Jim Bakker Show - Loneliness - Pastor Jim Bakker Aired: 2017-12-04 Duration: 05:16 === Pain Of Loneliness In Prison (05:04) === [00:00:00] But you know, I told you that story earlier, Sue, when you were singing of how this old people's choir came to the prison one Christmas, and they sang, I'll be home for Christmas. [00:00:18] I saw inmates crying because they would never be home. [00:00:24] They were lifers. [00:00:26] The pain of prison has never left me. [00:00:30] I don't think it's going to leave me till heaven. [00:00:33] It's so etched in my heart. [00:00:38] But the good thing is just like your house. [00:00:44] You can feel for that person who's out of their house, who's lost their home. [00:00:50] People just say, well, the storm's gone. [00:00:53] The flood's gone. [00:00:55] But in Houston, nobody's hardly back in their houses yet. [00:01:00] And you're working fast. [00:01:02] You've got friends helping now. [00:01:04] You, Mary Ann Markarian, the Lord. [00:01:07] A daughter, yes. [00:01:09] So the pain, the loneliness of pain. [00:01:19] Give me that book right there. [00:01:21] There's ten books that came to me in prison. [00:01:25] This is one of them. [00:01:26] You see, it's a mass now. [00:01:28] Through the wilderness of loneliness. [00:01:32] Don't try to buy it. [00:01:34] It's out of print. [00:01:36] You know what's the saddest story about this book? [00:01:38] I'm going to tell it. [00:01:41] This man, he fell off a mountain. [00:01:43] He was a guide, a guide in the mountains, a wilderness guide. [00:01:48] He fell and broke his spine somehow, and the pain never left him. [00:01:54] And his wife divorced him because she couldn't live with this pain in him. [00:02:02] So the publishers, when they found out that he had gotten a divorce, it was a Christian publisher, so they couldn't have a divorced author. [00:02:15] So they pulled every one of these books off the store shelves. [00:02:21] I want to read just a little bit. [00:02:23] The pain of loneliness is one way in which God gets our attention. [00:02:27] So see what God wants to teach you through it. [00:02:32] When I reached page 23 in my prison cell, the times I was saying, God, where are you? [00:02:41] Have you left me? [00:02:46] It's like everybody walked away. [00:02:50] When I was on top, everybody came in. [00:02:55] He says in here, a friend comes in when the world goes out. [00:03:02] I didn't lose any friends when I went to prison. [00:03:05] I found out who they were, though. [00:03:08] I want you to listen to something. [00:03:10] Tim Hansel wrote this book. [00:03:15] One of the top 10 books in my life. [00:03:20] He kept journal because he fell off a mountain. [00:03:22] He was living in constant pain. [00:03:27] And this is from his journal. [00:03:30] You know, they say misery loves company. [00:03:34] Loneliness. [00:03:35] Do you know the solution to loneliness? [00:03:38] Find another lonely person and get together and start talking. [00:03:44] A real friend sticks closer than a brother. [00:03:49] God says a friend loves at all times, but a brother is born For adversity, or, as I say, trouble, warfare, or loneliness. [00:04:04] That's the kind of friends I want. [00:04:06] I want friends that come in when the world goes out. [00:04:10] Listen to this from Tim Hansel's journal. [00:04:16] I'm reading this in my prison cell, Mondo. [00:04:18] Think of that. [00:04:20] The loneliness was so bad tonight that it sucked all the oxygen out of the room. [00:04:28] It was so intense it felt like it could peel the paint off the wall. [00:04:35] Have you ever been that lonely? [00:04:39] I have. [00:04:42] Five years locked up. [00:04:46] Don't feel sorry for me. [00:04:48] I got to know Christ in the intimacy of the wilderness. === God's Bond (00:26) === [00:04:54] And God said, I brought you here, Jim, not to punish you. [00:04:58] I did that on the cross. [00:05:00] I got even on the cross. [00:05:02] I brought you here to get to know me. [00:05:06] And I created and I felt and he gave me a bond with him that has never left me. [00:05:14] He did not walk away.
