Sebastian Gorka FULL SHOW: The border situation is an invasion

Time Text
- Mr. President, what's your reaction to the images from the southern what's your reaction to the images from the southern border?
Get it under control.
Get it under control or you have it under control?
We will get it under control.
Do you have it under control?
We will get it under control.
Welcome, dear friends.
This is America First on the Salem Radio Network with me, Sebastian Gorka, former strategist to President Trump, member of the National Security Education Board.
Yes, Biden, I'm still a member.
Just try and fire me.
I'll see you into the ground.
We'll have some fun.
He says we'll get it under control.
Really?
But I thought it was under control.
I thought you had fixed everything we had quote-unquote destroyed in our border regime.
Alejandro Mayorca said it is a lie that the border is open.
Oh really?
What about the footage?
Not just the Fox drone footage from Del Rio and that bridge with 15,000 illegal immigrants under it, but this footage from Todd Bensman, Senior National Security Fellow at the Center for Immigration Studies, that he filmed in Del Rio.
9,000 Haitians!
9,000!
So you've got it under control?
Or Or it's not a problem?
Or you'll get it in control?
I just listened to the news seconds ago before I walked into the studio.
There are now at least 9,000 illegal immigrants left under the bridge because what?
What's happening?
As Todd told us yesterday, quietly under the cover of night, with every bus you can impound, every local school district bus that you can sequester, you're scooping up the illegal immigrants.
You're quote-unquote processing them at DHS facilities or army bases without checking them for COVID, without vaccinating them like everybody else has to, and you're shipping them out across America.
Is that your idea of fixing it?
Of getting control of it?
In that report I was listening to, God bless Dan Scavino, that's the footage we're showing right now, that's President Trump's social media expert, the guy who's with him every single day, buddy of mine, God bless you Dan for that footage, for Ted Cruz.
I mean, it looks like a third world country!
They're turning America into Haiti!
Because of Biden!
And I just heard of the 9,000 wretched people there.
There are more than 300 pregnant women.
Pregnant women living under a bridge?
Protecting themselves with reeds and foliage in a makeshift shantytown in America?
This is where it ends.
This is where anyone who voted Democrat has to just wake up.
This is abuse of our fellow man.
Forget national sovereignty or national security or how ISIS, ISIS-K, the Taliban, Al-Qaeda and whoever else is exploiting the fact that we are open.
The front door to America, some of the front doors open.
There is no door.
The door has been taken off the hinges.
Forget about that.
Forget about the next 9-11.
You heard him.
One of the most sober, professional people on national security in this stinkin' fetid city.
Regular guest every Friday.
Jim Carrafano said it right here after the fall of Kabul.
After the surrender.
He called it a surrender.
It's not a withdrawal.
It's a retreat.
Contact with the enemy, then you pull out.
That's a retreat.
That's a surrender.
Jim said because of this administration there will be more 9-11s and they will be bigger than the first one and that's on you if you voted for Biden but if you can if you can live in that bizarro world where we could just put that to the side for a second the fact that there'll be more 9-11s and they'll be bigger just
The institutional abuse of our fellow man, including pregnant women.
There's the fake news industrial complexes literally generating, creating propaganda right now of, you know, the Customs and Border Patrol officers on their horses whipping those black Asians.
With cretins, morons!
Like Chris Cuomo talking about the way they're whipping them with their riding crops.
Oh yes, their, what is it, their DHS-issued riding crops?
What is this?
What fantasy, what insane parallel universe do you live in, you moron?
Oh, you mean the reins by which he turns the horse?
That's now a riding crop that he's whipping people with?
You bloody liar!
You Goebbels-level propagandist!
If you ever vote for Democrats in the near future, after what you are witnessing right now in the southern border in Del Rio, then you are as heartless and soulless as the people who have actually made it possible.
Like Biden and Alejandro Mayorkas and all the people in the White House who simply for political reasons so they can win every election in the future with people they amnesty in the infrastructure bill.
Yes!
Yes!
They want to give American citizenship.
It's not just gerrymandering the votes because the size of a congressional district depends upon how many people live in it, not how many citizens, how many illegals plus citizens live in it.
It's not just about that.
They think they can buy the votes of every Haitian, every Mexican, every Guatemalan, every Angolan.
Yes, an Angolan.
That's who Todd Benjamin spoke to in Del Rio.
What has this got to do?
With equity?
Nothing.
Because the equity of a... Todd told us, the stench, just the stench of the human sewage, the effluence, under that bridge where 15,000 people are camping out before they're shipped off in the dead of night by the Biden administration.
Just those conditions.
That's on you if you voted for Biden.
If you're a Never Trumpet, ooh, the tweets were so mean, and you stayed home instead of voting for my old boss, guess what?
That human suffering is on you.
It's on your soul.
And what are you gonna do about it?
We secured the border.
Forget about the images, if you can.
Forget about the national security.
How about the left-wing organizations?
How about the globalists?
Like the United Nations Human Rights Watch saying that 60 to 80 percent of the women and girls, girls, trafficked across the border are sexually abused or raped.
That's on you!
We practically shut down the border with our title 42 powers under the last administration of a public health emergency.
The illegal crossings dwindled to a trickle.
And now in this calendar year, it will be 2 million human beings.
Pregnant women under that bridge.
They don't care.
They just don't care.
Because they're wicked.
Wicked and evil.
You didn't vote for him, good.
You voted for President Trump.
What are you doing to make sure they don't steal the next election and that we get him back in office?
Have you volunteered?
Are you running for local office?
Are you helping somebody else who is?
Are you putting pressure on your state legislature to make sure that they don't allow the election to be stolen again?
For the sake of humanity, get involved.
I'm Sebastian Gorka, this is American First on the Salem Radio Network.
Next up, freedom fighter par excellence, Devin Nunes.
All right.
Mic's on.
on all right all right let's post that Yeah.
Do we have, um... Dr. Barkey's, uh, cell phone?
Yeah.
Can you send it, give it to me?
Yeah, thanks.
Title for that one?
Gawker Goes Gorilla.
I don't know.
What do we call it?
Berserker.
They're abusing our fellow man at the border.
Um...
On those lines.
This...
This, um...
Tragedy is on every Biden voter.
They're still going with this whipping thing.
Kamala just talked about it.
CNN just having this congressman, that's where you would denounce it.
You tell a lie often enough, as they say.
Whipping was what?
He said the reins of the horse?
No, they said they were actually whipping them with whips or with riding crops.
Do they know how big a riding crop is?
It's pretty close to somebody to whip them with a riding crop.
It's not Indiana Jones.
How come there's not one of them actually whipping them?
Right, exactly.
It's like why is there no footage of the president calling for an insurrection?
Because he didn't say it.
So Cut 13 is the one you have to add to the interview.
After I say goodbye, just tag it on the end.
I think they're going on ignorance of what... yeah, riding crops.
I don't think the public knows how large a riding crop...
Grandmother was an Olympic horse trainer.
No way!
Yes.
Wow.
I'm very familiar with riding crops.
Interesting.
For show jumping?
I forget exactly what she did.
She had stopped in for a while.
She just did riding lessons when I was around.
She used to have a 20-something horse farm up in Minnesota.
It was crazy.
Very cool.
Do you remember someone last week mentioning in a book about Mal?
No.
Yeah, I don't either.
Someone was asking about it.
Okay.
A caller brought it up, she was trying to figure out what book it was.
About now?
Yeah.
Maybe when Boris was hosting?
No, she said it was probably Tuesday or Wednesday.
Huh.
Interesting.
Is he calling us?
Yeah.
That is affirmative.
Okay.
And Eric, I might have to manually give you, like, physically give you the files because my computer's not connecting to the internet for some reason.
You have them on, like, a USB drive or something?
Yeah, I mean, I don't have a USB drive, but I can do it over, probably over the break.
You mean, like, email them to me, or?
No, I don't.
I need physical media.
Okay, yeah, just send them to me on my computer and I can email them.
Yeah, mics are going off.
Yeah.
This is America First with Sebastian Gorka.
Failure to enforce laws that exist in the United States.
A man-made disaster of inhumanity, of epic proportions.
That was the governor of Texas, Greg Abbott, just moments ago before we started the show.
The man-made disaster of inhumanity, of epic proportions.
That was the governor of Texas, Greg Abbott, just moments ago before we started the show.
I'm very excited to welcome our first guest here on America First, a freedom fighter par excellence on Capitol Hill, former chairman of the Intelligence Committee, representing California's 22nd District, Congressman Devin Nunes.
Welcome back to America First.
Seabass, it's always a pleasure.
Thank you.
Yes, indeed.
My friends call me Seabass.
Don't ask why.
It's a special reason.
We've got to talk about Durham.
We've got to talk about the only indictment to come out after almost two years.
But first things first, your reaction to the tragic Well, like always, they're obfuscating and they're hoping that the press covers them.
And then today, what happened now at the U.N. as he's leaving?
Biden says we're going to get it under control.
I thought they fixed the border that we broke in the Trump administration, Congressman.
Well, like always, they're obfuscating and they're hoping that the press covers them.
I mean, the challenge that they have now is it's becoming impossible because there's so many people at the border recently.
Remember, you've got the Del Rio crossing where the Haitians are, but you still have multiple other crossings where there's thousands of people a day that are coming across.
I was just down there a couple months ago.
It just never stops, never stops, because the Biden administration changed the rules on where you can apply and how you can apply for asylum.
That's all that's going on here.
So I would like to know how these Haitians all arrived here.
It has to be But they paid money to the drug cartels.
So essentially what you have is you have the drug cartels running people into the United States of America, where this is now a money making scheme.
And I say that not to go into something, this was the California border, but just a month ago or so, I was down there and I ran into people and I thought they spoke Spanish.
And then I realized they didn't speak Spanish at all.
It was because the cartels had brought them from Romania of all places.
A family.
So this is now Mexican drug cartels running a money-making operation, and the Biden administration refuses to do anything about it.
So guess what?
The more money that can be made, the more you will get of it.
And so the cartels, I'm sure, are running boats and planes As we speak, just plugging the pipeline and putting money in their pocket.
What do you think of the idea that Republican governors along the border should simply deploy their National Guard elements?
Well, look, they already have.
Down in Texas, they already have to some degree.
I mean, you can bet that in California and New Mexico, they will not do that because they're blue states run by left-wing governors.
But the governor of Texas, as I understand, is doing everything he can within the law when I was down there.
They were putting people down there, and the Texas Rangers were down there, but look, you know, the state of Texas is a big state, but it's really hard for them to secure the border.
I mean, it's hard to secure the border at all, and I think that's why you're seeing the state of Texas move to finish the wall, which, you know, at least if you finish the wall, it's not 100% cure.
But it does allow the Border Patrol that's down there to focus on the problem areas and really target the drug cartels.
But look, until you change the laws back to the way they were and implement that you can't apply for asylum in the United States, there's too much money in this.
You have people paying anywhere from $10,000 to $50,000 per person to get delivered to the border to claim asylum.
Yeah.
Just moments ago, Governor Abbott said that Texas is arresting anybody who trespasses on private as well as public land.
But of course, it is a manpower issue.
Follow this man, Nunes.House.Gov on Twitter at Devin Nunes and check out the incredible movie made about his fight for the truth on the Russia collusion hoax.
It's Plot Against the President.
That's P-A-T-P movie.com.
That's Plot Against the President.
Based upon the superb book by the same name written by Lee Smith.
I have to ask you since the news broke after we last spoke, is this a rest of some lawyer nobody's heard of before who lied to the FBI about the PP dossier, the sources for that opposition research?
Does this mean anything or is this just John Durham with a little fig leaf to show us that he did something in the last two years?
Well, as you know, we've talked about this a lot on your show, Dr. Urquhart.
I am the one who has been actually very supportive of Durham.
I have thought for a long time that the fact that there are no leaks coming out, I thought this was a good sign.
And I would say this, that Sussman was the target of our investigation.
And in fact, in that 27-page indictment, which if you haven't read it, it's really worth reading because it's much different than what you see for lying to the FBI.
Indictments.
Typically they're pretty short, and it's when you've been interviewed by the FBI.
This is totally different, and there's so much in that indictment that a lot of folks that cover the Russia hoax closely have discovered new information.
Now, we always knew that the way this was working, this was a laundering type of operation by the Clinton campaign, where they use lawyers to launder money and hire people so that they can go do nefarious things.
Now look, All campaigns throughout history have all done this.
That's no secret.
But the difference here is that they went to feed this into their buddies at the FBI.
And that's so Sussman, in a lot of ways, is the traffic cop.
He was the one that was ordered to do it.
So now the question is, is anyone in the campaign, is Sussman going to say, I just did it?
Or ultimately, when put under oath and interviewed, is he going to say, well, it wasn't me.
I was told to do it.
And that really is the question.
So, you know, he talked big in court last week.
Let's see what he actually says.
When he has to testify.
But given that the only other indictment so far was a low-level FBI lawyer who forged a CIA document to obtain the FISA warrant to spy on Carter Page, he didn't spill the beans on anybody.
And there's no way a low-level FBI lawyer forged a CIA document without being ordered to by Comey or Brennan.
So do you have hopes that we will actually pull a thread here?
Yeah, I think two different issues.
I think with the low level lawyer, that was really a cut and dried case.
I thought he got off way too easy in terms of his sentencing because it was like six months or something.
And he clearly had doctored evidence and he pled guilty to that.
This is much different because this is right at the heart of how this, remember how this goes.
The Clinton campaign gives it to a law firm and gets information to Fusion GPS, the other Clinton operation, And they're all feeding this into the FBI that is the beginning of this, of the Russia hoax.
Right.
And the p-tape and everything else that you mentioned.
So, now the question is, if you read that 27-page indictment, it really lays out a conspiracy.
And conspiracy is the major crime that's been committed here.
They conspired to break numerous federal laws.
And, you know, can you nail down, I don't believe for a second, that people within the FBI and the Department of Justice Didn't know that this was a Clinton campaign operation and there really was no evidence.
And in fact, in that 27-page indictment, we know that the FBI knew shortly after that this was totally bogus.
And we've known that for a long time.
So I guess the answer is we don't know yet, but I think this 27-page indictment was a major step in the right direction because, look, it's the first time.
You know, the Nunes report and the Nunes memo and all that, they can say, oh, you know, they can go after me and attack me.
They can say that, oh, well, the Inspector General Horowitz report, well, that was just a report, and at the end nothing happened.
But now you've got a 27-page indictment.
We're going to post it right now.
Educate yourself.
Read the indictment and follow this man.
Adevo Nunes.
God bless you.

