Jim Bakker Show - Fixing American Infrastructure - Dr. William Forstchen Aired: 2017-01-19 Duration: 02:35 === Chicago's Deadly Crisis (02:35) === [00:00:00] Chicago, what has happened during the holidays? [00:00:06] Record deaths, record murders. [00:00:09] It's what, 500 dead this year? [00:00:12] Yes. [00:00:12] Over 500 dead just this year. [00:00:14] The casualty rate in Chicago is higher than our combat casualty rate in Afghanistan. [00:00:22] Higher. [00:00:24] And remember, that was a big issue. [00:00:26] Yeah, but that was a big issue in 2008. [00:00:28] I'm going to get all the Americans out of there because we're tired of seeing Americans being killed there. [00:00:33] And yet the person who was saying that, the very city he came from, has a casualty rate higher than that war, and he is totally silent. [00:00:43] If you were given Detroit or you were President, what would you recommend we do with Detroit, Michigan? [00:00:56] We have to rebuild our infrastructure, and we have given away open trade agreements and trade agreements that favor our opponents and not us. [00:01:10] Again, Robin and I were driving to, we were going to some conference or something last week, and there was a big, one of those oversized vehicles with the warning trucks, and on it was this huge transformer, electrical transformer. [00:01:25] And I commented to her. [00:01:26] I said, see that? [00:01:28] Definitely not made in America. [00:01:31] Our whole infrastructure is dependent upon those supersized transformers that are big oversized boxes in a way. [00:01:39] They are made in China. [00:01:41] They are made in Sweden. [00:01:44] One of the phrases I would do as President is, no, they are going to be made in America. [00:01:48] I would revitalize our American industry. [00:01:50] I would like to see this is going to get me in trouble because I am a college professor. [00:01:58] Do we really need more degrees in medieval poetry that cost $100,000 to $200,000 to get? [00:02:05] Now, I am for freedom of speech. [00:02:07] You want to study medieval poetry? [00:02:09] Great, but don't expect me to pay off your student loan and that you are going to get a $100,000 job interpreting Nordic poems from the 12th century. [00:02:19] But if you want to learn a skill, a true skill of manufacturing in a technological age, by golly, we are going to see you get there because you will be getting a $100,000 a year job, revitalizing American industry. [00:02:34] Those things that are hard to find.
