[00:00:00]  So, this guy's driving down the road and he sees this accident.
[00:00:04]  There's the guy laying right there.
[00:00:07]  You know, he's a good Samaritan.
[00:00:09]  He's going to help him.
[00:00:10]  Watch what happens next.
[00:00:13]  This is nuts.
[00:00:16]  Don't want to lose my humanity.
[00:00:20]  We're put on this earth to help each other.
[00:00:22]  And that's exactly what Hans Hamilton tried to do Monday morning on the 429 Expressway in Winter Garden.
[00:00:28]  I saw a car crash.
[00:00:29]  I saw a door open.
[00:00:31]  So, then.
[00:00:32]  A good person, any human being would see.
[00:00:34]  He would just pull over to check.
[00:00:36]  As Hamilton parks his Tesla, the man in the red t-shirt appeared to be lying motionless on the ground.
[00:00:41]  Hear bikes dropping by.
[00:00:44]  I rolled down my window.
[00:00:46]  Hey, are you okay?
[00:00:47]  Are you okay?
[00:00:48]  No response.
[00:00:49]  No answer.
[00:00:50]  This person's dead.
[00:00:51]  So I open up my car door.
[00:00:53]  As soon as I open that car door, he was off that ground.
[00:00:56]  So he was waiting.
[00:00:57]  This video from a camera in his car shows the man hop on the hood of the Tesla and he starts stomping on the windshield.
[00:01:03]  So that's on a little incline at 429.
[00:01:05]  It pulled me out of my car.
[00:01:06]  As I was falling backwards, he was jumping off the roof on top of me.
[00:01:10]  And that's when he started kicking and pummeling me.
[00:01:12]  A different camera captured the ambush attack and the man repeatedly punching his head.
[00:01:17]  I know on the back of my head, they counted eight different bumps, plus the kicks to the jaw, which I can finally today, I'm able to eat a thin sandwich, but I still can't open my mouth all the way.
[00:01:29]  Hamilton says the suspect, later identified as 44-year-old Daniel Komen, threatened to take his life.
[00:01:35]  So the whole time he's hitting me, he's telling me he's going to kill me.
[00:01:38]  And he didn't just tell me.
[00:01:39]  His eyes were void of any humanity.
[00:01:42]  I believed it.
[00:01:43]  So when I was fighting, I knew the last thing I was going to see was not that ground.
[00:01:50]  Hamilton explained how he managed to get off the ground and away from his attacker.
[00:01:54]  I mean, I cannot beat him strength-wise, so I have to try to incapacitate him.
[00:01:58]  So I think I was pommeling in his jugular vein in his neck.
[00:02:01]  Deputies arrested Komen for battery and criminal mischief for what he did to Hamilton and his car.
[00:02:06]  He's also facing charges of resisting with violence, as well as assault and battery on the first responding deputy.
[00:02:12]  He attacks the cop.
[00:02:13]  Cops on the ground rolling.
[00:02:15]  What do I do?
[00:02:15]  Four broken ribs, jump on the ground with the cop.
[00:02:18]  And at that point, somebody ran across the street, across the freeway, and we're all trying to get this guy cuffed as he's still fighting.
[00:02:25]  Hamilton also suffered a brain bleed, multiple contusions, and a concussion.
[00:02:30]  Physically, the body's doing what it should do, and it's healing, but it's very painful.
[00:02:35]  Four broken ribs is no joke.
[00:02:37]  Eventually, it's a little more difficult.
[00:02:39]  He says he's grateful for the kindness of strangers who are making donations on his GoFundMe page for his auto and medical bills.
[00:02:46]  So the point is, there's still kindness in the world.
[00:02:49]  People are donating that don't even know me.
[00:02:51]  And I'm very thankful.

[00:03:12]  It's just like a perfectly parked car with a guy laying out.
[00:03:15]  That's why nobody stopped for him.
[00:03:16]  Everybody kept driving and said, No, that don't look right.
[00:03:18]  That looked like a setup.
