Jim Bakker Show - The Mantle God Gave Us - Rabbi Jonathan Cahn Aired: 2017-01-19 Duration: 05:49 === Mantle of Calling (03:07) === [00:00:00] In the book of Mysteries, the teacher, I think this, I don't know if he takes him in a cave, but shows him a cloth, which is called the Adoret in Hebrew. [00:00:09] And the Adoret is the word that we read in the Bible about the mantle, the mantle. [00:00:16] When Elijah, we talked about Elijah, we talked about it. [00:00:18] We're going to get to the mystery of Baal too, the arch of Baal. [00:00:21] But what Elijah did is he took his mantle, he had a mantle, and he at one point he throws it on Elisha. [00:00:26] It just comes on him, and that begins, changes the life of Elisha. [00:00:30] That's the calling. [00:00:31] Well, we all have an adoret. [00:00:33] If you're a born again, you have an adoret. [00:00:36] You have a mantle that is appointed for you, and it's not like any other mantle because it's the one that God has. [00:00:42] Absolutely. [00:00:43] God has a calling. [00:00:44] It's high. [00:00:45] It is from the calling of Jesus. [00:00:46] I mean, think about this. [00:00:47] You know, think about it. [00:00:48] When Moses went up, you know, before he went up, he anointed Joshua. [00:00:54] He laid hands on Joshua. [00:00:55] When Elisha went up, the mantle was the one. [00:00:58] He went up, but the mantle fell down. [00:01:00] And Elisha picked it up, and now the mantle was on him. [00:01:03] When Jesus, Messiah, Yeshua, went up, there was no, where's the mantle? [00:01:07] Well, the mantle was the spirit that came upon everyone. [00:01:12] That was the mantle. [00:01:13] That's the mantle. [00:01:15] And so the thing is that, and in it's in that, it's in that spirit that we find our calling. [00:01:20] And the thing is, so we, so see, Messiah is too big. [00:01:23] It couldn't go to one person. [00:01:24] It couldn't go to a pope, one person. [00:01:26] It goes to everyone. [00:01:28] His ministry is too big. [00:01:29] It can't be passed. [00:01:30] It's passed to all of us. [00:01:32] So I'm just going to touch on some of the things that are in there, just a little taste of it. [00:01:36] Important things. [00:01:36] One is, what about your mantle? [00:01:38] One of the things is when the mantle, when God gave a mantle to someone, and I'm speaking with a calling, for instance, he does it to Isaiah. [00:01:45] What does Isaiah say? [00:01:46] Woe to me, I'm unworthy, I'm unclean. [00:01:48] Please know I'm not the one. [00:01:50] But he does it to Moses. [00:01:51] I can't, I can't speak. [00:01:52] I'm slow of speech. [00:01:53] I mean, really, you know, he's slow of speech. [00:01:55] And then look what he said. [00:01:56] He went on for the rest of the time talking and talking and talking. [00:01:59] He wasn't really slow to speech, but that was his excuse. [00:02:02] You have it again and again. [00:02:04] You have Jeremiah, I'm too young. [00:02:05] The mantle's too big. [00:02:06] I'm too young. [00:02:07] You have Peter, I'm a sinful man. [00:02:09] Get away from me. [00:02:11] You always have that reaction for people. [00:02:12] And that's the true reaction of a humble servant of God. [00:02:16] The mantle always is going to seem too big for you. [00:02:19] It always does. [00:02:20] Whatever our mantle is, and there's a reason because it's bigger than us. [00:02:23] It's like when we were growing up, our parents, and you were a parent, you always buy clothes that are bigger than your kids if they're growing, because they're going to grow into it. [00:02:31] So the reason the mantle has to be bigger, so don't get discouraged over that. [00:02:34] What it's saying is you are to grow into it. [00:02:37] That's who you're to become in the Lord. [00:02:39] And when you read in the Bible, it says, put on the new self. [00:02:42] You know what the word is in Greek? [00:02:43] The word says, put it on like, it means literally slip into the clothes. [00:02:47] Put it on like you put on clothes. [00:02:49] In other words, this may