Get Off My Lawn - Gavin McInnes - GOML LIVE #178 - ACAB Aired: 2023-01-13 Duration: 04:53 === Archetypal Zambian Rock Band (02:23) === [00:00:25] get some places I meet some girls I gotta say it Hi baby Hi baby Hi baby I hate it. [00:00:51] I don't think that takes any explaining. [00:00:53] It is clearly your archetypal run-of-the-mill 70s Zambian rock band, right? [00:01:03] I mean, come on. [00:01:04] We're all familiar with Zambian funk rock. [00:01:07] Who isn't? [00:01:08] I am. [00:01:09] Donald Duff. [00:01:10] Sylvia, what's your favorite Zambian rock band from the 70s? [00:01:15] I like rock and rock. [00:01:17] Oh, you got to talk into the mic there. [00:01:19] Got the mic? [00:01:21] Have you got a microphone? [00:01:23] You got tostitos out the west. [00:01:28] I like the Beatles. [00:01:30] Yeah, they weren't Zambian, were they? [00:01:32] I thought they're from Liverpool. [00:01:34] They were from Liverpool. [00:01:35] Maddie O'Dell, favorite Zambian family rock band. [00:01:39] I must say, I don't know any. [00:01:42] You pretend to be a music expert. [00:01:44] Main Navy. [00:01:45] Main Navy. [00:01:46] As soon as it's time to really put the pedal to the metal. [00:01:49] Fell flat. [00:01:50] To pull the rubber on the road. [00:01:52] No idea. [00:01:53] No idea. [00:01:54] I don't even know where the fuck Zambia is. [00:01:56] What is Zambia? [00:01:58] I have no idea. [00:01:59] I'm always amazed when anyone, anything in Africa works. [00:02:04] Like, I guess this is racist, but when there's a building in Kenya, like a skyscraper, I'm like, who the fuck? [00:02:10] How the, who did that? [00:02:12] Who made that for you? [00:02:14] I went out with Jomo Kenyetta's son. [00:02:17] Who's Jomo Kenyetta? [00:02:19] Oh, my God. [00:02:20] From the Mau Mau uprising. [00:02:22] Oh, we're getting into like all those late 60s, early 70s revolutionaries like AIM and the Black Panthers and everything, right? [00:02:32] No, he was nothing like the Black Panthers. === 20 Years Together (02:20) === [00:02:35] He was against the British. [00:02:37] He became president. [00:02:39] Sorry, Mau Mau uprising. [00:02:41] We're talking about Africa now. [00:02:42] That is Africa. [00:02:43] Can you wake up and smell the cocaine, Gavin? [00:02:50] What's that strange sound we have clipping away? [00:02:52] I'm coming out of the speaker. [00:02:53] I don't know why I'm coming out. [00:02:55] Okay. [00:02:56] We didn't do much preparing, I guess, before we started the show. [00:03:00] We have Tim Dickman, as usual, and his partner, Neil. [00:03:04] Now, I know you homophobes jump to homosexuality when we say partner. [00:03:09] It's also a police term. [00:03:11] You guys were together as friends for, what, 20 years? [00:03:16] 20 years. [00:03:16] 20 plus, yeah. [00:03:20] 20 plus years, yes. [00:03:21] So there's only one mic for the three of them? [00:03:23] No, I'm fixing that right now. [00:03:25] Tim has a little doohickey? [00:03:27] Yeah, I got a little doohico. [00:03:29] You guys ever shoot anyone? [00:03:31] No. [00:03:32] Were you ever shot at? [00:03:34] No. [00:03:35] So state troopers, pretty easy job, isn't it? [00:03:38] It's just drunks and speeders. [00:03:40] Well, you know, a lot of the situations you get in are, you know, how you present yourself. [00:03:45] You may deflect some things, you may de-escalate some things right away that, you know, you never know what could have happened. [00:03:51] You know, we got plenty of guns off the street, plenty of bad guys. [00:03:55] Do you think Derek Chauvin could have de-escalated that situation better? [00:04:01] Yeah. [00:04:03] I think the confrontation between him and George Floyd was pretty routine up until the point. [00:04:10] He looked up and people were videotaping him while he was kneeling on his back and he was overdosing from fentanyl. [00:04:15] He could have de-escalated it by just pretending to care that he didn't overdose and got him out of it. [00:04:21] It shows me that police work is contingent on who's filming and how the media will run with it. [00:04:27] Exactly. [00:04:30] So what should be his punishment? [00:04:31] You're the judge. [00:04:34] Mark Chauvin's punishment. [00:04:37] Departmental. [00:04:38] You know, maybe suspended for a couple days. [00:04:41] I mean, people die. [00:04:44] Wow. [00:04:45] People die in police custody all the time. [00:04:47] That's my point. [00:04:49] I think George Floyd was going to die that day, whether he was kneeling on his back or not.
