Jim Bakker Show - 3 Notes For The Church On The Coronavirus - Dennis Shearer Aired: 2020-03-05 Duration: 02:58 === Lack Of Public Preparation (02:17) === [00:00:00] And what do you think about the coronavirus? [00:00:05] What is it saying to you as a biblical person? [00:00:08] Well, I think when we look at this book, The Great Influenza, I just want to leave today with these three thoughts because I think we're answering right now the three concerns that I see in this book. [00:00:20] Number one, when you read this story, and I had a cousin who died in 1918 from the, you know, she was infected on a trolley car in New York City. [00:00:27] Really? [00:00:29] Three things. [00:00:29] Number one was a lack of preparation, particularly public preparation. [00:00:35] Now, preparation is two levels, accurate knowledge and right tools. [00:00:40] Number two, there was a lack of clear communication. [00:00:43] And number three, there was a lack of a strategic recovery plan. [00:00:47] See? [00:00:47] And what we're talking about on this show today is the lack of preparation as far as public preparation. [00:00:53] We're putting knowledge today in people's hands. [00:00:56] That's right. [00:00:56] We're also putting tools in people's hands. [00:00:59] Secondly, we're trying to give clear communication as to the state of things, not causing people to fear, but to be on alert. [00:01:06] And there's a difference between panicking and being on alert. [00:01:09] You can be on alert without panic to fear, but we need to be on high alert. [00:01:14] This is high alert. [00:01:16] And thirdly, most importantly, which maybe we'll talk about another show, is the lack of a strategic recovery plan. [00:01:22] What do you do? [00:01:22] And even as Tucker Carlson just shared, what do you do when that many are infected? [00:01:27] And this is going to go on for a couple of years. [00:01:30] So anyway, that's what I'm seeing. [00:01:32] And I think the church, particularly this ministry right now, we need to be on high alert to say, let's counter those three things. [00:01:39] And I think we're doing, I think, Jim, you're doing a great job. [00:01:42] And this ministry is doing a great job to provide the solution that was missing in the Great Influenza. [00:01:48] Am I wrong when I say the church should be in the middle of any problem America has? [00:01:53] We are the hope of the world. [00:01:54] We are the solution to the deal. [00:01:56] We should be from a place of security and peace informing this in the middle of this tumult. === Lack of Accurate Communication (00:56) === [00:02:02] We should be saying, here's the proper communication. [00:02:07] Here is the right knowledge to the best we understand it. [00:02:10] And here's some tools. [00:02:11] Here are some tools. [00:02:12] We're talking about putting the solution. [00:02:15] We're talking about the meals. [00:02:17] The silver gel. [00:02:18] We're talking about, again, going back to this book, I looked at it again last night and then today, the lack of preparation, and that's knowledge and tools, the lack of accurate communication and a strategic recovery plan. [00:02:31] That's what I've taken out of this. [00:02:32] And I mean, I'm not old enough to have known that cousin, but I know that my cousin died, she was three years old, on a trolley car in New York City, people coughing and hacking all around her that were let go from a hospital, not properly treated, and she died three days later. [00:02:48] So I think that this ministry right now, particularly everything we've mentioned today, is pointing hope and direction to those that hear what's going on. [00:02:58] We should be on high alert.
