Sebastian Gorka FULL SHOW: Have the Russians captured Ukraine's second-biggest city?
|
Time
Text
While Ukraine and the people are hiding in subways from missiles that are being fired indiscriminately in Russian cities.
Missiles being fired indiscriminately into Russian cities.
Whatever they injected Sleepy Creepy with two days ago for the State of the Union has worn off.
That was just moments ago a cabinet meeting from the senile old man who sadly bears No monologue today.
Dennis Prager, my Salem colleague.
Ashton Gawker, former strategist to the Pride president, and I'm delighted to have with us opening the show today, no monologue today, Dennis Prager, my Salem colleague.
We are trying to connect him because for those who are not familiar with Dennis, he started his career behind the Iron Curtain, traveling across the Soviet Union.
He has a book coming out this week, but he's also going to tell us his take on what is truly happening.
In the meantime, I had a discussion right after the show with a former mentor of mine.
I can't Say more than that, apart from the fact he is the greatest Sovietologist currently advising Western governments.
And he took the time from his hotel room, it was late where he was after my show, given the time difference, to give me his take on what is happening, what you need to know about Putin, what you need to know about Ukraine and the fight so far.
Let me give you Here's observations from somebody.
Are we up with Dennis?
We are?
Dennis Prager, are you there?
He's asking if you're there, say hello.
Dennis, I can hear your producer, can't hear you.
You're gonna have to call them on the phone.
All right, we will get a phone connection.
In the meantime, here is what you need to know.
The conclusions from somebody who is the one of the world's expert.
Number one, under COVID, Vladimir Putin lost touch with the Russian people completely.
He was petrified of the coronavirus and hasn't done a public event in two years.
So that's, it's not crazy, But he is disconnected from the Russian people.
Number two, in the last two weeks, the Russian army has performed poorly, ignoring basic rules of fire and maneuver, running out of fuel, despite the fact they knew the destinations they had to reach, and not providing the requisite protective formations for their convoys.
This is military logistics 101.
And for some reason, the Russians Thirdly, Europe, without the leadership of the United States, is united.
However, other countries need to be watched who are either not criticising Putin or who are actively supporting his operations.
That includes Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
Additionally, there is a lack of a robust criticism of the actions of Moscow by both Pakistan and India, which is fascinating given that those two countries do not agree on most things.
Nevertheless, this difference, this discordance between European nations and other actors signals a geopolitical realignment in global affairs.
When it comes to the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky is what you need at this time.
He is brave, he understands communications, he's a showman and he also appreciates social media as well.
However, despite his record being one of not being corrupt, he has those around him in his near inner circle who are less clean.
He was smart to send the Speaker of the Ukrainian Assembly abroad, because that could be a colonel of a Ukrainian government in exile, because this war could take a very, very long time.
That's some of the recommendations I got from my very close friend, Premier Sovietologist Kremlin Watcher.
I will give you the rest later in the show, but we need to connect to my Rabbi, He is the author of a brand new book, The Rational Passover Haggadah.
Dennis Prager, welcome to America First.
It's great to be with you.
We're the two sort of Salem, no Russia sort of experts in our pantheon of wonderful hosts.
Yeah, we have you on the show because of the launch of your new book, which we will make time for, but for those who are not familiar with, what were you doing in your 20s, Dennis Prager, you crazy man?
Yes, well, when I was 21 years old, I started early.
Israel sent me into the Soviet Union for a month, Because of my knowledge of Russian and Hebrew, I studied Russian in college, and I studied Hebrew all of my life.
And it was to smuggle religious items into Soviet Jews, and to smuggle names of Soviet Jews who wanted to leave, then bring those names to Israel.
It's a complex matter how you could get out of the Soviet Union.
And I won't bother describing it, but that was why I went.
It was somewhat dangerous.
I'm not a hero.
I'm just explaining that it would not be something the Soviets would have looked with approval upon.
And I then went back.
I was at the Russian Institute at Columbia University, where I did my graduate work in communist affairs.
There were seven of us in all of Columbia who majored in communism.
Seven.
I'll never forget that.
And Seb, I gotta tell you, you know, I never say, oh God did this, God did that.
I don't know if we can know exactly what God does in anyone's life, but either God or fate had me study communism.
And I never thought in my wildest dreams that it would be applicable to my understanding of what's happening in the West and in America.
This is such a sobering point, Dennis.
So as the child of those who escaped communism, for me, and of course, I was obsessed with it.
World War II, what happened afterwards.
But the image of tanks on high streets, the bombardment of civilian buildings, I thought was history and we wouldn't see it again.
Dennis, please tell us, can you explain to me why so many quote-unquote commentators are surprised that a former KGB colonel is ruthless?
Precisely for the reason you said.
Part of the, excuse me, part of the Crisis of liberal and leftist.
They're not the same.
Liberal and leftist thinking is naivete.
They really believe that human nature is basically good.
We are on this inevitable march to a good world.
There is no such thing as an inevitable march to anything.
If anything is inevitable, I'm sorry to say, it's evil.
And so it shouldn't surprise people.
And I gotta tell you another thing.
I've been saying this on my show.
I don't advocate that we send in troops.
I understand that.
But I gotta tell you that this is the first time in my life as an American, I am watching in lifetime people slaughtered, and no one is hoping that American troops will rescue them.
This is a painful moment, even if you acknowledge that Maybe that's the right course.
But if it doesn't pain people to watch this happen on live television, and we do nothing?
My argument is a very simple one.
If 1776 means anything to Americans, and if we are made in the image of our Creator, Well, so are the Ukrainians, and we should support them, not by intervention, but we should help them fight for their own liberty.
He's the founder of Prager University, PragerU.com, Dennis Prager, my co-host, not co-host, my colleague in the Salem faculty.

I may be a Catholic, but he is definitely my rabbi.
We are back with Dennis Prager, the founder of Prager University, PragerU.com.
Dennis, you've got a brand new book out that fits into your amazing series.
I think you've had five volumes of the Rational Bible.
It is the Rational Passover Haggadah.
It raises key questions, two of which couldn't be more pertinent To the images, the tragic images we are seeing come out of Ukraine.
Let's start with the first one about human worth.
How important is God, our sense of the Supreme Being, to our understanding of human worth as we see the pictures of these refugees?
I have been speaking publicly since I was 21, as we described earlier because of my trip to the Soviet Union.
And in my mid-20s, I began asking kids at schools, high schools and colleges, would you save your dog or a stranger first if both were drowning?
I've asked this question all of my life.
I continue to ask it.
And the exact same results for 40 years.
One-third vote for their dog.
One-third for the stranger.
One-third don't know what they would do.
Wow.
Two-thirds of American kids for 40 years, so now they're in their last third of life, would not save a human that they didn't know before their dog because they love their dog and they don't love the stranger.
This is a direct result of secular life that you are animated by emotion, not by a standard.
I have dogs I love.
I would love them more than the stranger drowning, but there's no question I would save a human being first.
There's no question.
Because I know that the human is created in God's image.
And with all the love I have for the animal, it is still an animal.
It is not a human.
So I'm giving you a generic answer to your very powerful question.
And look, communism, which has slaughtered more people than anything in history, Communism was an atheist doctrine.
There are many fine atheists, I have no doubt about that.
There are also bad religious people.
But doctrines matter.
And when you have nothing holy, and it is all power and emotion, you will get the gulag archipelago, and you will get the starvation of the Ukrainians.
I mean, I just want people to understand The Soviets, good Freudian slip.
The Russians going into Ukraine now and slaughtering people, it would be like Germany invading Israel.
The memories that Ukrainians have of Russians, is of deliberate mass starvation of five to six million of them in 1932 to 33.
It took one to two years to starve that many people deliberately under Stalin.
And by the way, that was denied that it was even happening in the New York Times.
So I want people to have some context.
So yes, the God issue is rather fundamental In a sad sense, my book couldn't be coming out at a better time.
Passover is the oldest holiday on earth.
It has been observed for 3,000 years.
It is probably what Jesus celebrated as his last supper.
He certainly, clearly from the New Testament, celebrated Passover.
If people want to understand God, freedom, ritual, and everything to do with the oldest holiday in the world, that's why I wrote the book.
It's for people of every faith and of no faith.
And it's published by my publisher, Regnery.
I love this description.
It's actually what I highlighted here in front of me.
It is, the Passover is the oldest ongoing practiced holiday in history.
It's called the Rational Passover Haggadah.
More relevant than anything right now.
It's one of the questions you deal with.
Can you talk to us about the book?
The holiday of the Passover and how it fits into the eternal, forever challenge of reconciling a good God with human suffering, the kind of suffering we are witnessing right now on our TV screens.
Well, the reason I call all my books about the Bible and now this Haggadah about the rational I want to use reason to bring people to take faith seriously.
I don't use fate to bring people to faith.
I use reason.
And I therefore acknowledge real questions.
In the book, I have a fore-discussion after every Hebrew segment.
I have a big discussion.
It's called fore-discussion.
So I have a real question there.
And that is, if God took the Jews out of Egypt, why didn't he take them out of Europe?
And for that matter, if he took the Jews out of Egypt, why didn't he take the Russians out of the Gulag?
I mean, it's endless.
So I deal with that question there.
And the immediate answer, because it's obviously a very long discussion, the immediate answer is, if God stopped all evil, we would be robots.
There would be no free will, correct?
By definition.
By definition.
And by the way, what would he not stop?
If he's going to stop mass murder, he must stop individual murder.
If he stops individual murder, he must stop rapes.
If he stops rapes, he must stop muggings.
So there would be no ability to do anything hurtful to another person.
Would he allow us to humiliate other people?
Insult other people?
Where would it end?
Life would not be worth living if we were robots.
So it is painful, all the evil, but it is not a statement of, therefore God doesn't exist because He doesn't stop it.
Yes, He intervened in this for many people.
This was the one major national intervention.
There have been individual interventions, there's no question.
But on a national level, this was it.
The exodus.
And it's significant to Christians.
That's why so many Christians are so involved with Israel, because the same Bible that says the Jews will return to their homeland, the most audacious prediction in history, 2,000 years later it takes place?
Yeah.
That's a pretty big faith affirmer.
So this book is—one more thing, Seb, while we have the time.
We have 60 seconds, Dennis.
Good.
All right, one more thing.
I make the case in this for ritual.
And without ritual, a religion cannot survive and a nation cannot survive.
July 4th has become hot dogs and beer.
America cannot survive if July 4th means nothing.
Christianity cannot survive without ritual.
Judaism cannot survive without ritual.
That's why this Passover Seder ritual book is so important.
Dennis, we've only scratched the surface.
Will you come back for a longer discussion?
I would love it.
You know how I feel about you.
All right.
God bless.

