[00:03:49] Justin Barkley in for Glenn today, my last day filling in. [00:03:52] And I just tell you, I am tremendously honored every time I get the chance to sit in Glenn's seat and be here with you. [00:03:59] This audience is the smartest, the boldest, the bravest. [00:04:01] And I got to tell you, there is just none like it. [00:04:05] And I'm completely grateful for it. [00:04:08] And as I mentioned, these days, there's never a dull moment. [00:04:12] It's like drinking from a firehouse. [00:04:14] That's normally what I say these days. [00:04:15] But I really feel like this break has been it. [00:04:19] And it is one doozy of a year to wrap up too. [00:04:22] Now, I'm not going to probably be able to get to all the standard, you know, because this is usually what you do. [00:04:30] You fill in or you get these shows at the end of the day. [00:04:32] Hey, here's the year in the rear. [00:04:36] Well, wait a minute. [00:04:37] No, this is the year in the rearview mirror or the review. [00:04:42] This is the best. [00:04:43] They call it, kids are calling it the rap. [00:04:45] What is it? [00:04:45] The rap? [00:04:46] The rap now, the 2025 rap. [00:04:49] You get that on all your apps and stuff. [00:04:50] It'll show you, hey, here's what you listen to and all that. [00:04:52] Well, I just think there's too much of that to even cover. [00:04:56] Maybe we'll talk about some of the big, maybe the major milestones. [00:04:59] And the Trump presidency has been the second term, probably the biggest and the most massive. [00:05:08] Yet there were some big stories. [00:05:10] Maybe we'll be able to touch on some of that and look forward. [00:05:13] Also, predictions into 2026. [00:05:15] But I'm telling you, the news has been so prominent. [00:05:22] It has been so aggressive. [00:05:24] It's over the top. [00:05:26] As the kids say, it's doing too much these days. [00:05:28] It's too much. [00:05:30] But it is. [00:05:30] It really, it's been a wild, wild break. [00:05:36] And so when Glenn comes back, I can't imagine. [00:05:39] He's going to be just revitalized, ready to grow. [00:05:42] And I think that's Monday morning, full of fire and fury, but well-rested, tanned, and the rest of it. [00:05:49] So he'll be ready to go with you. [00:05:51] In the meantime, she just said it. [00:05:56] Trying to come back and talk about all the things that have happened during the break. [00:06:01] That's got to be a task in itself. [00:06:03] Carolyn Lutt just said it. [00:06:04] White House spokesperson over on Fox and Friends this morning, I believe, was the conversation about handcuffs and the folks involved with the Somali Pirate Front. [00:06:17] Governor Walls is completely incompetent. [00:06:19] He always has been. [00:06:20] And President Trump has long called him out for his incompetence and his poor leadership in the great state of Minnesota. [00:06:27] I want to commend Nick Shirley for his incredible video in real journalism that went viral this past week. [00:06:34] He epitomizes what new media looks like. [00:06:37] And that's exactly why we at the White House under President Trump's direction have embraced new media journalists like Nick Shirley. [00:06:44] We've welcomed them in to the White House press pool. [00:06:47] We invited Nick Shirley to brief the president of the United States. [00:06:50] You know, all of this is true. [00:06:51] We've never seen anything like it before. [00:06:52] I tell you, I've had invitations and gone to the White House and never had that opportunity before as a local radio host and a podcaster, etc. [00:07:01] I mean, they really have. [00:07:03] They've kind of taken this into a whole new, a whole new level. [00:07:07] And they're absolutely right. [00:07:08] And by the way, these are the folks that got elected. [00:07:10] If you think about it, President Trump gets elected with the strategy of going on. [00:07:17] Everything sort of shifted last year. [00:07:19] I had him on probably three, maybe four times. [00:07:22] And then everything shifted like mid of the year last year as they moved to the strategy of going on lots of streaming shows, podcasts, and things like that. [00:07:33] And the bigger, you know, the bigger shows. [00:07:36] So that was very successful because you end up on shows like Joe Rogan and Sean Ryan and obviously Glenn's show here and podcast forum sitting down long form conversation. [00:07:50] And they did. [00:07:50] They had some great conversation. [00:07:52] Access to the guy that nobody, you think Joe Biden was ever going to offer that access? [00:07:56] Kamala certainly was. [00:07:58] She couldn't even be bothered to fly out to go on Joe Rogan's show. [00:08:02] And thus that brought the young people, I think, right along with them. [00:08:07] Very, very upset about the way things are going, looking at somebody who can make some changes, and he has so far. [00:08:13] Again, I don't want to get too far off track here, but she makes that point. [00:08:18] Look at the impact. [00:08:19] You want to talk about 2025 year in a rear. [00:08:22] Well, take a look at the impact that new media, alternative media, has had. [00:08:31] I mean, is mainstream media dead? [00:08:33] It's a really good question. [00:08:35] I don't know that it's fully, but it's on life support. [00:08:38] People like Nick Shirley and of course X pushing this out, the platform, formerly Twitter, Elon Musk, having a big role in that as well. [00:08:47] Everything has changed. [00:08:48] What Elon said, you are the media now. [00:08:52] Big, big difference. [00:08:55] So her point is well taken. [00:08:57] United States at an Antifa roundtable earlier this year. [00:09:00] And this fraud in Governor Walsh's state in Minnesota is something the Trump administration has been working on since day one. [00:09:08] And since Nick Shirley's journalism really brought this issue further to light, we have surged resources across the board to the state. [00:09:15] So I want your audience to understand this is a top priority for the administration. [00:09:20] The Department of Justice, as we speak, is continuing to execute search warrants and subpoenas. [00:09:26] People will be in handcuffs as a result of the fraud that Governor Walls has allowed to occur for many, many years. [00:09:33] The Department of Homeland Security. [00:09:35] Wait a minute. [00:09:36] Roll it back. [00:09:37] People will be in handcuffs. [00:09:39] People will be in handcuffs. [00:09:41] Now, I understand because I get it. [00:09:44] Some of you chicken little sky is falling black pillars. [00:09:47] I get it. [00:09:48] I understand too. [00:09:49] I want to see accountability. [00:09:51] I want to see arrests. [00:09:53] I want to see all of that happen. [00:09:56] Is it happening at the speed that I'd like it to? [00:10:00] Probably not. [00:10:02] I will tell you, I'm a little more patient because I understand some of the things happening behind the scenes. [00:10:09] Some of it we're in the dark about, and I think that can add to the tension here. [00:10:15] But I am optimistic because I know what I know, and it's hard to explain this, but I'm also seeing some of the things that we would like to see happen behind the scenes. [00:10:27] One of the things I want to just tell you this because this hit me the other day. [00:10:31] You know, one of the big problems here with all of this is happening in the Senate where President Trump's judicial appointments and some of these appointments that have to get made. [00:10:43] You got to get some, is it possible? [00:10:45] You just walk down that road with me that you got to get some of these judges in place so that you can, when you do bring these cases through, that you've got good people to see them, to hear them. [00:11:01] That's why part of the problem with the Senate right now is essentially this whole business, the way they do things right now of not approving and then they have their own. [00:11:16] It's a corrupt system. [00:11:18] We just call it what it is. [00:11:19] It's corrupt and it's standing in the way of getting the progress made here in the country. [00:11:22] And that's one thing that will be a big spotlight. [00:11:26] I think there will be a big spotlight on that coming up in the new year. [00:11:30] But she said it. [00:11:32] There are going to be arrests made. [00:11:35] They are coming. [00:11:36] As a result of the fraud that Governor Walls has allowed to occur for many, many years. [00:11:41] The Department of Homeland Security is conducting door-to-door investigations on the ground at potential fraud sites. [00:11:48] And they are also, of course, conducting continued deportations of illegal aliens in Minnesota's communities. [00:11:55] We're also not afraid to use denaturalization. [00:11:57] That's a nut. [00:11:59] Boy, that's a whole nother ball of wax, isn't it? [00:12:02] Yeah, deportations, denaturalizations, any of these folks that were caught breaking the law being put, just send them back. [00:12:10] Well, they've been here for 20 years. [00:12:12] Send it, it doesn't matter. [00:12:13] Send them back. [00:12:14] Send them to jail. [00:12:15] Send them back. [00:12:18] Teeth is what we're talking about here, folks. [00:12:20] Teeth in what needs to occur. [00:12:25] We've got accountability. [00:12:26] It's coming through. [00:12:27] Meanwhile, there are calls for walls to step down. [00:12:31] We're going to talk about that coming up in the program as well from folks who are actually making that call. [00:12:37] Big news yesterday as well. [00:12:39] They've frozen all child care payments to the state of Minnesota, HHS, at the leadership of the president, of course, RFK Jr., the secretary there, Health and Human Services. [00:12:51] They've come together with a statement yesterday talking about this. [00:12:54] So in other words, the money stopped flowing until we get this business sorted out, folks. [00:12:59] Hello. [00:12:59] I'm HHS Deputy Secretary Jim O'Neill. [00:13:02] I'm here with Assistant Secretary Alex Adams. [00:13:04] Alex oversees the Administration for Children and Families. [00:13:08] Intrepid journalists have made shocking, incredible allegations of extensive fraud in Minnesota's child care programs. [00:13:14] We believe the state of Minnesota has allowed scammers and fake daycares to siphon millions of taxpayer dollars over the past decade. [00:13:22] Can you imagine the Somali pirate daycare? [00:13:24] Can you imagine this would have ever been a thing? [00:13:28] Fake cares is what I call them. [00:13:30] Fake daycares. [00:13:33] They normally send about $185 million in childcare phones to Minnesota annually. [00:13:38] They are cutting off the payments now. [00:13:40] These, by the way, these new rules are going into effect, looks like nationwide for some of these programs, for all ACF payments. [00:13:52] Now, this is massive because, and by the way, what are the new rules? [00:13:57] We'll talk about that here in a second, but this is massive because it's not just Minnesota. [00:14:04] And I've been making that clear. [00:14:05] I think we're just looking at the tip of the iceberg here. [00:14:08] It's not just Minnesota. [00:14:09] We've heard Ohio and Massachusetts. [00:14:12] I think Maine was mentioned the other day. [00:14:15] I think state after, there would be no state after it's all said and done with. [00:14:18] I think when you start to really turn over all of these stunts, there'll be no state that's left incorrupted, incorruptible. [00:14:27] Is that the word? [00:14:28] Is that what I'm looking at? [00:14:29] There'll be no state left without any of the shenanigans going on. [00:14:35] Unfortunately, I just think it's everywhere. [00:14:38] I think it's pervasive. [00:14:40] I think this is one of those situations that you're talking about just you've really just sort of barely, barely begun to scratch the surface of it all. [00:14:54] We'll talk more about that coming up this morning. [00:14:56] You'll join the program. [00:14:57] You can. [00:14:57] Love to hear from you. [00:14:58] Email me, justin atjustinbarklay.com, B-A-R-C-L-A-Y, justin atjustinbarklay.com, having some great conversations with folks over the last few days. [00:15:07] A chance to have those conversations and join in at Mr. Justin Barkley, all over social media, live from Grand Rapids, Michigan today, filling in for Glenn of the Glenbeck program back right after this 60 seconds. [00:15:21] The older I get, the more I think about trust. [00:15:23] I think about the people in my life who have my trust and earned my trust and the trust that I have placed in some people who I later learned abused that trust. [00:15:32] I know we're alike in that way. [00:15:34] We don't trust a lot of people anymore. [00:15:35] It's like we're all Ronald Reagan trust, but always verify to make sure we're not making a mistake. [00:15:41] I find it a little exhausting, quite honestly. [00:15:43] And that's why I started RealEstateAgentsITrust.com. [00:15:46] I didn't have good experiences with buying and selling my homes. [00:15:49] So we built Real Estate Agents I Trust to introduce you to one of the thousands of agents all over the country that we work with that we have verified that they will help you have the most successful and good real estate transaction possible. [00:16:03] Our network agents share our sensibilities, have great track records, are good and decent people, and I trust them to help you with your real estate needs. [00:16:12] So whether you're moving across town or across the country, visit realestateagentsitrust.com. [00:16:17] name says it all realestateagentsitrust.com finally you see this they finally fixed the sign the uh the quality leering center Or they're in the process of trying to fix it anyway. [00:16:40] They patched it up. [00:16:41] And this whole thing is just a laugh. === Why We Need Jail for This (04:56) === [00:16:45] Anyway, one of the daycares where there were no kids. [00:16:47] Now they claim the kids don't start coming in until 2, and then they leave eventually at 10. [00:16:52] And that's been a whole bone of contention because now, you know, Democrats and other folks in the meeting are out there saying, well, no, You got this all wrong. [00:17:02] In fact, you