What is it about Canadians?
Our Canuck brothers up north.
Why have they gone total fascist on us?
It's bad enough that the Australians, but next door, it's what Chris Platt calls America's hat.
Yes, indeed, Canada.
And he's just that pretty boy has gone total, total Goebbels on us.
This is what he's saying about, you know, who gives you your rights?
Justin Trudeau, cut seven.
We're paying for the provincial vaccine passports to make sure that when someone comes into a restaurant, they'll know they won't be sitting beside a table of people who are unvaccinated.
When you go into a gym, when you go to a movie theater, you need to know that if you've done the right things, You get to be safe.
You get to be rewarded for having done the right things.
That's what it's all about.
And those people who still hesitate, who still resist, well, they won't get to enjoy the same things that those who've done their part for others.
That kind of blows my mind.
I don't know what to say there.
First, what is it with this kind of beta mail?
Hey, and you know, we're paying!
We're paying for your, you know, fascist pass!
Your health pass!
Well, no, because unless you and your daddy are paying for it, it's us who pay for it.
Because the government money, yeah, that's our money.
But it's like saying, you know what?
We pay for the handcuffs.
No, no, it's us.
You know the bars in the cell?
We pay for the bars.
So you should be happy about this.
And it's so you can be rewarded.
So you can be safe.
But how is it that more than 50% of the cases of COVID in hospitals Are from people who are already vaccinated.
So how am I safe if you've got a little bit of paper that says you're vaccinated?
The fact that this is happening in Canada... Rewarded?
When does the government reward us for anything?
Reward us?
Who do you think you are, Justin Trudeau?
Joe Biden, Jen Psaki, Alejandro Mayorkas, that you deign to give us the rights that God actually provided for us from the moment of our conception as human beings made in his image?
You are going to give us the safety?
One word that was missing from that strange, passive-aggressive, beta male, fascistic, I don't even know what to call it, diatribe?
Was the word liberty and freedom.
Does he even think in terms of liberty?
Is he capable?
Is that pretty boy up north even capable?
I think we have somebody we can ask.
I think we should.
His name is Lord Conrad Black and I do believe he's going to be on the show later.

What is two plus?
There's so many more two pluses.
Oh, two-spirited.
What?
What?
Oh, two-spirited.
Yeah, this one, back when it was funny to try and keep track of it.
Uh, they came with two-spirited person, which I think, uh, you know, some, you know, Native American term for someone who's got, uh, spirits, two spirits within them.
Multiple personalities.
Yeah, multiple personalities.
Schizophrenic.
Yeah, exactly.
Yeah.

And I used to scroll through it with my friends and we used to just have a great laugh.
Whose site was it?
Do you remember?
I can't remember.
Was it them or was it us?
It was them.
Oh, it was them.
And they had pictures and everything.
And it was just hilarious.
They didn't get how ridiculous it sounded.
And I can only imagine they've probably gone through.
All right, I'm gonna do JCN, then I'll tee up the second Trudeau.
That's too funny.
JCN and then Trudeau.
Got it.
JCN, yeah.

Okay, let me make that change.
Okay, I've got an American financing disclaimer here.
But yeah, that was... Man, it's a hoot.
Also, they made that flag look so gross now.
It is so ugly.
What have they added to it?
Oh, the little arrow with the... Yeah, they added blue, pink, and white for transgender.
You gotta get a picture of it.
It's got this brown and black arrow coming into it.
It's so funny.
Black arrows?
Yeah, it's not a rainbow anymore.
Yeah, exactly, yeah.
It's crazy.

This guy is really entertaining.
We've got even more from Trudeau.
He's having problems with I guess members of his liberal community... CUT 11!
I will never apologize for standing up for an LGBT... LGBT... LGBT...
LGBTQ2+, uh, kids' rights.
He's laughing.
Why is he laughing?
I don't know.
What is LGDT?
And then 2+, what is 2+, you're the young chappy here, John Jr.
What is, I never heard 2+.
What is that?
Well, I know that they use the plus because they can't say it correctly.
They can't keep it all straight in their own heads.
But the two, I've heard, is for those who are two-spirited people.
Schizophrenics?
Yeah, pretty much.
So, multiple identities?
Absolutely.
Well, if you identify in certain ways now, you just have to be left to your own being.
So, psychotic is something we have to identify with?
Well, we gotta put a nicer name on it, don't we?
2T.
What?
Really?
And then he laughs!
He's laughing at it because it is laughable.
And allegedly, the new flag of the LGTTPT2T2T whatever it is, is very ugly.
I mean, what's it got?
What have they added to it now, John?
Oh, so it went from a rainbow, which is a, you know... Which is a sign of God's covenant with Noah.
Yeah, beautiful, right?
And now they've put in these weird teal, white arrows, and now a black and brown arrow because... But that's fascism!
Black arrows?
It's coming right across the... Ooh, creepy, creepy, creepy.
Okay.
Jeff mentioned something in the break.
Biden.
Is he in trouble now?
Are they... And I want you to be serious, Jeff.
I mean, you are, you know, you are this injection of cynical humor here now and again on America First.
You think he's finally in trouble with his own team?
Absolutely, I do.
Really?
Why?
Well, first of all, I thought since the beginning that the media, the Democrat Party, they don't really like Joe Biden.
There's no real allegiance to him.
So as soon as his numbers are tanking and he's useless to them, they will move on.
So why did they pick him in the election?
Was it because Bernie was too dangerous?
I think it's simple.
If you looked at all the people in the polling, he was about three points better than the rest of the Democrats.
So just math?
I think that's the only reason they did it.
Okay, and now they're starting to do the calculation that he's a liability?
Yes, and I think for them, since they own the media, they're going to do their best they can to prove all these disasters that they had was his fault.
Was his?
Yes.
Okay, I see somebody nodding furiously behind me.
Is that Eric?
Yes, it is.
So do you concur with the analysis of Mr. G?
Absolutely.
Their game plan from the very beginning was always to get rid of Joe Biden.
They wanted him in there.
I mean, A, he was polling at the top of all the fields, because former vice president, default name recognition.
He was the number two after Obama served two years.
He was going to be the nice, sweet old Grandpa Joe who was going to beat that meanie Trump, and then once he gets into office with Kamala as his VP, she's much more ideologically aligned with the really far-left agenda.
Biden is always, like Jeff said, Biden's just a puppet.
He's a vessel.
There is no cult of personality around him the way there was around Obama or Bernie or any of these other guys.
They were always going to eventually get rid of him.
The only question is when.
But, okay, on Kamala, does she really have An ideological core, because I just see her as, you know, a non-senile version of Biden.
She's as hollow and flip-floppy as anybody else.
I think she buys into CRT and all that nonsense way more than Biden does.
You know, we've talked about how Biden used to support, like, or was against busing or things along those lines back in the 70s.
He'll go wherever the winds go.
I think she, growing up, she always talked about, you know, I grew up in the era of busing, that little girl was me.
You know, she was actually molded by this stuff and she does buy into it, yes.
Yeah, but she wasn't bussed, by the way.
That's all a lie.
She actually stole that story from somebody else.
Well, let's go to... What generation are you?
You're not millennial.
What are you?
Z?
ZXY?
2?
2+, what are you?
Yeah, whatever comes after that.
Hey, I'm 2+.
2, 2+, whatever.
2+, whatever that new car firearms thing is.
Oh, the 90s.
Hang on!
Stop there!
I'm gonna interrupt you.
My gosh, that's a great segue or not.
Nicely done.