Yep.
Okay.
Thank you.
America First, what's your name?
Uh, titles?
For Dennis.
Yeah, and the pre-record.
Of course.
I can't think of a better one than, of course, Putin's killing civilians.
Is there something better than that?
Maybe something that ties it to the Soviet Union.
How, like, little has changed.
Why are so many people surprised?
Ukraine, colon.
Yeah.
Why are so many people surprised, question mark?
Huh?
Then...
Wobble.
Yeah.
A warrior's message for the Ukrainians.
A warrior's message for the Ukrainians.
Can you play me the first two cuts?
First two cuts.
Or first three.
First three in rapid succession.
Well, I love three.
The fact is the $22 billion for COVID is absolutely necessary.
In fact, we probably will need more as we need more Therapies.
One of the pieces of this is to buy the pills that will be... You get a sign, you take the pill, it's no longer about something being a sub-freezing temperature, only having a shelf life of a certain amount of days.
This is science.
This is going forward.
That is amazing!
Can you get Cassius Post that?
Nancy is off her meds.
I got checked.
I think she's older than Biden by the way.
It's her birthday this week.
She's 81.
And she didn't wear a mask because she doesn't have a pre-existing condition, she said.
Let me just say this.
I agree with what Senator Lindsey Graham said.
Shut up.
That's what he said to them.
They should just shut up.
Thank you all.
And three Clinton Putin's eyes, which is what's his endgame here?
Well, I think a Trump victory in 2024 would be a pretty good endgame for Putin.
That's that would result most probably in, if not a collapse, then certainly the dramatic weakening of NATO, which is his long term goal.
That's why he's invading Ukraine, so Trump can win.
Portions of America First are brought to you by Food for the Poor.
All right, that was too short.
We're going to get Dennis back.
He's going to open the first hour of my show with me because so much is discussed at the age of 21 behind the Soviet Union as a Russian speaker behind the Iron Curtain.

I got so much to say, so many amazing cuts, but your calls, you are the most important part of the day.
Let's start with, I think he's called in before, Mike, allegedly from Cleveland.
Yes, I just wondered if you had labelled President Trumpsy now, when he said that George Washington and the Connell Army recaptured airports from the British during the American Revolution.
I'm going to do what liberals do.
What's this guy's name, Mike?
He never said that!
How do you like that?
Yes, he did.
But that's what liberals do.
They just say it didn't happen.
And by the way, you're talking about a man who stops for impromptu press sprays for 40 minutes as he's walking to Marine One.
Biden couldn't do that for 40 seconds.
He's such a doddering old git.
I mean, are you seriously telling me the man who can give impromptu, non-teleprompter speeches for an hour and a half is the senile one and the guy who confuses his sister for his wife, that's the person who's compus mentis?
I mean, Mike, come on!
You mean impromptu speeches like Putin gives?
Sorry?
What?
What?
Impromptu speeches like... What are you babbling about?
What are you babbling about?
What are you babbling about?
I'm talking about, you're saying Trump could give impromptu speeches.
He did it every flipping day, you cretin!
What has that got to do with Vladimir Putin?
Did you call me a crackhead?
Cretin!
You're probably a crackhead as well.
What has that got to do with Putin?
Churchill gave impromptu speeches.
What has that got to do with Putin, you imbecile?
I'm talking about rambling speeches the way Putin and Trump and Castro used to do.
You think impromptu means rambling?
You don't know English?
You don't know what words mean?
You think maybe Trump's bone spurs were hurting when he made that remark about the airport screen recapture?
Oh, bone spurs!
How old is Biden, you moron?
Hey, Moron Mike, how old's Biden?
How many tours did he have in Vietnam?
Because he's a little bit older than my old boss.
Let's talk bone spurs, shall we?
Was it Da Nang that he served in?
Was it the Tet Offensive that Biden served in?
Which one of those was it?
Which one did Trump serve in?
So it's okay to criticize the other side because he's a Republican, but your guy's a military hero, right?
The guy who goes home at the weekend and stares out of the window for three hours while it's World War III on the European continent.
That's okay because he's a Democrat, Mike?
Is that how it works?
Did Biden lie about having bone spurs like Trump did?
What the?
Did he fight in Vietnam or did he not?
So what?
That's not the point.
Ah, the so what.
What's the so what?
What's the so what there?
Explain for me.
How did your guy magically never serve in Vietnam, but because President Trump didn't, oh, that's the problem.
Can you explain that to me, moron Mike?
Yeah, had you lived in America during that time, you would know that there were lots of ways to get out of... Oh, so now you're being a racist!
Oh, you didn't live here!
You're a foreigner!
We got you, Mike!
We got your number!
You're a stinking bigot!
Go to hell and get off my radio show!
Sooner you give them enough rope to hang themselves with and they'll hang themselves.
Because deep down they're racists, they're bigots.
They don't just hate America.
They hate anybody who disagrees with them.
I don't hate him.
I hate the ideology that's turned him into a moron, into a cult member.
Oh, President Trump got deferments.
No, he didn't fight.
Oh, but Biden!
Oh, but he's a Democrat.
How dare you?
And you didn't live here.
You're a foreigner.
You stinking racist bigot.
That's the left, and you have just unveiled yourself yet again.
Go to hell.

We are a stronger nation when we allow people to participate.
And if we ever doubted that, the war that Putin is waging against Ukraine, President Zelensky said, and I'm going to paraphrase him probably poorly, he said, this isn't a war on Ukraine, this is a war on democracy in Ukraine.
When we allow democracy to be overtaken by those who want to choose who can be heard, and those choices are not based on anything other than animus or inconvenience, then that is wrong.

Is there any chance that the Taiwanese would fight like the Ukrainians?
Is there any chance that the Western world would have that confidence again to isolate, ostracize, alienate us from all the world financial, cultural, economic levers of power, and do to us what they're doing to Russia right now?
Is there any chance that Australia, Japan, South Korea, the United States would pour javelins into?

Bill, Memphis, Line 5.
Hey, Sebastian.
Good morning.
Good afternoon.
It's so good to be on your show.
I've been trying for a long time to get on and it's wonderful.
I appreciate you and Donald Trump.
That's very kind.
What's your question?
What's your comment?
I was listening to Double Standard, Mike, a few minutes ago with your show.
You mean Moronic, Mike?
Moronic, Mike.
Yeah, all the Democrats have double standards, so if it wasn't for double standards, they wouldn't have any at all.
I think I know the person who came up with that phrase.
I think it's my good friend Chris Platt, but carry on, Bill.
I borrowed it.
I wanted to point out, because you may not be aware, and Mike pointed out that you didn't live here in the 70s, and I don't know if that's true or not, and that's irrelevant.
Bill Clinton Got a deferment from military because, if I'm not mistaken, his feet.
Correct.
So I wanted to point out if Moran Mike is still listening.
Don't you get it, Bill?
Don't you get it?
If it's a Democrat, it's okay.
I do get it.
Absolutely.
That's why Hillary Clinton's still walking around and they put Donald Trump through hell for four years.
Yeah.
Bingo.
You nailed it.
Thank you, Bill.
Thank you for your kind words and your patience.
Let's give Bill one of our America First hats.
So excited.
You guys have called for it and we have created it.
Randy has, we haven't even made a buffer yet, but it's up there on our website.
We have a t-shirt to support the efforts of the Ukrainians to liberate themselves.
It's got the photograph of the president president zelinski in his battle where with the quote from him the fight is here i need ammunition not a ride that's exactly what he said to the biden administration and we are in support of that attitude because this is their 1776 look at that eric's got it up on the screen Let's support them by putting our colors on the flagpole.

Hi, Seb, this is John in California, you know, the Swiss immigrant that calls in once in a while.
Yes, welcome back.
Well, thank you.
We're in the realm of great power geopolitics with this Russian-Ukraine issue, war.
And in great power politics, you do not combine the heart with the mind.
They have to stay separate.
I understand, the heart tells You know, resist, resist, but the mind says something else.
There are no cops and there's no judiciary in great power politics.
We're facing, us as a great power, another great power that's got enough nuclear capability to turn the whole planet to glass, like we can't.
Well, not exactly.
6,000 warheads wouldn't do that, but carry on.
Well, we're close to that.
I mean, it's enough that we'd be a dead planet for the most part.
In great power politics, you have things called spheres of influence.
We have the Monroe Doctrine.
Dude, I've been teaching geo-strategy for about 20 years.
Please don't call up to give me geopolitical lessons.
Get to the point.
Okay.
The US's role in all of this should be to actively and openly and strongly seek a diplomatic solution.
The way that worked with Hitler, right?
Again, if we go into a history lesson... There is no diplomatic solution to genocidal mass murderers.
You really think Putin is interested in negotiation?
If that was the case, why didn't we do that in World War II?
Why have we taken 20 years to essentially tap the bear on the head I don't understand what tapping the bear on the head means.
Can you tell me, okay, tell me what the diplomatic solution to the genocide of World War II was?
Describe what that looked like.
Well, again, then if we're going to talk about Putin being genocidal, then let's talk about all the countries that we support.
No, no, no.
I'm not interested in immoral relativism, OK?
Don't start that with me.
Answer the stinking question, John.
In World War II, what was the diplomatic response to the genocidal Hitler regime?
Thank you.
You made your own point, John.
Thank you.
You cannot negotiate with cold stone killers.
It just doesn't work.
I am not talking about the 82nd airborne landing in Kharkiv.
I'm talking about the fact that negotiating with cold stone killers is absolutely asinine and naive.
Yes, he's got nuclear weapons.
So do we have nuclear weapons.
That is called the Mutually Assured Destruction Principle.
But until somebody comes to me and says what the diplomatic solution was to World War II, I'm not interested in la-di-da liberal fantasies.
Because you're not living in a real world.
The real world is about civilians being shelled as we are broadcasting this radio show right now.
Talk to them about diplomatic negotiations.

