Jim Bakker Show - It Starts At The Altar - Pat Schatzline on The Jim Bakker Show Aired: 2017-07-21 Duration: 06:39 === Famine of Faith (03:49) === [00:00:00] When will America turn to God? [00:00:03] You know, since you were here last time, a congressman was shot practicing baseball. [00:00:11] Right. [00:00:12] The man that came to kill him came to kill up to 50 more people. [00:00:17] When Amos said there's a famine in the land for the word of the Lord, all through God's word, whenever famine hits, Elijah, three and a half year famine, if you restore the altar, the rain comes. [00:00:28] After the rain comes, you know, reaper overtakes the plowman. [00:00:31] The Bible goes on to say, Amos 9 says he stands at the altar of judgment. [00:00:34] Then it goes on to say that the reaper overtakes the plowman. [00:00:37] I believe this with all my heart. [00:00:38] Back to your question, Pastor, because I texted with the congressman's personal assistant that night, and he said, the media is saying he's okay. [00:00:47] I sent it to you. [00:00:48] The media is saying he's okay, but he's not. [00:00:50] He's at death's door. [00:00:51] Very sick. [00:00:52] And I text to you and said, hey, this is from his assistant that I text. [00:00:56] And he said, Pat, we got to get people praying. [00:00:59] Here's what I believe with all my heart. [00:01:01] Whenever there's a famine in the land for the word of the Lord, famine means to be bent over with extreme thirst. [00:01:06] Famine always leads to revival. [00:01:08] One of the things that we're doing here with we are going to be talking about the food and different things is famine creates hunger. [00:01:15] Where there's a hunger, and when will America turn back to God? [00:01:18] At the end of yourself is the beginning of God. [00:01:20] And we are very, very close to an all-out outbreak. [00:01:23] I had a prophetic dream. [00:01:24] I have a sleep disorder called Revelation. [00:01:26] I had a prophetic dream of people running down the streets encountering Jesus, getting to this outpouring of God. [00:01:34] It's going to break out in cities. [00:01:36] But when will they turn to God? [00:01:37] When they're at the end of themselves. [00:01:39] And that's very close. [00:01:40] That's about to happen. [00:01:41] I'm telling you now, that's why Karen and I wrote the new book, Rebuilding the Altar, because it's got to start in our home. [00:01:47] It's got to start in our family first. [00:01:50] John, do you think it's going to take a crisis? [00:01:55] Because people are not in mass turning to God. [00:01:58] I believe God is more willing than we are. [00:02:02] He's talking about the remnant waking up. [00:02:04] Yes. [00:02:05] The majority is still sleeping, but it's like they're asleep walking. [00:02:09] And it took a slap on the rear end to wake me up. [00:02:12] I think for America, we're going to have to see America shaken in order to see the church wake up. [00:02:19] But the problem is, I was praying one morning, and the Lord spoke to me. [00:02:22] He said, there's been a demonic spirit released from hell that teaches the leaders of today that they can live like the world in order to win them. [00:02:30] I believe it's got to happen in the pews because it's not happening in the pulpit. [00:02:33] I believe that very soon the churches that are not preaching truth are going to empty out. [00:02:36] I believe this with all my heart. [00:02:38] And I also believe with all my heart that it's going to take outbreaks of God right in our homes. [00:02:42] We write about rebuilding the altar in a home. [00:02:44] You know, let me tell you a story. [00:02:46] Pastor, one morning, my son was in high school. [00:02:49] Nate's a youth pastor out in California now, leading probably the largest youth ministry in America. [00:02:53] My son, my daughter, Abigail, Karen, and I, and Karen and I wrote this book together because God spoke to us. [00:02:59] We went through hell. [00:03:00] I'll never forget. [00:03:01] It was one morning, and all of a sudden, my son is in high school. [00:03:05] He's playing high school football, would become a, he was a star athlete. [00:03:09] All of a sudden, he goes, Dad, somebody's on the back porch. [00:03:13] All of a sudden, my little girl Abigail said, Daddy, somebody's on the back porch. [00:03:17] Karen said, Pat, somebody's back there. [00:03:18] And