won't believe what Tim Walz is saying about the whole thing. [00:17:05] Well, you probably will. [00:17:07] He's calling it political. [00:17:08] And yeah, that's a whole nother. [00:17:12] We'll get into that coming up here in just a little bit. [00:17:14] But first, I want to give you the rest of the story as I say with this HHS announcement. [00:17:19] Big changes coming, not just for Minnesota, but for all states, really. [00:17:23] My office, ACF, provides Minnesota $185 million in child care funds each year. [00:17:29] That money should be helping 19,000 American children, including toddlers and infants. [00:17:34] Any dollar stolen by fraudsters is stolen from those children. [00:17:38] Yesterday, I spoke directly with the director of the Minnesota Child Care Services Office. [00:17:43] She could not tell me with confidence whether those allegations of fraud are isolated or whether there's fraud stretching statewide. [00:17:49] Well, I mean, come on. [00:17:52] Today, we've taken three direct actions against the blatant fraud that seems to be rampant in Minnesota. [00:17:58] First, I have activated our defend the spend system for all ACF child care payments across America. [00:18:05] Starting today, we require a justification receipt or photo evidence before we make a payment. [00:18:10] Wow. [00:18:11] That's now you I don't know about you, but you hear this and you're going to think to yourself, now, why? [00:18:18] This sounds pretty common sense. [00:18:20] Why weren't we doing that? [00:18:20] Do you know when Elon went in with Doge and was digging into everything? [00:18:24] They found all of this money, like federal money. [00:18:27] And once a spigot, we were leaking like the Titanic. [00:18:32] Once the spigot was turned on, they had no idea in some places why, where that money was supposed to be. [00:18:39] Even there's no way to even track it. [00:18:41] It was just turned on and these payments were just automatically going out monthly or quarterly or whatever it might be. [00:18:51] Stop the bleeding. [00:18:52] How do you even, how do you even, Doge tried to do some of it? [00:18:57] They've now given the opportunity to the administration really excuse to be able to do it here in every case. [00:19:03] Hey, prove, prove that this is legit and you'll get the money. [00:19:10] Second, I've just signed and sent a demand letter to Governor Walls. [00:19:14] I required a full 360 review of these centers. [00:19:18] This includes attendance records, licenses, complaints, investigations, and inspections. [00:19:22] And third, we've launched a dedicated fraud reporting hotline and email address at childcare.gov. [00:19:29] Whether you're a parent, a provider, a member of the public, we want to hear from you. [00:19:33] Let me be crystal clear. [00:19:34] ACF expects every state to uphold the highest standards of oversight, monitoring, and accountability for federal dollars. [00:19:41] I mean, that's just it. [00:19:42] There is and has been no oversight. [00:19:45] And you would say, how could they get away with this? [00:19:48] And I would tell you, this isn't the failed system. [00:19:52] This is the function of the system. [00:19:55] This is exactly how it is supposed to operate and the point of it this entire time. [00:20:02] That is why we are in the mess that we're in. [00:20:05] You have a class of people, the elites. [00:20:08] Now, this isn't completely altogether with Democrats. [00:20:16] I can tell you the difference between the two, but it's not one-sided altogether with the Democrats. [00:20:20] Republicans, deep staters on both sides have been involved with this. [00:20:24] And why I call it deep, well, it's just people that they make their living doing this. [00:20:28] All they do is suck the government teeth. [00:20:33] I mean, this is what they do. [00:20:35] They serve no other purpose. [00:20:37] They create nothing. [00:20:38] All they do is take. [00:20:39] They're takers. [00:20:39] That's it. [00:20:40] Now, I'm not talking about people all the way down at the bottom. [00:20:42] In some cases, there are those people too. [00:20:44] But what I'm talking about are the big fish, the whales. [00:20:48] These are the people that have embedded it. [00:20:51] They are leeches in the system. [00:20:52] They are ticks and they got to be cut off. [00:20:55] We do need to see people in jail for this. [00:20:58] That is the accountability. [00:20:59] As Carolyn Levitt has said, you will see handcuffs coming out of this. [00:21:03] It's on the way. [00:21:04] More on the story. [00:21:05] In fact, I would tell you there's some things that Tim Walz is saying himself I want to get into coming up in the program today, but also this. [00:21:14] What a story. [00:21:16] There is a reporter for Politico because one of the things has been interesting to watch about this isn't just the story itself. [00:21:23] It's that, yes, that is interesting. [00:21:25] Let's dig into it. [00:21:26] But the reaction of the story and the reaction of media to the story. [00:21:32] And one of the most interesting things I've seen is local media starting to pick up the ball and run with it. [00:21:36] They actually start to do their jobs. [00:21:38] Now, in some cases, you can't completely blame these people. === Local Media Finally Do Their Jobs (02:31) === [00:21:42] These people have been cut local television stations, newspapers all over the country because the business model just doesn't work anymore. [00:21:47] So they don't have as many people on the rolls. [00:21:51] They're doing the jobs that they should be. [00:21:52] These are the folks that should be doing the investigative journal. [00:21:55] All they do, really, at this point is they farm out everything that's already been done for the work that's already been done for them at the network level. [00:22:04] So they're starting to see that. [00:22:06] Another reaction, which I thought was just wild and evil altogether, is a reporter with Politico that was encouraging Somalis to shoot investigative reporters knocking on the doors of the daycare centers. [00:22:23] A story that's wild, almost unbelievable if you don't know who we're up against. [00:22:26] We'll get to that on the way on the Glenn Beck program. [00:22:30] This is Glenn Beck. [00:24:07] Premieres January 5th at Glennbeck.com. === Fake News vs. Real Reporting (12:04) === [00:24:13] Yeah, we were just talking about this off the air. [00:24:16] Apparently, black-eyed peas after the ball drops is the thing to ask me, did you do that? [00:24:22] Do you do that? [00:24:23] And BJ said he does it every year. [00:24:25] And I go, I can't know. [00:24:28] I can't even count on the amount. [00:24:30] Not a black-eyed pee guy. [00:24:32] I am a cornbread guy. [00:24:34] So usually when I've had the black-eyed piece, I've had the cornbread with it. [00:24:38] But it's just not something that we do. [00:24:40] Maybe that's because we're Yankees. [00:24:42] And is it only a southern thing? [00:24:45] I don't know. [00:24:46] You know, later on the show, we should open up and maybe we can hear from you. [00:24:50] And I mean, it's a good idea. [00:24:53] Maybe you could tell me, Justin at JustinBarkley.com or give us a call. [00:24:56] Let us know. [00:24:57] What do you, what is it? [00:25:00] Is it something that you're going to be doing? [00:25:01] Is there some sort of tradition or whatnot when the ball drops? [00:25:04] I don't, I'm not, I just, I very rarely make it to the ball drop. [00:25:09] I think I will this year, but I very rarely make it to the ball dropping anymore. [00:25:15] It's kind of like, I think to him, well, I've seen it all. [00:25:19] I've seen it. [00:25:19] It's kind of amateur night, and that's the way I look at it. [00:25:22] But at the end of the day, I don't really have a lot of, I don't have a lot of those superstitions and things that I do. [00:25:31] But I think it'll be an interesting, it is interesting to hear from you anyway. [00:25:36] All right, folks, I wanted to talk about, we were just talking about this story, and my good friend James Dixon is on with us right now. [00:25:44] In fact, he's got a show called the James Dixon Podcast. [00:25:47] He's written for numerous publications. [00:25:51] I won't even name them all, but most recently he's written for the folks in Detroit and the Detroit News. [00:25:56] And of course, done some things at the Boston Global. [00:25:59] He's been all over. [00:26:00] I think I heard you say the other day, your first piece in college was kind of a big deal for you that got you moving. [00:26:09] Hey, good morning, James. [00:26:10] Welcome in. [00:26:10] I appreciate you being here on the Glenbeck program. [00:26:13] Good morning, Justin. [00:26:14] It's great to hear your voice. [00:26:15] And yeah, it was a real blessing. [00:26:18] So this was February 2006. [00:26:20] I was a 22-year-old man, and to have the chance to have a story published in National Review was like every dream come true. [00:26:30] When a career is young, you need those moments of validation. [00:26:33] Heck, I'm 20 years older than that, and I still need moments of validation. [00:26:38] And when they come, you just remember them forever. [00:26:42] And yeah, so that was kind of the start of the journey, and here we are. [00:26:46] The reason I bring that up, James, is because there's a story, and I saw you comment about this on X, and I felt very similar. [00:26:55] But it just, this whole thing in Minnesota, in fact, everything that Trump does really exposes people for who they are, but particularly folks in the media. [00:27:05] And I know you've been very critical. [00:27:06] You've been very outspoken about it. [00:27:08] And somebody set this up to share that James is somebody that's been inside the belly of the beast. [00:27:13] He knows how the sausage is made. [00:27:15] We'll pull the curtain back for you and tell you about, in fact, has no problem doing that, tell you about who these people are and what they're doing. [00:27:23] But this story, to me, it should be a surprise, but it's not anymore. [00:27:29] A legal reporter for Politico. [00:27:32] In fact, I thought the best part was how much he got roasted for what he said online, made shocking comments, essentially saying that if Nick Shirley or any investigative reporter knocks on the door of a Somali daycare or any other place being investigated, that those folks ought to shoot him. [00:27:53] I mean, that's the way I took the comments. [00:27:56] Well, that's exactly the way it was written. [00:27:58] And when you think about the wording of the tweet, right? [00:28:02] Josh Gerstein talks about, oh, amateurs knocking on doors. [00:28:06] Well, amateurs as opposed to what, right? [00:28:09] The implication is that the guys do the professors. [00:28:14] But they're not doing the job. [00:28:15] The pros aren't doing the job. [00:28:17] And so what they're saying is nobody should be doing the work. [00:28:20] This makes more sense when you understand journalists to be synonymous with communists. [00:28:26] Because those streams run right next to each other these days. [00:28:29] It wasn't always this way, but there's always been a strain of fake news that's paired with the news, even with on the same page, even within the same sentence or story. [00:28:42] And so we always have to be aware, but this is new. [00:28:45] This is new. [00:28:46] This is not just being critical of what's reported. [00:28:51] Essentially, Josh Gerstein is saying, hey, if someone were, you know, nice career you have there, Nick Shirley. [00:28:56] Shame if someone, if something were to happen. [00:28:59] Shame if you were to be attacked. [00:29:01] And stand your ground laws do not in Florida, Michigan, or anywhere mean that you can just shoot someone through a door. [00:29:08] A senior legal reporter at Politico would obviously know that, but he said it anyway. [00:29:14] You would hope so. [00:29:15] Here's the tweet or the post on X, word for word. [00:29:19] Quote, at some point, the amateur effort to knock on doors of home daycares intersects with robust stand your ground laws. [00:29:28] End quote. [00:29:29] Now, there's a couple of things wrong with that. [00:29:31] Legally, that's just not true. [00:29:34] It's completely off base. [00:29:35] And secondly, these aren't home daycares. [00:29:39] These are small businesses, professional, supposedly, with signs out front that are misspelled and everything else. [00:29:48] So it's just wild to see this because he completely gets it wrong in every aspect of the post. [00:29:54] Now, from what I understand, it's still up. [00:29:57] Has he backtracked on this at all? [00:30:00] Oh, no, he tried to explain further that I don't mean this should happen. [00:30:03] I'm just saying it could happen. [00:30:07] And the problem with journalism is that journalists are stupid but think they are smart. [00:30:13] So they do. [00:30:13] They play little word games like this, and they think no one knows what they mean by it. [00:30:18] They think that their bylines are, oh, I carried this thing straightforward, but then you go on Twitter and you see that they're a flaming lib. [00:30:25] Like they think we are unable to read the evidence and read the signals, and we're not. [00:30:32] And the real problem is in this day and age, everybody has access to the same search bar. [00:30:37] So a guy like Nick Shirley is a real threat because he's actually making use of it. [00:30:42] I saw another attempt to shoot down Shirley's report, CBS News. [00:30:46] They put what was clearly a house cat desk reporter. [00:30:49] They put him, made him stand outside a little bit in Minneapolis and essentially say he'd made a phone call and found out that a lot of these businesses weren't fraudulent. [00:30:59] And so your response to a guy who did man-on-the-street reporting and found hundreds of millions of dollars in fraud is to put a desk reporter outside to make it appear as if he did the same thing when all he made was as little as one phone call. [00:31:16] I call all of this, whether it's the veiled death threats, whether it's the fake news trying to exonerate these fraudsters, I call all of it unjournalism because these days these people