[00:04:55]  I mean, I grew up in the Pacific Northwest.
[00:04:58]  And, you know, so I've seen the Northern Lights before, and they are remarkable and amazing and everything else.
[00:05:05]  But I'm captivated by how many people.
[00:05:09]  I mean, the whole world, it seems, stopped to look up yesterday.
[00:05:13]  Phones came out.
[00:05:14]  People were calling each other.
[00:05:16]  And oh my gosh, get outside, get outside.
[00:05:21]  News calls it a very rare event, and it was the Northern Lights.
[00:05:26]  It's just this rippling band of color on the horizon dancing like, I don't know, like God's painting the sky and we're watching it in real time.
[00:05:37]  It's amazing.
[00:05:41]  But I wonder why it moves us so deeply.
[00:05:45]  And I don't think it's because most of us haven't seen it.
[00:05:54]  Is it possibly because we've forgotten how to look up?
[00:05:58]  We don't do that anymore.
[00:06:03]  When's the last time you sat around a campfire?
[00:06:06]  And I mean a campfire, you know, you're a place where there's no light pollution.
[00:06:12]  When was the last time you were sitting in a place where there was no light pollution?
[00:06:17]  And you could actually see the stars.
[00:06:19]  You know, when we're sitting around a campfire, we kind of look up and we and it always goes to the same place.
[00:06:27]  My gosh, the universe is so big.
[00:06:30]  We are so small.
[00:06:32]  What is why are we even here?
[00:06:36]  What is the point of all of it?
[00:06:38]  And if we don't look up, we don't really have that conversation.
[00:06:41]  We just grow more and more arrogant.
[00:06:46]  And lately, we, you know, we live under this sky of noise and screens and deadlines and digital light.
[00:06:56]  And maybe people were looking up yesterday because it's just suddenly you look up and you're like, oh my gosh.
[00:07:06]  And you're reminded that we're still so small.
[00:07:08]  The universe is so vast and alive.
[00:07:12]  And something inside of us wakes up for just a moment.
[00:07:17]  It's a touchgrass moment, you know?
[00:07:20]  But I think it's also more than that.
[00:07:25]  Today, as I look at, you know, it's trending on X today, trending everywhere.
[00:07:31]  And I think, wow, that's actually a really good sign.
[00:07:36]  It's a reminder that wonder still exists outside the algorithm.
[00:07:43]  And that's a good thing.
[00:07:45]  There's still things that man can't make that AI can't code and no influencer can sell.
[00:07:56]  It's more than just lights in the sky.
[00:08:00]  It's the universe whispering.

[00:08:43]  And, you know, my wife and I decided very, very quickly after having kids that we were going to go against the mold.
[00:08:52]  You know, I mean, we see, and I don't want to judge any other parents, but, you know, you see all these kids, you know, these kids have iPads.
[00:08:58]  These kids have, you know, just mind-numbing devices.
[00:09:03]  Even the toys, even the basic toddler toys are just mind-numbing these days.
[00:09:07]  And, you know, we decided as soon as we became parents, we didn't want to raise our kids like that.
[00:09:13]  I mean, my son was screen-free for, oh, gosh, three years before we kind of gave in a little bit.
[00:09:22]  And, you know, just after watching Charlie Kirk a couple months ago, you know, and all that that happened, I just decided to take a bigger role as a father and as a husband, you know, as far as raising these kids.
[00:09:36]  And, you know, we've decided to homeschool.
[00:09:39]  And, you know, obviously Texas makes it a lot easier to do that kind of stuff.
[00:09:42]  I know it's not as easy in other states, but just trying to take that example forward.
[00:09:50]  And, you know, I'm not a leader of some super PAC.
[00:09:53]  I'm not a leader of some political group, but I am a leader of my own family.
[00:10:01]  And that's the best that I can do.
[00:10:05]  And I also wanted to say just a lot of that, sure, Charlie spurred that on, but I want you to know I've been listening to you since I was probably 16 years old in high school.
[00:10:15]  I mean, you were the main reason I kind of discovered that your word is your bond, you know, and you are nothing without you and who you are and your word.
[00:10:26]  And that dramatically changed my life.
[00:10:30]  And I'm very grateful to you for that.

[00:11:02]  And the whole front row, you know, Bill Crystal and everybody got up and walked out.

[00:11:13]  So I am right there with you, brother.

