Jim Bakker Show - Thank You for Your Kindness - Pastors Jim and Lori Bakker Aired: 2017-03-09 Duration: 06:17 === A Moment of Comfort (06:09) === [00:00:00] I received a card and this lady wrote me and she said, I just lost my mother. [00:00:10] And she said, you had talked about losing your dog buttons on television. [00:00:16] You just mentioned it one day. [00:00:18] Yeah. [00:00:19] And she said, you don't know how much it meant to hear Lori grieving over her little buttons who's been with us, what, how many years? [00:00:32] She was just almost 17. [00:00:35] Right. [00:00:35] 17-year-old little thing. [00:00:38] And I was so shocked, Lori. [00:00:40] And this lady said, your sharing the death of your favorite pet put comfort. [00:00:52] It gave her comfort, even though there's no comparison between a mother and a pet. [00:00:58] But, you know, really, it's just at the same time, it gave her comfort. [00:01:04] And then we just kept, all of a sudden, there was just so many cards that all of you sent to us saying, talking to us about your precious dogs. [00:01:18] But, you know, we had our dogs cremated. [00:01:20] We had buttons and bow. [00:01:22] And so I actually brought what I have sitting right in what I look at every day at home. [00:01:27] And so first Bobies, we called him our nickname in our family. [00:01:32] He was a little shihzu. [00:01:34] So we had buttons and bow. [00:01:36] Yeah, so we always had these. [00:01:38] Grandma Bonnie actually gave these to us years ago. [00:01:41] And look how cute. [00:01:42] And literally we had a little black shihu and a little white shihzu. [00:01:48] This is sweet. [00:01:49] This is, I just want to show you some of the cards. [00:01:53] Isn't that cute? [00:01:55] So so many of you sent us little buttons, like literally buttons. [00:02:00] You know, we have like handshakes. [00:02:02] It's right on the card. [00:02:04] This one's right on the card, but it puts Peter and Sandra, Gypsy Rose from Pennsylvania, Pam from Ohio, Thelma Davis from North Carolina, Peggy from Indiana, just a few of the people who they send buttons. [00:02:27] I just can't get over this lady, this is the lady I was telling you about. [00:02:32] She says, my heart goes out to you as buttons moved on to her heavenly home. [00:02:37] Thanks for sharing your sweet love. [00:02:40] Real words that touched me so. [00:02:43] My mom passed away last week. [00:02:45] Grief is grief as Jesus washes our souls. [00:02:50] I love you dearly. [00:02:56] It just, it hit me that we were opening cards as we sit on our bed. [00:03:01] Lori, now that's our favorite spot to open cards. [00:03:03] We just sit there where it's soft and comfortable and read and read and read and read. [00:03:09] And look at this, look at this card. [00:03:11] Is that gorgeous? [00:03:13] And it says, I express my sorrow for the loss of your dog buttons. [00:03:19] It is never easy to say goodbye to them for a while. [00:03:24] I too believe Jesus will let us have our beloved pets in heaven. [00:03:30] Revelation says he is coming back at the second coming on a white horse. [00:03:35] And so we are his army when he comforts us one last time. [00:03:44] I know there's a couple people out there identify with this. [00:03:46] This is just for you guys. [00:03:49] All the cats and dog lovers. [00:03:51] This lady has a bunch of cats and dogs. [00:03:55] She just says, I never let them go off to heaven alone. [00:04:02] I am always there looking in their eyes one last time. [00:04:06] Oh, yeah, absolutely. [00:04:09] I know your sadness. [00:04:13] And I know how happy you will be in heaven. [00:04:16] Running and playing. [00:04:18] Jim's dog, Lucky. [00:04:19] She remembers me talking about my dog that I had when I was a little boy. [00:04:25] Yeah. [00:04:27] This card here was so beautiful. [00:04:29] Can I show you the cover up? [00:04:32] This person prayed for me because she knew that I was sick. [00:04:41] I'd been sick for quite a while. [00:04:43] And it's a long card. [00:04:45] I read every word of it. [00:04:47] And it just poured in, as the song sang, the wine and the oil, the kind that restoreth your soul on the Jericho Road. [00:04:59] And this card has nothing to do with dogs, this next one. [00:05:02] But I have to say it because it came from Dr. Susanna, director of the Christian Friends, who led us into the Yavasham when it was no longer allowed to take pictures. [00:05:16] Oh, wow. [00:05:18] Is that that lady? [00:05:19] This is Susanna. [00:05:19] Oh, she stays in touch with us all the time. [00:05:21] Oh, yeah. [00:05:22] And it was one of my favorite moments. [00:05:25] It was walking into that museum. [00:05:27] It was the highlight of what we were filming because we got to see your heritage, but we also got to see Corrantin Boom's heritage on what happened in those days. [00:05:39] That lady was the sweetest. [00:05:40] Thank you so much for letting us film there. [00:05:42] That was very kind of you to let our partners in through the cameras to be a part of that moment. [00:05:48] That's right. [00:05:50] So this is an actual oil painting of one of the little girls that was killed in the Holocaust. === Card Sent, Heals Hearts (00:22) === [00:06:04] And she had this put into a card, made a beautiful card. [00:06:09] And she sent me this card. [00:06:12] When you guys write us and you let us know that you share these moments, it heals our hearts too.