aren't even motivated by a search for truth. [00:31:31] He's down I-75 over on Twitter X, James Dixon, the James Dixon podcast. [00:31:37] You know what's wild about all of this is that these people, these local people could have been doing the reporting themselves. [00:31:46] They surely didn't just, you know, find this out of the blue. [00:31:50] He was approached by people in Minnesota that actually have been digging into this that said this is a real problem. [00:31:58] Nobody else will cover it. [00:31:59] Now, I don't know about you. [00:32:00] I have the same thing happen to me on a daily basis where I get it's too much. [00:32:04] I can't deal with them all. [00:32:06] A lot of times I have to hand them off to different folks to see if we can get some traction. [00:32:09] But these people are hitting, they're hitting dead ends when they go to these news organizations. [00:32:17] That's why we've ended up with Nick Shirley's. [00:32:20] That's exactly it. [00:32:21] Truth is a blue lake, Justin. [00:32:24] It's a blue lake on an August day with not another boat on the water. [00:32:28] You got the whole thing to yourself because the media has become so wrapped in these narratives and they're so openly rooting for the Democrat Party at this point. [00:32:39] I call it the Democrat Media Alliance. [00:32:42] And so nothing true is going to come out of that alliance. [00:32:45] They will only say what benefits them. [00:32:47] And so if they have to try to shoot down a reporter's work, they'll do it. [00:32:51] If they have to imply that a reporter should be shot for doing actual work, they'll do it. [00:32:57] Because think about it, Justin. [00:32:58] There's a part of us, the heart of hearts, right, that knows that we are full of it. [00:33:04] And so if you're a journalist and you know you don't have any scoops, you know you mostly do coverage and reheated versions of other people's work. [00:33:12] And you see some 23-year-old kid get the Herald, get the attention, get the acclaim that you never have because you've never broken a story. [00:33:21] What are you going to do? [00:33:22] Are you going to take stock of things over this Christmas break and say, hey, I'm going to go harder. [00:33:26] I'm going to report the news? [00:33:28] Or do you say the guy should be shot and killed? [00:33:32] Josh Kirstein is the reporter, legal reporter there for political that this is in question. [00:33:38] By the way, the story is everywhere, but we've also posted it on the stack at justinbarkley.com. [00:33:44] James, another story that I really wanted to cover with you originally is the story out of Michigan and what's happening with elections here. [00:33:53] This is a major story. [00:33:55] I don't think it's just Michigan, but it is potentially one of the bigger stories in 2026 as we move into such a big election year. [00:34:04] You've even covered something yourself as you are digging that folks need to hear about and why this is going to matter moving into the new year and in this big election year. [00:34:15] We're going to talk about that coming up in just a moment. [00:34:17] If you could hang with us past the break, ring the alarm on it. [00:34:21] Coming up after this, the ghost voters, that Michigan Secretary of State, the Democrat, who's going to see her oversee her own election as governor coming up this year. [00:34:34] Oh, I'm sure there's nothing to see here. [00:34:36] We'll pull the curtain back on all of it after this on the Glenn Beck program. [00:34:41] Back next. [00:34:42] Keep your powder dry and your conscience clear. [00:35:04] We are only a few weeks into winter and already brutal cold, huge snowstorms, and of course, power outages. [00:35:10] Think about this. [00:35:10] If the power goes out when it's really cold, do you have a way to keep yourself and your family warm? [00:35:15] Winter power outages can even be life-threatening. [00:35:18] We learned this in Texas not too long ago. [00:35:21] That's why so many Americans are getting a Vesta off-grid heater from my Patriot supply. [00:35:26] It's a space heater. [00:35:27] It doesn't use electricity or propane. [00:35:30] It runs on something called canned heat, and it's an indoor safe fuel. [00:35:34] With Vesta, if you have it stashed in your closet, you know you can keep warm, keep your kids warm no matter what. [00:35:39] And it even doubles as a stove to cook your food in case you have an electric cooktop. [00:35:43] The best part is right now, you can get the Vesta and a bunch more preparedness gear as free gifts when you order the winter survival kit from my Patriot Supply. [00:35:52] Go to mypatriotsupply.com/slash Glenn, see everything that's included. [00:35:56] The offer is not going to last long, so go to mypatriotsupply.com slash Glenn. [00:36:01] MyPatriotSupply.com slash Glenn. [00:36:14] This is what I wanted to cover out of Michigan. === Michigan Voter Roll Controversy (03:01) === [00:36:18] Fantastic reporting from James Dixon and the story about the Michigan voter rolls and what's happening here with our Secretary of State. [00:36:25] Why are Michigan's voter rolls so bloated? [00:36:28] Going into the 2024 election, Michigan had 500,000 more registered voters than we have voting-age adults. [00:36:36] Michigan is a slow or no-growth state of 10 million people. [00:36:39] So, how did Jocelyn Benson find 750,000 new voters just between July and October? [00:36:46] Shout out to Anna Hoffman for that report, by the way. [00:36:49] Well, she's done it before. [00:36:51] This might be a case of history repeating. [00:36:54] You remember Eric, the Electronic Registration Information Center. [00:36:58] Officially, states join Eric to compare their voter rolls and eliminate duplicates. [00:37:03] In reality, Eric finds eligible but unregistered adults in each state, and member states are required to reach out to them. [00:37:10] We've sent Jocelyn Benson Foyer for the eligible but unregistered reports that Eric sent to Michigan. [00:37:16] Despite calling herself the transparency candidate, Benson has denied them. [00:37:20] In September 2020, using Eric data, Benson sent postcards to 700,000 eligible but unregistered adults in Michigan. [00:37:28] That was almost 10% of the vote tally in a high-turnout election. [00:37:32] In four months of 2025, Benson has added almost 10% of new people to our already fat voter rolls. [00:37:40] You know, this system, by the way, great report. [00:37:42] And there's more. [00:37:43] I'll make sure it's posted online for you right now in the stack. [00:37:47] But this system, James, you probably note this, wasn't created to add people to the vote. [00:37:56] It was really supposedly sold to us that would help take people off of these bloated rolls. [00:38:03] Isn't that the way I supposedly understand this? [00:38:06] That's exactly it. [00:38:07] And so the thing of Eric is: hey, if state A and state B have the same voter on the rolls, they talk to each other, they talk to the voter and figure out who should eliminate the voter, right? [00:38:18] Simple enough. [00:38:19] Sounds good. [00:38:21] But what actually happens and the thing behind the thing on Eric is they send these annual reports to member states called eligible but unregistered. [00:38:30] A member state, unless you have a specific exemption, a member state has to then reach out to those people. [00:38:37] And so that's how 700,000 postcards go out on the eve of the election. [00:38:42] Now, what are the chances in the state that registers people to vote when they get a driver's license, when they do anything with state government, what are the chances that 10% of the voting population was found on the eve of the election, just not registered, right? [00:38:57] Pretty much none. [00:38:58] Then you look at this year in four months, July to October, Jocelyn Benson added 700,000 people to the voter rolls in just four months. [00:39:08] So Gretchen Whitmer has been, our governor has been studying, you know, why is Michigan shrinking? [00:39:13] What can we do about population? [00:39:15] She should have put Jocelyn Benson in charge of the whole thing. [00:39:17] She's the only one who finds growth. === The Last Penny Auction (15:27) === [00:39:20] Incredible. [00:39:21] And this is a story, by the way. [00:39:23] It's probably not the only place this is happening, but these are the tactics. [00:39:27] It's a blueprint. [00:39:28] It's the playbook of the Democrat Party. [00:39:31] And anytime, I don't, listen, I don't know this for a fact, but I just have, I don't know, call it a gut instinct here. [00:39:39] But this whole thing that we're seeing in Minneapolis and Minnesota and whatnot, I guarantee it ties in to voters as well. [00:39:47] And we'll see this connect at some point, if that's the case. [00:39:51] And it's funny to me to watch it all kind of get exposed at this point because this is the playbook. [00:39:57] This is how they do it. [00:39:58] This is why they do it. [00:40:00] And it's also why folks, independents, doing the actual work of journalists and journalism that should be done by the big folks, they abdicated that position. [00:40:10] It's why it matters. [00:40:11] James Dixon over on Down I-75X and Twitter, James Dixon, the James Dixon podcast. [00:40:18] Thank you, my friend, for taking the time to be here with us today and shine a light on these important. [00:40:24] In fact, the president shared this video out himself. [00:40:27] Very cool. [00:40:28] What an honor. [00:40:29] Yeah. [00:40:29] It's incredible. [00:40:31] It was a middle-of-the-night tweet on Christmas morning. [00:40:34] It's the best Christmas gift I've ever gotten. [00:40:36] God is good. [00:40:37] And Justin, happy new year, brother. [00:40:40] You too. [00:40:40] Happy New Year, James. [00:40:42] More coming up on the Glenn Beck program as we got so much more to discuss today. [00:40:46] In fact, we've talked about some of the good things that are happening. [00:40:49] You know, all this bad stuff you're hearing about, there is good news. [00:40:52] The light's getting shown all of it. [00:40:54] And that's great, but there are good things happening too. [00:40:57] In that first year, the president's been in office. [00:41:01] And in fact, we got some of the economic good news to share with you as we continue next on the Glenn Beck program. [00:41:08] Join us if you like. [00:41:09] Love to hear from you at 888727 back. [00:41:11] Justin at JustinBarklay.com. [00:41:14] The email, back next. [00:41:16] Happy New Year. [00:41:18] This is Glenn Beck. [00:42:27] This is the Glenn Beck program. [00:42:33] It is panic mode for the Democrats. [00:42:36] And in this case, it's because of the economy. [00:42:39] Stupid. [00:42:40] Well, they just can't stand some of the stories that have come out. [00:42:46] That's why they're fighting so hard against it. [00:42:47] Gas prices, the lowest they've been in five years. [00:42:51] It's incredible to watch. [00:42:52] Some of the latest numbers we've had, GDP, and the inflation and all of this gearing up to make a massive move in 2026. [00:43:00] And that would be helpful for the midterms, at least for us. [00:43:03] Not for them necessarily. [00:43:05] And maybe that's why they just can't stand it to see America great again. [00:43:11] We'll talk about that and what is on the horizon. [00:43:16] We speak with U.S. Treasurer Brandon Beach coming up next. [00:43:19] This guy has a very interesting story. [00:43:22] In fact, he was involved with a, it was something that made history a couple of weeks back. [00:43:27] You won't want to miss it. [00:43:29] We're back after this, Justin Barkley in for Glenda Day and the Glen Beck program. [00:43:38] The older I get, the more I think about trust. [00:43:40] I think about the people in my life who have my trust and earned my trust and the trust that I have placed in some people who I later learned abused that trust. [00:43:49] I know we're alike in that way. [00:43:51] We don't trust a lot of people anymore. [00:43:52] It's like we're all Ronald Reagan trust, but always verify to make sure we're not making a mistake. [00:43:58] I find it a little exhausting, quite honestly. [00:44:00] And that's why I started realestateagentsitrust.com. [00:44:03] I didn't have good experiences with buying and selling my homes. [00:44:06] So we built Real Estate Agents I Trust to introduce you to one of the thousands of agents all over the country that we work with that we have verified that they will help you have the most successful and good real estate transaction possible. [00:44:20] Our network agents share our sensibilities, have great track records, are good and decent people, and I trust them to help you with your real estate needs. [00:44:41] You can imagine politically it's not great for Democrats. [00:44:46] Nobody thought he'd get elected again. [00:44:48] None of them thought he'd be able to turn things around the way he is. [00:44:52] Things are already moving in big ways. [00:44:53] We just named a couple of those. [00:44:54] I want to talk about what's on the way in the horizon here for the economy moving into the new year. [00:45:00] 6.18% 30-year fixed mortgage. [00:45:03] That's down. [00:45:04] 3% shelter inflation. [00:45:07] 2.7% overall inflation. [00:45:09] Down a little bit, but the GDP number there, the last one, 4.3%, booming. [00:45:16] Yeah, you know, these numbers, I think it's sometimes... [00:45:19] Lots of green on the screen, by the way, here. [00:45:21] The Trump Economy in Review 2025, by the way, that was the name of that segment and the numbers on Fox and Friends as they look back in this last year, what the president's already been able to accomplish and what is ahead into the new year and more. [00:45:37] We've heard lots of interesting reports on this. [00:45:42] In fact, wanted to talk with U.S. Treasurer Brandon Beach about some of this. [00:45:46] You'll know him for something that is one of the most interesting things, I think, maybe in the history making, in the history of the country. [00:45:54] We'll talk about that in just a moment. [00:45:57] He was part of, in fact, he meant the last penny ever. [00:46:03] And it just went up for auction. [00:46:05] We'll talk about who bought