John Mearsheimer, right?
Oh, Mearsheimer, who hates Israel.
Yeah, but it's, yeah, Why the West Has It Fought for Ukraine.
It's got 15 million views now.
I got recommended to me as well.
Everybody's been sharing it all over the place.
Six years ago, you know nobody watched that.
Alright, can you send me that?
Yeah.
I've seen it shared and recommended a lot.
I had to read textbooks by that guy in college.
I thought the name seemed familiar.
Yeah, lovely anti-Semitic guy.
Disgusting.
Disgusting.
We know who you are, Mishima.
Okay. - Okay.
All right.
Am I being too aggressive?
No!
Thank you.
I mean, seriously, I asked a question.
It's very simple.
What is the diplomatic solution to Hitler?
And he says, well, what about the regimes we support?
Stop!
Stop!
Answer the stinking question!
Someone in the chat is saying Mearsheimer is no liberal.
He supported Bernie Sanders.
Are you kidding?
It's on his Wikipedia page.
He's a history book professor.
I had to read that guy's books in college.
I'm quite certain he is.
If he's not a liberal, then maybe, at best, he's like one of those Weinstein brothers.
But even then, that's really pushing it.
But yeah.
No.
Alright.
So do you want to do my pillow here instead?
Um, I didn't do it.
I did my pillow and I did merch, didn't I?
Yeah, let's just take calls.
All right.
Okay.
Stand by.
Standing by.
Portions of America First are brought to you in part by Stand With Israel Tour.
Let's go straight to your calls.
Call board is full.
David, North Carolina, welcome.
David!
I'm there.
Are you doing all right?
No.
Carry on.
There is no diplomatic solution to World War II, but my question is this.
When Trump got into office, he was immediately hit with that Russia, Russia, Russia.
We know that.
Yep.
And then later on, they hit him with, you know, a phone call to Ukraine.
Now we have Russia invading Ukraine.
Yep.
It seems a little fishy, like there was something more going on to all this.
What are you positing?
That Biden told Putin to invade Ukraine?
No, I don't think that would be the case.
So what are you positing, beyond saying it's fishy?
Well, don't you think it's a little fishy?
No, I don't think it's fishy, because Putin has wanted Ukraine since the Soviet Union collapsed.
And they seem to have done things to kind of push in that direction.
Who?
You're losing me.
I don't know who they are.
Well, then forget it.
If you know these kind of nebulous, I don't know who they are, then I can't comment.
But thank you.
Let's go to Mike, California.
Hello, Dr. Gorka.
Hey.
I'm wondering about the idea I have of why couldn't the United States, if we had a real president in the White House, send a package, say, of just four B-2 low-observable bombers to Ukraine to bomb this convoy of Russian tanks and artillery because each B-2 can carry 80 500-pound JDAM GPS-guided bombs.
So we could do a lot of damage to the Russians and help Ukraine tremendously, dropping, that'd be 4 times 80, that'd be 320 bombs using only one flight of four B-2 bombers with the associated EW package and, you know, the necessary other planes.
Thank you, Mike.
You're throwing in some terminology.
I don't know how much you know about of what you speak, but you can't do that unless you have air superiority.
You have to dominate the airspace.
You can't send in four planes when you have nothing else, when you don't have the support from the ground and from other air assets to make sure that they are not shot down.
It's like sending one guy in instead of a regiment.
You cannot do that.
It's got to be air superiority.
You have to dominate Ukrainian airspace.
And that would actually be a physical war between us and the Russians.
Instead, my argument is, help the Ukrainians to fight for themselves.
I'm going to continue to give you my military analysis that is based upon my contacts inside Well, I'm not going to go there, but it's very good analysis.
I have only given you half of it so far.
I'm going to share the rest of it in the second hour of the show, but you can't send a couple of planes in, or four planes over there, or three planes over here.
You have to have utter dominance, and we don't have it.
Right now, the fighting forces are the Ukrainians, and we need to help them fight for themselves.
The End Thank
you.
It caused ripples.
And one of them gets shot down and then was.
And you know what's going to happen in the next couple weeks?
It's going to be the crazy conspiracies.
Oh, my God.
The inauguration, all that stuff.
Remember that?
I mean, that one was such a something's fishy.
But the guys wanted Ukraine since 1991, since it split off.
Yeah, but you're listening to the news.
Something's happened the last couple of years.
Right.
He's on steroids.
That's what happens in a lot of media.
All right.
I need 789.
789.
Rebecca can't come in, right?
No, she's coming in.
Oh, good.
I heard you say on... Sorry, go ahead.
Okay.
I heard you say on a video you made that at one point when this started you believed that the world would intervene, that when people saw what was going on that the cavalry would come and help.
Are you, do you still believe, do you still hope that may happen?
What is his problem?
Well, you see, maybe I watched too much of Hollywood movies, but I thought that, you know, NATO and America, They are so powerful and so cool that if they see such a disgusting act, such an obvious international crime, that they will intervene immediately, react immediately.
But it looks like they do not.
And maybe I'm wrong.
Yeah.
Maybe this is Hollywood influence or something.
Maybe this is, well, at least we receive a lot of, uh, supplies and weapons and everything.
And it helps like really a lot, but, uh, it looks like, you know, this is our problem, mainly our problem.
Yeah.
Now we understand that we are face to face with Putin and his troops.
So we have just to face it.
And we are ready for this.
This jackass didn't do a thing when cops were being killed.
When businesses were being burned, he hid in his basement, and only when it became politically expedient, when he was worried about losing an election, and now when an election is coming up, all of a sudden he's backing the blue?
Because he felt it was better at the time, right?
To embrace the woke orthodoxy that put BLM above law enforcement.
That's what he did.
So I'm sorry, when I see, you know, CNN's recently purchased conservatives, you know, those principled few supporting, oh isn't this great, look at him, such a good thing.
You're an idiot.
Because this guy was nowhere to be found.
He's great.
Who are the CNN purchased conservatives?
Is that like, what's his face?
Anna Navarro?
No, no, the guy who left Fox.
Oh, uh, Goldberg.
Yeah, must be talking about Goldberg.
Probably, yeah.
God, alright, that was fabulous.
Okay, can we get Ins and Outs for level?
Uh, hang on a second.
Give me Whoopi.
This is Lauren.
Oh, Lauren Boberg.
Now, you know, don't talk about the military unless you really want to talk about the military, you know?
You can't do what they do.
That's why we revere them, because they do the stuff we can't do.
And the minute you poop on them, you poop on them like the last guy did, talking about those gold star families, talking about Mr. McCain as not being a hero.
Who the hell do you think you are, little girl?
Who do you think you are?
Crazy.
Yeah, except McCain, yeah, is alive to defend himself.
Was alive to defend himself, not like those 13 that Biden killed.
Right.
Good point.
All right.
Gains and us.
Oh, give me 10.
I got to dial them up.
Oh.
Schlapp.
Okay, Schlapp.
Yeah.
Interesting conversations going on in the rumble chat, by the way.
I bet.
Some of them are saying, oh, Ukraine's been committing atrocities in the Donbass region since 2014.
Yeah, right.
Someone's saying Zelensky imprisoned the guy who came second in his election.
Yeah, right.
Poroshenko?
Is that who you're talking about?
Wasn't he, like, a Russian?
Poroshenko.
Stuge.
And it's weird, because if he's in prison, I wonder why he's walking around the streets in a helmet, which he was yesterday.
All right, Mr. Schlapp.
You've got the audio of the president's shout-out?
Yeah, I'm here.
And we have Mr. Schlapp.
And the mics are live on our video live streams at this time, sir.
Have you been sleeping since Sunday, Matt?
Literally, I have never slept so much in the last 12 hours or 45 hours.
That was quite the event.
Quite the event.
Thanks for being here, man.
Everybody loves you.
It was superb.
I'm sorry I couldn't do what you said.
You wanted me to do something unemotional and I just... In the war in Ukraine, it's like, dude, sorry man, I can't.
It's really important what you did.
Thank you.
Do you have that audio?
Yeah, good.
Alright, come in with that.
So good.
Brad's been great.
He did.
You know why it was so good?
And I bumped into his speechwriter afterwards.
Because it was three things.
It was funny, all that stuff with Admiral Jackson, hilarious.
It was serious when it had to be on Ukraine.
And then the last 25 minutes was a flipping campaign platform.
I mean, CRT, woke military, he hit everything.
20 seconds.
Yeah.
All right, stand by.
All right.
Greetings, sir.
We need that as a liner.
Hello, Sebastian, tall and handsome.
That was from CPAC, from the little private event before President Trump addressed the thousands present.
And we're going to do a debrief with the man who made it all possible, the host of the biggest conservative convocation in the world, the American Conservative Union's Matt Schlapp.
Welcome back to America First.
Sebastian, are you asking me if I'm all rested up?
Not quite yet.
You deserve, you deserve to be like one of those bears that just disappears for a few months into a cave because I don't know how you do it because you were bouncing around, you were running it, you were giving media interviews.
Of course you had to set it up.
Tell us how big was last, was it last week?
That feels like months ago.
How big was it?
How many people attended the Orlando CPAC?
Believe it or not, Sebastian, we're still going through Some analytics on all that.
We sold every ticket that was possible to sell, so it was a complete sold-out event in the largest convention hotel in Florida, really our most important state now, so it was great.
Look, I can't rest like a bear because we have CPAC Texas, the other big, great mega state, mega red state, August 4 through 7, so you're going to have to join us in Dallas.
Believe it or not, we've already started going through our mistakes.
And our planning, and we're launching all that, and of course, CPAC Mexico.
CPAC Hungary, CPAC Mexico, all of those guys came up to me and said, you've got to come to our CPAC as well.
And you know, that hotel, Jeff, how many steps did we get in?
I mean, that was like tens of thousands a day just to get to our room.
I did 22,000 one day.
It's truly the biggest hotel I've ever been to.
Okay, let's get substantive.
I want to share this.
I've been quoting him.
He came on my show because we were broadcasting from there and I quoted Charlie Kirk for basically every interview I gave at CPAC after he came on my show and I said, are you satisfied?
What do we have to do next?
And he said, we have to up our game and I want your response to this, Matt.
Charlie said, It's no longer about policies.
We're not going to talk about CRT or the Second Amendment or Big Tech.
He said now, as a movement, we have to take back the Republic and we have to take back our civilization.
That's the challenge.
Do you concur?
Well, obviously, I wrote a book with basically that as the theme.
And our theme of CPAC was Awake Not Woke.
The whole point of Awake Not Woke is it doesn't matter what the capital gains tax rate is.
If our kids are being propagandized in schools and the state can tell us when we can go to church and when we can't go to church – We have ceded all these institutions and the fight for them.
So I really agree with much of what Charlie's saying and I think the people who are at CPAC do as well.
All right.
One perennial question I have and we're going to get you in studio for a longer chat to really dissect all of the so what after action report.
It is.
The balance of power.
So I can't tell you, I must have business cards from 50, 60 candidates who came up to me at CPAC saying, I'm running for this seat, I'm running for that seat.
You know, these are MAGA individuals.
It is so exciting to see this new breed of America First candidates.
Talk to us as somebody who understands the swap intimately.
Who's winning?
What is the power relationship, not between us and the crazy leftists, but between us and the establishment rhinos who just don't want to shake the boat, Matt?
Yeah, well, the thing is the establishment rhinos have to act like us in order to keep winning.
And then after they win, They don't sound like us.
And I think the American people are on to them.
Matter of fact, I think for the Republican Party, if they get power and they're going to get power after November, they're going to get these majorities.
The House majority will be big.
And I think we're asking them to not do what they did before, which was to have power and be overly cautious, too careful, do very little, tinker at the edges.
We want it all the way.
We want them to be just as aggressive on our side.
As AOC and Nancy Pelosi are on their side, and if they don't do it, I think their days are numbered.
Now you fight for this, you organise this event every year, you've mentioned the other ones, Mexico, Brazil, Hungary and so forth.
Will you talk about the interstitials, the space between your events?
Because it's not just coming to hear the President speak, giving a speech or hanging out and broadcasting from there.
Talk about what the millions of listeners to this show should be doing in between these events.
How really everybody has a role to play.
Yeah, first of all, it's our voices that are going to back the other side off.
There are more of us than there are of them, which is why they had to cheat so much in the election.
We have the numbers, but we are the quiet ones.
We are the shy ones, and we have to stop that right now.
They have to start to understand our numbers, and they have to start to understand how upset we are, and we have to start to get involved with the right candidates, including primarying those incumbents on the Republican side who aren't forceful or too timid.
We have to make sure that our school boards understand that we're not going to take this crap anymore.
Even for those of us who have our kids, my kids are in Catholic school, but I pay for those public schools.
I have every right to show up at those meetings and tell them to knock this off.
We have to tell these companies we have four lists of companies that are woke and funding BLM and trying to say that having voter ID is racist.
We named names and named those companies that are racist.
Those names will be on our website.
We'll be putting them out on social media.
Start to call those companies.
Write letters to those companies.
Tell them you're not going to take it anymore.
By the way, Sebastian, a lot of those companies are starting to call CPAC saying, why did you list our logo?
Well, guess what?
We're telling them why.
Good.
Absolutely superb.
That's finally pushing back on those people that are financing the radicals, the extremists who hate this nation.
I came to this conclusion, and I'm happy to get you to comment.
I was trying to work out what is it that drives these people, whether it's the Russia, Russia, Russia, you know, the Trump derangement syndrome, the Adam Schiff's of the world, the New York Times, the Google.
And I came to this kind of flash.
Yeah, this is what I keep saying is although I am a conservative I'm using that term less because you can't describe what kind of American you are if you can't get this idea about that first and foremost I'm an American which means I have the birthright to of freedom, and it means I also love our founding.
I love our history.
It's an imperfect history, but it's a beautiful history.
It's a history of overcoming our terrible birthmark and birth defect on slavery.
It is a history we need to teach our kids.
We have to stop this running down of America.
I won't do it, and I think we all have to stand up for America.
She's in duress, and those who are trying to attack us They are people who want to transform America.
They don't believe in the reason for America.
And we've got to stop them.
America simply can't embrace Marxism.
Yeah, that's a great way.
I don't know if you purloined it from somebody else.
If you didn't, you came up with the perfect phrase.
The slavery question, the history, is a birthmark.
It is not our gene code.
And the left would have us believe that it is our gene code.
Matt, before we run out of time, we're going to get you in studio for a whole hour for one of our one-on-ones.
I want to ask you one more question, but first I want to salute you.
Because of what you do.
You are indefatigable.
You, your bride, Mercy, you are such warriors.
And you have changed the face of, you know, before President Trump was even a candidate, you were working your magic at CPAC, making this a broad, broad tent for all Americans who love this country.
So I want to thank you in front of all of our listeners and viewers.
Last question, just to give a little bit of an oomph to those out there who Haven't perhaps yet stood up to the plate.
Matt, why do you do what you do?
Why do you take the slings and arrows?
You know, I think by this point, Sebastian, I think it's one of the reasons why God put me on this earth.
He put me on this earth to have five beautiful daughters, but I think he put me on this earth because something What?
about the wiring that he put inside me makes me wanna fight so hard for this country and make sure that they have a future.
And I think I'm just an ordinary guy from Kansas and I think there's millions of people like me who know this is a good place and we're gonna fight together.
And you know what, after CPAC, you know what I think for the first time in a long time? - What? - I think we're gonna save it.
I don't think America's, God is done with America yet and it makes me so happy.
What a great message.
He may be from Kansas but he sure ain't ordinary.
Give us the dates for CPAC Texas again.
August 4th through 7th.
Sebastian Gorka has just committed to being there and it's another national CPAC so it'll be a big one and we need it because we got to stay organized and stay focused.
We are winning, winning, winning in large part because of this man.
Follow him, M Schlapp, on Twitter.
That's M Schlapp.
I'm Sebastian Gorka.
This is America First coming to you live from the reliefactor.com studios.
Please, if you enjoy this show, don't forget.

