Jim Bakker Show - A Putrid Scent - Kevin Jessip on The Jim Bakker Show Aired: 2018-05-22 Duration: 03:16 === The Spirit of Babylon (03:08) === [00:00:00] I think what we're seeing, and my wife doesn't like it when I say this, but it's like this putrid stench in the nostrils of a holy God. [00:00:09] It really is. [00:00:10] And the world is drunk with the spirit of what I call mystery Babylon, Babylon. [00:00:17] And Paul referred to it a minute ago. [00:00:20] But Mystery Babylon is really a way of thinking. [00:00:24] So when you're intoxicated, you think you can do anything. [00:00:29] That's right. [00:00:29] And that's what we saw the other day. [00:00:32] There is nothing as sad as watching a drunkard make a fool of themselves. [00:00:37] True. [00:00:37] And this is what we saw. [00:00:39] So we see, and Paul referred to it in Genesis 10 and 11, when Nimrod literally defies God with this same rebellious spirit of Babylon. [00:00:50] We're seeing this spirit of Babylon rising up again. [00:00:54] And so there's a Hebrew word called kodesh. [00:00:57] It means holy. [00:00:59] It means set apart. [00:01:01] And so this reminds me of Daniel, who was with his three young Hebrew men, and they set themselves apart. [00:01:09] You know, there was 120 that went in, but there was only those four that set themselves apart. [00:01:15] And they were what I call the righteous remnant. [00:01:19] They didn't drink the wine of the harlot Babylon. [00:01:22] They didn't get drunk with that thing. [00:01:24] They stood apart. [00:01:26] And this is what we're called to be now. [00:01:28] We're called to be light in the darkness. [00:01:31] And what we're seeing is this spirit of Babylon. [00:01:35] Today, they say that you have to have social justice. [00:01:38] We have to be inclusive, coexist, have no boundaries, no walls, no borders. [00:01:44] And in our political correctness, let's erase the boundaries of sex and marriage and do whatever we like. [00:01:52] Paul referred to that. [00:01:53] Kevin, don't the church need the gifts of the Spirit? [00:01:57] Because there's not much discernment out there. [00:02:00] It's like Exodus 32. [00:02:02] We're seeing the Aarons with the golden calves everywhere. [00:02:06] And so this is, we're talking about people that in Aaron's day when Moses was coming down, he actually saw the people dancing in a naked delirium around this golden calf. [00:02:18] And he said, what are you doing? [00:02:20] And Aaron said, who was the high priest? [00:02:22] He said, well, I just threw the gold in and out came this calf. [00:02:28] Well, and this is the compromise that we see inside the church today. [00:02:33] We have Aarons who Ezekiel said, man of God, I gave you a word to preach. [00:02:39] And if these people die in their sin and iniquity, the blood is on your hands. [00:02:44] And so to preach the word of God like you're doing with your messages, Jim, is so crucial in this hour because we have a responsibility as people of God to speak the pure word. === Through the Tomb First (00:23) === [00:02:57] It's not just, oh, let's come to the cross. [00:03:01] It's go through the cross, lay on it, be nailed to it, because you can't, there's no such thing as a painless Pentecost. [00:03:08] You can't have an upper room experience until you've gone through the tomb first to be risen in the resurrection power of the Holy Spirit. [00:03:15] That's right. [00:03:16] You have to have God.