it and how much it sold for coming up in a moment, too. [00:46:09] But Mr. Treasure, thank you so much for being here with us today. [00:46:13] Really appreciate you taking the time. [00:46:15] Well, Justin, thanks for having me and happy new year to you and your listeners. [00:46:19] You know, 2026 is going to be a great year. [00:46:22] You know, when you look at what the president's done, we've laid the foundation in 2025 with what Secretary Besson and he have both done on tariffs and, you know, having an even playing field from a standpoint there. [00:46:39] And then when you see the big, beautiful bill, when it kicks in with the tax cuts and the refunds, and I think interest rates are going to continue to drop. [00:46:47] And as you said earlier in your program, I just paid $2.21 a gallon for gas the other day. [00:46:53] Gas prices are going to continue to come down. [00:46:55] And I think we're going to have a really great 2026. [00:46:59] The other thing that I think people aren't really thinking about is what we're going to do from a tourism standpoint in 2026. [00:47:05] You've got World Cup coming to our country. [00:47:08] In Atlanta, for example, we're going to have eight games, and that's like four Super Bowls from an economic impact standpoint. [00:47:15] So that's going to be big for our country. [00:47:17] Plus, it's going to showcase our country for future economic development. [00:47:21] So I'm really excited about World Cup also. [00:47:23] And we're doing the coins for World Cup, the U.S. Men is, and that's going to be a fun project we've been working on. [00:47:30] Yeah, we got to talk about some of these coins here in just a second. [00:47:33] This is from the Secretary talking about what you just mentioned, which is the massive tax cuts and what that means as money really starts to flow in 2026 and what's that going to mean for your pocket and our economy. [00:47:46] What we are going to see next year, that if you think about the signature parts of the tax bill, I think that the most powerful parts had the immediate expensing for American business, permanent for equipment, and then four or five-year window for factories. [00:48:11] So we are already seeing a CapEx boom. [00:48:15] So 2025 was a CapEx boom. [00:48:18] I think that is going to accelerate with all the trade deals we've done. [00:48:22] I was just six weeks ago in my hometown of Charleston, South Carolina. [00:48:26] Boeing, the largest employer there, is increasing their plant by 50% for the Dreamliners, a result of the trade deals, but it's also part of the tax deal. [00:48:38] So we're going to continue seeing this CapEx boom that turns into an employment boom. [00:48:43] On the other side, for working Americans, the president, I led the administration's team up on the hill in terms of what was non-negotiable for the president. [00:48:59] And a lot of traditional Republicans didn't like his campaign promises to working Americans. [00:49:05] And the president never yielded on those. [00:49:07] So no tax on tips, no tax on overtime, no tax on Social Security, deductibility of auto loans for American-made cars. [00:49:15] So the bill was done on July 4th. [00:49:18] It's retroactive to the beginning of the year for working Americans, retroactive to January 20th for corporates. [00:49:26] So working Americans, I also had the honor of being the IRS commissioner, and I can see that we're going to have a gigantic refund year in the first quarter because no one changed their working Americans did not change their withholding. [00:49:43] So I think households could see, depending on the number of workers, $1,000, $2,000 refunds, they will change their withholding schedule at the beginning of the year, and they will get an automatic increase in real wages. [00:49:59] So I think that's going to be a very, I think that's going to be a very powerful combo. [00:50:05] That's incredible. [00:50:06] And if you can understand this, that was the Secretary of the Treasury, and we've got U.S. Treasurer Brandon Beach with us right now. [00:50:11] What he's saying is a couple of things. [00:50:12] Well, I'll tell you, Secretary Bissett, Besson has done a great job. [00:50:16] I mean, you look at what he's done on tariffs, but also in the Big Beautiful Bill. [00:50:20] He played a major part in that. [00:50:22] And we're going to see the fruits of that with those refunds, like he said. [00:50:26] So that's going to be big. [00:50:28] I was talking to a waitress last night at the restaurant, and she's looking forward to doing her W-2 and not having to pay taxes on tips. [00:50:35] That money will go in her pocket. [00:50:38] This is incredible because he said not only do you have the business piece, which is, I think, going to be big for jobs, as he mentioned, but the other side of that, as you said, was the tax on tips. [00:50:48] People have not adjusted. [00:50:52] So they're going to get big refunds. [00:50:54] And then when they do adjust, because they realize they need to do this at the beginning of the year, they're going to have more money in their paycheck in their actual paycheck. [00:51:02] I mean, this is incredible. [00:51:05] Well, and Justin, I don't know if you read in the Wall Street Journal just the other day that there's over a trillion dollars of construction just on data centers alone in the United States going on right now. [00:51:17] That's just construction on data centers. [00:51:19] That's not other manufacturing facilities that are going on, all these jobs coming back to America. [00:51:25] The construction industry is booming right now. [00:51:28] And then in 18 months, we'll see permanent manufacturing jobs anywhere from 12 to 18 months from now after the construction is done. [00:51:35] The economy is going to be booming in the next, in this 2026. [00:51:40] It's going to really be on fire, especially like you said, the GDP at 4.3%, the money flowing, the construction jobs. [00:51:49] You know, I just think we're going to be doing very well and interest rates continuing to drop. [00:51:54] And then what Doug Bergham and Chris Wright are doing with energy, not only independence, but energy dominance, you're going to see the fruits of that. [00:52:02] And when energy costs come down, transportation costs come down, food costs come down, you're going to see a lot of movement in the next six months. [00:52:12] So we've looked at some of these pieces here. [00:52:15] Obviously, this is what we can expect. [00:52:17] Obviously, what the president has done in the first year, what we can expect in the next year. [00:52:23] But I want to talk about some of the other things that are happening, too. [00:52:26] In fact, Secretary Beetz with us right now has made history. [00:52:30] And I got a chance to talk to you. [00:52:31] I think before the auction happened, he was involved in help meant this last penny. [00:52:38] So we're done with pennies, but they've auctioned this thing off now. [00:52:43] And I'd love for you to tell us a little bit about how much it went for, millions and millions of dollars, and who actually bought it. [00:52:49] As far as I know, Glenn likes to get in on these auctions. [00:52:52] I don't think Glenn bought the penny. [00:52:54] I don't think it's Glenn Beck's penny, but somebody else did. [00:52:57] This is fantastic, though. [00:52:59] Well, I can tell you it was historic. [00:53:01] And I've been fortunate as a state senator and now as treasurer to do a lot of really great things, cool things and unique things. [00:53:09] And I will tell you, when I held that last penny, I took a deep breath and I realized what was happening here. [00:53:16] This was the last penny that we were going to strike in the history of our country. [00:53:21] And it was a very neat opportunity to do that. [00:53:26] And we did it because it was part of President Trump's common sense policies. [00:53:31] The penny, before COVID, we did 9.2 billion pennies a year. [00:53:37] We produced. [00:53:38] Last year, we only did $2 billion. [00:53:40] So the demand went down, and yet the cost tripled. [00:53:44] It was costing us $0.04, $0.4.5 cents to produce a penny. [00:53:49] And President Trump just said that's not the right thing to do, and he's right. [00:53:54] And it's going to save the taxpayers $56 million annually by eliminating the penny. [00:53:59] Now, let me be clear. [00:54:00] The penny is still in existence. [00:54:02] It's still in circulation. [00:54:04] There's $300 billion. [00:54:05] It's still legal tender. [00:54:06] We're just not producing anymore. [00:54:09] Now, what we did, we thought we would get $5 million for the penny when we auctioned it off. [00:54:13] We decided to auction it off. [00:54:15] We got $16.7 million. [00:54:19] You know, the president was very excited about that. [00:54:21] He said that that shows the Trump policies are working. [00:54:24] When someone can spend $16.7 million for a penny, things are good. [00:54:30] So we were very excited to do that and auction that penny off. [00:54:35] But that's the reason we eliminated the penny. [00:54:38] It is wild to think of how long we were doing it and really doesn't make a lot of sense when it comes to talking about the things in government these days. === Pursuing the American Dream (07:07) === [00:54:48] And of course, that's been one of the, I think the core of what the president has really tried to do, and we've seen the results of that, is get back to common sense. [00:54:57] We've been so far removed from it for so long. [00:55:02] Right. [00:55:02] And we're looking at everything. [00:55:03] We're looking at the nickel. [00:55:05] We've got a bill in the legislature in the Congress now to look at going to a different alloy so we can save money there on the cost of production of the nickel. [00:55:14] So we're looking at everything to make sure that we are doing the best job for the taxpayers of the country and making sure that we're doing common sense policy. [00:55:24] Now, you just mentioned some other coins. [00:55:26] We've got U.S. Treasurer Brandon Beach with us right now. [00:55:30] You just mentioned some other coins. [00:55:31] You talked about World Cup coins, but I saw there's some other coins that are being talked about as well. [00:55:36] We've got the 250th birthday here of the country. [00:55:39] That's another one you're looking at as well. [00:55:41] That's going to be a big one. [00:55:42] Well, we did some special coins. [00:55:44] And what we're doing there is just like I talked to somebody the other day that still has their bicentennial coins that they got in 1976, and they've kept them. [00:55:53] And we've done that with, we've got some quarters, a dime, and a half dollar. [00:55:59] And we're just what we're trying to do is talk about our Constitution, our independence, our early governance, talk about liberty and, you know, just the things that we are lucky to have here in this country, and also, you know, use it as a tool to teach young people, you know, just how we came to the history of this country. [00:56:22] And so what we're doing is we have those. [00:56:25] But also, I want to talk to you about another coin, the Trump dollar coin. [00:56:29] As you know, the president, we're working on a coin with him, President Trump on the front, and then on the back, we're working on the back of the coin. [00:56:38] He cannot be on the back, but he can be on the front. [00:56:41] And we will have that. [00:56:42] We should have that design done in the next 10 days. [00:56:46] And I'll get with Secretary Bessant. [00:56:48] We'll approve it, and we will move forward and go into production. [00:56:51] And you will see a Trump dollar coin, hopefully in the next 10 weeks in circulation, and it will be legal tender. [00:56:57] It will be a dollar coin of legal tender. [00:57:00] So I'm excited about that project, too. [00:57:03] I'm sure people are going to run to like, it's worth a dollar, but it'll be worth even more because people want those. [00:57:11] How will people be able to get them when they come out? [00:57:13] Is there a process for that? [00:57:14] I mean, I know it'll just be like getting a dime or a quarter. [00:57:18] I mean, we'll put them in circulation through the Federal Reserve. [00:57:21] They'll go to the banks, and you can go get, just like you can go to the bank and get dollar bills, you can go get a dollar coin. [00:57:27] It'll be in circulation. [00:57:30] I love that. [00:57:31] I'm sure we'll have to mint a lot of them because a lot of people are going to want them. [00:57:37] But it is going to be legal tender, and it's going to be a great thing for our country. [00:57:41] I came about this idea when the president called me and appointed me, I wanted to do a $250 bill for him for the 250-year anniversary with his picture on it. [00:57:52] But I didn't realize you had to be deceased to be on a currency, paper currency. [00:57:57] You do not have to be deceased to be on a dollar coin. [00:58:00] So that's why we went with the coin. [00:58:02] Now, we still are pursuing the $250 bill. [00:58:05] There's a bill that Congressman Joe Wilson from South Carolina has. [00:58:09] It's in French Hills Committee. [00:58:11] It's passed out of subcommittee. [00:58:13] It's in committee, full committee. [00:58:14] And we're hoping to get that passed out of the House to allow the president to be on the $250 bill for the 250-year celebration. [00:58:23] So we're working on that, but that does take legislation, and we're going to work on that. [00:58:29] Yeah, U.S. Treasurer, we appreciate Brendan Beach paying. [00:58:32] Thank you for taking the time during the holiday here to come on and talk with us and share. [00:58:37] I know folks are going to be looking forward to all those things in the coming of the new year, especially what a year for the 250th anniversary of the founding of this country. [00:58:48] It's going to be a spectacular celebration. [00:58:52] Well, let me tell you this, if I could, I was fortunate enough to be involved in President Trump's campaign here in Georgia, where I'm from, and I got to know him, and I can tell you that it didn't take me long to figure out. [00:59:06] He loves our country. [00:59:07] He loves and respects law enforcement