[00:00:32] that mean not even old enough to possess those goods spring break chaos in daytona beach Four shootings in just 24 hours. [00:00:47] This is video from one of those shootings Saturday night. [00:00:49] It started as a fight, and then you heard those gunshots. [00:00:53] One woman there was hit by a bullet. [00:00:56] She was one of three people shot in those four shootings. [00:00:59] We also saw this in Daytona this weekend, video of a crowd of people running for cover. [00:01:03] And Fox 35's Chris Lindsey joins us live on the beach tonight. [00:01:06] So, Chris, despite what you see on social media, the sheriff says this stampede is not connected to one of those shootings, though. [00:01:14] Yes, when people were out here on the shore, they heard a couple of loud pops, and they thought they were gunshots. [00:01:19] The sheriff says they were actually from water bottles. [00:01:22] He says people were crushing them, trying to cause havoc, making that noise. [00:01:26] And that's why they took off. [00:01:28] It's crazy. [00:01:29] What? [00:01:30] Yeah, like that video you saw. [00:01:32] Yeah, you thought it was gunshot. [00:01:33] No, it was kids that are doing that. [00:01:34] Of course, there were black kids. [00:01:36] I mean, you're supposed to go to the beach to relax a spring break, maybe meet a girl, make out, you know, maybe get lucky, right? [00:01:44] They're out there doing this nonsense. [00:01:46] You might even get lucky enough to get a white girl. [00:01:49] Man, white people sell those black people, they run. [00:01:53] The first week of spring break in Daytona Beach brought another huge, unapproved party out on the shore. [00:01:59] Kristen Dorito says she pulled up to her timeshare to absolute chaos. [00:02:04] There was like women that didn't have tops on and string phones, people standing in front of us, wouldn't let us move. [00:02:11] My kids are all in the vehicle with us. [00:02:14] It was absolutely scary, and I'm not easily offended or scared. [00:02:18] The weekend ended with over 80 arrests for open containers, underage drinking, marijuana, and in some cases, illegal guns. [00:02:26] In addition to that, there were a total of four shootings in the area on Saturday alone. [00:02:33] Three people were hit. [00:02:38] Two teens and a 59-year-old man. [00:02:40] No suspects have been named and no arrests have been made yet. [00:02:44] We probably will not be coming back today because of this. [00:02:48] Despite the huge crowds, the sheriff says when it came to law enforcement, they were mostly respectful and peaceful. [00:02:54] Oh, come on. [00:02:55] I've heard that mostly peaceful and respectful. [00:02:58] But come on, kid, give them a break, man. [00:03:00] A majority of those black kids are good kids. [00:03:04] But statistically, out of that 90%, the other 10% is going to be bad. [00:03:12] It's just mathematics. [00:03:13] But it doesn't make it mostly peaceful, Danny, Kevin. [00:03:18] Well, it's mostly peaceful. [00:03:19] Only eight people got shot. [00:03:22] How about the other 5,000 people? [00:03:24] Nothing happened to them, so it is mostly peaceful. [00:03:26] But he wants city leaders to work with him to take more action so it stays that way. [00:03:31] Well, the sheriff says no shots were fired on the beach. [00:03:35] Daytona Beach police say they responded to four shootings within 24 hours on Saturday. [00:03:40] Everybody, we were ducking. [00:03:42] Yeah, it was like I heard pop, pop, pop, and then my husband said, get down, get down the shooting. [00:03:47] So I jumped, I ducked down behind the fence. [00:03:49] So people were fighting in the street, and they just kept attacking this one kid, and he'd get away from them. [00:03:54] And somebody over here would start attacking him again. [00:03:56] And it was just, it was horrible. [00:03:58] She says police have asked for a video as they continue investigating the shooting. [00:04:02] They say injured a 19-year-old woman from Atlanta. [00:04:05] Sheriff Jidwood says during the busy spring break weekend, his deputies arrested a total of 133 people in Daytona Beach and New Springer Beach. [00:04:13] Many were charged with having an open container, while he also says his deputies seized six weapons. [00:04:21] You know that term white flight? [00:04:23] It's real. [00:04:25] It's a reason. [00:04:27] Like, they try to make white people out to be the bad people when they