Jim Bakker Show - Kissing God - Rabbi Jonathan Cahn Aired: 2017-01-19 Duration: 03:24 === Worship as Kiss (03:07) === [00:00:00] It's called kissing God. [00:00:04] I don't remember that one. [00:00:05] I don't know why. [00:00:07] Go ahead, tell us. [00:00:08] And this is right for those who don't know, there's a story around it. [00:00:12] So there's a disciple. [00:00:14] He meets a man called the teacher. [00:00:16] He spends a year in the desert, and every day the teacher opens up another mystery of God. [00:00:20] So here, it's kind of a school of disciples. [00:00:22] So here's where it begins. [00:00:24] There was a gathering in the school's open-air tent. [00:00:26] It was a time of worship and praise. [00:00:28] We were just outside the tent listening. [00:00:31] What do you think of, asked the teacher, when you hear the word worship? [00:00:34] Singing hymns, prayers, words of praise. [00:00:37] That's the outward form of worship, he said. [00:00:39] That's how worship manifests. [00:00:40] But what's the heart of worship? [00:00:42] I don't know. [00:00:43] I'll give you one definition: a secret. [00:00:45] It's found in the New Covenant scriptures. [00:00:46] It only appears in the Greek. [00:00:48] It's the word proskuneo. [00:00:50] And do you know what it means? [00:00:51] I had no answer. [00:00:52] It means to kiss. [00:00:54] True worship, said the teacher, is to kiss. [00:00:57] And what does this reveal? [00:00:58] What's a kiss? [00:00:59] A kiss is the most intimate of acts. [00:01:02] Therefore, worship is to be the most intimate thing you can experience. [00:01:05] To worship God is to kiss God, I asked. [00:01:07] In the spiritual realm, yes, to kiss from your heart, from your innermost being. [00:01:11] And when you kiss, you don't do it because you have to, you do it freely from your heart, because you want to. [00:01:17] So true worship is never done by compulsion, I said, but freely from the overflow of your heart. [00:01:22] And why does one kiss? asked the teacher. [00:01:24] Because of joy. [00:01:25] Yes, a kiss is an expression of joy, and kissing brings you joy. [00:01:29] So true worship is an expression of joy. [00:01:31] You worship out of joy. [00:01:32] Your joy becomes worship, and your worship becomes joy. [00:01:36] Teacher, I said, we didn't say the most obvious, which is one kisses because of love. [00:01:41] I said, a kiss is an expression of love. [00:01:44] It is, he said. [00:01:45] So then, what is true worship? [00:01:47] Worship is an expression of love. [00:01:49] Yes, said the teacher, it's as simple as that. [00:01:51] It's the most intimate act of love and joy. [00:01:54] Worship is as simple as kissing God. [00:01:59] Amen. [00:02:00] Now, at the bottom of the page, you have what we call the mission. [00:02:05] There's always a mission to take the mystery and apply it to your life. [00:02:08] That's where it can transform your life. [00:02:09] So the teacher gives the disciple a mission, a way to do it. [00:02:13] But it's really for the reader. [00:02:14] Today, the mission, today, draw near to God and worship in love and joy in the deepest of intimacy. [00:02:20] Learn the secret of kissing God. [00:02:23] It's beautiful. [00:02:25] Beautiful. [00:02:26] I've never heard that before. [00:02:28] No, no, but it's there. [00:02:30] I mean, it's actually in, it's actually there. [00:02:33] That's what the word means. [00:02:35] You don't read it in English, but that's what the word means. [00:02:37] This word right here. [00:02:38] Prosconeo. [00:02:40] Thank you. [00:02:42] But interesting, that's in the New Testament. [00:02:44] Go back to the Hebrew scriptures, and what do you read in the Song of Solomon? [00:02:48] Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth, of his love. [00:02:51] For your love is better than wine. === Romance Under Attack (00:31) === [00:02:54] God wants us to be romantic with him. [00:02:56] He's romantic with us. [00:02:58] Yes. [00:02:59] Yes. [00:03:00] I think in this generation, so much of romance has become considered like evil stuff. [00:03:06] That's right. [00:03:07] You know, that's right. [00:03:08] And instead of the beauty of relationship, the beauty of marriage. [00:03:12] Yeah. [00:03:13] The enemy attacks everything that God creates, you know, marriage and even romance. [00:03:18] I mean, if it's in God, it's all to be a reflection of our relationship with God. [00:03:23] That's it. [00:03:23] That's it.
