[00:00:00]  Maybe some of you have seen the Jordanian pilot being burned alive.

[00:00:07]  I had to.
[00:00:08]  It's my job in a way.
[00:00:10]  But what the personal side of that was, I'm sitting at my computer horrified, and then I look over my bookshelf and here is this book cover of a woman wreathed in flames.

[00:00:26]  Yeah.
[00:00:26]  Take a deep breath, Bill.
[00:00:28]  My fiancé designed the cover.
[00:00:30]  That's her.
[00:00:31]  That's a silhouette of her.
[00:00:33]  I called her up on the spot.
[00:00:35]  I lost it.
[00:00:35]  It was just that personal connection of this person who I love with all my heart.
[00:00:41]  And she designed this cover back in August.
[00:00:45]  And then to see the Jordanian pilot as he's dying striking that same pose as he's collapsing in flames.
[00:00:51]  And in answer to your question, Pastor, as to what does ISIS want, I can put it into three or four words.
[00:00:58]  All of us dead.
[00:01:01]  All of us dead.
[00:01:03]  Dead.
[00:01:03]  That's it.
[00:01:05]  So that's all I need to say maybe for the next hour.

[00:01:10]  What we are looking at both with ISIS, and we've got to remember, these are two different wings of Islam.
[00:01:17]  ISIS comes out of a form of Sunni, which is, I hope I get the pronunciation correct, Salafism.
[00:01:26]  Salafism means to go back to the original teachings, as they see it, of what they call the Salif al-Saleen, which is the pious forefathers.
[00:01:38]  So they believe they're returning Islam to its purest form as it was practiced at the time that Muhammad was alive, which included everything they're doing now.
[00:01:50]  Apostates, meaning supposed Muslims who are not following their version, face horrific death, mutilation.
[00:01:59]  Christians and Jews, kill them all.
[00:02:02]  If you read the article that's in Atlantic Monthly, and which is interesting, is this is by no means coming from a, shall we say, a right-wing publication.
[00:02:13]  I've always viewed it as a bit to the left, but for a mainstream magazine like this to publish this article was startling.
[00:02:21]  You can get it online.
[00:02:22]  You don't even have to buy the magazine directly.
[00:02:24]  And in there, it states that they wish to create an apocalyptic war.
[00:02:30]  In their version of the apocalypse, there will be an ultimate final conflict until only 5,000   ⁇  this is weird.
[00:02:40]  They want to fight a war that they're going to essentially lose in the end until only 5,000 of their fighters are left, at which point they believe that then triggers the end times.
[00:02:51]  And here's the weird part.
[00:02:52]  They believe that Christ will come to fight on their side.
[00:02:57]  Now is that strange to us or is that strange?
[00:03:00]  So that is their version.
[00:03:02]  I wouldn't believe you if I hadn't had many theologians say the same thing the last couple weeks.
[00:03:08]  So they want to see this apocalyptic war that slaughters us by the millions, by the hundreds of millions, until only 5,000 of them are left.
[00:03:18]  Then they have their end time.
[00:03:19]  So here we have, that's the Sunni version.
[00:03:22]  Out of Iran, we have a different version of creating an apocalyptic war, at which point their hidden Amman, a leader who they believe is actually hiding in the bottom of a well in what they call the holy city of Quom, this hidden Imman will emerge and then lead them to victory.
[00:03:42]  So we have these.
[00:03:43]  So they want destruction.
[00:03:45]  They, yes.
[00:03:46]  They want a powerful.
[00:03:46]  We have to rethink the nature of warfare.
[00:03:50]  The Western concept in warfare is to strive towards a particular victory.
[00:03:58]  The Union's cause during the American Civil War, reunification.
[00:04:01]  The South's cause of victory that creates a separate nation.
[00:04:05]  Germany's version of victory is usually about winning a war.
[00:04:11]  We are now facing an enemy who wants to see total destruction.
[00:04:17]  The comment I like to make on this is that when we look at the Cold War, thank heavens, the communists were allegedly atheist because they wanted to inherit a material world that was still functioning.
[00:04:29]  Therefore, we have what was called MAAD, mutual assured destruction.
[00:04:34]  Meaning, you nuke us, we nuke you, nobody wins.
[00:04:37]  So for the communist leadership of Russia, it became a no-win proposition.
[00:04:41]  We're now facing an enemy that goes, great, let's do it.
[00:04:46]  Let's destroy the world.
[00:04:48]  Because then that fulfills our prophecy, and all of you will go to hell, and we will get our reward in paradise.
[00:04:55]  As we say, we have the story of the Revelation.
[00:04:59]  This is the flip side of it.
[00:05:00]  That's right.
[00:05:01]  Exactly.
[00:05:02]  That's exactly it.
[00:05:03]  And you're waiting, and you're saying, oh, those things haven't come to pass.
[00:05:09]  The Antichrist system, the whole world system is already in place.
[00:05:14]  It's later than you think.
[00:05:15]  Exactly.
[00:05:16]  Exactly.
[00:05:18]  We have refused to study the book of Revelation.
