Jim Bakker Show - The Simeon Cry - Pat Schatzline Aired: 2017-02-22 Duration: 08:44 === Simeon's Wait (08:43) === [00:00:00] What is the Simeon cry? [00:00:02] It's a personal cry that says, I will not depart till I see the glory of Israel. [00:00:07] Yes. [00:00:08] See, I've learned that when humanity meets divinity, that's an altar call. [00:00:12] And what you have to understand is, every morning there's an old priest by the name of Simeon. [00:00:18] Many believe he was 200 years old. [00:00:20] This old priest had been given a promise. [00:00:22] He was a part of the Septuagint. [00:00:24] Now, obviously, it didn't get called the Septuagint until later. [00:00:27] It means 70. [00:00:28] It means the writers. [00:00:29] But he was the one of the ones that would transfer the Hebrew into the Greek koine. [00:00:34] In other words, the scripture into the Greek so we can understand it today. [00:00:37] He was a writer. [00:00:38] It is believed that when he's translating the Old Testament into the Greek koine, he gets to Isaiah 7, 14. [00:00:45] Therefore, the Lord himself will give you a sign. [00:00:47] The virgin will give birth, will conceive and give birth to a son, and call him God with us. [00:00:53] At that exact moment, the Spirit of the Lord says to him, hey, Simeon, you'll see him. [00:01:02] The Bible says in Luke chapter 2, jumping back, it says this. [00:01:05] Now there was a man in Jerusalem called Simeon who was righteous and devout. [00:01:09] I could preach all day about righteous and devout. [00:01:11] You know what righteousness means? [00:01:12] It means my character doesn't change when your mood does. [00:01:18] Righteousness means if they take his name in vain or they should do this or they do that, I'm walking out of that movie. [00:01:24] Righteousness means I'm not going to, I don't have to sit and be a part of the world. [00:01:27] I don't have to partake of alcohol. [00:01:29] I don't have to, I'm called to be different, not legalistic, holy. [00:01:34] And it had been revealed to him, he was waiting for the consolation. [00:01:37] I love this right here because it goes on to say, he was waiting for the consolation of Israel. [00:01:41] Now, I looked up the word consolation. [00:01:42] I thought it's what you get when you don't win. [00:01:44] You didn't win the car, so here's a teddy bear. [00:01:47] Do you know what consolation means? [00:01:52] The answer. [00:01:55] It means the awakener. [00:01:58] He was waiting on everything, the I am that I am. [00:02:00] And it goes on to say, and the Holy Spirit was on him. [00:02:04] And it had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not die before he had seen the Lord's Messiah. [00:02:11] I love this because the Bible says, moved by the Spirit. [00:02:16] In Luke chapter 2, verse 27, it says, moved by the Spirit. [00:02:20] He went into the temple courts. [00:02:22] When they brought the child in Jesus to do for him what was custom of the law, can I just say this? [00:02:28] It's time we become moved by the Spirit again. [00:02:30] Not by crowds, not by lights, not by anthems. [00:02:34] I've learned that purity is the backbone of authority and authority is determined by brokenness. [00:02:38] I put me around somebody that's moved by the spirit. [00:02:42] He wasn't like those, those that treat God as some weekend warrior experiment every three or four months. [00:02:48] No, no. [00:02:49] He wasn't like those that thought the call of God is about a title instead of a testimony. [00:02:53] He wasn't like those. [00:02:55] No, he was different. [00:02:57] He had something inside of him. [00:02:59] It was believed he was 200 years old and the Bible said that he recognized his moment. [00:03:03] Now listen to me, those that are watching. [00:03:05] This is your moment. [00:03:07] This is the moment to clean your house. [00:03:09] This is the moment to be led by the Holy Spirit. [00:03:11] This is the moment where you walk in and say, I've had enough, devil, get out of my family. [00:03:16] God said there's an awakening coming into the land. [00:03:18] There's a wave of his revival that is coming to the land. [00:03:21] And he's going to bypass the churches that have locked out his spirit. [00:03:25] And I love this because it said, led by the spirit. [00:03:28] Come on. [00:03:30] You know what I've learned when God shows up, it isn't about me. [00:03:35] God's never going to walk into a church service where he thinks you're going to take credit for it. [00:03:40] Here's Simeon. [00:03:42] I imagine his body didn't feel like it used to feel. [00:03:46] It's believed he'd be 200 years old. [00:03:49] But every day he wakes up knowing that God gave him a promise. [00:03:54] Hello, morning side. [00:03:57] His body's beginning to break down, but every morning he knows God told him, you'll see the Messiah. [00:04:03] Yep. [00:04:05] Imagine