Thank you for reminding me, John Jr.
Your take.
You listen to different media.
You're a younger generation.
Is he on the ropes?
Is he in trouble?
I think Biden is is easily looking to get totally shoveled out with, you know, the baby in the bathwater here.
But I do think there's a different take on Kamala Harris here.
I think Kamala Harris, her entire political career has been looking at the next foothold, the next leg up.
And I think this is the most massive foothold leg up that she could get her hands on.
And that's Joe Biden, former President Joe Biden.
So you think she's kind of prepping the battlefield?
I would just watch out.
Need a beer taster.
Just the idea of her in the Oval Office.
Anyway, it's going to be good for talk radio, that's for sure.
I'm Sebastian Corker.
This is America First.
We have to have a mercenary response.
This mercenary is Kamala Harris.
Although, nobody's that mercenary.
Coming to you from the reliefactor.com studios.
Are you in pain?
I was.
For nine years, almost a decade.
Lower back, the sacrum, if you know your skeletal verbiage.

Thank you.
Nicely done.
Completely kind of blasted past me.
Oh yeah, yeah, right.
Guns.
Thank you.
Guns.
I love that video of the dogs in the background.
It's so great.
Run that again.
I love that.
It's so funny.
Can you play that?
Hang on.
America First Hall, please.
America First, what's your name?
There's Killian.
That's Killian just right by the box?
No, that's Leia.
Killian just walked off.
He doesn't like guns.
Leia doesn't mind.
That's not bad for an iPhone.
How'd you get it mounted so still like that?
I had a holder for an iPad and I just put it on the holder for the iPad.
If you ever need your iPhone settings, you can actually upgrade.
If you go into it, you can upgrade the video you're taking.
Lose all the space on my iPhone and everything, because I was trying to shoot in really high quality.
How much does it increase the resolution by?
Well, you can get to 60 frames a second, which is good for anything immediately off of TV, because they're going to run at 29.9.
What size iPhone do you have?
This is an 11, I think.
No, no, but the memory size.
Oh, it's like 250 something.
So you run out pretty fast?
Yeah, I mean, I'll tell you.
You know what the coolest thing is?
Specifically, yeah.
All this stuff on iPhones you have no idea about.
There's a function that I just learned on the camera that allows you to scan to PDF.
Yeah.
It's like, excuse me?
Yeah.
Could you just tell me about that, please?
Yeah.
All right.
Good.
I mean, crazy stuff.
Android users will say, oh, you know, we had that four years ago.
But, you know, it is what it is.
All right.
Stand by.
We're coming in 14 seconds.
All right.
All right.
Sebastian Gorka.
Very kind thank you, Deep Voice Dave.
Jeff might be right.
Eric might be right.
John Jr.
might be right.
Even CNN is getting the message.
They've had enough of Sleepy Creepy.
Cut 9.
Play cuts.
This is something we haven't seen before.
This camp inside of the United States with thousands of people.
What is the reticence to call something that is so clearly a crisis, a crisis?
I call it a heartbreaking situation, a tremendous challenge.
Hang on, I thought he said they'd fix the border.
Why is Alejandro Mayorkas saying this is a heart-wrenching situation?
Didn't you fix the border that we broke by sealing it?
Oh, so you have a crisis, but you're not allowed to call it a crisis.
Hmm.
All right, let's go to your calls.
First call of the day, Heidelberg, Pennsylvania.
Charles, line one.
Yes, Dr. Gorka, how are you?
Good.
Alright, one thing as far as, we talk about states' rights.
Yes.
And the states actually put the federal government together.
So the states have more power over, the federal government cannot overpower the states.
Now the border of Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, they should be more in control of the border than the federal government.
These people are coming over onto Texas land Why doesn't Texas have full control and the other states have a border?
When you go back to 1776, we had New Hampshire, Vermont, they were on the border with Canada.
They were in charge of their border.
Why aren't we in charge of our southern border?
Yeah, look, I'm not an expert in terms of the legalities of border protocols.
I think there's maybe two big issues from a layman's perspective.
Charles, number one, it's just manpower.
They don't have the requisite manpower to deploy even the Rangers or their National Guard for months and months on end, because usually when the Guard is deployed for longer deployments that have to do with national security, such as Afghanistan or Iraq, guess who picks up the cost?
Federal government from our taxpayer-funded federal dues.
So number one, that's a kind of obvious answer.
And secondly, there is the separation of foreign policy as a federal exclusive mandate, vice what states do internal to their actual physical territory.
And when you're dealing with a border regime, what is the mechanism for Texas to deal with Mexico?
When you're deporting.
So don't worry.
These are exactly the questions we need to ask.
We're going to find out this Sunday on Newsmax on the Gorka reality check.
We're going to be focusing on the disasters of the last nine months.
We'll have a whole segment with Mark Morgan, former Commissioner of Customs and Border Protection.
If you don't watch it, Why not?
Download the app right now, the Newsmax app.
It's free and Sunday 7 p.m.