and the military. [00:59:11] But what he really loves is capitalism. [00:59:13] And I've heard him talk about the golden age economy several times. [00:59:17] And I can tell you this. [00:59:19] He wants you, your kids, and your grandkids to be able to pursue the American dream. [00:59:24] And he also realizes, and I realized this when I was in the state Senate, government does not create jobs. [00:59:30] The private sector does. [00:59:32] But what we can do as a government is create a conducive environment through fair trade, the tariffs, low taxes, less regulation, provide an educated workforce, and provide infrastructure, both roads, bridges, and 21st century infrastructure, the right fiber, the right cell towers, the right satellites, the right AI. [00:59:51] And if we do those things and get out of the way, we will have economic prosperity, and you will be able to pursue the American dream. [00:59:59] And, you know, you've heard the president talk a lot about having a golden age economy and every zip code in this country. [01:00:05] And that's what he wants to do. [01:00:07] And we're going to lay the foundation and the groundwork so that people can pursue the American dream. [01:00:13] You know, we are so blessed to live in this country. [01:00:16] And I'm sick and tired of people talking bad about the United States. [01:00:19] And you look at, I'm going to give you two examples. [01:00:23] Jeff Sprecker, I don't know if you know who he is. [01:00:25] He came to Atlanta 30 plus years ago with $1,000 and started the Intercontinental Exchange. [01:00:31] Now he owns the New York Stock Exchange. [01:00:34] He owns several exchanges. [01:00:36] He's a billionaire. [01:00:37] That only happens in America. [01:00:40] Another story, Todd Graves, he wanted to open a restaurant, couldn't get a bank loan, goes out on the oil rigs, works a couple years on time and a half and double time, saves $40,000. [01:00:50] Now he owns Raisin Canes and he's worth $22 billion. [01:00:54] That only happens in America. [01:00:57] And we want people to be able to have economic opportunity and be able to pursue the American dream. [01:01:03] And that's what the Big Beautiful Bill is about. [01:01:06] That's what our common sense policies are about. [01:01:09] And that's what we're going to do to really create that opportunity for you, your kids, and your grandkids because we want success. [01:01:18] And there's nothing wrong with make America great again. [01:01:21] There's nothing wrong with success and people making money and having prosperity. [01:01:26] Yes, Treasurer Brandon Beach. [01:01:27] I couldn't have said it better myself. [01:01:28] Thank you, sir. [01:01:29] Really appreciate you being here with us. [01:01:31] Thank you for taking the time and happy new year. [01:01:33] Happy New Year to you and your listeners. [01:01:35] Thank you very much. [01:01:36] You got it. [01:01:37] God bless. [01:01:37] Coming up next, more bad news for Tim Walz. [01:01:40] And this time we're talking charges? [01:01:43] Back after this, 60 seconds on the Glenbeck program. [01:01:48] We are only a few weeks into winter and already brutal cold, huge snowstorms, and of course, power outages. [01:01:54] Think about this. === Winter Survival Kit Free Gifts (03:08) === [01:01:55] If the power goes out when it's really cold, do you have a way to keep yourself and your family warm? [01:02:00] Winter power outages can even be life-threatening. [01:02:03] We learned this in Texas not too long ago. [01:02:05] That's why so many Americans are getting a Vesta off-grid heater from MyPatriot Supply. [01:02:11] It's a space heater. [01:02:12] It doesn't use electricity or propane. [01:02:14] It runs on something called canned heat, and it's an indoor safe fuel. [01:02:18] With Vesta, if you have it stashed in your closet, you know you can keep warm, keep your kids warm no matter what. [01:05:11] When did you do that? [01:05:14] Three or four weeks ago. [01:05:15] Recently. [01:05:16] Recently. [01:05:17] Yeah. [01:05:18] So there's an investigation ongoing, and I think Tim's going to have a bad day, and he deserves it because he allowed this fraud because he wanted the voting block that the Somalis represent because they all vote in a block, and it's 100,000, 150,000. [01:05:35] Who knows how many? [01:05:38] But it's so bad now that when we go to a facility, they're already screaming, Nick Shirley, Nick Shirley, Nick Shirley. [01:05:47] It is, that's David, by the way, the man who I think tipped Nick Shirley off to all of this that's happening in Minnesota. [01:05:54] He's the one that's been ringing an alarm for, I think, quite some time. [01:05:56] This is, if you're from Minnesota, by the way, all of us are learning about this now or have learned about it here very recently. [01:06:05] But if you're from Minnesota, none of this is new. [01:06:10] It's news, but it's not new. [01:06:12] Let me put it that way and talk more about that and the no good, very bad day that Tim Walz is having over the last several days and probably going to get even worse. [01:06:21] Speaker of the Minnesota House and running for governor as a Republican, Lisa DeMuth joins us right now. [01:06:27] Lisa, thank you for taking the time. [01:06:30] This is all starting to heat up and I know you're very aware of it. [01:06:33] And, boy, I'm sure you've got some stories to tell. [01:06:38] I do. [01:06:39] Good morning, Justin. [01:06:40] Thanks for having this conversation with me. [01:06:43] Fraud in Minnesota is not new to, I would say, Republicans here in the state of Minnesota. [01:06:49] Some of our Democrat colleagues right now, as more has come out over the weekend through this viral video by Nick Shirley, seem to be surprised by it, including some of the commissioners on Governor Walls' staff. [01:07:03] But it is not new, but it has exploded over the last seven years specifically under the administration of Governor Walls. [01:07:13] Well, it was, I mean, this seems like it's getting to the point where it's like completely obvious. [01:07:20] What was the plan here? [01:07:23] They just throw it all to the wall or the walls here and see whatever sticks. [01:07:27] I mean, to me, it's blatant. [01:07:30] It's obvious. [01:07:31] And it's almost like they just never thought they would ever get caught. [01:07:35] That is exactly right. [01:07:37] And the U.S. Attorney's Office has given assistance here. [01:07:41] In Minnesota, we had one of the largest COVID frauds. [01:07:46] Feeding our future was the company, supposed company, feeding kids during the pandemic. [01:07:52] It is proven that $250 million of fraud went out just in that case. [01:08:00] The U.S. assistant attorney Joe Thompson has said in a news conference a couple of weeks ago that fraud in Minnesota is at an industrial scale level, and it will probably be about $9 billion. [01:08:14] Justin, those are Minnesota tax dollars, but also federal tax dollars of theft from everyone in the United States, and including those of us in Minnesota. [01:08:25] You know, and I think one of the things that people miss, because obviously we're outraged by this. [01:08:30] And anybody who is honest about it, when you're looking at this, you ought to be outraged by it. [01:08:36] But I think the thing that we probably miss the most out of this is that when this type of thing happens, because we want to do the right thing, we do want to help people. [01:08:46] And I'm sure, you know, in Minnesota, as nice as you all are, you want to do the right thing. [01:08:51] You want to help as many people as you can, but you really want to do it the right way. [01:08:56] And when you find out this type of thing is happening, it actually hurts more than anything the people who are the most vulnerable. [01:09:03] It definitely hurts those. [01:09:05] And what we have said is every dollar that goes out in fraud means that that dollar did not make its way to the people that need it the most. [01:09:13] And it was stolen from family budgets. [01:09:16] These people that are working very hard just making ends meet and then find out that their dollars that were supposed to go to help people were spent in fraud. [01:09:27] We won't recover the bulk of those dollars back. [01:09:30] Fraud in Minnesota needs to end now, and we're finally getting the attention that it is needed. [01:09:36] We've been fighting this fight for my entire seven years in the legislature, but Democrat control has blocked it at every single turn. [01:09:46] She's a Speaker of the House now. [01:09:47] He's a Republican there in Minnesota running for governor, Lisa Mufas right now. [01:09:51] Here's a post from Stephen Miller, president's advisor, earlier this morning on acts. [01:09:56] What if I told you our national debt is the tab for the mass looting of the American economy and the mass theft of the American dream? [01:10:06] In other words, one of the reasons why we see such a massive debt and that everyone is chained to and our kids and our grandkids here in this country is because of this very fraud, this looting that's happening. [01:10:21] It's at least part of it, absolutely. [01:10:23] And that is a wrong thing to do. [01:10:26] You know, as we have tried to, over my time in the legislature, put forward bills. [01:10:31] And it's important for your listeners, Justin, to realize that there has been Democrat control in the state here in Minnesota for much too long. [01:10:41] We tied the House of Representatives just this last election in 24. [01:10:46] That is what allowed me to become Speaker, and I established the Fraud Prevention and Agency Oversight Committee. [01:10:53] The way that I was able to do that is for a short period of time, even though we originally were tied with the Democrats in the House, they supported a fraudster that didn't live in his district that the courts struck down and could not take office. [01:11:09] So for the period of time where Republicans in the House in Minnesota had 67 members, the Democrats were down to just 66 because they supported fraud in an election. [01:11:21] I was able to establish the Fraud Prevention Committee, become the Speaker of the House, and we put forward bills, even if we couldn't get them passed. [01:11:30] They've been tabled, ready to go to combat a number of these things when we return back into session in February. [01:11:37] So Democrats in Minnesota have protected and promoted fraud for years. [01:11:43] Lisa DeMuthus is right now. [01:11:44] She's the Speaker of the House running for governor right now in Minnesota. [01:11:48] So let's talk about what we do to stop this because we're already seeing, and this is going to be a whole nother issue altogether, I would think, not just for Minnesota, but for other states. [01:11:59] It shouldn't be. [01:12:00] If everything is above board, it should be, everything should be fine. [01:12:03] But we've heard that Health and Human Services has had to freeze now any of the funds coming into not just the state, but looking at doing this at all states because of this massive amount of fraud. [01:12:16] So the money stopped flowing in right away. [01:12:20] Obviously, it looks like they say taking in the state $185 million in child care funds for this particular piece every year. [01:12:29] But it's not just that. [01:12:31] We're seeing fraud in other areas. [01:12:32] Maybe you can help us with that as well. [01:12:34] But how do we put a stop to this, at least at the state level, from where your perspective is? [01:12:40] You know, the way that we can stop this in the state are just common sense business practices where you would have internal controls. [01:12:47] Some of the things that we have tried to put forward is if there is a known entity that is suspected or convicted of fraud, it would be a simple check to make sure that same person or entity were not receiving other state dollars in other programs. [01:13:04] Because as we're talking about this fraud in the child care assistance program, we know in Minnesota, as I mentioned, Feeding Our Future, that was out of our Department of Education that those $250 million went out. [01:13:18] We have other suspected and proven fraud in autism services, adult daycare, non-emergency transportation, housing stabilization services. [01:13:29] But under Democrat control, our budget exploded, and we had an $18 billion surplus that was completely spent. [01:13:39] And our taxes and fees in Minnesota were raised another $10 billion. [01:13:44] And because Democrats were in full control of state government, Republicans could sound the alarm, but we didn't have the votes to change it. [01:13:52] And there was not a single Democrat that would say, maybe we need to look at why the budget has exploded. [01:13:57] They just kept shoveling the money out the door. [01:14:00] That's where we find ourselves. [01:14:01] And that is what I, as Speaker, am trying to fix in the House now. [01:14:06] And also part of the reason I am running for governor. [01:14:10] Lisa DeMuthus is right now. [01:14:11] You know, I remember the first time you and I talked was actually right back after they announced Tim Walz would be the running mate for Kamala Harris and he'd be the VP candidate for the Democrats. [01:14:23] And we kind of got a bit of a taste of how bad things were because it is no secret in the state of Minnesota. [01:14:33] And this is a guy who, you know, he had to set up a hotline for you to rat out your neighbors. [01:14:38] If you had more than a couple people over at your house and things like that, we had National Guard out on the streets, you know, making sure people weren't outside. [01:14:47] Just wild some of the stories that we've heard. [01:14:50] You've seen it all up close and personal, and you've been somebody on the front row for Tim Walz. [01:14:58] What do you think is going to happen? [01:14:59] You just heard that guy, David, talk about the charges. [01:15:03] You've called for him to resign. [01:15:05] What do you think is going to happen here? [01:15:06] Really, what should happen next with Governor Walls? [01:15:08] You know, I think anyone with a conscience would have stopped the fraud and been responsible as a leader of the state. [01:15:15] That is not what we