We're going to be talking to Paul Kengor for the whole third hour of the show on what you need to know about Vladimir Putin.
Next up, D.I.A.
Russia expert, the person who wrote the book on Putin, with us here in studio.
Mic's back on.
That's the guys weren't here the other day.
Winning, winning, winning!
That's what I wanted to use.
Yeah, they were using the facilities during SOTU coverage.
Why?
Put a lock on the door.
Put a guard dog there, it'll solve the problem.
One of Putin's guard dogs.
Alright, title for Schlapp.
Finally, our side is winning.
Man, I'm starving.
It is Thursday.
After all, tomorrow, that will not be an issue with lunch.
All right, you'll have to wait till then.
Exactly.
No eating for the next 24 hours.
My wife's not even home.
You will be filled when we say you can be filled.
Uh-oh.
Yeah, I don't even know what I'm going to pretend tonight.
I'm being rationed.
I think Geoff went to go get the guests.
Okay.
Oh, can you play 10 and 11?
Union Pacific Railroad just announced the purchase of the largest ever purchase of electric locomotives made in Erie, Pennsylvania.
In the same plant, by the way, that the guy who turned on our lights built a factory.
You're the guy.
You turn on the lights.
I thought he invented them.
He didn't turn them on.
Did I miss something?
Is it because I wasn't living here in the 1800s?
See, back when Joe ran the railroads... I thought that was Hunter!
Jeff is right, by the way.
He really does look like a dent in his forehead.
That's right.
What?
Jeff was right yesterday.
He really does look like a dent in his forehead.
It does!
Alright, hit it.
Okay.
Well, our objective and the President's objective has been to maximize impact on President Putin and Russia while minimizing impact to us and our allies and partners.
And I know you've heard me say this a few times before, but we don't have a strategic interest in reducing the global supply of energy.
She is so thick.
OK.
And give me Kekala.
Kekala.
Kamala.
Which cut?
13.
Oh, 13.
OK.
Oh, there it is.
Is that something that the administration would continue would consider in terms of further sanctions, cutting off the oil and gas part of the economy for Russia?
Well, as you know, on this issue, for example, we applaud Germany in terms of what it has done as it relates to Nord Stream 2, as it relates to what we need to do domestically as well as what we need to do in terms of this issue generally.
We have, as the President said, re-evaluated what we're doing in terms of the strategic oil reserve here in the United States to make sure that it will not have an impact or we can mitigate the impact on the American consumer.
But let's, let's take this one step at a time, understanding that right now... You've got Rebecca's book, right?
You mean this book?
That book!
Yes.
Yes.
Alright.
I like the new hair.
I like it.
They just did it to Fox Film Master.
It looks great.
Thank you so much.
Standing by.
Bye-bye.

