00:00:36]  If you don't turn your course, so what happened is instead of getting better, coming back, America got worse.
[00:00:42]  I mean, look at where it was then, 2001.
[00:00:44]  Look at where we are now.
[00:00:45]  Look at our culture.
[00:00:46]  Look at all these things.
[00:00:47]  You know, we are watching.
[00:00:49]  The word harbinger means something that is yet to come.
[00:00:52]  So what the harbinger is saying is that 9-11 and all that, that's a harbinger, not just signs, but harbingers of more of what is yet to come.
[00:01:02]  There's a biblical template.
[00:01:04]  And the point is, there's a mercy in it as well.
[00:01:09]  I was on a television program and people are praying for the virus, the plague, and it's right.
[00:01:15]  We need to pray for that.
[00:01:17]  But the idea is not to pray so that things could just have prosperity again.
[00:01:21]  The point is to pray that God's will will be done through all these things.
[00:01:26]  And that is, it is in his mercy.
[00:01:28]  C.S. Lewis spoke about the severe mercy of God.
[00:01:31]  It's his mercy that is for this, because when we were the way America was before this calamity was not good.
[00:01:39]  We were racing away from God.
[00:01:41]  The culture was racing.
[00:01:45]  We're doing what ancient Israel did.
[00:01:47]  So the Harbingers were saying that everything that Israel did, the signs that appeared then, have now appeared.
[00:01:53]  And the signs were a nation rising up, not in repentance, but in defiance.
[00:01:58]  And so we've done all those things and all those things were manifested, defiance, defiance.
[00:02:03]  Well, where does that lead?
[00:02:06]  Well, it's right there in the Harbinger.
[00:02:08]  Jim Laurie, there's a chapter in the Harbinger called Things to Come.
[00:02:12]  And when I looked at that, again, things to come, let me just give you a little bit from it.
[00:02:18]  And then we can go into it.
[00:02:20]  It said at one point, Nouriel asked the prophet, what happens next?
[00:02:25]  If the first stages of the pattern has come true so precisely, what happens after that?
[00:02:31]  And the prophet answers, as long as Israel continued its descent, the judgment continue or the shakings and the warnings continue.
[00:02:40]  And so in the years after 9-11, you have this period where you have this.
[00:02:45]  There's actually, let me read to you words of a commentary on ancient Israel, Isaiah 9-10, about that whole thing.
[00:02:53]  And look what it says.
[00:02:54]  Listen to what it says.
[00:02:56]  And it's in the Harbinger.
[00:02:57]  It says, as the first stage of judgments, this is from a commentary on ancient Israel from Harbinger, has been followed by no true conversion to Jehovah, the Almighty Judge, there comes a second.
[00:03:12]  So if the first stage doesn't lead to repentance, there will come a second judgment.
[00:03:18]  Now, listen to the second shaking.
[00:03:21]  Listen to the, here's another commentary on Isaiah 9, 10, the Harbinger scripture on ancient Israel, but look at how it applies to America.
[00:03:29]  Listen, it says this, that which God designs in striking us to turn us to himself and to cause us to seek him.
[00:03:41]  If this does not happen by lesser judgments, greater judgments may be expected.
[00:03:48]  Now, that is in the chapter on things to come.
[00:03:53]  And then the man Nouriel asks, are you talking about more calamities?
[00:03:58]  And says, yes, how will it come?
[00:03:59]  The prophet says in the harbinger, they will take they may take the form of economic disintegration or defeat, disorder, division, the collapse of infrastructure, man-made calamities, calamities of nature, decline, and fall.
[00:04:15]  And in the case of a nation that's been so greatly blessed by God's favor, like America, it means the withdrawal of those blessings.
[00:04:23]  The withdrawal, it says the withdrawal of prosperity, protection, and peace.
[00:04:28]  Now, listen to one more thing here.
[00:04:30]  There's far more to say, but one thing about this: it says, in the case of a nation like America, that has been preeminent among all the nations, it means the collapse, a collapse, but it means the removing of the crown.
[00:04:43]  So the prophet speaks of shaking and the crown.
[00:04:47]  Well, in Latin, the word for crown is corona.
[00:04:51]  That's true.
[00:04:53]  I do know that.
[00:04:55]  That's shocking.
[00:04:57]  I was just following along with you in my in the harbinger.
[00:05:01]  Actually, this believe it or not, this is amazing.

[00:05:16]  That's we have them to it's a sound of alarm.

[00:05:20]  It's it goes up and it goes on.
[00:05:22]  You know, if you read Isaiah, you know, the harbinger scripture is Isaiah 9:10.
[00:05:28]  But Isaiah 9:11 goes further.
[00:05:31]  The next verse, 9:11, says, Therefore, the Lord shall set up the adversaries against him.

[00:05:38]  They shall devour Israel with an open mouth.
[00:05:42]  For all this, his anger is not turned away, but his hand is still stretched out.
[00:05:48]  So, in other words, because they didn't come back, it says that it's going to continue shaking the land.
[00:05:54]  And then it goes, The land is burned up.
[00:05:56]  What will you do in the day of punishment?
[00:05:59]  And then, this is all from this Isaiah, and this is the Harbinger in the desolation which is going to come.
[00:06:06]  So, in the Harbinger, the man asks the prophet, is it a prophecy of national destruction?