found in Tim Walz. [01:15:17] But he has already announced that he is running for a third term. [01:15:21] We don't have term limits here in Minnesota. [01:15:23] He thinks he deserves a third term. [01:15:26] At a minimum, if he doesn't resign immediately, he at least needs to say that he is not running again for a third term and pull out of that race. [01:15:36] That'll be next November. [01:15:37] But we are not seeing that. [01:15:39] There is either an ignoring of the facts or an ignorance that they're not happening. [01:15:45] You know, when you and I talked, Justin, and Governor Walls was the vice presidential candidate with Harris as far as for vice president. [01:15:56] Maybe he was more focused on other things at a national level and didn't pay attention to what was happening here in Minnesota. [01:16:03] I don't know, but either way, it has to stop. [01:16:05] He has not led this state in a way that has made it better for people. [01:16:09] He has hurt people along the way. [01:16:12] Yeah, this is really interesting. [01:16:15] He doesn't strike me, and I know you'll know him better than I do, but he doesn't strike me as a guy who's willing to walk away or even admit that there have been mistakes. [01:16:25] Even, let's be honest, acknowledge reality in some ways. [01:16:30] I think he's going to have to be drugged away, kicking and screaming. [01:16:35] And unfortunately, that only, I think, hurts the folks in Minnesota there. [01:16:39] Tell us about your run, though, for governor. [01:16:41] And I know folks can support you. [01:16:43] Go to lisa4mn.com, Lisa the Moon running there in Minnesota for governor. [01:16:50] Yeah, I announced my run on November 2nd. [01:16:53] And the reason is I looked at our state. [01:16:56] The fraud was a big deal, but we were known for our educational quality over the years. [01:17:01] But under Governor Walls, our kids have been failing. [01:17:05] Our education system for our kids is failing. [01:17:07] Only half of our kids can even read at grade level on a statewide average. [01:17:12] We have the record fraud. [01:17:14] We've watched our state budget go from an $18 billion surplus and a raising of taxes and fees. [01:17:21] Governor Walls has spent us into a $6 billion deficit. [01:17:25] And there have been mandates that have pushed businesses out. [01:17:29] A new program starting tomorrow in the state of Minnesota, paid family medical leave. [01:17:34] It is a tax and a mandate on every business if you have one or more employees that will allow employees to take up to 20 weeks off for either their own health issues or the health issues of a friend or someone they know or the bonding of a child. [01:17:54] It is unbelievable. [01:17:55] So you talk about fraud here in the state of Minnesota. [01:17:58] We've got paid family medical leave without guardrails, and we'll have to see where that lands. [01:18:04] But those are some of the reasons why I am running. [01:18:06] I want Minnesota to become that business-friendly state again where our economy can grow. [01:18:11] There's less mandates. [01:18:13] Families can afford their lives. [01:18:15] We'll keep boys out of girls' sports is another reason why we need change here in the state. [01:18:22] And then we'll get a control of this fraud. [01:18:25] Lisa, thank you, and good luck to you. [01:18:27] Please keep us posted and let us know as cleaning up this mess, I'm sure, is going to take quite the effort. [01:18:34] It is. [01:18:35] Thank you so much, Justin. [01:18:36] Really appreciate the opportunity to talk with you. [01:18:39] Lisa4MN.com. [01:18:40] That's Lisa DeMoo. [01:18:41] Thank you. [01:18:42] We'll be back after this, folks. [01:18:43] We got more. [01:18:44] In fact, breaking news, details on this story, and more when we return. [01:20:38] We've got news breaking from Ohio just moments ago. [01:20:41] It's being exposed. [01:20:42] More than 40, quote, daycare centers in Columbus, Ohio, opened under a Somali shell organization. [01:20:49] They get $14 million. [01:20:52] This is just in the last year alone. [01:20:57] Eric Daughtry over on X sharing these documents and the details from the research online. [01:21:04] And this is easy to do when you go in and look up these corporations. [01:21:07] But this is something you're going to see more and more. [01:21:11] As I mentioned yesterday, it's not just Minnesota. [01:21:17] You're going to find it everywhere. [01:21:19] And it's not just Somalis. [01:21:20] I think you're going to find it in many different areas and largely tied in to Democrats. [01:21:27] In fact, Tim Walz is saying, oh, no, Trump is politicizing this in a post on X. [01:21:32] He mentioned that earlier. [01:21:33] No, no, Tim. [01:21:35] He's not making this political. [01:21:37] It is political. [01:21:38] And he's pointed it out. [01:21:40] That's why they're finally going after some of these people. [01:21:44] The find out era is here. [01:21:46] And it's moving swiftly ahead. [01:21:48] So are we on a New Year's Eve on the Glenn Beck program wishing you a happy new year? [01:21:52] Justin Barkley in for Glenn today, back after this. [01:21:56] Justin at JustinBarkley.com, 888-727-BEC, B-E-C-K. [01:22:01] It's 888-727-B-E-C-K. [01:22:03] You can join us coming up after the break. [01:22:07] is Glenn Beck. [01:23:15] This is the Glenn Beck Program. [01:23:20] Well, it has certainly been historic in nature this last year, the term, the second term of the president of the United States. [01:23:29] And it's also been historic for us in so many other ways. [01:23:34] I want to talk about something to sort of switching gears if I can on the last hour here of the Glenn Beck program for the year. [01:23:43] The honor of filling in for Glenn Today on the Glenn Beck program. [01:23:46] It's Justin Barklay. [01:23:48] I'm going to get you to give us maybe some of your thoughts, your predictions, if any, about what's coming in 2026. [01:23:55] This is the smartest audience, I believe, in radio. [01:23:59] Hats off to the folks that listen to the Glenn Beck program. [01:24:02] So here's the number, 888-727-B-E-C-K. [01:24:06] That's 888-727-BEC. [01:24:09] Or you can email me, justin at justinbarklay.com, B-A-R-C-L-A-Y, Justin at JustinBarkley.com. [01:24:15] What do you see ahead in the year? [01:24:18] That's in front of us, the 250th anniversary of this nation. [01:24:21] We'll talk about that and the history behind us. [01:24:25] After this, Justin in for Glenn Today on the Glenn Beck program. [01:24:35] We are only a few weeks into winter and already brutal cold, huge snowstorms and of course power outages. [01:24:41] Think about this. [01:24:42] If the power goes out when it's really cold, do you have a way to keep yourself and your family warm? [01:24:47] Winter power outages can even be life-threatening. [01:24:50] We learned this in Texas not too long ago. [01:24:52] That's why so many Americans are getting a Vesta off-grid heater from MyPatriot Supply. [01:24:57] It's a space heater. [01:24:59] It doesn't use electricity or propane. [01:25:01] It runs on something called canned heat, and it's an indoor safe fuel. [01:25:05] With Vesta, if you have it stashed in your closet, you know you can keep warm, keep your kids warm no matter what. [01:25:10] And it even doubles as a stove to cook your food in case you have an electric cooktop. [01:25:14] The best part is right now, you can get the Vesta and a bunch more preparedness gear as free gifts when you order the winter survival kit from MyPatriot Supply. [01:25:24] Go to mypatriotsupply.com slash Glenn, see everything that's included. [01:25:27] The offer is not going to last long, so go to mypatriotsupply.com slash Glenn. [01:25:32] MyPatriotSupply.com slash Glenn. [01:25:40] We're going to talk a lot about what's in the news, and of course right now, but some of the history that we're looking back on is this last year is actually about ready to be made in some ways, and that's kind of interesting in itself. [01:25:56] Justin in today for Glenn on the Glenn Beck program, I thought it would be interesting. [01:26:01] And yeah, we'll take a couple of calls here too to see what your predictions are for the year ahead, 2026 and beyond. [01:26:08] But I thought it'd be interesting to do that, to hear from you. [01:26:11] 888727 Beck, 888727BECK. [01:26:17] I also saw a story that I thought, oh, this is kind of fascinating. [01:26:22] I like little things like this. [01:26:24] And I know a guy. [01:26:26] So I thought I'd reach out to my good friend Kevin DeVries, who's actually been there, done that before, and even has the t-shirt. [01:26:34] They think they may have found Noah's Ark. [01:26:37] Well, that's a story from the New York Post. [01:26:38] But I've seen this story a time or two. [01:26:41] And Kevin has too. [01:26:42] In fact, he's been right in the middle of it. [01:26:43] He was part of a documentary that went looking for Noah's Ark. [01:26:48] Finding Noah is what it was called. [01:26:50] And he joins us now on the Glen Beck program. [01:26:52] Kevin, did Noah's Ark really exist is the headline. [01:26:57] Pottery fragments found near biblical boat site provide evidence of human settlement. [01:27:03] Fascinating story. [01:27:04] Let's dig in and talk about it. [01:27:08] You are, after all, my archaeologist. [01:27:14] Yeah, that's good. [01:27:15] Happy day. [01:27:16] I spent five summers looking for that thing. [01:27:22] Gary Sinise was kind enough to narrate for us. [01:27:24] But, you know, it seems like somebody finds it every year. [01:27:27] It's a fascinating story. [01:27:29] You know, it's got a lot of depth to it. [01:27:31] There's a lot of metaphor to it. [01:27:32] There's, well, you know, if you find the ark, you find a lost link to another civilization, right? [01:27:37] It'll be the last remaining remnant that we'd have had from the antediluvian period. [01:27:41] So from an archaeological standpoint, it's fascinating because it could provide just a wealth of information. [01:27:47] But we, yeah, we spent quite a bit of time in Arat and we're looking for that ship. [01:27:54] And scientific remote sensory indications that there was something there on the eastern plateau. [01:28:02] We did a ton of electrical and seismic resetivity tests, and we did a lot of ground-penetrating radar, which is really tricky with ice. [01:28:10] It's really meant for dirt. [01:28:11] So there's a lot of refracting that goes on, almost like a Fresno lens that you would see at a lighthouse. [01:28:17] So it's very difficult to ascertain what's under the ice. [01:28:20] We also excavated some Herculean holes at 16,800. [01:28:27] Yeah, we know where it's not. [01:28:31] You know where it's not. [01:28:33] We know where it's not. [01:28:36] In this case, in this story, they think they may have found this. [01:28:41] Now, are you familiar with this particular? [01:28:43] Because it's, again, it's Turkey, right? [01:28:45] Yeah, it's, you know, it's a tourist park, and they call it that. [01:28:48] It's Noah's Ark Park, and it's called the Derepanar site, and it was about 13 to 15 miles from our base camp area. [01:28:55] So it was just a hop and a skip. [01:28:56] I never actually went to the place personally. [01:28:59] It was just kind of written off. [01:29:04] Mostly because if you just shot up and did a Google Earth or put a drone up in the sky, you would see other anomalies of very similar kind throughout that region. [01:29:14] So I don't know. [01:29:14] I mean, if you follow the biblical count, I don't think Noah was in charge of an armada. [01:29:18] I think he was in charge of one boat, one arc. [01:29:22] So just taking a quick preview of Google Earth would indicate that, yeah, it's probably not unique to the area. [01:29:29] But, you know, it sells t-shirts, like you said, and it gets people there, and it gets a lot of, you know, these stories get origins, right? [01:29:40] It explains a lot of things. [01:29:42] If you can start or restart creation from a particular point date, it explains a lot of cultures and different languages and the continents. [01:29:51] So it's a fascinating story. [01:29:53] It's a big story. [01:29:55] So what is your thought on this as someone who's gone searching? [01:30:00] Is it out there? [01:30:02] And if it is, you know, will we ever find it? [01:30:06] Or is this just something that's meant to be a mystery? [01:30:11] I think personally, I mean, we spent all of our time on the Eastern Plateau, which would have been an ideal site for preservation of an ark that would have been at that point, you know, thousands of years old. [01:30:22] And our hope was that if we had found it and conclusively proved that it was there, it would have been like the phronic sunboats, you know, from the Delta Nile, which are perfectly preserved. [01:30:31] Or the, you know, in Siberia, you've got these mastodones, these woolly mammoths that are preserved to the point that they're now able to extract DNA from them. [01:30:40] You know, or the bog ships from Norway. [01:30:42] If you go to Norway, you can see all these Viking ships that were perfectly preserved in the peat moss box. [01:30:46] So any environment that's oxygen-free that doesn't allow for the entrance of bacteria, you could have that safe or perpetuity. [01:30:54] So having ruled that out almost conclusively, it could still be in that area, but I highly doubt it. [01:30:59] It's 100-foot depth, and we did everything we could to figure out what was underneath the ice. [01:31:04] But I personally believe it's in the Ohura Gorge if it is there or intact, you know, if they didn't break it apart and use it for wood immediately afterwards. [01:31:13] You know, it is interesting to think about. [01:31:19] And I think that's why we're drawn because we want answers, right? [01:31:23] I mean, you're somebody, and I think if you watch the documentary finding Noah, you're going to get they didn't get the ark, but what they did find, I think, was even more interesting in this case. [01:31:38] And I think that's part of what draws us is we're looking for answers as people. [01:31:45] Well, I think the great discoveries are what you find while you're looking for something else. [01:31:50] So the whole idea