American Consequences
Disturbing result for those who believe in classic values of liberalism in the old term, the old sense of the term, or conservatism with a small c. But it looks like Justin Trudeau is safe.
As a result of the snap elections, let's find out what's really going on from our regular guest, author of A President Like No Other, Donald J. Trump and the Restoring of America, co-host of the Scholars and Sense podcast, along with our friend Victor Davis Hanson and Bill Bennett, Lord Conrad Black.
Welcome back to America First.
Thanks very much, Sebastian.
Glad to be with you.
Lord Black, why was a snap election held up north and what can you tell us about Trudeau's position now?
He called the election, although as you said, he was in no danger in Parliament.
He had a minority government but then a four-party Parliament, you really have to be seriously incompetent to get all three of the others to vote against you.
And he was not in danger of that.
So he called it because he felt that he had done a brilliant job of fighting the coronavirus crisis, the pandemic, and that he could exploit this to extend his term, restore his majority, and take a sharp turn to the left With all his, to put it in American parlance, semi-green new deal, harebrained ideas.
And so he called an unnecessary election to get a majority, and he came back approximately exactly where he was.
So it was a fiasco.
On the other hand, it didn't look like as great a fiasco as it really is, because for a time it looked like he might actually lose.
And the leader of the opposition, O'Toole, ran what looked at times like a fairly effective campaign, but it faded in the end.
And he, last night, desperately trying to hang on to his job, effectively claimed a victory, which he didn't score.
I mean, the Conservatives actually lost a couple of MPs.
So we have all five parties back.
almost exactly where they were before.
There was no point to the election.
Trudeau didn't get his majority.
He doesn't have the mandate he wanted to go where the country doesn't want to go.
But the leader of the opposition looks like a sort of belligerent blowhard clinging to his job and pretending that he's won a victory, which he hasn't.
Everybody lost, and the country lost.
We have basically five party leaders, and the only one of them who looks like he could be the leader of a G7 country is the Quebec separatist leader, Blanchet, who's actually a pretty good leader.
But, you know...
But he's a separatist.
He has no business being in a federal election.
Well, it doesn't seem to have dampened, what did you call it, his quasi, his semi-green New Deal aspirations.
We played this cut in the last hour.
It's so shocking for me to hear this from a quote-unquote statesman that I wish to play it again.
This is Justin Trudeau justifying the existence of our intra-Canadian vaccine passports.
Cut seven.
Does this resonate with a broad swath of Canadians, the idea that the government makes the decisions as to whether or not you should be rewarded as a citizen, Lord Black?
Not really, though the revulsion against it is not as great as it is in the United States.
In Canada there's an equal attachment to the concept of liberty, but a greater respect for the idea that at a certain point the government does have a right to indicate where the general national interest would indicate People should, how they should behave.
You see it in guns, for example.
There never has been in this country a constitutional right to bear arms.
Lots of people obviously have guns for different reasons, but they're much more tightly restricted here.
And Canadians don't really object to that because they don't have that tradition.
But, you know, they don't have the same sociological problems.
They don't have the same crime rates either.
But as the United States, but so there is a revulsion amongst a substantial number of people.
The government has no business telling us what to do as meticulously as that, and particularly that terribly pompous school teacher-ish manner in which Justin said it in the bit you just played.
You know, if you are good, we will reward you, and if you aren't good, you will not have the same privileges as those who are good.
And it's just so outrageous, and that does undoubtedly gall a great many people.
I mean, keep in mind, we have a funding system here.
The Conservatives, for the second straight time, lost the election and won the popular vote.
Now, this is an unusual thing in the U.S.
It happens, of course, sometimes, but it's only been six times in American history.
And for a president here, it's, you know, and in other parliamentary systems, I mean, Mr. Churchill ran three elections against Mr. Attlee and he lost the popular vote each time.
But he did win the last election.
But that can happen in the parliamentary system.
But the answer to your question is Canadians don't respond as vigorously as Americans like anything.
But in general, they don't like it.
I mean, they don't want to be treated like children, and certainly not by the likes of Justin.
He's not a great moral authority of a leader, he's just a sort of pretty face with a famous name, you know?
And he's a very nice man, I want to be clear, he's a very nice man.
I personally don't think he's been a good Prime Minister, but he's a nice man and he's very presentable, you know, good-looking, well-spoken.
a man with an attractive young family.
And of course, his father was a very famous man.
Right.
So he's not a bad person.
He's essentially an incompetent prime minister.
Unfortunately for him, he has incompetent leaders of the opposition.
Lord Black, you are in a truly unique position.
And given the fact that not only are you a presidential historian of note, a peer in the British House of Lords, a former media mogul across the Atlantic, in Australia as well.
Let me ask you, your reaction in the correct historic context, what we are witnessing in Canada, in the UK, in Australia, in America, there's a video I just saw two days ago, a woman who is being accosted on her doorstep by the police in Australia.
Why?
Because on social media she said, come and protest the lockdowns tomorrow.
I mean, just, you know, what we are supposed to be able to do In any kind of republic or constitutional monarchy, have you ever seen the like spanning the various regions of the Commonwealth and the United States?
No, I have not.
I've never seen such incompetent government in the United States.
The American political society is in disgrace.
It's going to arrest that and rebuild itself.
I've never seen such a a shambles in American government in every field.
You know, this horrifying shambles in Afghanistan.
Don't worry, says the president.
We still have over-the-horizon influence whereupon they kill 10 innocent people, including seven children.
I mean, all kinds of things.
I mean, 200,000 people a month pouring in over the southern border.
That's never happened.
None of it has happened before that I know of.
And I've been following these things since Eisenhower's time.
Australia.
I mean, I think we spoke about this a couple of weeks ago.
We all know the Australians are rough, tough, rugged, likable people.
They're sort of crocodile dundees at heart, you know?
They get out there in the outback or the Great Barrier Reef or wherever they are, and they're strong, solid men and strong, solid, attractive women.
But how on earth, all of a sudden, if you put up something on Twitter or wherever it was, you get called upon at your home by the police for inciting disorder because you've just invited people to exercise the right of assembly to object to an arbitrary measure.
I can't imagine it happening in Australia.
It's not the Australia I know.
And the one thing that I would extract some hope for is Boris, the Prime Minister Boris Johnson of the UK.
He got them out of Brexit.
And now 70% in the polls of the British say they're glad they're out of Europe.
He got Brexit done.
He got through.
Yes, he made it happen.
The will of the British people, 17 million who voted to leave the European Union, the largest vote of its kind in the history of the UK, is truly remarkable.
However, what he said today With regards to Afghanistan, may shock some of our viewers.
We'll share that with you momentarily.
We're talking to the author of a matter of principle, a superb autobiography, also a president like no other, Donald J. Trump and the restoring of America.
Follow him on Twitter at Conrad M. Black and subscribe to his podcast, Scholars in Sense, along with Victor Davis Hanson and Bill Bennett.
I'm Sebastian Gorka, former strategist of President Trump.
This is America First on the Salem Radio Network.
This is America First on the Salem Radio Network.
I believe so.
Okay, let's play for Lord Black the Boris Johnson cut eight.
Yes.
Mic's are on, by the way.
Go ahead.
Yeah, play cut.
Oh, okay.
This withdrawal of Afghanistan that was so chaotic.
My country, the UK, owes a big debt to the US military for the incredible professionalism and sacrifice they showed at that airport, at the Hamid Karzai International Airport.
It was an amazing operation.
It's never going to be an easy thing to do to pull out of somewhere like Afghanistan after 20 years in a clean and straightforward way.
But you can't spend your whole time trying to run another country by proxy.
It was never going to be easy, but it didn't have to be that messy.
Your own diplomats were stranded in Kabul.
We had that mistaken drone strike.
Are you frustrated that the U.S.
withdrawal was so botched, frankly?
I think that it was a massive logistical success, what they did.
My mics are still live at the break, but for Boris to call that a massive logistical success, do we concur?
Well, look, Boris used to work for me, and I knew him well.
Oh, of course he did, when he was a journalist, yes.
Yeah, well, I sent him to Brussels, and that's where he became famous, and I made him the editor of The Spectator.
Oh, my gosh, so I'm asking the right man.
Yeah, well, look, Boris is... I like Boris, and I think he's... I was going to say on air to everyone, I think he's still doing a good job as PM, but Boris's technique is to be...
He's ingenuously flattering to everybody, but he is capable of changing course quickly.
And what about behind the scenes?
Look, he's fundamentally reliable.
He's an authentic conservative.
He is a classical scholar who believes profoundly in freedom.
And I think he's done a good job in difficult circumstances.
He did resolve the greatest parliamentary crisis since the American Revolution.
And I think fundamentally he's all right.
But he veers in his public remarks.
He's absurdly ingratiating when he doesn't mean a word of it.
And he's devious, but in a good cause.
You think that's a function of his journalistic background, that he's trying to just butter up the people he used to interview and it's just stuck with him as his style?
Not quite like that.
I think it's all tactical with him.
But all he was, he buttered up everyone that could conceivably be useful.
And he's generally quite pleasant to everybody.
You know, he's not a person who is, you know, deferential to the powerful and dismissive of the ordinary people.
Not at all.
He's pleasant and amusing and entertaining with everyone.
But depending on the circumstances, you have to treat His promises with caution.
I will file that away.
All right, we're going to discuss your article and we're going to popularize the phrase Bidenization.
Stand by.
You want to come in with that Boris cut?
No, I think I'm going to use the I'm going to I'm going to tee up Biden coming out of the UN again.
Cut 10.
Yeah, because that fits perfectly with the article.
Yeah.
Actually, actually, can I see cut three?
Oh, no.
Yeah, it's... No.
Not on time.
Come in with... Ten.
Come in with three, and I'll tee up ten.
Come in with three and tee up ten.
Copy that.
All right, come in with three.
Uh, no liner here.
Just come in at ten seconds or fifteen seconds, whatever you want.
Great.
You know, I have not yet heard from the president during this, his entire presidency concerning the border.
The Biden administration refuses to even pretend as though there's a crisis.
Truly, truly remarkable, Governor Greg Abbott of Texas saying on Fox that he has yet to hear in nine months from the current incumbent in the White House with regards to the, it's beyond a crisis now, 15,000 people under a bridge in Del Rio, 9,000 Haitians crossing into our country illegally.
We saw the footage yesterday here on America First But today, today there seems to be a change of heart.
This was Biden shouted at at the UN and maybe an admission that there is a problem.
Play cut, cut 10.
Mr. President, what's your reaction to the images coming from the southern border?
Get it under control.
Get it under control or you have it under control?
We will get it under control.
So the question asks, what is your reaction to those images, tragic images, on the border?
And Biden says, we will get it under control.
For clarification, he's asked again, we will or it is under control?
And the man who bears the title President says, we will get it under control, despite us being told for months that everything is fine.
We are back with Lord Conrad Black, co-host of the podcast Scholars and Sense.
Lord, Lord Black, um, have we lost Lord Black?
Oh, I hope, I hope, I hope he heard the cut because I need to know something has changed in the administration's take and if this is an indication that Joe Biden is on his way out and Kamala Harris is going to pick up the pieces which is quite ironic given the fact that Kamala Harris was the point person for the border.
An individual who, when asked, has she visited the border, said, well, I haven't, but I haven't been to Europe yet either.
As if that's the problem.
An individual who, when she actually visited the border, Went to part of the border that is irrelevant and not to where the people are streaming across.
That's how much she cares or maybe is purposefully avoiding the issue.
Because she thinks that she is going to be the fall gal for that absolute, utter crisis.
Let's ask Lord Black.
Lord Black, is this a significant turn of events that President Biden, the man who bears the title President, says, we will get the border under control?
I thought we were told it was fine.
Oh, it's very, very bad line there.
Lord Black, can you hear us?
I hear you perfectly.
Oh, oh, good.
Let's try again.
You're breaking up a little bit.
So does this signify something significant to you?
Go ahead.
I was just going to say, yeah, it does sound significant to me because of the reason you just said.
I mean, he said all along there was no problem.
He said they were conducting a humane policy on an organized basis.
He had this peculiar nodding and security secretary, Marcus, saying every day the southern border is closed.
People can see on their television or on the internet live, literally live, in real time, actually happening then, people streaming across in unlimited numbers.
And it appears that despite the bag job the national political media, or 95% of them, have conducted on his behalf, they are finally allowing the seat through to the country, which is Taking note of it, the fact that it is just an open artery at the southern border and something has to be done about it.
So what could this presage?
Could this mean that perhaps there is a push to replace him, to have Kamala Harris take over?
Will there be an admission?
Because they've said that the system was broken by us, by the Trump administration, the border regime was broken.
I guess if you want to have a border regime that is Broken.
You know, that for the left is broken.
You want to have it open.
So can they, by their own logic, Lord Black, actually shut the border?
And we lost him again.
I guess he's on his private jet and his helicopter is interfering with it or something.
The number here is 833-33-GORKA.
That's 833-334-6752.
Let's go to a very patient caller.
We'll try and get Lord Blank back.
JR, good friend of the show, Columbus, Ohio, line 2.
Welcome, JR.
Hey, Dr. G. I'm waiting like a kid on Christmas morning for your 1911.
I have it on hold.
Are you serious?
Have you ordered it?
Yes sir!
As soon as it arrives to your FFL, as soon as you do your background check and you pick it up, will you call us up and tell Jeff it's JR and I want to give you my take on the custom 1911.
Will you do that JR?
Yes sir, and I plan to put a one round magazine on the very first day.
So it's not going to be a safe queen, you're actually going to shoot it?
Oh God, yes.
I have to ask you, I'm curious, I know it's not Friday, it's not Second Amendment Friday.
Do you have other 1911s or will this be your first?
This will be my first, Dr. G. No way!
I'm 54.
I've been shooting since I was 8.
I have been looking for an excuse to get a 1911 for so long.
And when I talked to Carter last week and then they hooked me up with a dealer that sending it.
But it looks like maybe late October.
That's what they said.
But I don't care.
I'm waiting.
It's Christmas morning.
This is my first.
This will be my baby and I'm not ever, ever giving it away unless I give it to my son.
I am so excited to hear that.
I find it very, very hard, I must say, J.R., to sell any, any firearm.
I'm so excited.
This is your first 1911.
Guys, if you want one of the 300 custom America First 1911s that say The Second Amendment is a civil right.
America first on the engraved slide, finished in custom burnt bronze with aluminum grips with President Trump and myself on those grips.
Go to the gallery of guns dot com.
That's www.galleryofguns.com in the search box.
Put my name G.O.R.K.A. and order yours today.
J.R.'s got his.
You better get yours.
But you called in with a question or comment, J.R.?
Yeah, I did.
I've watched politics for a long time.
If I did anything that people in government did, I'd still be in a federal prison.
Is anyone ever, ever going to go to jail for what they do?
Yeah, what a fabulous question.
Look, some do.
Usually lowly, lowly individuals.
So far in the story of five years of lying, Russia propaganda, Steele dossier and the fake collusion hoax, one, one FBI lawyer has been given a slap on the wrist and a suspended sentence of, I think, eight months and a fine for forging a CIA document which would have put you and I in prison if we'd done it.
Now we have the lawyer.
Who has been indicted by John Durham for lying to the FBI about the true sources of that dossier.
We shall see.
Look, I have to tell you, I was surprised JR, hand on heart, I was surprised by what Devin said today.
If you missed it guys, Devin Nunes said that this Truly, his expectation is that indictment is the beginning of several indictments because it is a conspiracy charge.
Read the 27-page indictment and other dominoes might fall.
I wasn't expecting that response.

