Hodgetwins - Trump’s EBT Changes Just Hit… the Internet Explodes! Aired: 2026-04-23 Duration: 10:30 === SNAP Restrictions Spark Anger (02:01) === [00:00:00] So, the EBT restrictions all over the country is starting to kick in, and the EBT crowd is melting down all over the country. [00:00:08] Check these people out. [00:00:09] Yeah, that's right, Anthony. [00:00:10] For many Jacksonville families, SNAP benefits are essential, but access to healthy, affordable food isn't always easy. [00:00:18] With new restrictions on what can be bought, some say it's adding more challenges. [00:00:23] Now I'm being told what I can buy and what I can't buy, and I don't think that's right. [00:00:28] Rhonda Jackson is one of thousands in Jacksonville who rely on SNAP benefits. [00:00:33] Each month. [00:00:35] She says the new restrictions are already making grocery shopping more difficult. [00:00:40] I couldn't even get Arizona, V8 juice, or Welch's juice with my food stamps. [00:00:47] Under the new rules, recipients can no longer use benefits to buy soda, energy drinks, candy, and ultra processed desserts like snack cakes and cookies. [00:00:57] The changes went into effect on April 20th. [00:01:00] Jackson says confusion at checkout has added to her frustration. [00:01:04] As both customers and store employees adjust to the changes, I feel like we should be able to choose because all food is healthy. [00:01:16] It's whether or not you indulge in it. [00:01:20] Oh, all food is healthy. [00:01:22] It's just a matter of you indulging. [00:01:28] Okay, it makes sense. [00:01:29] The government can give it and the government can take it away. [00:01:34] High sugary drinks, more likely you end up going to the hospital. [00:01:37] And guess who's going to pay for that? [00:01:39] The government. [00:01:40] That's why they cut back on all these sugary and unhealthy foods. [00:01:43] Yeah, but check out these other people. [00:01:45] They're melting down. [00:01:48] So I've been dealing with this all morning. [00:01:50] I am angry as. [00:01:53] And I know that it's people who are not as diligent as I am who are probably losing their minds right now. === Government Aid vs Job Hunt (08:29) === [00:02:01] Basically, y'all know I lost my job like almost two years ago now, and I've been trying. [00:02:06] To get back at the same salary point really is just. [00:02:10] It's impossible at this point. [00:02:12] Y'all know what black women are going through trying to get back in work regardless. [00:02:16] So i'm on snap benefits. [00:02:18] The letters just came out today that everyone who has not met the requirements for work requirement are being kicked off may 1st. [00:02:27] If you're being kicked off of snap may 1st, please check in, double tap, leave a comment, please let me know. [00:02:33] I just went off on the caseworker right, because she's like, did you get all of these 20 notices? [00:02:38] I got every notice telling you that you need to do work requirement. [00:02:42] Yes, we got the damn notices. [00:02:43] Y'all keep sending them right, but y'all send these notices with this boilerplate language and it's basically like, the way that you go and fulfill the work requirement is you either go online, you manage your case online, you go to a local office and you talk to a case manager, or you I don't know what the other bet. [00:03:02] So i'm going online. [00:03:04] I done completed the mid-year report and for me it's just like, I know I have a master's degree, but I know it's people who receive a snap who barely could read in the first Grade education level, fifth grade education level, whatever. [00:03:16] So I go on there and I complete the report because they tell you on this website, they give you hyperlinks telling you, go here if you need to complete this, go here if you need to upload this. [00:03:25] God, during this whole process, I don't see nothing on the website saying, this is how you submit your work requirement or click this link to submit your documentation for work requirement. [00:03:37] Now, as someone who goes through certification, who has been through certification for unemployment, what I don't understand is how are these agencies so different? [00:03:45] Why is it so much? [00:03:46] easier for me to complete certification. [00:03:49] Quick little questionnaire through unemployment, Department of Employment Security, but where there's a monthly benefit requirement for food stamps, there is no explicit instruction in the notices. [00:04:05] There is no explicit hyperlink or web page for people to submit for their work requirement. [00:04:11] I'm saying this because it is clear and apparent to me that these people don't even, they hire these people at the agency who are like, we sent you the notice and the notice. [00:04:20] Says ABC. [00:04:21] I almost said the B word. [00:04:23] Don't you think I read that? [00:04:24] I'm a master's degree candidate. [00:04:27] Not even a candidate. [00:04:27] I'm a master's degree person. [00:04:30] A master's degree candidate means you're about to get your master's degree. [00:04:34] Now you say you have a master's degree. [00:04:35] Well, which is it? [00:04:37] She's a master's degree person. [00:04:39] How can you go about finding a job for two years? [00:04:43] Are you really looking for a job? [00:04:45] No, she's being picky. [00:04:46] She wants the same job. [00:04:48] She wants to stay in the same field with the same amount of money. [00:04:50] She's not willing to take a pay cut. [00:04:52] That's a problem. [00:04:53] You know what she's doing? [00:04:54] She's doing what that dude did on Seinfeld Show. [00:04:58] He wanted to stay on unemployment so he'll go apply for like the president of a company. [00:05:01] If he doesn't get it, I'm still out of a job. [00:05:03] That's what