is the impetus. [01:31:52] The genius is action, right? [01:31:53] Get out the front door, get on the adventure, jump out of the boat, walk in the water. [01:31:58] You know, you've got to do something. [01:31:59] There's something about action that creates momentum, and momentum creates miracles, and things happen. [01:32:05] So I think you have to be very much attuned to that. [01:32:07] You know, what is the real story? [01:32:08] There's always the, but the more obscure or oblique narrative is really the trick of it: what, what is the universe trying to tell you? [01:32:18] What is God trying to speak to you? [01:32:20] And often he does metaphors, and the ark provides a perfect metaphor, you know, for Christ in our lives and the safety that he provides with the atonement and the sacrifice that he made to reconnect us back to God. [01:32:33] And so it's a powerful, powerful metaphor if you can look at it through that lens. [01:32:37] It's a very poetic application for sure. [01:32:41] Kevin DeVries is with us right now. [01:32:43] In fact, I called him the archaeologist because he's gone looking for Noah's Ark. [01:32:48] But Kevin is kind of the best way to describe him would be like a faith-filled Indiana Jones. [01:32:54] He loves adventure. [01:32:56] He's constantly on one. [01:32:58] Made a documentary about climbing Mount Everest. [01:33:01] You've been all over the place. [01:33:02] And in fact, you got a new project you're working on right now, Kevin. [01:33:06] You guys are going to do something that has started to, I guess, be talked about again and in a project and in a way that's never been done before. [01:33:18] You're launching something that I guess I would sort of describe as like a bear grills meets the chosen in some ways. [01:33:29] Yeah. [01:33:29] It's really fascinating. [01:33:31] What are you doing now? [01:33:33] Well, it's called the journey within. [01:33:36] So when we did our last documentary, which is called The Summit, and it's all over just about every available channel possible, we did that because we wanted the viewer to go in as we were going up. [01:33:46] So it was a trek to Everest Basecamp and it had a lot of, it was talking a lot about trauma and how does trauma heal. [01:33:53] And so we are basically using the whole Himalayan range as kind of a juxtaposition of the inward journey because it's hard to climb mountains, but it's really hard to climb the ones that are within. [01:34:04] Sometimes I would imagine that those are the hardest to climb. [01:34:11] It's easy to live in your head. [01:34:12] And most people in the Western world, we live in our heads. [01:34:15] We don't want to get into the heart because that's where, you know, all the good stuff happens, but it's also where the hurt lies, but it's where the pain is, but that's also where your purpose is. [01:34:24] So your purpose is always encrypted in pain. [01:34:26] So if you can get past that, if you can walk into that cave, the great mythologist Joseph Campbell said that the cave that you dread to enter also holds the treasure that you said, it's great to go to the North and South Pole, look for Noah's Ark. [01:34:43] Adventure is a beautiful, wonderful thing. [01:34:45] It's kind of a lost art, and it gets you on this journey. [01:34:49] But the real journey is that 18 inches to get out of your head, out of that cerebral domain that you live in with facts and sink down into those 18 inches, get into your heart, get into your story, get into the true narrative, your true identity, which is always spiritual. [01:35:04] It's never superficial. [01:35:06] And if we can leverage adventure to do that, I think we've accomplished something. [01:35:09] In fact, the way we're marketing this or positioning this docuseries is it's a series that's going where no other series has gone before, kind of a Star Trek thing. [01:35:19] But we're trying to essentially take the typical adventure program and turn it on its head. [01:35:25] And instead of just talking about achievements and all those things that come with that, we're trying to leverage that and turn it into something catalytic, something that's more about spiritual awakening. [01:35:37] So it's not just about climbing something and achieving something or surviving something. [01:35:43] It's more about spiritual awareness. [01:35:45] And if we can leverage those great survival stories, the Shackleton stories, right? [01:35:49] These highly successful failures, kind of like finding Noah. [01:35:52] We were up on that. [01:35:55] Dozens of guys and electrical activity and thunderstorms and geopolitical tension with the PKK and the Turks. [01:36:03] I mean, there's numerous ways we could have died, right? [01:36:05] It's almost Shackleton-esque where, you know, it takes these 27 guys on adventure and against all odds, after being years on the ice, they come back to the man. [01:36:14] They all survived. [01:36:15] And so sometimes you have to look at the greatest lessons are the successful failures. [01:36:19] I've learned very little through success. === Shackleton's Survival Stories (03:24) === [01:36:21] It's the failures that that's the gold. [01:36:24] And if you can find guys and women that walk with a limp, hang close to them because they typically have the gold. [01:36:31] They know the secrets of the journey and they've learned it the hard way. [01:36:34] They learned it through failure. [01:36:36] Kevin DeVries and the journey within. [01:36:40] By the way, Kevin, I know this isn't like for prime time. [01:36:42] It's not ready for public consumption yet. [01:36:45] But if people want to follow you, maybe they want to go along for the ride or maybe they want to help support this effort and this ministry. [01:36:53] I know you've got a great website, GraceExplorations.com. [01:36:56] You're probably looking for a little bit of help to still put that together. [01:37:00] Yeah, absolutely. [01:37:01] I mean, we just released the trailer series video, which has just gotten a lot of rave reviews in the last two weeks. [01:37:07] And that actually lives on my YouTube channel. [01:37:09] It's under my name, Kevin DeVries. [01:37:11] It's so new that it just lives on YouTube right now. [01:37:13] But they can take a peek at that. [01:37:15] If they want to be a financial partner, they can go to graceexplorations.com and be a part of that. [01:37:20] If they want more info, they can contact me there as well. [01:37:22] I can give them the producer's pitch deck. [01:37:25] But yeah, we're looking for people to help finance this. [01:37:28] And also, we're looking for distribution partners and streaming partners because we want this to be kind of a thing where eventually people can binge-watch it. [01:37:36] So four or five series worth of content, and you find a snowy day in Michigan. [01:37:45] Wants something in one month, one episode per week, and people can learn about Mallory climbing Everest and the disappearance and the legend that's all involved with that. [01:37:56] And then follow us on Shackleton's journey across South Georgia, where he had the third man encounter, which is a phenomena that many people that have survived extreme conditions can relate to. [01:38:07] It kind of goes back to antiquity with the three Caber boys and the fire, you know, and the fourth person. [01:38:12] Like, who is that person? [01:38:13] Nebuchadnezzar said. [01:38:14] And so stories with Shackleton having this third man encounter that survivors whisper about. [01:38:23] And we're leveraging that. [01:38:24] And we're talking about, well, you know, Shackleton was an incredible leader. [01:38:27] He did incredible things. [01:38:28] He was able to stop 97 miles from the South Pole turnaround because he knew he had enough food to get there, but not enough to get back, which is a huge leadership decision. [01:38:37] Mallory was daring the wildest dream, you know, trying to climb Everest. [01:38:44] Uh-oh. [01:38:45] But we're trying to go deeper. [01:38:47] So, Kevin, it sounds like we're losing you. [01:38:49] I think you're not up on Everest today. [01:38:51] You might be up on another mountain, but we've got a great starting point here for folks. [01:39:01] GraceExplorations.com, the journey within. [01:39:04] And Kevin DeVries, thank you for taking the time off from searching for the Ark today to just stop in and fill us in on the latest. [01:39:15] Yeah, thank you so much, Justin. [01:39:16] Sorry we lost connection there for a bit. [01:39:18] I appreciate the opportunity. [01:39:19] No, you're always great. [01:39:20] Appreciate you, my friend. [01:39:21] Thank you, Kevin. [01:39:22] God bless. [01:39:22] Happy New Year. [01:39:26] I just such a fascinating. [01:39:27] I could talk to that guy forever, but such a fascinating story. [01:39:32] And there's even more to Kevin's story. [01:39:34] I think you really, if you got to know him, you'd really enjoy. [01:39:38] The guy is, he's something else. [01:39:41] And he never stops. [01:39:41] He's just like constantly going. [01:39:43] He's one of those people that just has that energy. === Kevin's Unstoppable Energy (15:23) === [01:39:45] And I wonder sometimes, where do you get it? [01:39:48] By the way, speaking of which, we're not going to stop. [01:39:51] We've got to keep going. [01:39:51] In fact, we'll take a quick 60-second break, but on the flip side, got some predictions for 2026. [01:39:57] I'd love to hear from you. [01:41:23] See blinds.com for details. [01:41:35] What do you have on the radar for 2026? [01:41:40] It is the 250th anniversary, the semi-quincentennial. [01:41:46] As we were just talking about this off the air, that's half a 500 semi-quincentennial, 250th year anniversary of the United States. [01:41:55] So it's going to be a big one. [01:41:57] I think it'd be, you know, it'll be interesting to see how, well, it's certainly different with President Trump in the office, how everything is going to look. [01:42:07] I mean, even the White House. [01:42:09] Even the White House at Christmastime and the way they celebrate things has been completely and it's like a 180 between this administration and the Biden White House, which is wild to watch. [01:42:22] But I think we could use a little bit of that injection of patriotism. [01:42:27] And I think it's much needed and will be well appreciated. [01:42:33] All right. [01:42:33] So we got a little bit of, and by the way, I don't care. [01:42:36] These can be doom or gloom and they can be positive as well. [01:42:40] Robin Texas says, I'm afraid Democrats will flip the house in the midterm elections. [01:42:45] Well, we talked about that yesterday. [01:42:51] That's high on our radar. [01:42:53] It's one of the things we're following and, of course, very much concerned about. [01:42:59] Rob says, capitalizing on historical midterm trends against the president's party and economic frustrations. [01:43:07] Well, and some of the fighting, the infighting and things that you're seeing within conservatives right now is not helpful. [01:43:15] And it's pulling us. [01:43:17] And by the way, I think that's designed. [01:43:20] All of that's by design. [01:43:22] Designed to pull us in so many different directions so that we, you know, we're ineffective. [01:43:28] And that's that's a real problem. [01:43:33] Republicans hold or narrowly expand their Senate majority. [01:43:37] And that's interesting. [01:43:38] All right. [01:43:40] What's your prediction for 2026? [01:43:42] It can be big. [01:43:44] It can be small, but we want to hear from you all. [01:43:46] 888727, B-E-C-K-N-88727, Beck, or Justin at JustinBarklay.com. [01:43:55] Grab yours, and we'll hear from someone smack dab in the middle of all the insanity in Minnesota. [01:44:02] Someone from a Glenn Beck affiliate coming up after this on the Glenn Beck program. [01:44:08] This is Glenn Beck. [01:44:11] The older I get, the more I think about trust. [01:44:14] I think about the people in my life who have my trust and earned my trust and the trust that I have placed in some people who I later learned abused that trust. [01:44:23] I know we're alike in that way. [01:44:24] We don't trust a lot of people anymore. [01:44:26] It's like we're all Ronald Reagan trust, but always verify to make sure we're not making a mistake. [01:44:31] I find it a little exhausting, quite honestly. [01:44:34] And that's why I started realestateagentsitrust.com. [01:44:37] I didn't have good experiences with buying and selling my homes. [01:44:40] So we built Real Estate Agents I Trust to introduce you to one of the thousands of agents all over the country that we work with that we have verified that they will help you have the most successful and good real estate transaction possible. [01:45:12] Get the stories the media buried this week, straight from Glenn. [01:45:16] Go ahead and sign up now at glennbeck.com. [01:45:37] A new website, a new app, a new way to understand the world we're living in. [01:45:42] Launching January 5th at Glenbeck.com. [01:45:48] All right, 2026 predictions rolling in as we wrap up the year. [01:45:53] And it's my honor and privilege to do that with you on the Glenbeck program today. [01:45:56] Justin Barkley, in for Glenn. [01:45:59] And if you want to give us one of your predictions, 888-727-BEC, B-E-C-K. [01:46:04] It could be good, bad, ugly. [01:46:05] I don't care. [01:46:06] Triple-8-727-BEC. [01:46:08] Justin at JustinBarklay.com. [01:46:11] It's JJ in Texas first up before we get to our guest. [01:46:14] JJ, what do you see for 2026? [01:46:17] You're on the Glenbeck program. [01:46:19] Well, Happy New Year and thank you for taking my call, Justin. [01:46:22] Thank you, sir. [01:46:23] You too. [01:46:24] I believe that to paraphrase the great Ronaldus Magnus, President Ronald Reagan, if the Republicans, when it comes to healthcare policy, will learn to color in bold colors and not pale pastels, as President Reagan used to say, and come up with something, not just beat around the bush around the edges, [01:46:54] but really come up with something that makes it more affordable, get rid of some of the competition limitations across state lines, things like that. [01:47:01] Something that will substantially change people's life for the better to the