Jim Bakker Show - Carbohydrate Sensitive - Dr. Don Colbert Aired: 2017-10-06 Duration: 02:10 === Carb Sensitivity Shift (02:10) === [00:00:00] There's something that happens to most people around the world between the ages of 45 and 50. [00:00:07] And this is what happens. [00:00:08] Hormones start to decrease. [00:00:11] And then we become more carbohydrate sensitive the more we get an insulin response and the more we gain weight. [00:00:19] It happens around 45 to 50 on almost everyone I see. [00:00:23] You cannot eat the same amount of carbs, sugars, and starches as when you were 20. [00:00:26] When you were 20, you could eat a pizza, a whole huge pizza, you wouldn't gain one pound. [00:00:31] But now you eat one slice and you gain two pounds, three pounds. [00:00:36] You eat one baked potato. [00:00:37] You gain five pounds. [00:00:38] Right. [00:00:39] That's because we become more carbohydrate sensitive as we age. [00:00:43] That's why so many people are developing pre-diabetes and diabetes. [00:00:47] That's why we are seeing this epidemic of obesity. [00:00:50] That's why we're seeing this epidemic of disease. [00:00:52] Because listen, the food recommendations of this country, the dietary guidelines for the last 50 years has been we should consume 45 to 65 percent of our calories as carbohydrates. [00:01:09] That's 200 to 300 grams of carbs a day. [00:01:12] If you do that, you are guaranteed, especially if you're over 50, to have obesity, eventually either prediabetes or type 2 diabetes. [00:01:21] You've just signed up for inflammation in your brain, dementia, pre-dementia, senile dementia, as well as Parkinson's, as well as cancer, as well as heart disease, as well as most every degenerative disease, including autoimmune disease. [00:01:35] That's because we all become carbohydrate sensitive. [00:01:38] You've seen those little tiny twiggies that are teenage girls, and then they stay skinny in their 20s. [00:01:45] They stay skinny in their 30s. [00:01:47] That's right. [00:01:47] And then all of a sudden, 45, 50 hits, and all of a sudden, you look at them and they're 250 pounds on the hoof. [00:01:52] Their husbands better love them because of that. [00:01:55] That's right. [00:01:55] Because all of that comfort food, potato chips, corn chips, Cheetos. [00:02:00] I had a lady yesterday, Cheetos, Cheetos. [00:02:01] Love Cheetos. [00:02:02] And now she's paying the price with arthritis and obesity. [00:02:06] She had 20 separate diseases. [00:02:08] She's only like 55 years of age.