she's doing, right? [00:05:05] That's probably what she's doing. [00:05:06] Just being lazy. [00:05:07] Man, it just sounds like too much of a hassle, man. [00:05:09] Go out and get you a job or go into a new field. [00:05:11] You can't be picky. [00:05:13] Beggars can't be choosers. [00:05:14] You got to go out there and do what you got to do. [00:05:16] You'd rather rely on the government to take care of you? [00:05:20] That's a lose lose situation no matter what situation you're in, no matter if you got a master's or not. [00:05:26] Master's degree. [00:05:28] They say this is the most educated demographic in the country. [00:05:32] Can't find a job. [00:05:33] I read the website. [00:05:34] I know what it says. [00:05:35] And I'm telling you that your notices and the website are intentionally withholding and omitting information so that they can accomplish the agenda of President Trump. [00:05:47] The goal was always to get people off of SNAP benefits. [00:05:51] This is the way they're going to do it because there is no one who is as diligent as someone like me who has sat on the phone for four hours. [00:06:00] Hours today. [00:06:01] I've been on the phone for hours. [00:06:03] Nothing has been resolved. [00:06:05] This is adding and feeding the agenda that the president wants to kick people off of benefits. [00:06:11] Well, if you've been on benefits, snap benefits for two years, you are a deadbeat and you need to be kicked off. [00:06:17] I've been on welfare and man, I couldn't wait to get off of it. [00:06:20] It's so dehumanizing. [00:06:22] Yeah, I feel like trash. [00:06:24] I know people that's made it a career and they're the laziest, most sorry people you ever want to meet. [00:06:31] Yeah. [00:06:32] They're pathetic. [00:06:33] I agree with Trump's agenda. [00:06:36] A lot of these people, y'all try to make a career out of this. [00:06:39] SNAP benefits is not meant for that. [00:06:41] Yeah. [00:06:41] Hey, guys. [00:06:43] So I decided to jump on here just to let you guys know what's going on in my life. [00:06:49] I just found out that they closed my SNAP case from HRA because they claim for a household of one that I make too much money for a household of one. [00:07:05] I make $84 a week. [00:07:07] In unemployment, and I make only $300 every week to be a part time caregiver. [00:07:15] I don't know if y'all know in New York, but in New York, especially in the Bronx, food prices are sky high. [00:07:24] Milk is $5, $6. [00:07:26] Ground beef is almost $20. [00:07:30] HRA expects for a household of one to only make $398 a month. [00:07:36] A month. [00:07:39] Then they give you the max $298 for a household of one in food stamps, and then cash is only $91.50. [00:07:48] That's all I'm making. [00:07:50] Between food shop, y'all know how much food shopping I be doing. [00:07:53] Okay, we are a big family here. [00:07:56] There's adults here. [00:07:57] We eat like grown men. [00:07:59] We are grown men in this house. [00:08:01] We eat a lot of food. [00:08:03] Food costs a good $500, $600 per visit. [00:08:08] Okay, even in Walmart, we still pay $200, $300 per visit. [00:08:15] You times that by four, that's almost $1,300. [00:08:19] That's how much I make. [00:08:20] In a month. [00:08:21] That's what they claim I make in a month. [00:08:24] I don't think it's fair, personally, for them to take me off snap. [00:08:28] I'm not making enough. [00:08:29] I'm barely. [00:08:31] Man, shut up. [00:08:31] I think if you're an adult and you're not physically disabled, if I was a president, I read an executive order. [00:08:38] You only get snap benefits for three months. [00:08:40] After that, you're kicked off. [00:08:42] Yeah. [00:08:43] Sink or swim. [00:08:46] Yeah, you spent all this time. [00:08:48] What? [00:08:48] He said he was on the phone four hours. [00:08:50] Look, you. [00:08:51] The other woman. [00:08:51] The other woman. [00:08:52] Then you spent all this time shooting videos. [00:08:54] Complaining about it. [00:08:55] Complaining ain't gonna change anything. [00:08:58] You need to go out, find a job. [00:09:00] The word of the day is job. [00:09:03] J O B. That's the word of the day, kids. [00:09:08] It's job. [00:09:09] Man, you could go out and get you a security job, man, wearing that ridiculous uniform. [00:09:16] I heard they're paying $13, $14 an hour just to walk around. [00:09:21] And if you get a gun, I think they give you an extra 50 cents an hour. [00:09:27] Man, y'all sit back here complaining about what food you can buy and what food you can't buy. [00:09:32] You're on government assistance. [00:09:33] You people are pathetic. [00:09:35] You're complaining about the government taking care of you. [00:09:39] What is. [00:09:40] Hey, whatever. [00:09:42] Whatever. [00:09:42] There's no shame. [00:09:43] There's no shame. [00:09:44] Like when we were kids, we were on food stamps after my dad died. [00:09:48] We were having a tough transition with money and whatnot. [00:09:51] My mama would have us in the store when she's paying for food stamps. [00:09:54] She'd have Kevin stand to one side and I stand to the other side. [00:09:57] Nobody could see she's paying with food stamps. [00:09:59] To block all the white people. [00:10:01] You know what I'm saying? [00:10:01] What my mama is using for food stamps. [00:10:03] Yeah, because it was embarrassing. [00:10:04] Now these people have no shame. [00:10:06] Yeah, yeah. [00:10:07] Hey, everybody, there's hope. [00:10:10] I'm giving away a new truck of Ram 2,500 Ram Laramie at $10,000. [00:10:18] Cold, hard cash. [00:10:19] I'm stunning. [00:10:19] I'm so excited. [00:10:20] I can't wait to give this truck away. [00:10:22] To get in and win, go to officialhawkstwins.com. [00:10:25] Any purchase you make on our site gets you automatically in and win.
