Gishgallop Girl - Update, re: Kimmel, Kirk, Censorship Aired: 2025-09-19 Duration: 10:45 === Crazy Personal Reconfigure (03:03) === [00:00:01] Okay, hello everybody. [00:00:02] You'll notice this is another short one. [00:00:05] I've been putting these up lately just as little updates. [00:00:08] Normally, as most of you know, we would have done an episode by now for what will be episode 39. [00:00:18] That will likely be next week. [00:00:24] So the reason why we don't have one this week, and for one thing, I want to remind everybody, no one pays for this but me. [00:00:33] You know, this is a free show that we do not run any ads on. [00:00:36] No Patreon as yet again. [00:00:39] Yada yada. [00:00:41] I am the only person that really does the hard work and the heavy lifting on the show. [00:00:48] So all of that being said, I have had a wild ass two weeks that have nothing to do whatsoever with what's been going on in the world. [00:01:00] You know, the Charlie Kirk shooting, not my bag doesn't affect me. [00:01:07] The Jimmy Kimmel firing, again, not in my bag doesn't affect me. [00:01:13] You know, I haven't dealt with anything personally out of those things aside from, of course, noticing them and, you know, putting in my two cents on Blue Sky and Mastodon and wherever else. [00:01:27] So yeah, I'm not really, I'm not really into any of the noise surrounding all that shit, is what I'm saying. [00:01:36] But we've had a really hectic two weeks at home over the last couple of weeks. [00:01:42] And I have not had the time to devote to actually getting into the nitty-gritty on this next episode. [00:01:53] Aside from I have done some work on it, but I haven't done nearly what is required to my standards anyway for an episode. [00:02:03] So we're not doing one this week. [00:02:05] There will be one likely next week, you know, by next Friday, likely, if I can manage to get everything together. [00:02:15] Things have been crazy in our personal lives, and we've had to really like postpone and step back and reconfigure a bunch of shit. [00:02:26] So, you know, I just, I felt, I do feel a personal responsibility to let our regular listeners know that we're not doing another hiatus. [00:02:37] That's not what's going on. [00:02:39] I'm not personally worried about my, you know, our personal safety or security or anything like that. [00:02:46] You know, especially not with this fucking FBI. === Not Concerned About Crackdown (07:11) === [00:02:51] I mean, come on. [00:02:52] The FBI did not catch Charlie Kirk's shooter. [00:02:57] He turned himself in. [00:03:01] You know, for when you get right down to it, he turned himself in. [00:03:06] They were going, they were going nowhere with their bureau work. [00:03:12] So, yeah, I'm not really that. [00:03:16] I'm not that concerned about anything. [00:03:19] I'm not concerned right now about having to do more against the, you know, the crackdown that they're trying to put on people for saying bad shit about someone who was a truly horrible person. [00:03:33] You know, Charlie Kirk, yeah, I threw up some Simpsons memes where I was like, haha, you know, he's dead. [00:03:38] I used a Krusty the Clown thing for that. [00:03:42] I went over to frankieak.com and made that happen. [00:03:47] But I don't really, you know, I watched the, look, I watched the shooting death of Charlie Kirk until I got bored of watching it. [00:03:58] Not that I was dancing on his grave so much. [00:04:01] I was just trying to figure out like, man, could anyone even survive that? [00:04:04] No, I don't think so. [00:04:06] You know, it was, and plus, I'd never really seen something quite like that. [00:04:12] You know, I mean, he, I don't think he would have survived that if he had been shot in front of a hospital. [00:04:20] Like, there was just so much blood loss. [00:04:22] It was crazy. [00:04:24] So, yeah, I, you know, I don't, I don't feel like that's the way to go. [00:04:31] You know, but at the same time, as little bits of information trickle out on the shooter and his personal life and stuff, I think, again, just like with the, just like with the attempt on Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania. [00:04:52] Yes, I am driving right now as I record this. [00:04:54] Just like I think on the attempt on Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania, I believe that what happened with that was also an attempt with an opportunity. [00:05:13] I think had this guy not turned himself in, I don't know if his father and his grandfather would have done it because clearly they recognized the gun that was used. [00:05:25] You know, I think if he had gotten away, I think if the gun had, if he had