Jim Bakker Show - An Amazing Coconut Success Story Aired: 2015-04-16 Duration: 04:16 === Dr. Newport's Alzheimer's Quest (03:43) === [00:00:00] I often get people contacting me and tell me how coconut oil has helped them or family members overcome certain health problems, including neurological problems like Alzheimer's, MS, dementia. [00:00:12] And I had the doctor, Mary Newport is her name, contact me, and she told me that she was having success with her Alzheimer's husband, Steve. [00:00:24] And Steve started developing Alzheimer's at the age of 53. [00:00:29] So he had early onset Alzheimer's. [00:00:32] And he had had it for about five years when she contacted me. [00:00:38] And so she started putting him on all the Alzheimer's drugs from the very beginning since she was a doctor. [00:00:44] But it didn't do any good. [00:00:45] And he still digressed. [00:00:48] And so she was getting desperate. [00:00:49] And so she started looking for new drugs, experimental drugs that haven't been approved yet. [00:00:54] And she wanted to enroll him in one of these studies. [00:00:57] And so she started studying all of the new drugs that are coming down for treatment of Alzheimer's. [00:01:04] And in her research, she found one particular drug that showed great promise. [00:01:09] This drug in preliminary studies showed that after taking the drug, it actually improved the memory of patients. [00:01:18] This has never happened before. [00:01:20] There is no drug on the market that can actually improve on Alzheimer's. [00:01:25] The very best you can hope to do is to slow down the degeneration. [00:01:30] Nothing can stop it and nothing can reverse it. [00:01:33] But this drug actually showed improvement. [00:01:36] And so she was really excited to enroll him. [00:01:40] And so she did. [00:01:40] She tried to put him in the study, but he had to take a test called the MMSE test, mini-mental state exam test, which is a test that determines your degree of dementia. [00:01:52] And there's 30 questions on it. [00:01:54] They had him take this test before he could enroll. [00:01:57] And so he took the test and he scored a 12, which was almost in the severe stage. [00:02:02] It was so bad that he was rejected from the study. [00:02:06] He was considered too far gone, hopeless. [00:02:09] And so they sent him home. [00:02:11] But Dr. Newport, she had done her homework. [00:02:14] And in her research, she happened to come across the patent application for this particular drug. [00:02:21] And so she had studied it, and she knew the preliminary research. [00:02:25] She knew the science behind why it is believed to work. [00:02:30] And interestingly enough, in this patent application, also included the basic formula. [00:02:34] And so she knew what was in it. [00:02:36] And it contained one active ingredient. [00:02:40] And that ingredient was medium-chain fatty acids derived from coconut oil, the basic fats that are in coconut oil. [00:02:48] And since she knew that and was rejected from the study, she thought, well, how about if we just try using coconut oil? [00:02:55] So she went to her health food store, bought a jar of virgin coconut oil, brought it home. [00:02:59] She calculated how much coconut oil she'd have to give him to equal the amount of the medium chain fatty acids they were using in the study. [00:03:07] And it came to two and a half tablespoons. [00:03:11] And so she started putting two and a half tablespoons in his oatmeal in the morning. [00:03:16] And this is actually two weeks after he was rejected from the study. [00:03:20] And then that afternoon, they had another appointment with a neurologist. [00:03:25] And so after taking it for the first time, he went to that study. === Phenomenal Improvements (00:47) === [00:03:29] And this neurologist had him retake the MMSE test. [00:03:33] This time, he scored an 18. [00:03:36] He scored 12 two weeks before. [00:03:40] Now, this is phenomenal because this doesn't happen. [00:03:44] Alzheimer's patients don't spontaneously get better, jump from a 12 to an 18. [00:03:50] They always digress, get worse. [00:03:53] This was phenomenal. [00:03:54] The doctor had never seen anything like this. [00:03:56] And so Dr. Newport knew they had stumbled upon something phenomenal. [00:04:00] And since that time, they started continually giving him, Steve, this coconut oil every day. [00:04:07] And over the next year, he had phenomenal improvements. [00:04:11] Dr. Mary prayed, too. [00:04:13] Yes. [00:04:14] And I read in the book. [00:04:15] I'm sorry, Joseph.