we have a privacy fence. [00:03:20] I spun around and looked. [00:03:21] I'm a redneck, so I'm ready to go. [00:03:23] Amen. [00:03:24] And I spun around and looked, and there's a man on my back porch like this in a hood. [00:03:29] I ran outside, and he was gone. [00:03:31] And I said, Lord, what was that? [00:03:33] And he said, the enemy has stopped by. === Rebuilding The Altar (03:04) === [00:03:35] That's when we rebuilt the altar in our home. [00:03:37] That's when we turned worship on. [00:03:38] That's when we began to prophesy. [00:03:40] If you don't prophesy over your children, the enemy will go ahead and speak death over them. [00:03:44] And we began to change the atmosphere of our house. [00:03:48] We're known as altar call people. [00:03:50] We see tens of thousands running to the altar. [00:03:52] And so when God began to speak to us and he said, where is the altar gone? [00:03:56] How have we learned to do church without him? [00:03:58] We've got microwave Christianity. [00:04:00] We've got, you know, stacked up services. [00:04:02] We've got leaders burning out. [00:04:04] God is saying this, and this is what the Lord showed us, that when the anointing, we've learned to live off the New Testament early part, Jesus. [00:04:11] We love Jesus feeding the 5,000. [00:04:13] Follow me. [00:04:14] We love Jesus for healing the lame and the sick and flipping over tables, making a whip, cursing the tree. [00:04:22] But we don't realize that Jesus changed. [00:04:26] What do I mean by that? [00:04:27] Well, that almost sounds like a heretic. [00:04:28] No, no, no. [00:04:29] He had given up glory for the anointing. [00:04:31] He said, the Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is upon me. [00:04:32] He's anointed to preach good news. [00:04:34] But when Jesus died, remember, Mary comes to the garden, goes to reach out to touch him. [00:04:38] He said, don't touch me. [00:04:40] Remember, John laid on his chest and began to, you know, there, when they were having the Last Supper, but then in John 1, it says I was a dead man. [00:04:50] Here's what I'm saying. [00:04:51] We want the anointing, but we better get back to wanting the glory. [00:04:54] The anointing is God's fingerprint on his life, on your life. [00:04:57] The glory comes after the altar. [00:04:59] Jesus became the altar. [00:05:00] Hebrews 10, Hebrews 13. [00:05:02] When we restore the presence of God, when the glory comes in, it's not about our anointing anymore. [00:05:07] It's not about what I got to say anymore. [00:05:09] It's about his presence. [00:05:10] If you restore the glory of God back in your home and say, Father, have your way, cry out, chase after him. [00:05:17] What I love about coming to Morningside is the minute you pull up on the grounds, you begin to feel the glory of the Lord. [00:05:23] You know why? [00:05:23] Because your life has become an altar to him, Pastor Jim. [00:05:26] You laid everything down. [00:05:28] You lost everything. [00:05:30] It's at the altar, all through God's word. [00:05:32] It's at the altar. [00:05:33] The altar is the place where it interrupts your past and shows you what you can become. [00:05:40] God's spirit being poured out saying, let me do something inside of you. [00:05:44] The first altar call after the cross was when they got to a table. [00:05:49] They didn't recognize they were walking with Jesus, but when he broke the bread, their eyes were open. [00:05:53] All through God's word, it's about the secret encounters with him. [00:05:57] That's what this place represents. [00:05:59] Restoring his presence, calling people back to intimacy. [00:06:03] I believe with all my heart, the churches that are not preaching truth are going to empty out very soon. [00:06:08] The people that are just preaching grace without accountability and responsibility and repentance, that's a lying spirit in the church right now. [00:06:16] And you have to understand that God is saying, I'm looking for those that will restore the breathing rooms. [00:06:23] We write about it in the book, the breathing rooms. [00:06:24] The Shunamite woman's boy, the breath of God. [00:06:28] Then we've got John 20, Jesus breathed on disciples. [00:06:31] Acts chapter 2, Jesus breathed. [00:06:32] Ezekiel 36, 37, he breathed upon the dry bones. [00:06:37] Let God breathe on you. [00:06:38] That's an altar call.