Let's go to your calls.
Mike in San Diego.
Welcome to America First.
Hi, Mr. Gorka.
I'm just calling to follow up about Mike Lindell's conference and he presented proof, but what actually became of that?
Is there any proof that we can go to the court and prove?
I mean, certainly fraud may have happened, but we have to go to court and prove it.
And Mike and other people are making us look like fools.
What's the actual proof?
What do you mean, what's the proof?
Have you not seen... Mike Lindell had a conference... Mike!
Mike!
Stop babbling.
Okay?
I'm not babbling.
You are babbling.
Have you seen the video of poll workers... No, stop Mike.
I get to talk now or I cut you off.
Are we clear?
Good.
Have you seen the video In Georgia, of poll workers after the GOP poll watchers were escorted out of the polling station, going under the table to suitcases of ballots and pulling them out after the poll watchers from the GOP were escorted out.
Have you seen that video, Mike, from San Diego?
I haven't, but if that's true... Oh my gosh!
Go away, Mike!
Listen, let me have a conversation, please.
No, if you're so incapable of living in the real world that you're going to come on a show with three million listeners from Los Angeles to New York and you're seriously going to tell me you haven't seen the CCTV footage, then you're a child, Mike!
You're not a grown-up.
You're not fit to have a conversation.
You know, if you stop insulting me, let's just have a conversation.
No!
It's a statement of fact.
You want to talk to me, you put him down.
Put him down.
If you want to... No, put him down completely.
If you want to act like a grown-up, And talk about election fraud in America.
And you're going to call up a live radio show and say to me that you haven't seen the footage.
You're a clown, Mike.
You're just a provocateur and a clown and a child.
And that's not an insult.
That's a statement of fact.
Let me ask you a question, Mike.
We can pot him up when I finish asking the question.
What would be the reason?
Just answer this very simple question and we'll see if you're fit to have a conversation like an adult and not a child.
What would be the reason for Democrat governors like the Butcher of Richmond, Ralph Northam, for the first time in the history of Virginia, to make it so that the signatures on mail-in ballots do not have to be verified against the registered signatures on the voting rolls?
Let's put Mike's mic up.
What would be the possible reason for not wanting to verify a signature, Mike?
Listen, I agree, it looks suspicious, but the point is, what can you prove?
Goodbye, goodbye, goodbye.
Looks suspicious.
He's not a grown-up.
I mean, this is the question.
Do you live in a world where you deny the truth?
Are you prepared?
I know it's tough.
You've lived your whole life as a Democrat.
Your soul is sold to this bill of goods that, oh, it's about equity, equality, and the little guy, and racial minorities.
And then there's this drip, drip, drip, drip, drip.
They want to keep black Americans on the government plantation of handouts.
They want to make every possible change unconstitutionally to elections so that they can be stolen.
I don't care which party makes that change.
If it's the Republicans saying, don't check signatures, that's as wrong.
But which party has a record?
I mean, we joke about it.
We joke about another dodgy election in Philadelphia or Chicago.
Shouldn't be a joke in this country, Mike.
People died.
For us to have free elections.
Fair elections.
And you're such a clown that you come on this show and say you haven't seen the video of the suitcases of ballots.
Grow up, man.
Grow up.
Grow a pair.
And then you can call us back.
I'm Sebastian Gorka.
This is America First on the Salem Radio Network.
We all want to be healthy.
And it's about exercise.
It's about being sensible.
It's about eating the right things.
But does eating the right things have to mean that it's not tasty?
That you're sitting there in front of a bowl of kale?
No, it isn't.
There's an amazing new product.
It comes from Uprising Food.
And they're on a mission.
And their mission is to liberate all of you from a fundamentally broken food system that's just stealing our health.
The real devil in our health is the snowball effect of silent inflammation.
And Uprising Food have cracked the code on healthy bread.
Would you like to eat bread again?
You will not find bread that is this healthy, tastes this good.
It's fresh and it's good for you.
Their products cover paleo, clean keto, it's low carb, it's high fiber, and it tastes good!
All products are baked with real superfood ingredients.
Almonds, MCT oil, apple cider vinegar, egg whites, psyllium husk, and olive oil.
And I love it!
You've got to check it out.
It's prebiotic fiber and it's delicious with a patent-pending breakthrough in psyllium husk activation.
Go right now.
UprisingFu.com slash Gorka.
Do we have to play a car disclaimer on...
Oh, this is Chang.
If we have... I'm confused if it's not on the schedule.
Geoff?
Yes?
Anytime there's an inbound.
Okay.
I'll just dial him up now.
Yeah, in a minute.
For that, can you go to their website, Eric, to Uprising Food, and just put some images.
I want to have some images of the bread and their products, not just the logo.
You're not going to be able to get on it yet.
I've been trying to get on it just now.
The website doesn't work?
Because our Wi-Fi's not working.
It was an interesting ad though, I was checking it out for myself.
Oh yeah?
It was a good read.
By you.
Thank you.
It's good stuff, and it's so cute.
It's this little cube that arrives at your door, and inside is the... I thought it was the ingredients to bake.
It's actually this mini little bread loaf.
Really?
Yeah.
Okay, calling him now.
Alright, I'm gonna hit the card disclaimer in front of this, then.
And then we've got cry macho and relief here.
Then Mark's done.
Frank, can you hear us?
Frank, can you hear us?
Just a second there.
Just getting his camera set up.
I've had enough of this story.
I'm sorry.
It's tragic, but it's just too much.
And we know what happened at this point.
Yeah, we know what happened.
We know he's on the run.
Chris thinks he's committed suicide.
I don't think.
I think he's on the lam.
What do you think, Chet?
No, he's committed suicide.
You think so?
You do?
Absolutely.
They would have found him by now.
It's so hard to get away with that much attention, though.
Yeah, I mean, unless... What if he put a wig on?
Oh, what's the right script for today?
Hello, Gordon, can you hear us?
Yes, okay, we are about one minute out.
I've got the 20th.
We see you on camera.
I guess it's the same.
It should just say, be a difference at the bottom, whether it's this week or tomorrow or something.
I think that's the only difference between the scripts.
And we have Gordon on the line.
Gordon!
Hey, Sam, how are you?
Good, good, how goes it?
Fine, thank you.
When are you coming to the swamp?
We've got to get you in studio.
I would love to do that.
Let me ask the boss.
Okay, good.
I think they're coming.
Right, correct answer.
Okay, coming in with anything or no?
30 seconds.
No, I'm going to t-up cut 12.
All right.
And if you guys can mention my Twitter handle?
Absolutely.

It's in your chyron, and I will get it right this time.
Excellent.
All right.
All right, we have 15 seconds.

The only road home is through redemption.

He is the author of The Great US-China Tech War.
You can follow him on Twitter at Gordon G Chang.
Gordon, welcome back to America First.
Thank you so much, Seb.
I want to ask you a question that one of my fellow hosts on Salem, the great Jennifer Horne said, and it could apply to any aspect of the last nine months to health policy, the border, and especially foreign affairs.
And this is why I'm going to ask you with regards to China.
If you wanted, To undermine our relations, if you wanted to weaken America and make our enemies stronger, is there anything you'd do differently from what Biden has done in the last nine months?
Let's just let's just focus in on your area of profound expertise, China.
Is there anything you would do better apart from, I don't know, texting China our launch codes, Gordon?
Yeah, oh, that's probably what that's something that could be done that he hasn't done yet.
But clearly what he's done on China has been insufficient.
And even when he's done some good things, Seb, he's done them extremely poorly.
So for instance, I like the idea of this tripartite security arrangement among the UK, US and Australia.
Yes!
It's a good vision.
But the implementation was horrendous because now we have France withdrawing its ambassador from Washington.
You know, Biden ran on the campaign that he would actually improve our relations with our allies, that he would work with coalitions, that he would build this group against China.
But what he's done—and this has been across the board for those nine months—he's actually made our relations with our allies worse, with very few exceptions.
Yeah, it is shocking.
I mean, you've never been a president of the United States.
I haven't.
I can't be constitutionally because I wasn't born here.
I served in the White House.
But is there anybody above the age of 18 who realizes that when you're Making promises to our oldest ally like France, if you unilaterally break that promise, this is with regards to diesel submarines, and don't even tell them in advance that there will be consequences, it seems kind of obvious.
Am I missing something, Gordon?
You're not missing anything.
And you know, on this not consulting allies, I mean, He didn't return the phone calls from Boris Johnson, who wanted to plead with the United States to get its people out of Afghanistan.
Also, first day in office, Biden, who said, look, I want to consult with my allies, what he did was he cancelled Keystone XL pipeline, which really enraged the Canadians.
I mean, it takes a lot to get Ottawa mad at the United States, but Biden actually did it in the first hours in office.
You know, by his own standard of developing strong relations with our traditional friends and allies, Biden has failed.
I mean, he's just failed miserably.
Yeah, we only have a few minutes left with you.
Follow this man.

The book, it's a wonderful quick read.
It's a monograph, The Great US-China Tech War.
I just have to play one cut to you.
This is from six years ago when Mark Milley wasn't yet Chairman of the Joint Chiefs.
He was Chief of Staff of the Army and this was actually a NATO summit.
He was talking publicly in uniform and this must shock you.
Cut 12.
China is not an enemy.
I think that's important for people to clearly understand.
China is a rising power.
China has been a rising power since Deng Xiaoping in 1979.
China is not an enemy.
Gordon, you read what they say.
Does China think we are their enemy?
Well, they certainly do.
In 2019, People's Daily declared a, quote-unquote, people's war on the U.S.
I don't know how you get clearer than that.
Also, on the 29th of last month, People's Daily actually accused the U.S.
of, quote-unquote, barbaric acts.
And this was after a string of very vicious propaganda last month.
So China's laying the groundwork, basically justification to attack the U.S.
And you know, Milley needs to understand this.
He should stop calling General Li Jiaocheng and he should actually start defending the U.S.
because we could very well find ourselves at the sharp end of the stick from China in the very next days or so.
How does the Chinese equivalent of the general staff react when our Chairman of the Joint Chiefs allegedly, and he hasn't denied it, calls them up, calls up General Li's counterpart and says, don't worry if President Trump ever wants to attack China, I'll give you a heads up.
What does Beijing think of General Milley and the Pentagon, Gordon?
Well, the Chinese already thought that the U.S.
is in political disarray and in terminal decline, and Milley's phone call must have reinforced that notion, which makes the Chinese even more arrogant and more belligerent because they think that the U.S.
won't defend our traditional allies and friends.
So Milley made the world far less safe with that call, and he certainly made the U.S.
far less safe.