he gets up one morning and he's getting dressed. [00:04:08] He puts on the tallit, puts on the prayer shawl. [00:04:10] Something feels different today. [00:04:15] Still is stirring in me today. [00:04:20] And as he walks out to the temple courts, everyone says hello to him. [00:04:23] See, understand, when a Jewish woman gives birth, to a male child, they have to go through a purification process. [00:04:32] They get circumcised on the eighth day, and on 40 days, they have to go into the temple. [00:04:35] And there's a purity process that takes place for the woman that gave birth to a male child. [00:04:44] Mary's is called Candlemas. [00:04:46] It's celebrated on February the 2nd in the Orthodox Church. [00:04:50] On February the 3rd, they celebrate the God receiver's death. [00:04:54] Simeon, you're not getting it yet. [00:04:56] Well, he died the day after. [00:05:02] I can see him, Mondo, as he walks out into the courtyard. [00:05:06] Something feels different today. [00:05:09] And all of a sudden, as he's sitting there, the Spirit of the Lord overwhelms him. [00:05:14] And I imagine as he's shaking hands and there's all these people to see, Pastor Simeon, Pastor Simeon, but he sees this couple. [00:05:20] And all of a sudden, as he begins to, hello, good to see you. [00:05:24] Welcome to church today. [00:05:26] This is the way I imagine it, by the way. [00:05:28] Go on vacation up there. [00:05:32] And all of a sudden, as he gets closer and closer, he sees this couple and they're holding something. [00:05:40] Could it be that God is not a liar? [00:05:46] Could it be that our kids will be saved? [00:05:49] Could it be our marriage can be restored? [00:05:51] Could it be that there's priests and kings watching right now that will launch businesses this year? [00:05:56] And all of a sudden as he starts walking towards them, they wave at him. [00:06:01] Hello, Pastor. [00:06:04] I mean, everybody knows him. [00:06:04] He's 200 years old. [00:06:06] He's married him and buried him. [00:06:08] And all of a sudden he says, welcome to church today. [00:06:14] Mary looks at him with a tear rolling down her eyes, down her cheek, because this is the day. [00:06:20] He knew him. [00:06:21] He's heard all the gossip prayer requests. [00:06:25] And then all of a sudden he goes, um, welcome. [00:06:29] Um. [00:06:34] Can I hold him? [00:06:36] Oh, you're not getting this yet. [00:06:41] Because the Bible says Simeon took him in his arms and he praised God saying, sovereign Lord. [00:06:46] You're not getting this yet. [00:06:48] At that exact moment, he wasn't saying, can I hold a baby? [00:06:52] He was saying, can I hold glory? [00:06:54] Can I hold the one that is and was and forevermore shall be? [00:06:58] Can I hold the lion of the tribe of Judah? [00:07:00] The I am that I am, the lily within the valley, the bride of my. [00:07:03] Can I hold glory? [00:07:05] And as he stretched out his hands, it was a circle of life moment. [00:07:08] All of creation stopped because a king was being introduced. [00:07:12] And at that exact moment, it was supernatural because he took, he was saying, can I hold your Bible, the word made flesh, you tabernacled among us. [00:07:20] Now, you ready? [00:07:21] Stretch out your hands if you're watching. [00:07:24] When's the last time you said, excuse me, Lord? [00:07:26] See, you're a temple. [00:07:27] You're not a shack. [00:07:28] Take down the first sale sign. [00:07:29] You're a mobile upper room. [00:07:31] When's the last time you said, everybody hold your hands? [00:07:33] Excuse me, Lord. [00:07:36] Can I hold your glory? [00:07:37] You ready? [00:07:37] Say this. [00:07:38] Excuse me, Lord. [00:07:39] Excuse me, Lord. [00:07:40] Can I hold? [00:07:41] I'm warning you now. [00:07:42] I need to stop you because we have crazy stuff happening in our services at this moment. [00:07:46] I need to warn you. [00:07:47] You got to realize this would be his last sermon. [00:07:49] The religious would string him up for this because they were so used to preaching. [00:07:52] He was coming. [00:07:53] They didn't realize he had arrived. [00:07:57] You have to understand, he would hand the baby back. [00:07:59] He would run for his life. [00:08:00] He would disappear, most likely, the next day. [00:08:02] So you need to understand this is a heavy moment. [00:08:05] You have to understand the very next day he would see Isaiah the 6th chapter in full motion, God's glory. [00:08:12] So I want to warn you: if you're watching right now, simply say, Excuse me, Lord. [00:08:16] Excuse me, Lord. [00:08:17] Can I hold your glory? [00:08:27] Thank you, Louise. [00:08:33] You are called to be the Simeon. [00:08:37] You are called to rise up and lead. [00:08:40] This is your moment. [00:08:41] God says, I haven't forgotten you. [00:08:42] The greater the anointing, the greater the isolation.