Standwithisraeltour.com. Standwithisraeltour.com.
She is, sadly, more relevant than ever because of the book that she debuted, I think, in our studio.
It's Putin's Playbook, Russia's Secret Plan to Defeat America.
Former DIA senior analyst Rebecca Kofler, welcome back to America First.
Thank you, Sebastian, so happy to be here.
All right, with your indulgence, we've got you for two segments, so we've got time.
I have to play a cut that I heard this morning from my friend Chris Plant on his show.
This is a Ukrainian refugee, Katrina Belash, and it is very moving, so I want to play the whole cut.
Cut 14, play cut.
When you left, what was it like leaving?
It was like pretty much giving your soul to God every second because our train stopped in the middle of Kiev and they were shooting and we heard bombs flying all over and planes and I thought this particular moment I can die and I just prayed and I said Goodbye, everyone.
And I understood that for four hours in a completely dark train, we can be dead in any second.
So that was pretty much very, very... For me, especially, it was very stressful.
I want people to know that we have been killed by the country that wanted to take over.
Take Ukraine over and they wanted to kill our people for being patriotic.
I want people to know that this is true because I saw it personally.
And I do know a person who has been shot by Russians because he didn't give up with a flag.
Because they came to his house.
He lived right by me.
They came to his house and they shoot him.
So I want people to know that the truth... Is there anything else you want to say?
Please do.
Please do cherish the clear sky.
Every time you see sky, you know what I'm saying?
Cherish every moment of your life.
Katrina Belash's message to everyone listening is when you see a clear sky, because she's a refugee, cherish that moment when you see a clear blue sky.
Rebecca Kuffler, you've written the book.
I'm going to ask the dumb question because so many people seem surprised, not people like you and me.
Why should we not be surprised that Putin has invaded Ukraine?
Why are so many people shocked, Rebecca?
I don't know why anyone should be shocked, especially our national security apparatus.
Putin did not exactly make it a secret.
Every single speech, every single press conference, every single strategic planning document, including military doctrine, national security, strategy, and on and on and on.
He made it very clear what he wanted to do, and that is to reverse the outcome of the Cold War.
And we constitute a USSR-like alliance.
And we watched this train wreck happen and did nothing about it.
And guess what?
I think Ukrainians' blood is on Joe Biden's hands.
At the beginning, I used the hashtag, hashtag Biden's war, because I believe that as well.
Explain your reasoning, Rebecca.
Of course.
So President Biden, when he was President Obama's vice president, he was getting intelligence briefing, right?
I personally briefed scores and scores of President Obama's senior Pentagon officials.
On Russia as the DIA's Russia person.
Absolutely!
I was one of the top three analysts on Russian doctrine and strategy.
I briefed NATO, I briefed National Security Council in the White House, I briefed scores of combatant commands and most importantly political appointees.
What were we told?
We were told, why are you telling us about a war with Russia?
We're not going to war with Russia.
Well, we were scratching our heads like maybe you were not planning on going, but they certainly have decided, and they conclude, they do their intelligence assessments 50 years out, and they have concluded that Meaning the Russians do, not us.
We don't do that.
No, you know this, right, Sebastian?
We don't.
And that's why we're constantly behind the curve.
We are in a reactive mode.
It's because we don't do strategic warning anymore, which is the primary mission of intelligence.
And so instead of listening to Putin, believing him, President Biden... It's this crazy idea that you should
Ignore what the other side says when he's giving lectures on how Ukraine has never been Ukraine It's always been Russia the Baltic states belong to us, and we just kind of say well He doesn't mean that it's absurd and it's the same people Sebastian who kept saying all the Russia's GDP is the size of Italy or Russia is a gas station masquerading as a country the same people somehow made
The sanction strategy, the centerpiece of the entire counter strategy with Russia, it is absurd.
These sanctions are not going to change Putin's mind.
Well, if they had, they would have done so in the last 22 years, wouldn't they, Rebecca?
Absolutely.
I mean, where's the logic?
I am stunned, and presumably these people have degrees, and this is Obama 2.0 crew, right?
It's not like it's their first time around.
Jake Sullivan, you know, Antony Blinken, all of them.
Joe Biden.
Right, right.
Exactly.
How many times do you need to be fooled to keep falling into the same trap?
Let me ask you, we're going to keep you over for another segment, but your reaction to all these completely unsubstantiated reports.
He's crazy, he's on drugs, he's on steroids and that's why he's doing this.
They are simply diverting their attention from their utter failure to understand the adversary.
Remember, when they had time to develop a counter-strategy, they were chasing the bright and shiny objects such as the fake news Russia-Trump collusion.
This is science fiction.
They diverted intelligence resources and weaponized legitimate intelligence processes that are intended for foreign adversaries.
They weaponized them.
Yeah, absolutely.
such as Carter Page, such as my former boss, DIA Director General Flynn, in order to unseat former President Trump, a democratically elected president.
And that is now we're in this terrible situation.
This is why Ukrainians' blood is on Joe Biden's hands.
Yeah, absolutely.
And just one more thing.
That is the best explanation I've heard for this idiocy.
This, oh, he's roided out, he's on drugs.
You say that when you've failed in your job.
Your primary job is to predict World War III, and when you didn't predict it, you've got to come up with an excuse.
Oh, well, we didn't know because he was taking steroids at home.
It is a lie.
It is propaganda.
This is the man's plan since Christmas Day 1991.
It's RebeccaKoffler.com.
That's Rebecca, K-A-H, RebeccaKoffler.com.
The book you need to educate yourself right now is Putin's Playbook.
I'm Sebastian Gorka.
This is American First on the Salem Radio Network.
Back with you after these messages.
We evaluated nuclear miscelliers, our nuclear, before they went on duty to guard the nuke.
He said there are absolutely no mental anomalies in Putin.
He's just the typical...
Oh, good.
Mic's on?
Yes, I can talk about that if you want.
Yes.
Or anything else?
Good.
Let me see.
Oh, I want to play your cut from some financial times that you have to respond to.
That's the first thing we'll do.
And then... Oh, tell Stuart and Bob we'll get them after the break.
After the next segment.
They heard you, but I'll tell them.
Want to keep the mics on?
Yeah, keep the mics on.
Okay, mics are live.
Three minutes.
Hey Stuart, you there?
Alright, he's going to come to you after the next segment, alright?
So, Dennis says he'll come on for an hour.
Alright, talk to his wife.
Great.
So you must be busy?
Yeah, but it's good.
When my book came out, nobody was interested.
People said I was crazy, right?
That's their favorite thing is, oh, this person's crazy just because it doesn't fit into their mental framework.
And now... Now we need more Rebecca's.
No, we don't.
We just need to pay attention and believe the answer.
We need Trump.
We do.
That's going to be my next question.
He actually did three things that struck at the heart of his, you know, yeah, he never called him a killer, but what's the purpose?
He doesn't afraid of words.
He's not afraid of words, you know.
He doesn't want to kick a hornet's nest, but when he did, you know, when it comes to oil.
Yeah.
Sorry.
We were net exporters of energy.
That's the only thing that hurts Putin.
And now we're dependent on them.
It's only half a billion barrels a day.
Right.
That thing he released, the oil reserves, in his speech... For two days, right?
A day and a half.
A day and a half, even?
A day and a half of our oil usage.
Yeah.
Nice job.
Nice job, Biden.
Oh my God.
How much of that do we have?
Because he keeps doing it.
We have a lot.
But he keeps doing it.
He did it... He is so... Pathetic.
Pathetic and not smart.
Just not smart at all.
How's your husband?
Everything good?
Great.
Working, you know.
Managing your life?
Your media stardom?
No, he's doing his own.
I mean, he's... Alright, what do you want to say?
Slaving for Fox.
I didn't say much.
Yeah, say it.
Go.
60 seconds.
man the rumble chat oh go ahead yeah the rumble chat go rumble chat is just all in on the talking point you already debunked with soros saying oh soros supports ukraine so something fishy must be going on there so if soros likes big macs okay And doesn't like Burger King.
Does it mean McDonald's is part of some evil one-world order?
I'm just asking, guys.
Seriously.
And why would you take Soros' truth?
Right!
Why would you believe what he's saying?
Guys, come on.
Apply.
Gotta watch out for the Hamburglar.
The Hamburglar.
Hate that guy.
Alright.
Alright, so I'm gonna tee up three.
Bruce and Relief here, you're teeing up three?
Got it.
Oh, and I'm going to mention the Zelensky t-shirt.
Okay, yep.
All right, 20 seconds.
Bye-bye.

We are back with former senior DIA, I'll just say, I'll say Mrs. Russia.
She is the expert at the DIA for Russia.
Her book is Putin's Playbook.
Russia's secret plan to defeat America.
Rebecca Koffler.
Go to RebeccaKoffler.com.
But first I have to get your reaction to this take.
This blows my mind.
This is the Financial Times America bureau chief.
He is the guy for America for allegedly a former newspaper.
He's called Edward Luce and this is what he has to say about the crisis in Europe.
Cut three.
Clinton Putin's eyes, which is what's his endgame here?
Well, I think a Trump victory in 2024 would be a pretty good endgame for Putin.
That's that would result most probably in, if not a collapse, then certainly the dramatic weakening of NATO, which is his long term goal.
So you are the person who briefed presidents, vice presidents, cabinet members, combatant command commanders on Russia.
That was your job.
Please respond to this cretin Edward Luce from the Financial Times saying Putin's endgame is to get Donald Trump in the White House again.
Why is that moronic?
This is absolutely outrageous.
This is a Soviet-style propaganda and it's utter ignorance and incompetence.
Putin's endgame is to reconstitute a supranational alliance similar to the former USSR, where countries like Ukraine, Belarus, the Stans, Moldova will go back under Moscow's control.
And so this sort of terrible mentality is what diverted us onto a wrong course in the first place, is when people like that, the corrupt intelligence officials like James Clapper, the Director of National Intelligence under President Obama, James Comey, FBI Director, and John Brennan, CIA Director, they were digging dirt on Trump, trying to link him to Russia.
The Russians feared You're using Russian propaganda from the Brookings Institution.
So tell us why having Trump back in the White House isn't exactly a good thing for the Putin regime.
Well, first of all, like I said, they fear Trump.
Trump is unpredictable and Trump is a force of nature.
It is true that he never called, you know, Putin a killer and never used any names.
But what's the point?
Putin is not afraid of names.
He's not afraid of words.
He's afraid of action.
And here's what Trump did.
Trump stood up the Space Force.
Well, and what about not just authorizing the development of these weapons?
foreign adversaries such as the Russians, and Trump authorized the development of low-yield nuclear warhead, which mitigates Russia's nuclear doctrine of using tactical nukes in order to de-escalate conflict.
And these three things alone.
And there are many more.
Well, and what about not just authorizing the development of these weapons?
We actually targeted and killed Russians in Syria.
Absolutely.
I was going to say that.
Hundreds!
You know more, even at that level, because you served in the administration, what he did.
But these three things that I mentioned strike at the heart of Putin's asymmetric strategy.
And also the last one, which can't be missed, it's not part of the DoD, but our energy policy.
When America becomes for the first time ever a net exporter of energy, what does that do to Russia?
Absolutely.
It cuts off to the knees Putin's war machine because his war machine is financed by his energy sector.
And the fact that we can't get Europeans Get off the needle of Russian, you know, energy.
This is why they can't act in unison, right?
NATO is divided and Putin knows that because he's using energy as a geopolitical weapon and Trump tried to get them off of that addiction and of course they didn't listen.
So here we are today.
But he'll be back, and I can think, you know, I'm working on, you know, personnel recommendations for the second Trump administration.
I think I know who we should put in charge of Eurasia affairs at the National Security Council.
I think I've got her number.
Anyway, in the meantime, the Twitter account is Rebecca0132.

Line one, Stewart, who's been waiting very, very patiently.
Welcome to America First.
Hey, Dr. Gorka.
First of all, I want to tell you that your CPAC speech was very moving.
Thank you kindly.
I was told by Matt, I was asked, you know, my host, what do you want to hear?
And he said, like three days before the speech, people have had enough of big emotional speeches by the last day.
Just give them some ideas about going forward.
And, you know, once the war broke out, I apologize to Matt today.
I couldn't do it.
I got up there and something took over.
And if you haven't seen it, we're going to post it again.
Just seven minutes of your time.
It's what my address to the CPAC audience.
But thank you so much, Stuart.
Thank you.
It was very passionate for sure.
All these people talking about negotiations and dealing with Russia reminded me of the movie The Darkest Hour when Churchill said to the people in the room there, you cannot reason with a tiger once your head is inside its mouth.
Bingo.
That's exactly what's going on.
Bingo.
Exactly right.
Why would he?
Why would somebody who's trying to reconstitute the Soviet Union be interested in negotiations?
He has to feel The wrath of the Ukrainian people, those Russian occupation forces must, must, must bleed and we must help them fight for themselves.
Thank you for your kind words.
Stay on the line, Stuart.
Let's give Stuart one of our America First hats.
Check out the latest gear at America First.
We've got our brand new... People are already ordering it.

