TikTok Vs. Jason Aldean

Jason Aldean and the Hodgetwins dissect "Try That in a Small Town," debating whether lyrics referencing sundown towns and lynch mobs constitute racism or merely defend against stereotypical crimes like carjackings. While one host calls a white man's rebuttal to a TikToker "cruel and unusual punishment," both speakers champion Aldean as a patriot and service member taking a stand against perceived societal cowards and figures like the Bidens and Obama, suggesting he deserves the Medal of Freedom upon a Trump administration return. Ultimately, the episode frames the song as a patriotic defense rather than hate speech, concluding with a promotion for a Raptor giveaway. [Automatically generated summary]

Is That Song Actually Racist 00:04:24
Yeah, got a new show for y'all.
Got a damn good show.
Anyway, um the liberals are still losing it.
What on that Jason Aldean song?
Yeah.
That song is not even remotely racist.
It doesn't even reference race.
If you think that song is racist, probably because you're crazy.
Yeah, but I just found this comeback.
This white dude had a comeback to this one TikToker.
TikTok.
She's a minority, too.
She's not white.
She was saying this.
He's black.
Only black people say.
Well, I shouldn't say that.
I don't think it's about race.
I'm still to that level.
Yeah, was she black?
It could be black, Puerto Rican.
Yeah.
This is a liberal talking part, though.
Yeah, but this white guy had this comeback.
It was cruel and an unusual punishment, but it was cruel.
Check it out.
So are we going to talk about the racist dog whistles in Jason Aldean's new song or no?
Because this got me fired up.
When I tell you there was a visceral response to hearing this song for the first time today, I mean that.
After listening to this song one time, the references that I heard were nods to sundown towns and lynch mobs.
And actually, this song is a great example of how you don't have to mention race at all for something to very obviously be about race.
So the song is called Try That in a Small Town.
And if you're with me, you already know where this is going.
So right out of the gate in the first verse, he's talking about very stereotypical crimes that you know what I'm saying.
You know what I'm saying?
Like carjackings and robbing liquor stores.
Who talks about those crimes?
Sounds like he got his inspiration for this song from Fox News.
And then he goes on to say, cuss out a cop, spit in his face, stomp on the flag, and light it up.
Yeah, you think you're tough.
Who could he be talking about there?
Because I guarantee you it's not the people from the Capitol.
So then we get to the chorus.
And this is where shit just gets wild.
So he says, well, try that in a small town.
See how far you make it down the road.
Around here, we take care of our own.
You cross that line.
It won't take long for you to find out.
I recommend you don't try that in a small town.
Tell me that that is not a reference to sundown town behavior.
The biggest threat to your race is your own kind.
Stop killing each other first.
Then worry about a goddamn song.
I like that something draw he threw in at you.
Yeah, he's out in the country.
Do you can hear them bugs up in the trees?
Yeah.
That country draw, man.
That was the cherry on top right there.
It makes it sound racist, don't it?
Well, to them, it does.
Yeah, yeah.
That dude just.
Man, that's just a term they always say.
He's speaking facts.
Yeah, that's facts right there, man.
That's facts.
Yeah, man.
White people out here killing black people like black people killing each other, man.
Yeah, but back to the song, man.
Song is a song.
That's a damn great song.
It's a beautiful song, man.
It's a damn good song.
Damn, shit went number one, didn't it?
Thinking?
It's got to go to number one.
That's got to go to number one.
That's a damn patriot right there.
Oh, good song, man.
You try that shit in a small town.
You're going to find out.
Yeah, you know what?
He had a concert.
Speaking up.
Here it is right here.
I love my country.
I love my family.
And I will do anything to protect that.
I can tell you that right now.
It takes balls to do what he did, man.
Yeah, I know.
He's jeopardizing his career.
Well, no, I don't think.
I don't think he's jeopardizing his career.
You can't be open.
It's not helping it.
Yeah.
Yeah, it's definitely not helping.
I mean, he could lose a lot of opportunities, but hey, he's standing for what he believes in.
He's doing what he thinks is right.
Yeah.
That's noble.
That takes courage.
Yeah, because over this last three, four years with COVID and this and that, I didn't realize there were so many cowards in society.
Nobody's willing to speak up.
Try to destroy my trust in the human race, man.
It's a bunch of idiots out there.
Giving Medals for Freedom 00:01:13
Yeah.
Not only are they idiots, but they're in that government.
That's scary.
Yeah.
Jason Aldean.
That's a damn patriot.
Yeah, go and give him a salute.
That's a damn American right there.
Yeah, he's a service member.
He's on the front lines.
He'll be fighting for freedom.
Fighting for freedom.
Yeah.
He should get the Freedom of the Year award.
When Trump goes back in office, or whoever goes back in office, he should get a Medal of Freedom.
What's that medal to be giving out?
You know, the Bidens and Obama, they'd be giving out the Medal of Freedom.
Yeah, they'd be giving out medals.
Yeah, they should give him a medal.
He's coming now.
Medal of Freedom.
That would drive them really crazy.
No, not, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Give him a medal and some ribbons.
Damn, good shit.
