[00:00:00]  You know, you've done a lot of traveling lately, and tell us some of the things that you've seen, some of the things that God is saying.
[00:00:10]  You know, I think sometimes when you sit in one spot like I do, our ears are to the internets and to the networks and all.
[00:00:20]  But there's a groundswell that God speaks to his people.
[00:00:25]  Exactly.
[00:00:26]  And I believe, and I don't even know what I'm asking.
[00:00:29]  All I'm asking is, what is God saying out there?
[00:00:32]  What are you seeing?
[00:00:34]  Yeah, I mean, there's so much in terms of you saying, you know, the Lord's opened your eyes and given you so much revelation.
[00:00:42]  Yes, the Lord's used me to put a lot of this information into a book.
[00:00:46]  But for the past 15 years, so frequently have I got emails or met people that said, Joel, I read your book, you know, 20 years ago, 15 years ago.
[00:00:57]  I had these dreams.
[00:00:58]  Look at these dreams that I had.
[00:00:59]  Or, you know, the Lord's been showing these things to me, exactly what you write, but, you know, you articulated it so well.
[00:01:06]  And as I'm traveling today, I'm running into there's the good and the bad.
[00:01:11]  There's so much of the church that is so turned off.
[00:01:15]  It's as though the more brazen things become right in front of us, the more that they hide their head in the sand.
[00:01:21]  But there is a strong remnant of believers throughout the nations.
[00:01:27]  I just came back from Canada.
[00:01:28]  I was in northern Iraq.
[00:01:30]  No matter where you go, there is a remnant of believers that are waking up that the Lord is.
[00:01:34]  It's scary that it's a remnant.
[00:01:36]  It's scary to me.
[00:01:38]  It's always a remnant.
[00:01:41]  If you're preaching what you should be preaching.
[00:01:44]  If you're preaching what you should be preaching, you'll have smaller audiences.
[00:01:49]  You'll have smaller gatherings.
[00:01:51]  I mean, that's actually the reality.
[00:01:53]  That is the truth.
[00:01:54]  There's people I know that love the Lord, but they have literally believed the lie of another gospel.
[00:02:02]  Let me just say it this way.
[00:02:04]  Turn off the shallow American gospel.
[00:02:08]  Stop listening to the gospel that says that Jesus died on the cross for your sins so that you can live your happiest, best, most complete, fullest life now.

=== Preparing Hearts Against Deception (02:30) ===

[00:02:19]  The pattern of the scriptures is very clear.
[00:02:21]  Embrace the cross in this age.
[00:02:23]  Now, he's going to bless us in this age far better than when we were living in the world.
[00:02:28]  There's no question about that.
[00:02:29]  But the pattern of the scriptures is take up your cross and follow Jesus.
[00:02:34]  And then you receive glory.
[00:02:35]  You inherit glory in the age to come.
[00:02:37]  But that, like you say, doesn't really feel churches.
[00:02:41]  Come and die.
[00:02:42]  No.
[00:02:43]  That's what you're saying.
[00:02:44]  Yeah, I'm thinking about it.
[00:02:44]  Take up your cross.
[00:02:46]  I'm going to write a book that's going to be called Your Most Pitiful Life Now.
[00:02:52]  And we'll see.
[00:02:53]  Because Paul said, if Christ has not been raised from the dead, then we of all people are to be pitied, right?
[00:03:00]  If we're actually Christians, then of all the people on the earth, we should be pitied.
[00:03:04]  Why?
[00:03:04]  Because we are embracing the cross.
[00:03:06]  We're making sacrifices.
[00:03:08]  We're doing the hard things in order to inherit the glory in the age to come.
[00:03:15]  Not only is the danger deception.
[00:03:17]  Deception is always the first.
[00:03:18]  Whenever they talk about the, what's the first thing?
[00:03:20]  Deception.
[00:03:21]  But there's another big issue.
[00:03:23]  The love of most will grow cold.
[00:03:26]  Now, here's the thing.
[00:03:27]  Let me say this about the Coptic Christians.
[00:03:31]  I didn't watch the full beheading.
[00:03:34]  I want to warn all of you, these videos are all over the place.
[00:03:36]  This stuff will give you brain damage.
[00:03:40]  I agree.
[00:03:41]  These are things that you shouldn't see.
[00:03:42]  I have seen some of them.
[00:03:44]  When these 21 Coptic Christians were martyred, I watched that video, and I'm not a big crier.
[00:03:52]  I sobbed like a baby as I looked, a series of them, the courage and the peace and the confidence that was on their face, and they knew exactly what was coming.
[00:04:03]  Now, I posted an article, some commentary on my blog, and I said, we all need to be preparing ourselves for martyrdom.
[00:04:11]  And a lot of the church that's awake, that are my regular readers, were furious.
[00:04:17]  We're furious.
[00:04:18]  And there is this, you know, righteous indignation.
[00:04:21]  Kill ISIS.
[00:04:22]  Look what they've done.
[00:04:23]  And listen, I'm all for military intervention and I'm all for justice.
[00:04:27]  But we need to be guarding our hearts, not only about deception, but in the days ahead, we need to be preparing our hearts not to grow cold in love.
[00:04:35]  And it's going to get harder and harder.
[00:04:38]  And we need to be storing up and preparing, but we need to be preparing our hearts to endure the days ahead.
