Jim Bakker Show - Time to Prepare Is Now Aired: 2015-04-03 Duration: 04:03 === Be Prepared (03:36) === [00:00:00] How long have you been preparing your church, would you say? [00:00:03] Well, I've been preaching preparedness for a long time, many years, seven or eight years. [00:00:08] Really? [00:00:09] At least. [00:00:10] And longer than me, probably. [00:00:14] Maybe. [00:00:14] I don't know. [00:00:14] It may have started the same time. [00:00:16] Because, you know, it was back then when you and I were getting together a lot. [00:00:20] I don't know, but I felt like the Lord showed me that. [00:00:22] I felt like back then I would encourage our people when you go to a store, just buy a couple of extra cans or a few whatever and set them aside. [00:00:32] And you don't have to panic. [00:00:33] You don't have to do it all at once. [00:00:35] That was years ago. [00:00:37] I would step it up as I believe the time is getting shorter. [00:00:40] Now buy four cans, six cans, eight cans. [00:00:44] And now you can buy these buckets and this food and everything. [00:00:48] And I am telling our people, look, you don't have a whole lot more time, I don't think, when many things can happen that can require us to need that kind of preparation. [00:00:59] But I think it's valid. [00:01:01] And I also think it's wisdom, and I think it is the Lord's will. [00:01:10] You know, we often build our theology on the extremes of Scripture, which is a basic conflict with Scripture. [00:01:19] And I hear people saying all the time, well, the Lord said he would take care of me. [00:01:23] And he does. [00:01:24] He will. [00:01:25] But how does he do that? [00:01:26] I mean, he used Joseph. [00:01:27] He took care of Joseph, but he had Joseph do something. [00:01:30] And most of the time, he has his people do something. [00:01:34] You know, we have a couple of incidents in Scripture where he says, stand and see the salvation of the Lord. [00:01:39] You don't have to do anything. [00:01:40] I'm going to take care of this. [00:01:41] Well, many Christians build their whole theology on that when there are 200 times when he tells his people to fight. [00:01:48] Fight to take your land. [00:01:49] Fight. [00:01:49] I mean, over and over. [00:01:50] Most of the time. [00:01:51] So you don't base your theology on the extremes, but you're always open to that. [00:01:57] If the Lord speaks, that trumps everything. [00:02:00] But I'm not going to base that on an idealistic view. [00:02:05] I want to hear loud and clear, and on something this important, I want Gabriel to come with a scroll. [00:02:11] I'm telling you. [00:02:12] You know, I mean, it's really to violate the weight of scripture, you want serious, high-level revelation, not just an impression. [00:02:21] That's right. [00:02:22] You know, so the weight of scripture tells me, be prepared. [00:02:27] Now. [00:02:30] And you were very strong telling your congregation. [00:02:35] And you've started to have supplies at your ministry. [00:02:40] And you're even, I think you said you're putting out a catalog so your people can find things. [00:02:45] And, you know, you and I may be the only church preparing, but I think there's thousands of them really. [00:02:50] There are. [00:02:51] There are many. [00:02:52] And on different levels. [00:02:54] But I think it is a word that is becoming increasingly well received, and it's important that it is. [00:03:00] But, you know, what we also teach is, okay, if you know that power may be out for a while and different things, this is how you would prepare. [00:03:09] I think you need to mirror that with spiritual preparation. [00:03:13] Amen. [00:03:14] We need to have Bibles, Bible studies. [00:03:17] Your neighbors, without their television coming on, are going to be ready to read anything you give them. === Harvest Time (00:41) === [00:03:23] That's right. [00:03:24] You know, to me, this is harvest time. [00:03:26] Yes. [00:03:26] This is harvest time. [00:03:32] It's our time. [00:03:32] It's the church time. [00:03:33] It's the soul wedding time. [00:03:35] Right. [00:03:35] And natural food. [00:03:37] I want to have enough to, if I know there's a family next door where I can bring them a meal or whatever and say, look, I know you're probably, and bring them material to read. [00:03:47] This really is the time we've got to prepare for salvation, for saving souls. [00:03:53] Yes. [00:03:53] And for discipling them. [00:03:55] And I believe it's going to be the best of times we've ever experienced. [00:03:59] But we don't want to have we don't want to be the ones that need ministry.