tune of $1,000, $2,000 a month. [01:47:07] I think we win. [01:47:09] The economy is looking like it could really take off next year with the things that he's implemented already. [01:47:17] Inflation is going to be reasonably under control for the foreseeable future. [01:47:22] So if we get health care, I think we do this. [01:47:26] I love that. [01:47:27] From your lips to God's ears, JJ, thank you so much for that prediction. [01:47:32] The key word I heard was if. [01:47:38] That's a tall order. [01:47:39] But man, you're absolutely right. [01:47:41] This is what Americans voted for. [01:47:43] Bold, massive action to completely turn the tide. [01:47:49] They've got to feel it. [01:47:51] And it can't be just talk, can't be just lip service. [01:47:55] We need bold action. [01:47:56] The president can pull that off along with Congress. [01:47:59] Congress is the trick there. [01:48:02] That'll certainly put us right where we need to be. [01:48:04] Let's go to Minnesota. [01:48:05] In fact, to one of the Glenbeck affiliates, Twin Cities News Talk in Minneapolis. [01:48:10] Our good friend John is on the phone with us right now. [01:48:12] John Justison, you've got the morning show there, John, where you talk about these stories on a daily basis. [01:48:18] You and I go back to Michigan ties at one point, but you and I have talked in the past about Governor Tim Walz, all the corruption there. [01:48:29] And I know you have a front row seat. [01:48:32] We talked to Lisa DeMuth earlier in the program about some of these things. [01:48:34] You have a front row seat to it, and I think a unique perspective. [01:48:38] So welcome in to the Glenbeck program. [01:48:41] Well, it's always great to talk with you, Justin, and thanks so much for having me on. [01:48:45] If I can give my 2026 prediction, it plays into what we're going to talk about. [01:48:49] I'm convinced that with the firestorm of fraud information, revelations coming out of Minnesota, that this is going to now spread nationwide. [01:49:00] I think as we head into next year, fraud, not just in Minnesota, but systemic fraud across the country, in the same way it's being perpetuated in this great state, is going to be exposed on a nationwide level. [01:49:13] That's what I think the big story is going to be heading into next year. [01:49:16] But great to join you. [01:49:17] Yes. [01:49:18] And I will say, John, you know, look, again, from your lips to God's ears, let's just say, because we're already starting to see, I don't think, I've been telling people all the last couple of days, look, this isn't just Minnesota, and it's not just Somalis. [01:49:32] This is any government program, any politician that's involved. [01:49:38] I won't even narrow it down to Democrats, although largely that's where this issue is. [01:49:43] And of course, unfortunately, I think it ties into election issues as well. [01:49:48] But yeah, we're starting to hear Ohio, Maine, and a couple other places. [01:49:53] Yeah, it's been really wild to watch what has transpired over the course of the past few weeks. [01:50:00] I've been on vacation. [01:50:01] I take vacation this time every single year, and typically there's nothing going on. [01:50:05] And I've never, ever seen this amount of news coverage this time of year. [01:50:09] And for those of us here in Minnesota, so much of what is being exposed on the national level for us, it's not new. [01:50:17] We've known about this stuff for years now. [01:50:21] We're very thankful that it's finally receiving the attention and certainly from the Trump administration to do something about it because nothing has happened here in Minnesota, despite all the lip service from Governor Tim Walz and his administration. [01:50:33] But the great tragedy in all of this is that it all could have been avoided, and we've known about it for years. [01:50:40] Hey, can you imagine, because I know we talked about this a little over a year ago, but could you imagine if Kamala and Walls would have won, what that would look like? [01:50:51] Because part of winning in 2026, look, I know we want results and we want them like yesterday, right? [01:50:57] We're very impatient. [01:50:58] I get that. [01:50:58] And frustrated sometimes. [01:51:00] But you just imagine what that would have been like. [01:51:03] I think it's important for us to look back at, gosh, the bullet we dodged. [01:51:08] Oh, it was a massive bullet. [01:51:11] Governor Tim Walz is a disaster. [01:51:14] He is an absolute partisan hack disaster. [01:51:18] And I am convinced that if they had won, again, what you're seeing in terms of the mentality that has driven the ability for the fraud to be committed, and that's really what we're talking about. [01:51:32] You know, these are ideology. [01:51:34] This is the belief system of Governor Tim Walz and Harris and Democrats for the most part. [01:51:38] If they had actually ended up in the White House, I mean, turning a blind eye to all of this that has been transpiring like it has here in Minnesota would have taken place on a scale at the national level that I don't know if we would have been able to recover from. [01:51:51] In the meantime, we still have to deal with Walls and his attempt to win a historic third term, if he even makes it to still be the nominee next year, which I don't think is going to happen at this point. [01:52:02] You know, we heard from Lisa DeMooth, the Speaker of the House, they're calling for his resignation. [01:52:07] We heard from, she's running for governor. [01:52:09] We heard from Mike Lindell, who's made that announcement earlier this week as well. [01:52:14] But you mentioned that it's really interesting. [01:52:17] What happens next? [01:52:17] You know, Walls. [01:52:19] Will he resign or will he have to be drunk kicking and screaming from the office? [01:52:24] The only way that he resigns or I think the first move you would see is him withdrawing from the governor's race. [01:52:34] You know, this would be a historic third term if he were to win. [01:52:38] No governor, since we changed the laws going back decades upon decades to four-year terms, no governor has won a consecutive third term. [01:52:45] And he was damaged goods before all of this erupted, Justin. [01:52:50] And now it's even worse, obviously. [01:52:52] So the pressure is going to have to come internally. [01:52:55] So if he ends up pulling out of the governor's race or there is a candidate that emerges to challenge him in the primary next year, that would be the first step. [01:53:04] It really is going to have to come internally from Democrats in Minnesota for him to step down. [01:53:11] If they feel like he is that damaging to the party, I could see it happen. [01:53:16] Now, whether or not that is the case and what has to transpire is, of course, the question regarding that because we just don't know what's going to happen now moving forward with all this exposure. [01:53:25] John Jassus on with us right now from Twin Cities News Talk in Minneapolis. [01:53:30] Let me ask you, we talk about the fraud. [01:53:32] The daycare is one. [01:53:33] We've heard about the autism fraud. [01:53:35] Where are the other places that the fraud is hiding, lurking that the administration needs to look into here? [01:53:44] So, specifically, we know that housing stabilization services, that was completely, that was shut down completely by the U.S. attorney here in Minnesota, Joe Thompson. [01:53:53] He came out and publicly said in the press conference that the entirety of housing and stabilization services program was fraudulent. [01:54:01] Transportation services is another area that needs to be examined. [01:54:06] The same type of fraud that has happened within autism and daycare centers, where you basically have phantom children client lists that are being billed to the states, you know, getting these millions of dollars in Medicaid funding. [01:54:20] But the same thing rings true when it comes to these bus services that are supposed to be allegedly transporting children to these various places, where we're fairly convinced that this is also happening within those services as well. [01:54:32] But I'll tell you, at this point, I'm personally convinced, and again, it's just my opinion. [01:54:38] I'm personally convinced that any Medicaid-funded, taxpayer-funded social service program here in Minnesota, every single one of them needs to be investigated at this point in time. [01:54:47] I feel like the problem is that systemic right now because it seems like every new investigation into any new service ends up showing fraud taking place. [01:54:57] I think all of it is corrupt at this point. [01:54:59] Yeah, you know, and we got a glimpse into what all that looks like with states refusing to give away their snap information. [01:55:06] Why wouldn't you do that? [01:55:07] I mean, that just seems obvious. === Ohio Medicaid Fraud Prediction (07:47) === [01:55:09] And when you make those types of moves, I think it's clear for folks. [01:55:14] John, where can people find you? [01:55:15] Because I know they're going to want to maybe tune in as this develops and get an on-the-ground picture and insight when you return on the fifth on Monday for all of this. [01:55:25] Yeah, well, of course, you know, Glenn Beck is on right after my weekly radio show, 6 until 9 a.m. Central Time on the iHeartRadio app on KTLK Minneapolis. [01:58:12] Wrapping up the last few minutes and moments here on the Glenn Beck Program of the Year, and with you and your predictions. [01:58:20] 888727-BECK Jay in Ohio, you're up next on the Glenback Program. [01:58:26] Hey, thanks for taking my call. [01:58:28] My prediction for this year is that they're going to find out Ohio, the amount of fraud in our Medicaid system, I'm calling in from Ohio, is going to be about double what's in Minnesota. [01:58:39] And the reason I say that is we have about a $40 billion line item in our annual state budget of about $100 million. [01:58:46] So call it 40%. [01:58:49] Two years ago, the CMS, which is the Health and Human Services Department that runs Medicaid Medicare, has to come out, who's supposed to come out with an annual report showing all the fraud, improper payments state by state. [01:59:01] Ohio was dead last with 43.3% improper payment rate on $40 billion equals $17.7 billion versus Minnesota's $9 billion. [01:59:14] And this is in a red state, supermajority. [01:59:16] And the reason it's going on is it goes back to 2013 when then Governor Rhino John Kasich took the Obama Medicaid expansion deal, if you remember that, which was Medicaid expansion is lower the bar, let everybody in. [01:59:31] And now our current Rhino, Governor DeWine, he was against it before he got in and saw how much money was flowing in from the federal coffers. [01:59:43] Uh-oh, are we losing Jay? [01:59:47] Sound like sound like the phone caught up. [01:59:50] That was an interesting prediction. [01:59:51] I'll give you another one here. [01:59:53] Let's go to Lorraine in New York. [01:59:54] You're on the Glenback program, Lorraine. [01:59:57] Hi. [01:59:59] My overall prediction is we're going to have some more sanity and civility in the coming year. [02:00:05] And that would be expressed for me in a couple of things. [02:00:09] And Elon Musk and President Trump will sort of reunite, and there will be a way to use the Doge revelations. [02:00:20] And then my second way it'll be expressed is somebody's going to come up with a physical science explanation of things that we thought of as only spiritual before. [02:00:32] Interesting. [02:00:34] Maybe Elon will be the guy to do that. [02:00:36] I'd love to see those two get back, get the band back together. [02:00:38] Thank you, Lorraine. [02:00:39] Steve in Florida, up next with a prediction. [02:00:42] You're on the Glenback program. [02:00:44] Yeah, my prediction to President Trump, one of the main reasons we voted for you is to clean up the sewer in Washington and not just Washington, D.C., but these states, like in Minnesota, and we're tired of the talk. [02:01:00] Pambonde, go on, Fox. [02:01:02] All right, stay there. [02:01:02] She was here in Florida with the Epstein stuff and she jack squawked. [02:01:07] And also release the Crackheads hard drive. [02:01:10] We're tired of the talk. [02:01:12] And president, that's right. [02:01:13] You got to be proactive. [02:01:15] And far too long, we have like Mr. Johnson no luevos reactionary to like a deliverance boy, the morning small on MSLSD with Mika. [02:01:25] We're sick and tired of it. [02:01:27] We're sick and tired of it. [02:01:29] President Trump, Harris Patel, talked to good game in the private sector, government gangsters. [02:01:35] Look, look at this, the hard drive, the Crackheads hard drive, burisma, board of burisma. [02:01:41] I'm running out of time, Steve. [02:01:43] But I appreciate what I hear you saying is don't just drain it, flush the swamp. [02:01:47] And I like that. [02:01:48] And we're going to see it. [02:01:49] Is that the prediction? [02:01:51] I think so. [02:01:51] Well, folks, as the clock strikes midnight and we're winding down to that moment, putting a wrap on things here at the Glenn Beck program for the year. [02:01:59] I appreciate you. [02:02:00] Always an honor to be here with you. [02:02:02] And it is just a privilege. [02:02:03] The best audience. [02:02:04] Glenn's got the greatest folks. [02:02:06] We're closing that chapter on another year. [02:02:09] And today we're looking forward for renew hope. [02:02:11] That's what I'm looking for. [02:02:12] I think lots of folks are as we move into 2026 and the 250th birthday of this nation, a quarter millennium since that bold declaration of independence, a milestone that calls us to celebrate how far we've come and to yet dream even bigger about where we're going. [02:02:33] So this year from coast to coast, we're going to honor this great nation, its founders, with parades, fireworks, and you in service to it all. [02:02:44] We appreciate you. [02:02:45] Justin in for Glenn today and the Glenn Beck program. [02:02:48] Love to catch up with you. [02:02:49] Justin atjustinbarkley.com. [02:02:51] I'm at Mr.JustinBarkley everywhere else. [02:02:53] Happy New Year and God bless.