gotten away with the rifle and managed to keep his mouth shut, I don't think it would have been found. [00:05:37] I think there would have been a lot more gas given to people like Candace Owens who were spouting off that, you know, like, I mean, Charlie Kirk's body was barely even cold. [00:05:48] And she was repeating conspiracy theories people were putting up about a plane that landed nearby that was only there for a private jet that was only there for a couple of hours and then took off again shortly after the killing with no other context behind it, you know, or very little context behind it. [00:06:10] People were already spinning up conspiracy theories about it being a professional hit and all this other stuff. [00:06:16] And Candace, I have not checked into her content over the last couple of days. [00:06:21] I feel I'm going to have to, I mean, of course, I'm going to have to go and listen to it because that's what I do. [00:06:28] But I really want to, I really wanted to give her a little bit of space before I did that because, again, this is still a shocking event. [00:06:37] You know, I'm not personally concerned for myself or my family. [00:06:43] I don't really, you know, I'm not really concerned about that. [00:06:47] I'm not concerned about like the cancel culture police on the alt hike coming for me or us. [00:06:54] I don't, you know, that I've done enough. [00:06:58] I did enough work in the background before we ever started recording the show that I'm not worried about being outed right now or in the future much. [00:07:10] There are always ways to get around, you know, the system as it is. [00:07:17] So I do feel a little more vindicated because at first I was like, well, you know, we could maybe come back in December with a Patreon. [00:07:26] And, you know, then I start seeing all this stuff going down and all of these people clearly joyful that they can now go after people for making a joke about Charlie Kirk's death or about Trump in relation to Charlie Kirk's death as what happened with Jimmy Kimmel. [00:07:47] You know, Kimmel is not my favorite entertainer by far, but he didn't say anything out of hand, really. [00:07:57] I watched the clip and it's available in various places. [00:08:00] I'm not going to link to it here. [00:08:02] I'm just going to record this and put it up. [00:08:04] But Kimmel didn't do anything wrong. [00:08:08] What he said about Trump, about Trump in regards to Charlie Kirk, was pretty tame, even by like Charlie Kirk's own standards. [00:08:20] So, you know, it's clearly just, I think the main theory that a lot of people have is that Kimmel was let go and the network was really looking for any reason to do it. [00:08:34] Not because ABC necessarily wanted to do that, but because there's a, you know, there's some sort of big-ass merger going on with some ABC stations. [00:08:49] That's basically it. [00:08:50] I mean, other places have done more and better coverage on it than I would ever attempt to. [00:08:56] So, you know, I just, I mean, if you're going to look that up, just, you know, search for, you know, Jimmy Kimmel, ABC merger, Nexstar. [00:09:03] I know is one of the companies involved. [00:09:05] I think it's Nexstar in Sinclair. [00:09:08] So that's basically it. [00:09:09] I really, I don't have any dog in that fight aside from, you know, Kimmel's an entertainer. [00:09:17] He's a guy with his own show, etc. [00:09:20] And that show employs a couple hundred people. [00:09:22] Hopefully they can, you know, move on and get jobs. [00:09:26] But yeah, as far as we are concerned, as far as me and my son are concerned, we're doing fine. [00:09:35] It's just, it's been a heavy two weeks for us. [00:09:39] And I did not have the time to really get into the dirt on the show as I would like to have done. === Focus On Next Episode (00:58) === [00:09:48] So I will be trying to focus some more time on doing that over this next week so that we can put out an episode anywhere between next Wednesday to next Friday. [00:09:59] Probably Friday. [00:10:02] But yeah, I mean, it is what it is. [00:10:04] Everyone, please stay safe. [00:10:08] Watch what you say online. [00:10:10] Unless you have your own, you know, alt account that you use for shit. [00:10:16] And then just go buck wild. [00:10:18] I guess. [00:10:20] You know, be a fucking American. [00:10:24] That's it. [00:10:25] I wish everybody the best. [00:10:26] And hopefully the next time that you hear from me, it will be on episode 39 of our show, which is based on episode 13 of A Shot in the Dark. [00:10:40] Yep. [00:10:41] Yep. [00:10:41] We are still in that fucking noise. [00:10:44] All right, everybody. [00:10:44] That's it.