take off running when they see black people. [00:04:33] White flight. [00:04:34] Oh, white people racist. [00:04:35] No, they didn't fear for their lives. [00:04:37] That's why they run. [00:04:40] Me personally, if I'm at Daytona Beach and I see a majority of minorities out there, personally, I'm going to feel uneasy. [00:04:47] I'm going to walk away because I know what comes with that. [00:04:50] Hey, Kevin, if we pulled up to Daytona Beach, I got that. [00:04:53] As soon as I got that, pulled up my car. [00:04:55] I'm like, man, what's all these doing here? [00:05:01] I'm going somewhere else. [00:05:02] Yeah. [00:05:03] The law enforcement in Daytona Beach, this is the woman they feel set this entire event up. [00:05:09] Oh, no one or nothing, but black people showed up. [00:05:11] Yeah, check this out. [00:05:13] Eliyah Brooks. [00:05:16] She got a certified letter sent her yesterday by Daytona Beach and sent to me, basically saying that it's come to our attention that you are advertising, promoting, or sponsoring, or organizing or arranging via social media at Daytona Beach Takeover. [00:05:32] An unpermitted, unsanctioned event scheduled for March 18th to March 23rd. [00:05:38] And it goes on to describe what it means, what an unsanctioned event is, how to get the proper permits. [00:05:43] And then it goes on today. [00:05:45] You are further advised that as a sponsor of this event, you will be held legally responsible for the cost associated with supplemental police, fire, EMS, and sanitation services. [00:06:00] So Elias is sitting behind a keyboard in Georgia. [00:06:07] And I think she fancies herself, this is her new career. [00:06:10] She was arrested in August of last year in Cobb County, Georgia, for promoting an event involving juveniles, which wasn't permitted. [00:06:19] It was unsanctioned, and it wreaked havoc on the community. [00:06:23] Now, her roadie here, who also features herself. [00:06:27] Just ghetto trash is what this is. [00:06:30] Yeah. [00:06:30] As a big thing, as you can see, Brittany Palmer is her roadie on this. [00:06:36] So as you can see, day three, spring break, and she's talking about what's going on. [00:06:42] She's filming, as you can see, that's her beach. [00:06:44] There's the shot tower. [00:06:45] And she's posted all of these things. [00:06:49] Again, unsanctioned, unpermitted event causing mayhem. [00:06:54] This is the worst spring break experience ever. [00:06:59] Police everywhere. [00:07:01] As y'all can see. [00:07:04] It's clearly you can't do on this beach. [00:07:08] It's a lot. [00:07:10] They're taking people to jail. [00:07:12] Oh, my God. [00:07:15] What else going on out here? [00:07:16] It's just a whole lot of racial profiling going on. [00:07:21] Just a whole lot of racial profiling going on. [00:07:23] You'll see no white people in handcuffs. [00:07:25] You don't see no white people. [00:07:26] They talk to no white people. [00:07:27] They're talking to all the black people. [00:07:28] As y'all can see. [00:07:31] This is the worst experience of spring break ever. [00:07:34] Everybody's standing around because police is literally finding people. [00:07:41] Well, people literally came out here to have a good time. [00:07:43] It's police everywhere. [00:07:44] Yo, everybody knows during spring break or when you have a big social gathering. === Police Find People Everywhere (00:47) === [00:07:49] When black people get together, they're not there to have a good time. [00:07:51] They're there to cause trouble. [00:07:52] That's why she titled that little unsanctioned get-together, Takeover. [00:07:56] It's there to cause chaos. [00:07:57] Just look at the marking bond. [00:07:59] People fighting, people twerking, just madness. [00:08:02] That's how they have fun. [00:08:04] How do white people have fun? [00:08:05] Let's be drinking, drinking, talking, conversating. [00:08:09] Throwing the football, playing flag football. [00:08:13] Throwing the frisbee. [00:08:14] Throwing the frisbee. [00:08:15] Playing fetch with the dog. [00:08:17] Black people, no, we saw shooting each other. [00:08:19] And fighting. [00:08:20] Yeah. [00:08:20] And I know a lot of people, oh, man, why you say that? [00:08:26] That's racist. [00:08:27] No, it's on top of that. [00:08:29] You're black. [00:08:31] No, it's just pattern recognition. [00:08:33] Everybody knows this. [00:08:34] I figure that everybody knows this except black people.