On the Wi-Fi.
Yeah.
Yeah, like, John's computer, my computer, the laptops, I mean.
I give up.
I thought I was gonna be like, what, what?
This has not been a problem in a long time, this one.
No.
It's normal to have it once a year.
Not once a week.
It happened earlier this year.
Not once a week, like the other stuff.
Alright.
Um, title for that one?
- Um. - Gordon could have done E by the way.
I know.
When you asked, I thought you were saying C, that's why.
No, but I have to play the deaf Uber driver.
Oh, oh, oh.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
40 seconds.

- General Emilias, we'll copy that. - Are we supposed to record this MyPillow?

Okay.
Before we get to Douglas, you know me, I like social media.
A little bit too much.
But sometimes you find something that It's just really important.
Speaks to the heart of what we are fighting for in America.
And this video is just a minute long.
It's one of those artifacts.
It's from an American woman.
Lovely lady, who's deaf.
Despite her deafness, she speaks very well.
She's overcome her deafness.
But she needs to see people's faces to read their lips, so she can actually understand what they're saying, because she can't hear.
She went, sadly, into a Dunkin' Donuts.
She's an Uber driver.
And they treated her in a way that nobody in America should be treated.
This is her story.
Cut 13.
I called this girl over, told her I was deaf, I have to read her lips.
She didn't take her mask off.
She goes to the manager, and I'm an Uber driver, so I got a ride, and I was like, hey, I have to order my drink, I have to go.
The manager comes over, and I could just tell by his body language, his face, he was going off.
I kept doing this, and I kept saying, I can't hear you, I can't hear you, I need to lip-read.
He refused to write anything down.
He refused to pull his mask down.
We're six feet apart through the plexiglass to the side.
I'm wearing my mask.
Like, what more do you want from us?
We struggled so much during this pandemic.
Enough is enough.
People don't believe I'm deaf and I could sense and feel from him that he couldn't believe me.
He didn't believe me.
He didn't believe I was deaf because I speak so well.
It's a blessing and a curse.
It has to stop.
I've had enough.
I've never been brought to tears by it like she has.
Because I'm not deaf.
But I refuse to wear a mask.
And I'm not going to get vaccinated.
You're gonna have to arrest me.
Cuff me.
Strap me down.
Stand up.
Stand up to the fascists.
No American should have to suffer like that.

Let me start by saying
There is way too many of us in this little room! - What are we doing?
They said this was outdoors!
It's not!
They lied to us!
We're in a hermetically sealed tent right now!
I would not have come to this!
Why is there a roof?
It's more important that we have three chandeliers than that we make sure we don't kill Eugene Levy tonight.
That is what has been decided.
This is insane.
I went from wiping my groceries to having Paul Bettany sneeze in my face.
That was of course Seth Rogen.
I think he's meant to be doing comedy but it's rather a superb commentary on the quote-unquote elite from the Emmys this weekend.
Let's get somebody to discuss what it all means in terms of the elite, how they see themselves.
And the rest of us plebs with our very special guest for America First One-on-One.
He is the author of superlative works like The Madness of Crowds.
He is Douglas Murray.
Douglas, welcome to One-on-One.
It's great to be with you.
Thank you for having me.
Let me just start.
I don't usually do this, but let me just start.
You don't need any of this, but let's see how large we can make your head.
When we had Calvin Robinson on, who's another truth-teller par excellence, just a couple of weeks ago, we always ask, you know, a kind of what to do question at the end.
And I asked, what kind of books do you recommend to our millions of listeners and viewers?
And he said, look, anything, anything out there that exemplifies discussions on truth and beauty, like Roger Scruton, All works by Douglas Murray.
So that's a kudos to you, Douglas.
Kudos to you.
Very kind of Carpenter to have said that.
So I want you to comment on that cut.
We're going to discuss the roles of the elite, the rise of new populist formulations.
But for those of our listeners and viewers who aren't familiar with you, who've been hiding under a rock for the last few decades, tell our listeners who Douglas Murray is and what your mission in life is.
Well, I'm a writer.
I've been a writer for 20 years.
I write books.
I write articles for all of the media in the UK and some in the US, and I regard it as being one of my self-appointed roles to try to cut through the nonsense of the era, to try to prick pomposities where they exist, to try to break through lies where they're told, to correct them.
I believe that that is a role of writers, one of the primary roles.
And for anyone who cares about this sort of thing, our era is an enormously interesting time to be working.
Because, of course, we live in a time where much of what is said in the media is grotesquely distorted and does not reflect the reality that we live in.
Campaigners are embedded in journalistic outfits and don't act as journalists or writers or thinkers.
We just act as campaigners.
And all of this makes the world unnecessarily complex for all of us.
It is furthermore the case, to my mind, that we live in an era where everything that has been good in our civilization, in Western civilization, is being derided and pulled down by people who are opposed to it.
And I'm not opposed to it.
I'm very much in favor of this civilization which has given birth not just to us, but to, I think, the greatest opportunities ever invented for human freedom and for human well-being.
And I don't want to see these things simply given up by people who don't realize their great good luck, our great good luck.
Let's cut straight to that puncturing of pomposities.
You heard that clip there with one of the members of the beautiful crowd, the elite as they see themselves, making a comment that really was less comedy than actual factual observation, that they're at this event celebrating themselves at the Emmys, It's already been criticized as an eminently white event.
They preach diversity but there was, I think, one person of color who won anything.
They're in a massive enclosed environment.
None of them are wearing masks except the poor people that pour their champagne.
Here's the big question.
Hypocrisy seems to know no ends, Douglas.
Why is there not a point at which the house of cards collapses in on itself?
As long as we have the Jeff Bezos of the world, the George Soros's, the Richard Branson's, will the market forces and the effect of common sense on the Western world simply be nugatory?
Well, I think that Almost everybody who is described as a comedian, particularly in American society, couldn't make anyone laugh, honestly.
I watch with great bemusement as the so-called comedians of American culture, particularly on the late night talk shows, they don't affect the corners of my mouth by a millimeter, certainly not upwards.
They can't rustle up any laughter from me.
And I don't think they can from very many people, actually.
Seth Rogen is just one example, but I mean, you know, people like John Oliver have just turned into very... They've turned from second-rate comedians into first-rate scolds.
They now just appear on air and on camera, and they tell off the people they think are the stupid people.
And they make ill-informed, half-baked political arguments.
And these people are called comedians.
There's nothing comic about them that they know of.
And I think that this is a good example of it.
What happened at the Emmys this week is very like what happened at the Met Gala last week.
We see this very ugly, ugly, divided society where a certain type of posturing figure.
I mean, we had the Met with prominent figures.
We don't need to name them, not just talking about taxing the rich, but calling for equal rights for women as if women don't have equal rights in American society.
And and there they are parading these, frankly, tired tropes.
And alongside them are the serving class, the servant class in the new America, who, among other things, have to obey the rules that the elite class don't have to obey.
So if you're lucky enough to be a so-called comedian, or one of the beautiful people, as you say, at the Emmys, or one of the elite at the Met Gala, you can swan in, you can have yourself photographed in your beautiful outfit, or multiple outfits,
And you don't have to mask, but the common people, as you say, serving the champagne or handing you your hors d'oeuvres at the Met Gala, they've got to mask up because the rules are for certain people and not for others.
And that's completely consistent with the worldview of these people.
But is there any limit to it?
At what point does this collapse upon itself?
Is this something that's perpetually self-sustaining, like a perpetual motion machine?
I mean, you are committed to pointing out that the Emperor is naked.
What is your expectation?
Is there any end to this hypocrisy?
I think there is.
Among other things, it's when, as you say, as you refer to the emperor's new clothes-like phenomenon, what's dangerous for this class of person is not people who dislike them.
It's people who see through them.
And frankly, we can all see through these people now.
They have become completely transparent.
We are at the point in the story where the boy who points out that the emperor has got no clothes on is beginning to be joined by the rest of the crowd.
That wasn't the case, as you know, even a few years ago, really.
The people who pointed out the Emperor had no clothes pretty much stood alone still in the crowd.
Yes.
But gradually we see the crowd joining in, quite rightly.
Not before time, might I add.
They've joined in with that.
You can see this, among other things, in viewing figures for some of the people I've just been talking about.
The people who can't raise a smile whilst claiming to be comedians.
Their viewing figures go through the floor unless they can find something new to invent and try to rile up their audiences on.
I think these people have had a long run.
They're going to hold on for as long as they can.
But there's no doubt in my mind that they're on the way out.
We're talking to Douglas Murray, the author of The Madness of Crowds and the Strange Death of Europe.
We have to discuss the question of COVID, the rise of critical race theory and what is being done on the other side of the pond to push back on the insanity.

