Jim Bakker Show - Recent Events - Steve Strang on The Jim Bakker Show Aired: 2017-11-02 Duration: 05:10 === North Korea's Shadow (05:04) === [00:00:00] What should the President do about North Korea, do you think? [00:00:02] Just for students. [00:00:04] He needs to be strong. [00:00:07] America has been weak going back to the Jimmy Carter era. [00:00:11] Now, North Korea, we fought a war. [00:00:13] Do you remember that? [00:00:14] A Korean war? [00:00:15] And the war has never really been settled. [00:00:18] I mean, they had that demilitarized zone. [00:00:21] And look at the difference between communism, which has beat its people on the ground. [00:00:27] You know, there are stories that they've killed millions of their own people. [00:00:31] There's famine all the time. [00:00:33] And look how prosperous South Korea is. [00:00:36] I mean, aren't most of our smartphones made in South Korea? [00:00:40] And how many South Korean car companies are over here now? [00:00:44] I mean, I've been to South Korea three times, and it's a very prosperous country. [00:00:50] But what happened with North Korea is that we have taken this attitude of we'll talk, but we won't do anything. [00:00:58] And you know what? [00:00:59] There's this whole thing about good cop and bad cop. [00:01:02] You know, sometimes you've got to keep your enemy a little bit off guard. [00:01:06] They don't know exactly what you're going to do. [00:01:08] And I think that that's what Trump is doing. [00:01:11] There's no way that North Korea could beat us in a war. [00:01:14] There's no way. [00:01:15] About all they could do is explode a bomb and kill a bunch of our people, kind of like 9-11, that type of thing. [00:01:21] And of course, we don't want that to happen at all. [00:01:24] The scary thing is if it pulled the world into a nuclear war, that would be much, much bigger than just North Korea. [00:01:32] But I believe that North Korea will back down. [00:01:36] I really do. [00:01:38] And I think that we'll be surprised in what Trump is able to accomplish. [00:01:42] You know, we're also concerned about South Korea, and we as Christians have an additional concern because South Korea is half or more than half Christian. [00:01:52] Some of the greatest churches in the world are there. [00:01:54] So as our brothers and sisters, and they are so close. [00:01:58] I mean, Seoul, which is a huge, huge city is like 10 minutes by air from North Korea. [00:02:05] Absolutely. [00:02:06] And it's mostly the South Koreans who would bear the brunt of a horrible war. [00:02:15] But you know what? [00:02:16] Look at this. [00:02:16] China has now backed down. [00:02:19] China wasn't doing anything until Trump got tough with them. [00:02:23] And look, didn't he have the president of China having dinner down there at Mar-a-Lago? [00:02:28] Yes, he did. [00:02:29] And he just happened to mention at the end of dinner that he just dropped the biggest bomb in history on Syria. [00:02:36] I think they were eating dessert, right? [00:02:38] That's right. [00:02:40] And, you know, that was a brilliant move. [00:02:43] First of all, it was probably needed militarily in Syria. [00:02:47] But also, it makes the Chinese wonder, are they going to do that to us as well? [00:02:54] Do either one of you study the health care plan? [00:02:58] You know, really what they wanted was they wanted the people who proposed this is they wanted single-payer health insurance like they have in Canada and England, which is a mess. [00:03:09] If you know anybody over there, I mean, first of all, you can't even get an appointment for long, long periods of time. [00:03:15] You can't get operations for a long period of time. [00:03:17] We would have that here. [00:03:18] We have the best medical help. [00:03:21] You know, the problem is that our costs are just absolutely out of control for hospitals, for doctors, for medication. [00:03:29] And Obamacare doesn't really cover all that. [00:03:34] And, you know, there are a lot of people who aren't covered who need insurance. [00:03:37] You know, would to God they would all have insurance. [00:03:40] You know, hopefully they would be able to afford the insurance and get it. [00:03:44] We want that. [00:03:45] But let's let the free market do that and not just look to the government to give us one more government handout that is going to, you know, I mean, how many trillion dollars are we already in debt? [00:03:58] And at some point, we've got to get a handle on that, or it's just going to get worse and worse. [00:04:02] Will the debt just explode on us at some point? [00:04:05] Some believe we're even going to have a crash someday because this market keeps going higher and higher. [00:04:11] And we have so much debt. [00:04:12] It is scary. [00:04:13] You're right. [00:04:15] However, you know, there are forces at work that we don't really understand. [00:04:18] And America is very resilient. [00:04:21] And there are a lot of people who have a lot to lose if the whole thing implodes. [00:04:25] And so because of that, they're motivated to work something out. [00:04:29] Why are there so many rich, super-rich billionaires that are really anti-American, or at least anti-what Mr. Trump's trying to do? [00:04:38] Well, you know, it's birds of a feather flock together. [00:04:42] And there have been a few well-known elites on the left, and they have started influencing others and influencing others and influencing others. === Something Optimistic (00:21) === [00:04:55] Plus, listen, there's been a lurch to the left in our country, really ever since World War II. [00:05:02] But we've got to change something. [00:05:04] We've got to get something going. [00:05:06] And I am optimistic. [00:05:09] I'm optimistic.
