Aired: 2025-11-01 Duration: 10:14 === Forced Into Sex Work (04:25) === [00:00:02] New tonight, a man says two women kidnapped him at gunpoint and forced him into sex work. [00:00:08] Court records backing up the victim's story and he's sharing it only on 13. [00:00:12] ABC 13's Luke Jones is live at the Harris County Jail detailing those six days of terror Luke. [00:00:19] Yeah, and what a terror it was. [00:00:20] So far, the only charges are aggravated kidnapping, but this man says in reality, he was really the victim of sex trafficking. [00:00:27] Masterminded, he says, by a woman who called herself Cookie, operating out of a North Harris County motel. [00:00:32] Cookie. [00:00:36] Like, it was really ghetto. [00:00:37] It was scary. [00:00:38] A young man who still shudders when he thinks about all he endured. [00:00:43] For almost a week, he says he was held captive in a room at the Regency Inn on Seifer Station near FM 1960. [00:00:50] Forced, he says, to have sex for money. [00:00:52] In front of our clothes, we're blurring his face to protect his privacy. [00:00:55] It was a lot of crackheads, like a lot of them, like a lot of sketchy, homeless people. [00:01:01] A life he says he never imagined for himself. [00:01:04] One, the Harris County Sheriff's Office says he was sucked into October 18th. [00:01:08] That's when they say one of the victim's friends, Esmeralda Pena, invited him to the regency. [00:01:14] She said that she had a job for me, like she was going to help me make some money because I didn't have a job. [00:01:18] Once here, he says he was introduced to this woman, Herbert Inc. [00:01:22] What the hell is that? [00:01:28] Look at those edges. [00:01:34] Hey, if y'all don't know what edges are, it's like it's part of black culture with black women. [00:01:39] They take their baby hair and they would comb it down over the forehead. [00:01:43] Yeah. [00:01:44] Her edges look crazy. [00:01:45] I never did like edges to tell you the truth. [00:01:47] Yeah. [00:01:48] Once here, he says he was introduced to this woman, Herbert Inc. Forrest. [00:01:52] Although when they met, he says she went by a different name. [00:01:55] Her name was Cookie. [00:01:56] Cookie, he says, quickly set about signing him up for an escort site and told him he'd have to have sex with men for money. [00:02:03] The next day, he says he saw an opportunity to escape and returned home. [00:02:08] But just four hours later, deputies say a doorbell camera shows Pena and Forrest at the victim's front door, this time with an armed man. [00:02:16] Investigators say they and Nixon Simmons forced him into a car at gun. [00:02:21] That's Nixon Simmons. [00:02:24] Look at those eyelashes. [00:02:26] So that's the man. [00:02:28] Look at them edges. [00:02:32] This is this story comes off like a comedy sketch. [00:02:35] Like this is not even real life. [00:02:38] Look at that. [00:02:40] That's I don't know what to say. [00:02:44] Investigators say they and Nixon Simmons forced him into a car at gunpoint. [00:02:48] Cookie started beating me and she was like, Don't I ever leave again? [00:02:51] Like if I ever leave, like she'll blow my brains out. [00:02:53] For the next six days, he says he was beaten, plied with drugs, and deprived of food. [00:02:59] At night, he says he was expected to solicit men in this Ross parking lot. [00:03:04] Although he says he only ever slept with one. [00:03:07] I knew that if I made them money, they would keep making me work for them. [00:03:12] They would keep me around. [00:03:13] So I just tried not to sleep with anybody. [00:03:15] Even so, he says the experience left him drained and at one point, hoping Forrest would make good on an earlier threat. [00:03:22] Like a couple days, I kind of wanted her to kill me. [00:03:26] Like I taught her to kill me, like just get it over with. [00:03:29] In the end, he says it was his aunt who saved him. [00:03:32] October 24th, he's his aunt. [00:03:34] Where's your mom at? [00:03:36] Where's your daddy at? [00:03:39] He says he was able to text her using a phone he'd hidden from his captors and that she picked him up during one of those nights out in the Ross parking lot. [00:03:47] I was just like, yeah, this is not a good place