Douglas, let's look at the last 18 months.
It is For me, really, the only issue that burns bright in terms of the relevance for all others, it really doesn't matter whether it's freedom of speech, the sanctity of life, the Second Amendment, freedom of the press, whatever the issue is, it is affected by... I see a Almost universal lack of courage.
The idea that the land of the G.I.s and the Doughboys and the land of the Tommies of World War II just genuflected at the altar of quote-unquote experts, shuttered themselves at home when they were healthy.
I'm not talking about the vulnerable parts of our society.
It makes one doubt the efficacy of Of the people the politicians are supposed to represent clawing back our freedoms.
What is your balance sheet for the last year and a half?
And how do things look on the other side of the Atlantic?
And how despondent are you when it comes to our response to the Covid fascists?
Well, my own view is that this has been like a scrambling device over our society.
You know, we already had enough complexity in our societies before Covid came along.
Covid came and it sort of added an extra scrambling layer in front of our vision.
Everything that political leaders wanted to achieve was suddenly smashed.
And we had this extra problem in front of us.
You know, President Trump had his agenda that he elected to fulfill.
And then Covid comes along and he has to shut down the world's most booming economy.
It's the same in country after country.
And, of course, as I never tire to point out, the only country in the world that came out of 2020 with projected growth was China.
So this was either deliberately or accidentally one of the most extraordinary WMD attacks in history.
The Chinese Communist Party, when it knew The world, it seems to me, among other things, has got distracted onto lots of other things.
that they shut down the commercial airlines internally in China and they allowed the planes to fly out.
So you can say they did it deliberately or you can say that they did it with some knowledge of what was happening, but this is at their door.
And the world, it seems to me among other things has got distracted onto lots of other things.
And I worry about this, I very much worry about it.
I worry that in America we have got, like in Britain and elsewhere, we've got distracted onto mask debates, for instance.
You know, exactly how many masks you should have on your face before you go for a run in Central Park sort of debates.
And these, to me, are a great distraction.
I think my own view on it is that people should be trusted more than they have been trusted in making decisions for themselves.
and their families about their own health.
That's very much my view that I'm deeply, deeply suspicious of government telling people what to do.
But I do think that they can give advice and then we choose what to do.
But what I worry in all of this has been going on has been that we have basically got distracted from the main issue.
And the main issue has been that China released the WMD virus across the globe It has smashed all of our economies, and we need to concentrate on that.
And when you see it in that light, it becomes a lot clearer.
But in the meantime, there's this fog in front of all of us.
And officials, elected and unelected, have not helped that.
I think that one of the additional things that needs to be said about this is that different countries have reacted in different ways, but they've all reacted similarly.
They've all every democratic government has reacted similarly, and they have all shut that down.
They all shut down their economies, at least for time.
They all had some form of lockdown.
And all of this means that we've had a sort of test.
And my view is that this is not the big virus.
This is a virus.
It's a real virus.
There are vulnerable people who can die from it.
But that is not what we have been told.
We have not been told an honest account of this.
And this is causing this scrambling device I just described to get infinitely worse.
For instance, the main issue in your in your possible lethality of the virus in your system is whether you have an underlying health condition, including whether you are very overweight.
Right.
Right.
And we have heard nothing from senior officials and health officials in the US government and outside it talking about that.
We've We've had no health campaign on obesity.
We've had no highlight of that which actually could have been quite useful.
There's all sorts of things we just haven't done.
So people have become more and more suspicious, and that's why I hear, as I'm sure you hear, all manner of crazy conspiracies about this.
Because unfortunately, many of our officials have simply not been honest with us.
When they have been honest, they've built dishonesty upon honesty.
So let's cut straight to that issue.
So you're absolutely right on what we should be looking at.
I learned this in the first few weeks in the White House when I came in to do counterterrorism.
But once I had the clearances and read all the intelligence, I realized the only real threat we face is China.
Everything else is manageable.
So we'll put that to one side for a second.
But let's deal with the rampant conspiracy theories that kind of kill critical thought on both sides of the aisle.
So what is it?
Given your very incisive, trenchant observations, what is your conclusion as to why the elites, why the quote-unquote experts are doing what they're doing?
Why are they focusing on the multiple masks and immunizing healthy children, which is sheer insanity?
Is it risk aversion?
Is it drunkenness with power?
I don't believe in the master conspiracy.
I far prefer Occam's Razor and mediocrity and stupidity and ignorance.
What is Douglas Murray's take on why they have behaved the way they have behaved in the halls of power?
Well, I think that you put your finger on it when you talk about, among other things, the fact that they want zero mortality figures or zero Covid.
I mean, we can see where that leads to in the most extreme example in the world, which is New Zealand.
New Zealand recently shut down the country again when there was one case of COVID.
It's unimaginable this could be the case.
New Zealand would once again shutter the economy because of one case of COVID.
By the way, you wouldn't want to be that guy, would you?
But this is what we also see very troublingly in Australia.
And my own view, as it has emerged over time, has been that this is not the correct approach.
But at the beginning, the governments all did something similar because we were trying to work out what this was, what this is.
We've known what it is for quite a long time now.
So we've known, among other things, that we're not going to just get rid of the virus and that we're going to have to live with it in some way, to some extent.
And what I think has happened, what certainly happened at the beginning, and this is a generous interpretation, perhaps, but I think it's correct, is that the governments didn't want to have a higher mortality figure than any of their neighbors.
They didn't want to have been held up as being too reckless with the general public's health.
So there was no there was no disincentive not to do the hardest things on the box, you know.
There was nothing to put them off saying to people, don't leave your homes, or don't do business, don't go out, and so on.
And over time, of course, we did get to more sensible policies.
And by the way, the USA has been, I think, the world leader in this and there's a very good reason, which is simply the makeup of the country.
God bless America for having state rights.
Absolutely.
You and I know, don't we?
If you look across Europe, for instance, everybody in France has to do what the French government tells you.
Everybody in the Czech Republic has to do what the government tells them.
Germany, France, elsewhere.
Thank goodness that in America you can choose where to be.
You can move around if you've got the ability to do so and the flexibility to do so and you can go to a place which encourages you to live life as you would like to live it.
And that is a massive advantage that this country has and it shouldn't be ignored that.
No, it is, you know, the Founding Fathers were geniuses because having a republic of states bakes in the principle of subsidiarity, that one should solve a problem closest to the people where the problem occurs, and that is not possible in states with unitary systems of power like France.
Absolutely.
And by the way, there's a very clear example I had of that last year when I was traveling around the US ahead of the election.
I went straight from Seattle where I was covering what remained of the, you remember, the semi-autonomous zone that Antifa set up, having gone to visit Antifa in Portland.
I went from Portland and Seattle, which were two wastelands, to cover then next a Trump rally in Pensacola, Florida.
And I can tell you, this was not just like moving between different states, but moving between different planets.
Yeah, it was like Kandahar to Paris, I'm sure.

Let's get him over the edge today by the end of this interview.
He's Douglas K. Murray on Twitter, the author of The Madness of Crowds and The Strange Death of Europe.
Please check out his website as well, douglasmurray.net.
To quote Douglas, I think it was Lenin, yes, it was Lenin, with his famous question, his infamous question, what is to be done?
In addition to everybody buying and reading your books, what is to be done?
We focus the light, let's put China to a side for one second.
We need Donald Trump, my old boss, back in the White House.
He will run, I guarantee you he's going to run, and then he'll declare trade war on China again.
You know, we'll be back to securing the border and crushing the jihadis, unlike the last nine months.
But what is to be done for the readers of your books, parents, people who believe in the Western tradition, who believe in objective truth, beauty?
What is the thing that has to happen now?
We don't want to rely upon our leaders.
So let's have a very short to-do list for everyone listening to this show, Douglas.
Well, I can give you, I can't give you an entire list, but I can give you a good example, and that's something that's been happening at American school boards in recent months.
I wrote in the Mags of Crowds a book about what we now know as CRT, critical race theory, this horrible, horrible invention of a few total frauds at a few American universities in recent decades.
That's now being spilt out, not just across the school sector, but across the public and private sectors in the US.
One of the things that I hoped, and I said in the Madness of Crowds, I hoped would happen would be that people wouldn't rely on other people to be the firefighter, but to realize that everybody is the firefighter themselves.
Everybody has the chance in their own lives somewhere to make the necessary difference.
And parents across America, and I've said this a number of times on Fox recently, Parents across America have been standing up at school, board meeting after school, board meeting in state after state, and saying, you are not getting away with this.
You are not teaching our children this rancid set of Marxist theories.
You're not doing it.
And I give that as an example of hopefulness, because very often people have grand explanations of exactly what we have to do or where we have to live.
And my belief, it's a conservative belief, it's a Burkean belief, is that it requires small platoons of people to make society.
And these small platoons in America have got going in recent months.
And they are making a difference.
And it is, to my mind, things like that that will not just provide an example, but will provide a way through and out for the American Republic in the years ahead.
I think you're absolutely right.
It is electrifying to watch these school board meetings and Americans taking back their country one municipality at a time.
And then seeing the school board directors shutting down debate, excluding the actual parents from the meetings, tells you exactly who they are.
You wrote, let's look at where you hail from, you wrote the first amazing book, The Strange Death of Europe.
What is The state of Europe today.
Is it moribund?
Is it twitching in the ER?
Give us the latest update, if you would.
Well, Europe has had a very rough 18 months like everywhere else.
And I mean, we're going to see, aren't we?
We're going to see what happens in the months to come economically.
You know, I've taken to saying to people who think that life is going to continue as normal and that the economy is going to continue as normal.
I say, well, that's fine, but just don't look down.
Because beneath us, beneath us all on this is a heck of a chasm.
You know, borrowing at record highs.
Never, never has there been a government borrowing like this in peacetime.
Record spending, record GDP contraction.
And we, on the way out of this across Europe, like in America, we can't just stagger through this.
I'm stunned by people who think But we can just sort of return to February 2020 and that will be fine.
It won't be.
And the economies of Europe are in real trouble.
Now, of course, there's all sorts of other tensions.
What I wrote about in Strange Death of Europe primarily was the issue of immigration.
It's highly relevant to the American context, as to the Australian context and elsewhere.
But the main thing I argue about the strange death of Europe is that if you bring in people at a record rate, continuously, you cannot hope to integrate them into your society.
And so your society becomes something else.
Now, in 2015, the migration crisis that I was talking about there saw more than a million people walk into Europe.
And what we see now, and I've written about this recently in several publications, is that there is a likelihood of another surge coming Europe's way, not least because of the absolute debacle of the Afghan withdrawal by the American president, President Biden.
This, I think, is going to trigger a refugee surge.
There will be some people who are honestly Afghans, honestly fleeing.
There will be many people behind them who are simply looking for a better quality of life.
Many people behind them who will be pretending to be from Afghanistan and will not be.
There will be the likelihood of a trigger as there was with Syrian migrants in 2015.
And I hope very much that European leaders have learned the lessons of 2015.
But the general trajectory of Europe remains as I laid it out in that book, which is essentially The continent is becoming somewhere else because of the inability of the political elites to deal with immigration, which is one of the hardest issues in the world to deal with, but one of the most important, because your country is made up by the people who are in it.
And if you have, you know, a majority of one type of person in the country, you'll have one type of society, a majority of another type and you'll have a different type of society.
But our political leaders across the West, I would argue, have been very bad at acknowledging this in recent years and have pretended that the moment you walk into a country, you immediately become not just legally a citizen of the passport holder of that country, but completely part of that country in a cultural way.
And I suggest that, yes, that does happen.
But there's much more to it than that.
You could walk across the southern border into the United States and you might indeed become a legal citizen at some point, but will you know the values of the society that you are going into?
Will you know the history of it?
Will you defend the history of it?
Many people will, and many people will not.
And in Europe it is the case, as I lay out in remorseless detail in The Strange Death of Europe, it is the case that the continent has not even bothered to try to integrate people seriously, and so it becomes a different place.
Yeah, there is, of course, the philosophical impediment that if you don't believe in what the country represents, you're not going to want to integrate those new arrivals into that culture.
You're going to want to dismantle it first.
And I think that that's even subconsciously part of what we're seeing in terms of open borders on either side of the Atlantic.