not be who I am right here, but it's who I am in God. === The Mantle Makes Us Mighty (02:56) === [00:02:53] And so I just have to put it on. [00:02:55] You don't earn the mantle. [00:02:57] You just receive it. [00:02:58] You just accept it. [00:02:59] You're not worthy of it, but it makes you worthy. [00:03:02] You just have to say, God said it. [00:03:04] I am receiving this. [00:03:05] This is who I am in him. [00:03:07] And I'm going to live. [00:03:07] And if I fall, I'm getting back until I rise to that thing. [00:03:11] But we become what that mantle is. [00:03:13] It's like the clothes are who you're going to become. [00:03:16] But we have to live by who we're going to become. [00:03:18] And something, I'll give you one more thing in the Hebrew, in the Hebrew, there's a whole thing hidden here. [00:03:23] Because the reason why I said adoret, because adoret doesn't just mean mantle. [00:03:28] Let me tell you what it means. [00:03:29] This is about your calling. [00:03:30] The adoret in Hebrew, your mantle, it literally means wide. [00:03:35] It is so wide. [00:03:37] Adir, it comes from the word adir, means it's so large. [00:03:40] It is great. [00:03:40] God doesn't give any callings that are not great. [00:03:43] I mean, we may mess up, but the calling is great. [00:03:46] And he doesn't revoke the calling either. [00:03:48] So here, it's great. [00:03:49] The word from adoret also means excellent. [00:03:53] Excellent. [00:03:53] Excellent. [00:03:54] Meaning, every single person, I don't care who you are, if you're a child of God, you've got an excellent calling. [00:03:59] And the power that God gives is to excel and to excel what you have done before, to excel who you are to who you are to become. [00:04:08] The word adoret also literally means, this is Hebrew, this means mighty and powerful. [00:04:14] Mighty and powerful. [00:04:15] Not that we are, but the calling God gave us, it makes us powerful in him. [00:04:20] And another thing, Adir also means gallant or courageous. [00:04:24] Now, most of us don't feel courageous, you know, but look at Gideon. [00:04:28] Look at all the people of God. [00:04:29] None of them felt courageous, but they just said yes to it, and they became courageous. [00:04:34] You have the power to overcome by the mantle God gave you. [00:04:37] Without it, no. [00:04:38] But with a mantle, you can overcome. [00:04:40] And another thing, adaret means, it means worthy. [00:04:42] Now, which is kind of a paradox because we're not worthy of the calling, but it means worthy. [00:04:47] It makes us worthy. [00:04:48] It makes us worthy. [00:04:50] We become worthy of what we wouldn't become before. [00:04:52] And the last thing is two things. [00:04:55] The calling, the word for the mantle means adequate. [00:04:58] And Paul said, we're not adequate, but in him we're adequate. [00:05:02] He makes us adequate. [00:05:03] It means ample. [00:05:04] Maybe we don't have the ability. [00:05:05] It gives us the, whatever we're called for, the mantle gives us the ability to do what we're called for. [00:05:10] Whatever God has called you for, the anointing will be more than enough. [00:05:15] We'll be ample to do it. [00:05:16] We have to trust him, not in ourselves, but from him. [00:05:19] And the last thing adoret means, your calling, your mantle, literally in the Hebrew, it means glorious. [00:05:26] What is it? [00:05:27] What is your calling? [00:05:27] You may not, we don't realize what our calling is. [00:05:29] We only get glimpses of it. [00:05:30] It's glorious. [00:05:31] Whatever God has, glorious. [00:05:33] It says he's called it. [00:05:34] We go from glory to glory. [00:05:35] If we will rise to it, you know, so don't be discouraged if you see a gap. [00:05:39] That's a good thing. [00:05:40] It means, as I said, if you were a kid and you get this big thing, say, it doesn't fit. [00:05:44] I'm discouraged. [00:05:45] No, no, that's, look, that's how big you're going to become under that. [00:05:48] Because that's not being who you are.