And he said, I don't need a ride.
I need ammunition.
Get that t-shirt.
Send a message to Biden.
SebGorkaStore.com.
That's S-E-B-G-O-R-K-A.
SebGorkaStore.com.
Let's go down the line to Roger, Wisconsin.
Yeah.
Hey, Seb.
Yeah.
Hey.
Hold on.
Hold on.
All right, I'm not going to bloviate.
If I was president, and you wanted to create a no-fly zone so we could help Ukraine, what would you recommend to me?
I wouldn't recommend a no-fly zone.
My recommendations are very clear.
I've already written the article for Conservative Brief yesterday and I've got a new one coming out tomorrow at American Greatness.
There's four things we need to do.
We need to unleash the US energy sector.
We need to get him on his knees.
Nobody in the world should be buying Russian oil except the Belarusians.
That's it.
Number two, well, Biden's not going to do that, but that's what we should be doing.
Number two, we should be relocating all the troops that we have in irrelevant places like Germany.
Germany is the biggest economy in Europe.
What the hell are our troops doing in Germany?
They should be able to look after themselves and move a lot of US troops to frontline NATO nations like the Baltic States, like Poland, like Hungary, that literally border the Ukraine to send a very clear message, NATO will stand up to you.
And then the last two things that hopefully are happening right now, But what can happen instantly is to provide huge and I mean massive amounts of lethal aid to Kiev.
If we can leave 80 billion dollars worth of weaponry for the Taliban then we should be able to arm Ukraine and then lastly actionable intelligence.
We have satellite capabilities, signals intelligence, EW capabilities nobody else has.
Provide Kiev with the means to bleed as many Russians as possible.
That's what we should be doing right now.
We don't have the intent to do a no-fly zone.
That would have to create air superiority over Ukraine.
That is not feasible right now.
But great question.
Thank you, Roger.
Let's go to Antoinette is back.
Welcome Antoinette.
Hello, Dr. G. You weren't tough enough on the moronic cretin with his face last hour.
Oh, my God.
I thought I was pretty tough, though.
There are limitations when it comes to the Federal Communications Commission, so of things I can and cannot say on live radio.
Yes, I understand.
Listen, the moronicness goes and continues.
In the state of California, they've just passed some ridiculous legislation.
Forget about the abortion clinics.
They've got legislation on protecting, and I love dogs, I love cats, but this is a new democratic piece of legislation that is totally ridiculous.
Tell us.
The Bill of Rights for dogs and cats.
Hang on, hang on, hang on.
Did I hear that right?
The Bill of Rights?
Yes.
Does it include the Second Amendment?
Do they have the right to carry weapons?
At this point, the Assemblyperson, the Democrat in Los Angeles, who the hell knows what the heck he was thinking of.
But now, the obstacles that we've been having to deal with the last couple weeks, Planned Parenthood in Santa Ana.
that we go there from 9 to 11, for the second time, start digging up the ground, the road in front of there.
So we can't be there in the front.
All right, so it's Thursday.
We're out of time.
What are you going to be doing this weekend, Antoinette?
Sunday, 10 to noon, Tustin, Orange, Planned Parenthood, be there or be square and pray for the Ukrainians.
Thank you so much.
God bless you.
Yeah, there's a Bill of Rights for dogs but killing unborn humans is okay in California, not with Antoinette and her buddies.
God bless all of you and yes, pray for the Ukrainian people and for the unborn.
We stand up for the innocents and we support you in your fight.
I'm Sebastian Gawker.
This is America First coming to you live from the ReliefFactor.com studios.
The Relief Factor.
Pain relief that works.
Pain relief that's real.
Pain relief that is liberating tens of thousands of Americans from their daily pain.
Me included!
But it's not just me.
It's people like Yvonne from California.
This is Yvonne's story.
Both my husband and I are in our 70s and are so grateful to have found Relief Factor.
We tried so many other solutions but none of them have given us the freedom of being pain free like Relief Factor.
Pain free!
Come on guys!
Isn't it worth $19.95 to find out?
Of course it is.
Do what I did.
Order your three-week quick starter pack at reliefactor.com.
It'll be at your door in three days or less.
Take it morning and evening like I do.
And I promise you, Dr. G's guarantee, by the end of those three weeks, you will know.
Whether it works for you, like it works for me, Yvonne, and thousands of your fellow Americans.
And Luce, incredibly, this Russia propagandist works for At Financial Times.
And then, um, the TikTok thing.
You gotta post the TikTok thing.
Anything else?
Anything else?
Bar's going on NBC Nightly News tonight to say he told Trump everything was bullshit about the election.
Which is weird because we played the cut here where he said before the election, this is playing with fire.
And then he said Trump slammed his hand down on the desk and said, leave, don't, don't go back to your office.
And that was the day he resigned.
Can you get cut 10?
Can you give it to Casio?
Biden doesn't know who Thomas Edison is.
Oh, he's the guy... The thing!
No, the thing!
Come on, man!
Come on, man!
No, Biden says that a black guy invented the lightbulb, not Thomas Edison.
Coming with the countdown.
Alright.
Countdown.
25 seconds.
Counting down.
Twenty seconds.
Twenty-five seconds.
Stand by.
Twenty seconds.
Twenty seconds.
This is America First's countdown to the 2022 midterm elections.
2-5-0.
250 days to go.
Quite a round number.
Are you engaged?
Have you volunteered?
We need to take back America one school district at a time.
We need to have fire in the belly like Greg Gutfeld.
Did you see his response to that senile old moron State of the Union when he said fund the police?
It was epic, Greg.
Cut it.
This jackass didn't do a thing when cops were being killed, when businesses were being burned.
He hid in his basement and only when it became politically expedient, when he was worried about losing an election, and now when an election is coming up, all of a sudden he's backing the blue.
Because he felt it was better at the time, right, to embrace the woke orthodoxy that put BLM above law enforcement.
That's what he did.
So I'm sorry, when I see, you know, CNN's recently purchased conservatives, you know, those principled few supporting, oh, isn't this great?
Look at him.
Such a good thing.
You're an idiot.
Because this guy was nowhere to be found.
I call the Sleepy Creepy Joe an idiot and a jackass.
Hey, Mr. G, how many people do we think on Fox have called the president a jackass?
Not enough.
Boom, boom, best.
If that were a tweet, that would be tweet of the day.
Nicely put.
Bob, line four, Minneapolis.
Hi, President Reagan called Russia the evil empire back in 1983.
Democrats mocked him for using that term, but with Putin's unprovoked war against Ukraine, including the killing of Ukrainian children, he's now showing the whole world how true President Reagan's statement was back then, and it's still true today.
Putin is an evil leader of an evil communist power, inflicting much suffering on innocent women and children.
What do you think?
Beautifully put.
Beautifully put, Bob.
Absolutely superb.
You're absolutely right.
Stay on the line.
Let's give Bob one of our America First hats.
Yeah, he was right back then and it's still an evil empire with just a different czar.
Ronald Reagan was right.
We need to get that video footage.
Let's play it tomorrow because Ronald Reagan needs to be recognized.
If you enjoy this show, please support those who make it possible.
Mike Lindell is a great patriot.
They're trying to cancel him now.
Go to mypillow.com, use my name, and Mike will give you up to 66% off.
The left hates him because he's a conservative.
Laurie from PA!
Man, I wish I had time to cover this.
We've got Paul Kenger up next.
I'm going to save this for tomorrow.
When you say, Dr. G, that a no-fly zone is unfeasible, the language intimates... I love the way she uses language.
She's a lawyer.
That the West lacks the military ability to execute.
Is that your belief?
That's a longer question than I have 20 seconds to answer with right now.
But I swear to you, we will answer it if not in the next hour tomorrow.
Love our listeners.
Love you, Laurie.
You are the best.
This is America First.
Next up, we've got Paul Kengor, a man who knows about the Kremlin.
Stay with us here on America First and subscribe to the podcast wherever you get your podcasts.
The End
The End
wherewithal to remove me, We're going to go deep dive on the situation in Ukraine, what you need to know about that KGB colonel in the Kremlin.
Do you remember that phrase?
During the Cold War, somebody said, he may be a dog, but he's our dog.
Well, somebody has revivified that phrase with his latest article, Mad Dog Putin, and we are delighted to have him with us.
He is the director of the Institute for Faith and Freedom, Professor Paul Kengor.
Hey Seb, how you doing?
Good, good.
Superb, superb.
I didn't think I'd be seeing articles using these phrases so redolent of the Cold War, but of course we can trust on you.
We'll talk about that story in a moment that one of your pupils shared with you, which Gives you an insight into who this man is, but I have to say, let me prepare you, prepare the ground for you by sharing with you my analysis from yesterday's show, from Wednesday's show, where I said
It is stunning how so many people who've never studied Russia have no idea what the KGB is, are so willing to say, he's crazy!
He's mad!
And why did he do this?
I guess they've been asleep for the last 30, 40, 50 years, Paul.
Yeah, I think that's exactly right.
And in fact, I know we're going to talk about another article, but I did a piece for American Spectator last week, Seb, called Putin Plays the Nazi Card.
And that was in response to me right away getting emails from people when he first invaded the Ukraine saying, "Look at this.
Putin's going in there because he's claiming he's going in there in order to denazify the Ukraine, a denazification of the Ukraine." What in the world is he talking about, right?
I mean, if there's any sort of like Hitlerian analogy here, it's somebody like Putin doing what Hitler did, conjuring up, you know, Hitler invaded Well, Hitler went after Czechoslovakia and Poland by saying that the native ethnic Germans were being persecuted in the Sudetenland, right?
In these different territories.
And Putin did the same thing.
He said that the Ukrainians were guilty of genocide against ethnic Russians and so forth.
So what's his idea?
Putin saying he's going in there in order to denazify the Ukraine?
Well, this goes back to our lack of sense of history.
And as the guest we had on the show the day before yesterday, Konstantin Kissin, who's a Russian Jew who lived in the Ukraine, who has family members in Ukraine, said on our show, If there were genocide of Russians in Ukraine, I think my family would know about it.
But this is, this goes back to World War II.
This is defending the Rodina, the motherland from Nazis.
And this is, this is an easy trick.
If you say, if you say, you're fighting Nazis, like, you know, the Democrats do with Antifa, then the Russian population say, well, that's okay.
You can shell that building because you're fighting Nazis.
This is just a historic trope, is it not, Paul?
It is.
Yeah, they've used this since the end of World War II.
And I went through in that article how it started with, well, I have to start it with this guy, but there was a June 3, 1945, Radio Moscow broadcast where they called Pope Pius XII, Hitler's Pope.
And anybody who had lived through that era would have said, Pius XII, Hitler's Pope!
I mean, this guy was a great ally of Jews.
This guy saved Jews.
What are you talking about?
But the KGB, the Kremlin, they did that for every bishop, priest, cardinal behind the Iron Curtain.
Right, Stepanich in Yugoslavia, in Poland, Minzenty in Hungary, Croatia, the Ukraine, I mean over and over and over again.
And it didn't matter if it was true or not, they just flung it out there.
They just said it.
And if you look at somebody like Pius XII, it's managed to stick.
I mean, that poor guy who probably ought to be canonized, right?
I mean, that's going to stick with him for probably the next 100 years.
So in the case of Putin, he just dusted off quite literally the old 1970s, 1980s, 80s KGB desinformatia, disinformation playbook, and trotted out the old Nazi trope.
And people said, what?
Come on, come on.
But they've been doing this for a century.
This is what they do.
These are the big lies that they peddle.
We're talking to Paul Kengel, professor of political science, director of the Institute for Faith and Freedom at Grove City College and author most recently of The Devil and Karl Marx, a book, a shocking book that you need to read.
Paul, let's talk about, let's jump.
We're going to talk about what it means to be a KGB colonel in the 1990s, 1980s.
But let's jump in and talk about your latest piece of the American Spectator, Mad Dog Putin!
Tell us the story of your former pupil who was hanging out in the Kremlin when a certain diminutive guy who I think compensates a lot because I don't think you have photographs taken of yourself bare-chested on a horse if you're not compensating.
Correct, Paul?
Well, that's correct.
And I will withhold his name, my former student's name, but he told me about this.
It was in 2014.
He now has a very high level security clearance.
And he was literally meeting there at the Kremlin with three or four Americans, six or seven Russians.
And his jaw almost hit the floor when Vladimir Putin walked in.
And Putin said in Russian, he said, come with me.
I want to show you something.
And my student didn't need to wait for the translation.
He just said to his friends, he said, we need to come with him.
So, so they went down several flights of stairs, literally in the basement of the building.
And he told me, he said, I saw 10 of the most ferocious hounds.
Like something out of, you know, the hounds of the Baskervilles, you know, these demoniac huge animals, correct?
That's exactly right.
Foaming at the mouth, you know, jumping up and down, you know, howling in these cages.
And he looked at them, these frightening dogs, and he turned to them and he said, you know, tell your president, right?
This is what a real dog looks like.
And he's referring, of course, to Obama, who had a less-than-masculine canine buddy, right?
Right.
A dog named Bo, I think, which is, you know, this cute little thing, right?
I mean, the last dog I had was a little miniature dachshund named Lulu, right?
Right, Seb?
But you're not the president of a country with 11 time zones.
I'm not sure you would have a dog called Lulu if you were in control of 6,000 nuclear warheads.
Well, that's right.
And he had these dogs and he wanted his American interlocutors here to go back home and tell the White House, right, you know, the president of Russia has a real dog, right?
This is a man's man, right?
This is a manly man with real dogs.
But that tells you a lot about Putin.
And I thought about it not that long ago when word hit about Putin pulling this kind of dog stunt on Angela Merkel, the Chancellor of Germany.
Who hates dogs and is afraid of dogs, by the way.
That's right.
Like a deathly fear of dogs.
I think she's been bit by them.
And at least once or twice, Putin, and this has been reported in Foreign Affairs and other publications, Putin brought a dog in the room and put it like right next to her, like right at her, you know, bare knees.
Just just to intimidate her.
So, you know, this is the kind of stuff that he does.
And I quote in my article, our old friend, Herb Meyer, God rest his soul, he was right hand man to Bill Casey, along with Gates back in the 1980s.
And I told him the story.
And he said, Oh, yeah, you know, I've, he said, I thought for a long time that Putin might be crazy.
And he said, you know, we had psychiatrists at the CIA in my day, and we used to make fun of them.
He said, but they had an important role between telling you whether or not somebody was a bastard or a crazy bastard, right?
And he said, in Putin's case, I fear it might be the latter.
And I think we're seeing now with his behavior in the Ukraine that that is indeed the case.
We're going to analyze whether or not it's true to form or whether it's just a classic modus operandi.
I'm Sebastian Gorka.
This is America First, a one-on-one with Paul Kengor, the author of The Devil and Karl Marx.
Right now, very hard for us as private citizens.
to assist those suffering in Ukraine.
However, there are tens of thousands, hundreds of thousands of children in our hemisphere, very, very close to our border, who will go to bed hungry today.
Don't be confused.
It's not just about Ukraine.
These are children who do not know whether they will have a meal for breakfast, Their parents do not know whether they will get a food for them for lunch.
Please support our food for the poor program.
Every year you make a difference.
You literally save lives.
A one-time donation of just $88 feeds one of these poor children for a whole year.
We have the food, we just have to get it to them.
And that same donation provides them with clean drinking water for a year.
This is one of the most blessed things you can do for your fellow man and for the children who are suffering right now.
It is water for life.
It is food for a year.