Douglas, two big questions left for me.
Number one, you're a tad younger than I am.
I believe the demographic of the people who follow you is probably younger than those that listen to my daily radio show or my TV show.
What is your estimation when we look at the indoctrination of the Millennials?
I have a sense that it's shocking when you read the statistics, YouGov, etc., that more than 60% of American Millennials would prefer to live in a socialist or communist America.
However, there is a positive aspect, I believe, that the level of indoctrination of the youth is rather shallow.
This isn't the indoctrination of, you know, a Soviet Union or a Warsaw Pact, therefore it can be punctured rather rapidly.
Is that what you see as well or do you think it's deeper than that?
That's what I see as well.
I think that there is a shallowness which is actually starting to pass.
My own experience, certainly when you can still do live events before the virus came about, my own experience was that the smarter young people coming up behind the millennials were much, much more receptive to sensible arguments about this.
We sort of effectively maxed out on the indoctrination among the millennials.
And there's quite a lot of obvious reasons for that.
One is most young people don't want to just be told what to do and follow a boring set of prescriptions of how to behave, what to say exactly, what to do, what pronouns to use, what pronouns not to use.
They don't, you know, they recognize that being young is about a lot more than that.
Being free is about a lot more than that.
So these, I think of the sort of woke karate as like a Puritan sect, you know, one of the less attractive Puritan sects.
And it went around the land hitting people over the head, metaphorically and sometimes actually, to tell them to come in line with their own particular dogmas.
And of course, smarter, younger people coming up underneath them don't want to have any part in that.
They don't want to be scolded all the time.
They don't want to be told what to do.
Why the hell should they?
They want to be able to discuss ideas.
They want to try things out.
They want to make mistakes.
I mean, remember that, as you say, I mean, we're not far away in age.
And I think when we were young, we were able to make mistakes.
You try things out when you're young.
That's one of the points.
You know, you grow up.
And you learn.
You learn.
And the millennial, so the woke generation view was that You make a mistake once and if the world can discover it then it can pulverize you and you can be destroyed for the rest of your life.
It's no life.
It's no life.
It's a deeply, among other things, it's a deeply unchristian point of view.
It has no room at all for forgiveness, as I point out in The Madness of Crowds.
It doesn't even bother itself with the question of forgiveness.
It's a remorseless, unforgiving, puritanical, joyless worldview.
And people coming up under it have recognized that.
Now, it'll be very interesting to see what happens in the months and years ahead.
But my sense is that something has turned, a corner has turned on this.
And we'll see.
But we need to make sure that we concentrate on institutions in particular.
And institutions are what I'm worried about in America.
I'm deeply worried.
We all know the problems of the institutions of the mainstream media.
But there is, as you well know, Sebastian, there is institution after institution in the US that has been taken over effectively by cabals of its enemies.
And this needs serious attention, because one of the things that I think has massively spurred distrust in general in American life in recent years has been our, the public's discovery repeatedly
that the institutions that claim to represent the public at multiple levels seem to oppose the public, seem not to be on the general public side, actually don't seem to like the country very much, don't like its history very much.
And as you said earlier in relation to the immigration debate, that throws up this crucial oddity.
Why would anyone want to integrate into a country that seems to think that it itself is the worst country in the world?
There's no sense in it.
And one of the things I would say is trust your eyes on this.
Trust the evidence.
People's feet still carry them to America.
Yeah.
Overwhelmingly.
The polls just carried out once again this year where most of the world wants to move to.
What is the number one desired destination?
The United States of America.
I'm very glad to say that Great Britain is not far behind.
But this is something of which we should be proud.
And there is something so odd.
that the world wants to move to countries that are in the process of beating themselves up, of saying terrible things about themselves, of portraying themselves in a wholly negative light.
Listen to America's ambassador to the UN, Linda Thomas-Greenfield, and she tells the UN General Assembly the other month that America has been racist since its birth.
If it was the case that America was a racist country, Linda Thomas-Greenfield would not be at the United Nations.
The world would not want to come to America first and foremost.
So people should trust their own eyes and their own experience and remember, we're being told lies about the country and we don't need to believe them.
You've mentioned the role of institutions.
One you haven't included is, it's weird to think of it as an institution since it started off as a business, but it is perhaps the most powerful institution in the world today, and that's social media.
Can those who believe in the nation-state in Judeo-Christian values that the West is the greatest culture the world has ever seen.
Can we win, Douglas Murray, if social media is on the side of the iconoclasts who wish to tear everything down?
It's absolutely the most important question and we're going to have to see.
We're going to have to see.
Maybe we can and maybe we can't.
The might of the social media companies is extraordinary.
We know that if this had happened in the 1980s, these companies would have been broken up long ago by monopolies and mergers commissions and much more.
With the old media, if you wanted to buy another paper and you already owned a paper, you had to go through an awful lot of Hoops and jumps to get the right to do that.
With the new media, you can basically own not just what everyone is allowed to say, but what they're allowed to think and to know.
And no one took an interest in it.
And we were late.
Everyone was late to the game on this.
But the social media companies have far too much power.
They don't know what to do with it.
To steal a quote from one of my favorite authors, Evelyn Waugh, watching the social media companies talking about free speech is like watching a very delicate and ancient vase in the hands of a chimpanzee.
They have no idea what they're talking about and they stumble around and they fumble and they look as if they don't care if they smash the whole damn thing.
And so these companies are not fit for purpose.
My own hope is that the authorities crack down on them.
I hope that does happen, because they cannot do what they claim to want to do.
You and I know, and all of our listeners today know, experiences of the new media claiming that things are true that are completely untrue, and claiming that things are lies which we know to be true.
And this has caused and will continue to cause incredible anxiety and angst across the world until such a time as the social media companies have this extreme power wrestled from their hands.
It is not, in my view, within Facebook or Twitter's ability To decide or to have the right to decide what you or I or anyone else in the world can know.
It's not their job.
They're not fit to perform that job.
And it's not just audacious but disgraceful that they were ever allowed to try it.
Indeed, and it is the most burning issue facing us right now.
We're talking to the author of The Madness of Crowds and the Strange Death of Europe.

Douglas, let me finish by asking you this.
There are very few thought leaders today and especially amongst the political community.
You're one of those thought leaders and God bless you for your courage.
One of the other ones who's having a tremendous impact is Jordan Peterson and we've I think we've had him on the show, or we're having him on the show.
He just sent me his latest book.
And I have an issue with Jordan Peterson.
Very bright guy.
Very brave for his stand against the Canadian government for bringing in these dictatorial fascistic language laws that he stood up to.
However, his image or his style, his métier, is very dark.
It focuses on the tragic, on the The dark reality of human existence.
And I wanted to ask you, are you an optimist by nature?
Most Americans are, by dint of how our nation was born.
Where does Douglas sit in the pantheon of dark and light and optimist and pessimist?
Well, that's a very difficult question to answer and it varies hour by hour.
I don't think that any of us have that extreme and either optimism or pessimism gene within us.
You can certainly, the evidence shows that you can vary in your life.
But the most important thing is what happens to you in your life.
People, it's much more easy to be optimistic if the world has been kind to you.
And if it hasn't been, then it's much easier to fall into very dark places.
But this isn't just – and this is one of the things that Jordan does argue – this isn't just in the world's gift, it's in your gift to affect it as well.
I often give the example of, what do you do with your luck?
You can see the situation of people living in America today, and you can say, for instance, Oh, there's inequality and there's unfairness and there are some people who don't have what they want and what they need.
And you can come to the conclusion that you're living in the worst country in the world.
Or you can open the window and just look at the whole miracle of the thing.
I mean, the fact that we're here.
I mean, this varies from person to person, depending on your life experience.
And I would say that.
There are many reasons and many places in the world where you can look out and feel very bleak about things.
But if you are in a society which genuinely allows people to flourish, then I think optimism is inevitably going to be more your stance than it would otherwise.
Now, what we all worry about in America today is obvious.
We worry, as we do across the whole Western world, about whether or not if you labor hard at what you're good at, you will be rewarded.
And it was the deal in recent generations that you were.
And many of us have felt in recent years that that's changed and that effectively something's missing.
You know, people work really hard and they don't get what they thought they were going to get out of it.
And this curdles people.
It ruins people.
It makes people depressed.
It makes people feel isolated and alone.
And I want us really across left and right.
I think there are issues that we can solve, but we can only solve them if we look at them honestly.
And honestly, in America today, we have to find the solutions to the things we're commonly worried about and answer those things because they can be answered.
You know, America put a man on the moon first.
So we can solve things like the terrible homelessness that exists in American cities.
Mainly it has to be said in Democrat states.
We can solve these problems and we can be optimistic about the future if we think the future is going to give us what we want and what we hope for.
The reason why people are pessimistic is because they think they will not be rewarded after they've worked hard.
Yes, and optimism is a natural default if you believe you're a master of your own destiny.
If you believe you're a victim, forever to be victimized, and of course you're going to be a pessimist.
Thank you for that clarification.
Last question, what is the most significant things our listeners and viewers can do, according to Douglas Murray, starting today that will make a difference?
Where should they begin if they're as concerned as we are, Douglas?
My suggestion is always to start local.
There are far too many people who think that their role in life is to change something at a level they cannot change things at.
You know, you can't change Joe Biden's mind on something.
Only he can change his mind, and I don't even know if that's possible at this stage.
But the point is that there are too many people who think they can reach things that are just beyond reach, and we're all guilty of it to some extent.
And the thing that's always more achievable is the thing in front of you.
There's a wonderful character in one of Dickens' novels, in Bleak House, and she's a great example of the 21st century type we know that Dickens is writing about in the 19th century.
And Mrs. Jeleby is first encountered raising money for an obscure tribe somewhere in Africa.
And when we first meet her, one of her 12 or so children has his head stuck in the railings outside the house, and she doesn't have time to even notice him, let alone remove his head from the railings.
I give this as an example because this is a perennial human type, and in our age we've fallen into this in disproportionate numbers.
But whether or not we can affect things at a high level, we can all affect the things near us to some great extent.
Whether it's a school board, whether it's talking to family members and friends, or much more.
There are things we can all do at an immediate level.
And that's where differences are made.
Because if enough people do that, then you have a movement.
Thank you for taking me back in a time machine almost 40 years to when I had to read Bleak House in school in West London.
You've been a superlative guest.
