After getting kicked out of the Navy for cocaine use and getting caught with crack cocaine and false IDs, Hunter was being criminally investigated by the Ukrainian Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin, along with other executive board members of the Burisma Natural Gas Company.
Things could have ended very badly for Hunter, but his father, Joe, was vice president, and he threatened the Ukrainian president with holding back $1 billion of U.S. taxpayers' money if he did not fire the prosecutor investigating his son Hunter.
And so he fired him.
We're not going to give you the billion dollars.
They said, you have no authority.
