The U.S. midterms are heating up, and they are not the only ones.
To prepare for next month's Brazilian presidential election, the Brazilian police for political corruption have jailed dozens of powerful businessmen and politicians.
And last Thursday, September 6th, Brazilian populist presidential candidate Jair Bolsonaro barely survived an assassination attempt while campaigning in the city of Huiz de Fora.
Bolsonaro was seen atop the shoulders of his supporters in the midst of a crowd when the assassin, standing just beneath him, stuck the blade up into his abdomen.
Screaming in pain, Bolsonaro fell back into the arms of his supporters, who quickly rushed him out of the street and off to the hospital, where he was treated for lacerations to the liver and intestine.
Bolsonaro's son Flavio said that he is out of danger.
He is fine.
The intention was to kill him.
The knife went straight to the heart, but he realized a second before.
He moved, and that way he was saved.
Bolsonaro is a retired Brazilian Army captain.
He has spent nearly three decades in Congress.
He is pro-gun.
He is known as a law and order candidate and as a political outsider.
He has attracted millions of supporters who believe he can clean up Brazil's corrupt political class.
Recent polls estimate that Bolsonaro is the favorite to win the election with a 10% lead over his nearest rival.
He is known to many of his countrymen as the Brazilian Trump.
The suspect arrested at the scene was 40-year-old Adelio Bispo de Oliveira.
He was a member of the PSOL from 2007 to 2014.
The PSOL is the Socialist Democratic Party of Brazil.
Bolsonaro faces trial for hate speech.
The globalist corporate media call him far-right and fascist.
