[00:00:00]  The church doesn't understand that he's coming back to rule from the earth.
[00:00:07]  That's a concept.
[00:00:09]  See, Gabriel promised, this is not an Old Testament idea, it's in the New Testament too.
[00:00:15]  Gabriel told Mary that her child would sit on the throne of David.
[00:00:22]  The throne of David did not exist in the Roman period.
[00:00:25]  Rome ran things.
[00:00:27]  And yet that was the promise.
[00:00:29]  He's never sat on that throne.
[00:00:31]  He's going to sit on that throne.
[00:00:33]  And we need to understand the church in general has blinded itself to the whole concept of David's throne.
[00:00:41]  They don't understand the difference between the temple of Solomon and the palace of the king.
[00:00:48]  They're different.
[00:00:49]  And the palace of the king is what is promised to him all through the Old Testament, all through the New Testament.
[00:00:56]  He reconfirmed it at his Annunciation.
[00:01:00]  He reconfirmed it at the Ascension.
[00:01:02]  And so part of what the church needs to be able to preach is a piece of perspective that many of them rejected.
[00:01:11]  It's astonishing to discover.
[00:01:13]  It's my suspicion, I don't know the numbers, it's my suspicion that nine out of ten churches have no grasp of what the throne of David really means.
[00:01:23]  When we say the Lord's Prayer, thy kingdom come, when we pray for that, they don't know what they're praying for.
[00:01:29]  They're praying for Jesus to take his throne.
[00:01:33]  And he's going to.
[00:01:36]  He's going to.
[00:01:37]  And that's staggering.
[00:01:38]  One of the things we should do, all of us, how many are looking ready for him to come back?
[00:01:44]  Do you realize that when he comes back, that sets the date for our final exam?
[00:01:52]  2 Corinthians chapter 5, verse 10 points out that we have an appointment at a place called the Bema seat of Jesus.
[00:02:02]  Everyone present will be saved.
[00:02:04]  Their salvation is not at issue.
[00:02:07]  What is at issue is the fruit that's come from the activities the Holy Spirit's been able to do in their life.
[00:02:15]  How many of you are Christians?
[00:02:16]  Can I see the show's hands?
[00:02:18]  Great.
[00:02:18]  How many of you are in the full-time ministry?
[00:02:22]  Now, why isn't your hand up?
[00:02:23]  If you're saved, aren't you in the full-time ministry?
[00:02:26]  Yes, you are.
[00:02:27]  Okay.
[00:02:29]  I have fallen in love with a quotation from Mark Twain, of all people.
[00:02:34]  Okay.
[00:02:35]  Mark Twain suggested that the two most important days in a person's life is the day he was born and the day he discovers why.
[00:02:45]  That's true.
[00:02:46]  The question is, have you discovered your calling?
[00:02:52]  How many know what your calling is?
[00:02:55]  Now, you notice not all the hands can go up.
[00:02:57]  People are puzzled by that.
[00:02:59]  I think the primary quest that we each have is to discover why Jesus gave us salvation.
[00:03:09]  I believe there is a specific reason for each of us, and it's not the same for each of us.
[00:03:14]  Each of us have a calling.
[00:03:16]  And the challenge is to find out what that calling is, because it's our fruit bearing from that calling that is going to be measured at the Demon seat.
[00:03:28]  Not what we've created, what he was able to create through us by our submission to the Holy Spirit.
[00:03:34]  And so that's the challenge.
