Jim Bakker Show - Not Too Broken for God - Philip Cameron Aired: 2017-03-01 Duration: 04:16 === Dad's Obsessive Restore (03:45) === [00:00:00] My dad back in Scotland many years ago bought an old Volvo. [00:00:04] It must have been 12 or 15 years old, an old Volvo. [00:00:08] It was the 164. [00:00:10] It was the rattiest car I've ever seen in my life. [00:00:13] And he drove this thing up to our house and I says, what on earth did you buy this junk for? [00:00:19] The body had rotted a bit because of the salt air in Scotland. [00:00:24] And he says, don't worry, Philip. [00:00:25] He says, I'm going to restore this car. [00:00:28] So he went and he found this guy that did body work and he spent more money on the body work of the car than the car was worth. [00:00:38] And this man says, I'm going to put a Rolls Royce finish on this car. [00:00:42] And the car was gone for months. [00:00:44] And I was home the day the car was delivered back. [00:00:47] The seats were still torn. [00:00:49] The interior was like a bomb had gone off in the middle of it. [00:00:53] And the car was all shiny. [00:00:55] And I says, how much did this cost you, Dad? [00:00:58] And I was standing across the roof of the car looking into his face. [00:01:02] And he didn't want to tell me. [00:01:05] And he dropped his eyes. [00:01:06] I says, can you please tell me how much this car cost you to fix? [00:01:13] And he told me, and it was worth more than the car was worth. [00:01:17] And I got mad at him across the top of the car. [00:01:20] And I says, what kind of foolishness is this? [00:01:23] That you spent all this money on a wreck of a car. [00:01:27] And you've painted the thing up and it looks great, but it's still an old piece of junk. [00:01:32] And I'm shouting at him across the roof of the car. [00:01:36] And then I noticed a tear running down his cheek. [00:01:43] And my voice trailed away. [00:01:47] And I said, I'm sorry, Dad. [00:01:53] And this is what he said to me. [00:01:57] You don't understand the joy I have in taking something that no one else wants. [00:02:06] I'm restoring it. [00:02:08] Hey, my child. [00:02:10] Monday, Roma. [00:02:16] I walked up the car and I hugged them. [00:02:23] I says, Dad, I am so sorry that I've destroyed a moment of such joy for you. [00:02:32] And he says, it's okay. [00:02:33] It's okay. [00:02:35] Your family hasn't gone so far that the reach of grace can't pull them back. [00:02:42] Things aren't so broken that God can't pour in oil and wine to restore. [00:02:50] But what you've got to do is identify with it. [00:02:55] What you've got to do is say, my God, this is for me. [00:03:00] This is my moment. [00:03:03] Whatever it is that has been broken, why don't you pull it with you right now to the altar? [00:03:12] Let's do something that can change destinies for babies not even born yet. [00:03:22] For family members that you don't know. [00:03:26] For husbands of your kids and wives of your kids that are alive and living right now that God's going to pull them into your family. === Sit Beside the River (00:45) === [00:03:37] That the curse of darkness that's been gripping your family and choking the life out of it is going to be broken in the name of Jesus. [00:03:48] But you can sit beside a river. [00:03:51] Listen to me. [00:03:52] You can sit beside a river and die of thirst. [00:03:59] You can sit beside a backwinning table and starve to death. [00:04:05] It's only when you involve yourself in the river and involve yourself in the move and the voice and the whisper and the direction of the Holy Spirit.
