Jim Bakker Show - The voice of God saved my life! - Evangelist Alveda King on The Jim Bakker Show Aired: 2018-02-22 Duration: 02:06 === Voice Of Jesus Saves (02:06) === [00:00:00] When I heard this report and I sat there and I said, okay, my publicist Diane Rogers and I were talking. [00:00:07] You saw us in the picture with the president. [00:00:09] And I said, you know, she says, in King Truth, didn't you talk about how God spoke to you and saved your life? [00:00:17] She says, tell that. [00:00:18] And it's here. [00:00:18] It's in the full account. [00:00:19] It's here. [00:00:20] So you're crazy. [00:00:21] So that's it. [00:00:22] So I said, you know, I was driving home and it was in a storm and a tree limb actually fell on my car with a live wire. [00:00:30] And so I was immediately, I just, I heard a voice, honestly. [00:00:34] I said, oh, Jesus. [00:00:35] And I heard a voice say, be still and know that I am God. [00:00:41] Now, that's scripture. [00:00:42] That's in the Bible. [00:00:44] So I heard, and I just stopped right there. [00:00:46] My foot actually was on the brake and it stayed there. [00:00:48] But I just sat there. [00:00:49] I don't know how long. [00:00:51] And I touched nothing because this was a long time ago in the 70s and the cars were more metal. [00:00:57] The instant responders showed up. [00:00:59] They said, ma'am, they knocked on the window and they used something to open the door. [00:01:04] They said, are you all right? [00:01:05] I said, yes. [00:01:06] Ma'am, if you had touched anything on this car, you would be dead. [00:01:10] Because that live wire would have become a conduit. [00:01:14] Everything would have fried me. [00:01:16] And so then I remembered the Holy Spirit spoke to me right then and said, your uncle in his famous sermon, A Knock at Midnight, said, I heard, Martin Luther King Jr., I heard the voice of Jesus say, Martin Luther King, stand up for truth, stand up for justice. [00:01:39] And lo, I will never leave you, even unto the end of the earth. [00:01:42] My uncle said he heard the voice of Jesus. [00:01:46] So was Uncle M. L. crazy? [00:01:48] I don't think so. [00:01:49] No. [00:01:50] And he stood up. [00:01:51] He stood up for truth and justice. [00:01:52] He began from that day on because as a young man, he challenged his daddy's religion. [00:01:57] He studied all the religions of the world and God, this, God, that. [00:02:01] But that day, God became so real to Martin Luther King Jr.
