Jim Bakker Show - Leading A Divided Nation - Dr. Steve Greene & Steve Strang Aired: 2017-11-01 Duration: 04:03 === Major Change Afoot (02:25) === [00:00:00] How does our president lead? [00:00:03] You're the leader expert. [00:00:05] How does he lead a divided nation? [00:00:08] I mean, when half the people hate you. [00:00:12] It's rough waking up in the morning. [00:00:13] You know, I have a few people on my staff usually that don't like me, but the whole half the country hating you? [00:00:20] I think the answer is more one. [00:00:22] I think Steve has addressed it real accurately. [00:00:25] Give it a little time. [00:00:26] You know, the best thing to say is keep leading with what you know. [00:00:30] Stay connected with the Lord. [00:00:32] Do what you know you need to do. [00:00:34] Do it right. [00:00:35] Do it with excellence. [00:00:36] And give it time, and there'll be a major change take place. [00:00:39] I think it's coming. [00:00:40] I think we're going to see those numbers flip. [00:00:42] It's completely change. [00:00:45] More people coming toward him because of his actions, because of what he's getting done, and how he lives. [00:00:50] He received so many complaints about his lifestyle long before he was president. [00:00:55] You know, most of us don't want to look that far back. [00:00:57] We want to look specifically at what he's doing and how is he leading this country. [00:01:01] The results speak for themselves. [00:01:03] And I think, Pastor Jim, that's going to make the biggest difference. [00:01:06] To me, the biggest difference is going to be how he treats people, how he invests in people, how he loves people, and they'll see it over time. [00:01:12] Nothing comes quick. [00:01:14] Nothing. [00:01:15] Most presidents go backwards in their reign. [00:01:17] They start off with strong numbers and it declines until they're done. [00:01:21] His numbers are getting bigger. [00:01:22] His numbers are getting better. [00:01:23] Yes, sir. [00:01:24] I think you referred somewhere. [00:01:27] It's like a civil war between the liberals and conservatives in America. [00:01:32] How can we have this war at least quiet down, do you think? [00:01:38] Well, first of all, Donald Trump is providing leadership. [00:01:42] You know, for a while it was just the drumbeat of political correctness. [00:01:46] Now the other is coming, and I believe that it's right. [00:01:50] What he's doing is right. [00:01:53] And I think as people discover this and as people change, people are going to have to change from wanting a welfare mentality, wanting the government to do everything for them, wanting to be weak internationally and so forth. [00:02:05] And as this happens, I think that you'll see a change in our country. === God's Reprieve Needed (01:53) === [00:02:10] But you say civil war. [00:02:12] This is the third way. [00:02:13] We've talked about it being a spiritual war and a culture war. [00:02:16] But we're talking about warfare nonetheless because that's really what's happening. [00:02:22] But I believe that the war is winnable. [00:02:25] And I believe if Hillary Clinton had got involved, it would have been almost like a car going over the cliff. [00:02:32] It would have been hard to have, you know, turned things around four or eight years from now. [00:02:38] So I believe that God gave us a reprieve. [00:02:42] And I quoted lots of leaders like James Robinson and others who said, we have a reprieve now. [00:02:51] What do we do with it? [00:02:52] Not just politically, but how does the church stand up? [00:02:56] Because as we know, a lot of the problems we have in our country is because the church has been so apathetic and so quiet. [00:03:04] Do you think he can drain the swamp? [00:03:07] I believe that he can. [00:03:09] I mean, who would have thought that he could beat all of those contenders in primary? [00:03:15] How he could beat the Clinton machine. [00:03:18] This isn't just the Democrats. [00:03:20] This is the Clinton machine that is more corrupt than anything else. [00:03:24] But he's done it. [00:03:26] He's winning people over. [00:03:28] And the swamp needs to be drained. [00:03:31] Yes. [00:03:31] And they found some creatures down under there so far. [00:03:37] That's right. [00:03:37] Well, we live down where there's swamps. [00:03:39] We know how nasty they are. [00:03:43] But I believe that he will. [00:03:44] It's not going to be easy. [00:03:46] He needs the Congress behind him. [00:03:48] He needs to win another term. [00:03:50] You know, whoever is the leader after him, hopefully as Mike Pence, is going to have to continue it. [00:03:56] You know, we didn't get into this mess overnight. [00:03:58] No. [00:03:59] And it's going to take more than 10 months to turn it around. [00:04:02] But I believe that will happen.