Paul, I don't want to be smart-ass-y about it, because I guess I've got an excuse.
I was an interrogator in the British Military Territorial Army.
My area of operations or the area I was focusing on was the then Soviet Union.
I was meant to interrogate Soviet officers if we captured any when World War III began.
My parents escaped Soviet-occupied Hungary in 1956.
So, you know, the events aren't alien to me or the actors aren't alien.
But aren't you shocked by the paucity of the quote-unquote elite's understanding of how Russian autocrats and KGB officers think the idea that, oh, he's going to crumble any moment.
And he's bitten off more than he can chew.
And he's doing things that are so unpredictable.
This is a KGB colonel.
And as somebody pointed out in our show, the KGB generals didn't pull out your toenails and fingernails.
It was the colonels.
It was the majors.
This is a brutal, brutal individual.
And the idea that we're surprised at his brutality, it's a little bit like Francis Fukuyama declaring in 1991 that it's the end of history, Paul!
Yeah, so all this talk about, all this twaddle about they're running out of gas, the Russians and so forth, it's all over in a week.
Well, Vladimir Putin's got a longer attention span than Twitter characters, all right?
They've got a lot more patience than this, right?
I mean, they've run out of gas in combat for a hundred years, right?
They always have these problems.
In World War II, how many people were lost in World War II, Seb?
50 to 60 million?
Over half of them were Soviet soldiers!
Over half of them!
I mean, you've got to take American and UK casualties killed in action in World War II, combine them and multiply them by like 40!
To get to the number of Soviets that were killed.
And I'm so glad you said this.
I mean, putting into the context of 60 million killed and the greatest loss of life being the Red Army in World War II.
And when I hear this, oh, and I actually heard somebody say this on radio today.
Not a listener, not a caller.
One of these talking heads.
Well, yeah, and if things aren't going well for Putin, and when the military commanders see that, they're going to be really shocked, and they're going to take him out.
I mean, you're on drugs!
You have no idea how the Soviet, now Russian, army operates.
The idea that this is Sweden, and, you know, the commander commits a war crime, and then the generals remove him.
Paul, how stupid and how lacking in history are these commentators?
Yeah, they always get their butts kicked in battle.
They're almost as bad as the French, right?
After the Hitler-Stalin pact in 1939, there eventually came Operation Barbarossa, June 22, 1941, with the Nazis.
They drove all the way deep into Soviet territory.
The only thing that stopped them was what stopped Napoleon 130 years earlier, the Russian winner.
So it's weather that bails them out.
It's their vast numbers of troops.
The Russian soldiers are terrible, or may I should say good, depending on your perspective, at taking orders no matter what and being fed into this giant military meat grinder.
This could go on and on for a while.
I'm much more worried about the prospect Putin getting to a point where he gets completely exasperated and frustrated by all of us, finds out that his troops aren't fighting well, which they probably won't, that the Ukrainians are resisting extremely well, which they probably will, and then, you know, the bear in a corner getting poked with a stick.
People have asked me, Seb, do you think there's a possibility, a scenario where this guy could use nuclear weapons?
Yeah, I do, actually.
I could see that as a possibility.
When life has no value to you, that's when mass destruction is actually a credible option.
That's right.
And they've been willing to pull the trigger and experience mass casualties and mass death.
And he seems to want the Ukraine really, really bad.
He gave that speech to the, it was basically the State of the Union address to the Russian parliament, the Duma, in April 2005.
Where he infamously said that the collapse of the USSR was the quote greatest geopolitical catastrophe of the 20th century.
And at the time, Seb, I mean, people like me and you thought, boy, what does this mean?
I mean, Putin at that point, 2005, hadn't really been that bad yet, right?
I mean, he had won a giant electoral victory in 2000, another in 2004.
He didn't really start to get nasty until around 2003, 2004, 2005.
And we thought, well, you know, he doesn't want the old Soviet Union.
I mean, he doesn't want Uzbekistan.
He doesn't want... He doesn't want stands with Muslim nations because that's already enough of a problem.
But if you're talking about white Orthodox countries with Catholic communities that can be suppressed, that's a different kettle of fish, correct?
That's right.
And so people would say to people like, you know, me and you, others, what does he mean by that?
And I would say, well, I could see him wanting the Crimean peninsula.
I could see him wanting more of the Ukraine.
And after 2014, after he went into the Crimea, people said, how much of the Ukraine?
And I said, I honestly don't know all of it.
I'd be really surprised.
Well, now we're finding out that he wants all of it, you know, right smack into Kiev.
And then, and then what could it be after that, that he might want?
I don't know.
But Ukraine is the largest territory in Europe outside of Russia itself.
It's this giant country larger than Texas.
It's got 40 million people and he seems to want it pretty badly.
And during the Cold War it was deemed the breadbasket of the Soviet Union.
It fed most of the people in the other republics because it has such fertile ground.
That's right.
And if your country is basically, here again to quote my old late friend Herb Meyer, If Russia is basically like Saudi Arabia with gas without the stand, and your primary export is energy, right, gas, natural gas, oil, they need other resources.
And they want the fertile land that the Ukraine has.
The only time that it wasn't fertile was when Stalin forcibly collectivized it and caused the famine there in the early 1930s.
Killing 8 million Ukrainians, which the ethnic Ukrainians have not forgotten.
That's right.
That's about the only time that it wasn't productive.
And so Putin wants it now, and this could be a very dangerous situation.
And as to how this could expand beyond the two in that conflict, as soon as you have countries outside of Ukraine, NATO member countries, right?
Denmark, Netherlands, Poland, maybe Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, possibly Slovakia, Slovenia, the Czech Republic, Aiding or giving materiel, giving weapons to the Ukrainians to help them fight.
If Putin gets in a situation where he retaliates against one of those NATO countries on NATO territory, that triggers Article 5 of the NATO Charter, an attack against one is an attack against all.
Biden even said that, that could bring us in.
Yeah, the Collective Defense Clause, Article 5, which could in fact happen by accident, given that many of the Ukrainian units don't even know where they are.