to be at. [00:03:51] And the victim says he wasn't the only one forced to do this. [00:03:53] One of the suspects, Esmeralda Peña, also beaten and made to walk the streets. [00:03:58] says right now this case still under active investigation live downtown luke jones abc third say they and nixon simmons that is nuts houston so he's um he's like that of course he's wearing a pink sweater so they told him to come to the hotel i got a job for you they didn't inform you of the job yeah if i'm going with anybody especially if they're a stranger If the job they offer me, === A Different Breed of Human (05:47) === [00:04:27] I'm going to inquire what kind of job is this. [00:04:30] Because I'm trying to determine if I'm qualified. [00:04:32] Yeah. [00:04:33] What? [00:04:34] Oh, okay. [00:04:37] Yeah. [00:04:40] I think he's leaving information out. [00:04:42] A lot of information. [00:04:43] Yeah, because you're going to go meet these women at a hotel about some job. [00:04:48] Yeah. [00:04:51] You didn't ask what the job was. [00:04:52] You know what you was getting yourself into. [00:04:54] Well, maybe I'm maybe giving him too much credit. [00:04:59] He just didn't. [00:05:01] Nobody can't be this naive. [00:05:04] If I'm walking in a parking lot and two women, one of them's obviously a man with those eyebrows and other women's with them. [00:05:12] Eyebrows, those eyelashes. [00:05:13] Look at those eyelashes. [00:05:14] Yeah, look at the eyebrows. [00:05:16] It's crazy. [00:05:18] Right? [00:05:18] And they asked me, hey, I got a job for you. [00:05:20] No, that's okay. [00:05:22] That's the first word that's coming to my mouth. [00:05:24] No, I'm good. [00:05:25] Whatever job you got, I don't, I'm not interested. [00:05:28] I might be a little curious. [00:05:30] Okay, what's this job? [00:05:32] I do. [00:05:33] I'm always looking to make an extra buck. [00:05:38] It's just not believed. [00:05:39] It's like almost like this. [00:05:41] It's almost like this news story is fake and they just, this is like acting and they just need something to build a segment. [00:05:48] No, in the hood, in the ghetto. [00:05:49] Yeah. [00:05:50] It's not even like I used to live in San Diego on the black side of the town when I was in the Marine Corps because I because I was trying to save money. [00:05:59] Man, in the ghetto, that is like a... [00:06:01] You know what's funny, kid? [00:06:02] It's like a different breed of human. [00:06:04] You know what's funny? [00:06:05] You said you went to go live in a black community. [00:06:08] Yeah. [00:06:08] To save some money. [00:06:09] White people live in white communities to save their life. [00:06:18] Yeah, man. [00:06:19] East San Diego, there was no white people over there. [00:06:22] None. [00:06:23] Yeah, man. [00:06:24] I remember my sergeant. [00:06:27] He came to meet me on that side of town. [00:06:30] He was looking at me. [00:06:31] He's like, dude, I think he was from South Carolina. [00:06:34] He's like, dude, you live here? [00:06:38] You're like not afraid? [00:06:41] Yeah. [00:06:42] Yeah, but I was, I don't know, man. [00:06:45] And I would see men just like this. [00:06:47] Yeah. [00:06:48] Just like that. [00:06:49] You'll stand on the corner. [00:06:50] You'll see more. [00:06:51] One o'clock, two o'clock morning. [00:06:52] You see men just like this. [00:06:54] And they'll look at you while you're in your car. [00:06:56] They'd be like, yes. [00:07:00] Yeah. [00:07:01] Give you the heads up. [00:07:02] Hey, I'm out here sucking all night. [00:07:10] It's kind of like they're trying to, it's like a sign. [00:07:13] Like they signifying, hey, I'm a work girl. [00:07:15] Didn't make eye contact with you. [00:07:16] You'd be like, yes. [00:07:20] Hey, Kevin, it was El Cohom Boulevard, right? [00:07:24] And you could drive down, right? [00:07:26] And then you'll see all like the working girls walking up and down the street. [00:07:30] And you could just see a mile away that was a dude. [00:07:34] Because he got these, got these shoulders. [00:07:37] And then they turn around and look just like that. [00:07:41] And I just, I just be driving down the street, just dying laughing. [00:07:44] Because I was like eight, I was 19, 20 years old.