Paul, how significant, this is another thing, so I, you know me, I have this background from Central Europe because of my parents, but I spent the last 20 years In the national security realm, dealing with counter-terrorism.
And what I did was I studied the bad guys.
Al-Qaeda, ISIS.
I read what they wrote and shockingly, because nobody in the US government actually read it, I taught that to our operators, our Green Berets, intelligence analysts and the FBI.
What does it say about our strategic culture that people didn't even pay attention To the speech that Putin gave a week before the invasion, this pseudo-history verbal diarrhea where he said, well, you know, Ukraine never been an independent country.
It's Russian.
It's always been Russian.
Before the Duchy of Muscovy, the Vikings landed there who became the modern Rus people.
Because that tells you what he's going to do and that tells you he's going to take the whole country Why you know you are the guy who's written the books?
Especially dupes and now the devil and Karl Marx.
It's not it's not rocket science It's not brain surgery.
We need to read what the bad guys say don't we?
Yeah, we do and in fact.
I'm somebody that I wrote a lot of books about Ronald Reagan You know, Ronald Reagan all the time actually read Marx, actually read Lenin, actually—and this is funny because Reagan, of course, was portrayed by the left as an idiot, as somebody who didn't read.
And Reagan would say all the time, he would protest, well, you know, I'm only quoting their own documents, which I've actually read.
And I'm reminded right now, Seb, quite a bit during this period, about Reagan in the 1980s trying to block the construction of the Soviet Siberian gas pipeline.
And there were two strands of it.
One of the strands he tried to delay the construction of, and the second one he tried to block the construction of altogether.
And this was something that even Margaret Thatcher wasn't with him on.
We actually, I mean, this is now declassified, we actually sabotaged the software and the electronics for that pipeline.
That's exactly right.
Yeah.
Sorry about the shameless plug.
I wrote about this in my book, The Crusader, and it was We sabotaged it.
It was an explosion that you could see from space.
I mean, this was a really big deal.
I'm trying to think of the guy at the NSA who did this.
I interviewed him before he died.
Really kind of enigmatic character.
Weiss.
His last name was Weiss.
W-E-I-S-S.
And yeah, it was really dramatic.
It was an extraordinary thing.
But Ronald Reagan realized that if you really want to hurt the Soviets, especially a time like when they had, oh, just invaded a country next door like Afghanistan, the way that you do that is you undercut their energy exports, right?
You know, that's the revenue that they use to literally fuel their war machine, their tanks.
And so right now, it's the same kind of thing.
If you want to slow their war machine, if you want to slow their tanks, if you want to give them shortage supplies, gasoline supplies and so forth, you cut out their revenue source of energy.
The same kind of thing.
You don't buy gas from them, you pump your own.
You drill domestically where you can.
The last thing that you do is you buy their product and give them money.
Yeah, and you don't give State of the Union addresses that don't actually address the issue and instead cancel commercial flights from Russia.
I'm not sure that's going to make a great dent in the war machine of the Russian Federation, Paul.
Right, right.
That's exactly right.
We're talking to the author, most recently, of The Devil and Karl Marx, Paul Kengel.
He has written a library worth of studies on the Soviet Union, on the ideology of communism.
My favourite is Dupes, but also check out Crusader.
The most recent is the devil and Karl Marx.

Paul, there's an interesting juxtaposition now with the last two weeks, what we have witnessed in Europe and the strange spectacle of Democrats at the State of the Union with their little yellow and blue Ukrainian decals and cheering for the freedom fight of the Ukrainians
After two years of Covid shutdown, masking of children, supporting the defunding of the police, and Black Lives Matter being one of the biggest new spears of the left here, put into context the difference between an external socialist threat and an internal one, and perhaps the internal one is now the greater?
Well, yeah, it's very interesting.
They've suddenly become these hawkish anti-Russians, ready to gas up the planes and go bomb the Russkies.
And this all happened after 2016 when they did their tinfoil hat election conspiracy mongering about Donald Trump working with Putin and the Russians to win the 2016 election and steal it from their beloved Hillary.
So for four years, they gave us all this garbage.
about rigged elections, right?
And then all of a sudden, in November 2020, when anybody on the right had any questions at all about what happened then, they're banning you on Twitter, right?
They're hitting you with misinformation, right?
You're forever smeared and canceled if you raise any questions about any of this stuff after these people for four years did a steady drumbeat of Trump collusion, Trump collusion with Putin, Putin, Putin, Putin.
So they hate the Russians now, the left does.
So they can get totally behind Ukraine.
And yeah, I mean, don't even get me started on the mask mandate stuff.
I mean, this stuff drives me crazy.
And meanwhile, too, after we just witnessed what we did from Justin Trudeau up north in Canada, and Biden, I mean, for Biden last night to be declaring victory over COVID, unmasked and everything else, if the Supreme Court hadn't stopped him, Seb, just like what, like eight weeks ago, he would have been forcibly vaccinating.
Every American employed by every organization with over 100 employees.
I mean, it would have been good last night if he could have stood up and said, boy, what a mistake that would have been in retrospect, right?
But the court had to stop him from doing that.
So yeah, no, there's a special kind of hypocrisy here, no question.
Do you think, and maybe this is just wishful thinking, do you think if this gets worse in Europe, if we see the full extent and have the evidence of Russian atrocities, that this could have a knock-on effect to undermine or tarnish the BLM movement, which you have written about as pure Marxism created by Marxists.
Could the failure of a post-communist authoritarian regime have domestic consequences on the Marxists here at home?
It's a really good point that you're making, Seb.
I've had a number of liberals email me, and not only are they now suddenly anti-Russian in a way that I hadn't seen in a long time, but they're anti-communist, right?
And a lot of it is they don't totally understand Putin.
And you and I have talked about this.
Putin is really hard to figure out.
So he's trained in the KGB.
He was trained by the communists, trained by the Kremlin.
Personally, ideologically though, the guy in 2000 when he came in implemented a 13% flat tax on all income, right?
That's not something Karl Marx would have done, right?
I would kill to have the Russians' income taxes.
So he's this weird sort of traditional Russian nationalist authoritarian strongman who wants this kind of larger, greater Russia.
He's not a Stalinist, right?
He's just in a kind of weird category unto himself, totally.
But if there's an interesting side benefit from this, it's that Americans are connecting him with the KGB, with communism, with Stalin, and everything else.
And so suddenly now, liberals are becoming anti-Russian and even anti-communist.
Now, will that have any effect on the ideologies that they're teaching in their schools?
on their understanding of Marxist-based critical theory and critical race theory?
Will they go to the BLM website and say, wow, look at this!
These people have this campaign against what they call, what is it?
White capitalism, white supremacist capitalism.
This phrase at the BLM website about how capitalism doesn't love black people.
Right?
The statement about the Western prescribed nuclear family structure.
Will they make those cross connections like that?
Frankly, probably not, because liberals aren't very good at doing that kind of thing.
But for right now, man, they hate the Russians.
Yeah.
Well, you say he's an unusual character, but it is unreasonable to think that the way he thinks, the way he calculates the cost benefits aren't formed very, very deeply by his experience as a KGB colonel during the Cold War.
That has to be the formative.
Yeah, that's exactly right.
So when he looks back in an April 2005 speech to the Duma, And he says that the collapse of the USSR was the great geopolitical catastrophe of the 20th century.
So he's hearkening back there fondly.
He's looking fondly back at the old Soviet Union.
So he wants some semblance of that motherland.
When was he born?
I think 1952.
So he's now about 70 years old, I believe.
Yeah, he graduated in 75 from college.
And this could be, now keep in mind here too, our friend Boris Yeltsin picked him as Prime Minister, and he did that.
Yeltsin announced this in his December 31st, 1999 speech, resigning.
Yeltsin stepped down in March of 2000.
They held elections in March 26, 2000.
Putin was elected overwhelmingly.
Putin came in that June of 2000.
He was supposed to be in SEB for two terms.
It was two four-year presidential terms.
By 2008, with Dmitry Medvedev—that was Obama's buddy, right?
Medvedev referred to Comrade Obama, right?
And it was to Medvedev that Obama said that he would have more flexibility after the election.
So they twisted everything.
In 2008, the Prime Minister, the President, everything, and Russia to where Putin was able to come back in.
Here we are now 2022.
He's been in power for 22 years.
He's set now to at least 2030.
And he's probably in there for life unless somebody takes him out.
And that could be another 10-12 years.
Which, as far as I'm concerned, is not happening.
We're going to play that cut, the flexibility cut momentarily.
But But first, dear friends, there is a full-scale assault, as you know, on truth and your right to speak.

Join the good guys.
Let's play that cut.
This is from the infamous Obama-Medvedev summit.
I will have more flexibility after the election.
I will transmit this to Vladimir.
Imagine, Paul, if Reagan, if one of the Bushes, if Trump had done that, the collapse of the administration.
Yeah, in fact, all the anti-Russia hawks among the Democratic Party, they would be drawing up impeachment papers against Donald Trump over that.
Yeah, and you see in that clip, Obama reaches out with his left hand and he taps Medvedev on his right hand and he says, this is my last election, right?
You know, I'll have more flexibility after the election.
And Medvedev, who indeed referred, you called him Comrade Obama, not in that clip, but before, said, I will transmit this to Vladimir.
So yeah, and that is something, it's absolutely outrageous.
And we have to point out, I forget, what was the date of that?
Do you have that date handy?
Do we have the date, Eric?
Do you know the date for that cut?
No, we don't have that, but that must have been right about the time of his election.
So what would that be?
8, 12, around 12.
It would have been.
Yeah, that's exactly right.
Here's the key point.
It was prior to.
Oh, yeah.
Prior to the invasion of Crimea.
That's right.
In 2014.
And that's why this stuff matters.
These are signals that presidents send.
You know, Ronald Reagan said the Russians respect strength, not weakness.
Right.
If you were going to approach them at the negotiating table, Reagan said you needed to have a sword in one hand.
Right.
So you couldn't go into it weak.
And you and I talked about this, I think, last summer.
When what happened in Afghanistan in July and August with Biden, who even liberals, Jake Tapper, CNN, and others were all critical of him, that weakness that we showed in Afghanistan, we said, this sends a signal to people like Putin in regard to the Ukraine, to people like Xi in regard to Taiwan, and don't be surprised if they get emboldened by this and act because of this.
Are you blaming Biden for Putin invading the Ukraine?
No, I'm not.
It's not that simplistic.
Dictators act like this when they do, when they feel they can get away with it.
No matter what your opinion on Donald Trump, But he did not.
Biden did not do this during the Trump presidency.
Putin, yeah, no, Putin didn't do this.
Look, the way I describe it, very simple.
Vladimir Putin pulled the trigger on this war.
He's responsible for initiating it.
But he did it now because Biden is the president, because Biden surrendered in Afghanistan.
I mean, timing is everything.
And that's the timing he chose because Donald Trump, my boss, He's not in the White House.
He's the director of the Institute for Faith and Freedom Growth, City College.
Check out his latest book, The Devil and Karl Marx.