[00:11:16]  Anyway, I'm calling in today because, like Dennis said, Charlie Kirk has changed the world for the better and forever.
[00:11:26]  I have a 17-year-old son who is engaged to be married.
[00:11:30]  He's getting married next year when he's 18, thank God.
[00:11:34]  And he wants to go off and follow in Charlie Kirk's steps.
[00:11:40]  I had the privilege and honor of taking both of my teenage boys to see Charlie Kirk at Legacy Church 30 days to the day before he was assassinated.
[00:11:50]  And that changed their lives.
[00:11:51]  They were doing nothing but talking to me about Charlie.
[00:11:53]  They were so interested about Charlie.
[00:11:55]  I said, well, you guys know who Charlie is.
[00:11:58]  And then now they're like, mom, I know who Charlie was.
[00:12:01]  He was us.
[00:12:03]  And it's just, but I'm scared about, you know, sending them out on the path.
[00:12:09]  I'm never going to say no to my children, but, you know, we're walking into places where people just sitting at a table saying, prove me wrong, could get you killed.
[00:12:19]  But this is what my son wants to do.
[00:12:20]  And I'm freaking out about it a little bit.
[00:12:22]  So, but you should be proud.
[00:12:26]  Yeah, you should be proud of your son.
[00:12:29]  I mean, you know, look, we freak out about our kids all the time.
[00:12:32]  I freak out about my kids.
[00:12:33]  Security, I freak out about, you know, are they eating?
[00:12:36]  And I freak out all the time about my kids.
[00:12:39]  And that's what we do as, you know, as parents.
[00:12:42]  And it, you know, I don't know why I believed this, but I just thought, you know, I don't know, when they turn 18, you know, you kind of like, you've done your part and they're like on their own life and you're back to, no, no, you're worried about them even more.
[00:12:56]  I just, it just doesn't stop.
[00:12:59]  But, you know, if your son has, if you have instilled principles in your son and he has good role models, does he have a good role model of a dad or a husband?
[00:13:14]  I'm divorced and his father, no, is actually a pizza craft.
[00:13:19]  All right.
[00:13:21]  Make sure he finds one.
[00:13:23]  Make sure you help him find and point out, you know, what a good husband is really like, what a good, you know, what a good father is actually like.
[00:13:34]  I mean, if he reads the Bible, I mean, I didn't really get this until, I don't know, you know, my third child.
[00:13:42]  But reading the scriptures, and if you really understand God, you understand how to be a good dad because he's the best dad there is.
[00:13:50]  He has consequences.
[00:13:52]  He's very clear on things.
[00:13:54]  He gives you advice.
[00:13:55]  Don't do that.
[00:13:56]  Do this.
[00:13:56]  Don't do that.
[00:13:57]  You know what?
[00:13:58]  That's going to cause all kinds of problems.
[00:14:00]  You know, there's forgiveness.
[00:14:03]  He's not vengeful.
[00:14:05]  He's not full of wrath.
[00:14:07]  He is full of clarity, but forgiveness.
[00:14:16]  And, you know, you know how to punish your kids if you know God.
[00:14:23]  He doesn't let you escape the punishment.
[00:14:25]  Otherwise you won't learn.
[00:14:28]  But he does it with love.
[00:14:30]  Anyway, I just make sure he has a good role model because if he doesn't, he's going to be, you know, especially guys.
[00:14:39]  We spend our whole life chasing our dad.
[00:14:46]  We want somebody, our dads, to say, good job.
[00:14:53]  We want that approval.
[00:14:56]  And if he doesn't have a dad in his life, where is he going to get it?
[00:15:00]  And how is he expected to be the man of the house if he didn't have a good man in the house?
[00:15:07]  He's got to find a good role model and learn everything he can from that role model.

[00:17:24]  She was given an assignment for her honors writing class to research using an AI engine that the school provides through their online curriculum that she's supposed to research a historical figure and then do a report, an essay.
[00:17:43]  So she told me she was upset because when she came from school, she could not get any information on the person she wanted to write about.
[00:17:51]  And I asked her, who is it?
[00:17:52]  She said, Charlie Kirk.
[00:17:54]  I was amazed that he had such an influence on her.
[00:18:00]  So I had her show me what she was getting, and she typed in, I'd like to do a report on Charlie Kirk.
[00:18:06]  And the engine kicked back.
[00:18:08]  You may want to pick a person of more historical significance.
[00:18:13]  And then you can suggest it.

[00:18:16]  I mean, a million people watched his funeral.
[00:18:19]  We watched his funeral, and we're Jewish.
[00:18:22]  We're Orthodox people.

[00:18:31]  Yeah, so I typed in some additional information into her query, and it pulled up some information for her to click on and go to some sources that she could take some notes on and cite them for her report.

[00:18:53]  The engine had cleared it out and said, pick somebody else.
[00:18:56]  What engine is this?
[00:19:00]  I don't know what it's called.
[00:19:02]  And she's at school, so she's got her Chromebook at school.
[00:19:06]  But it was somewhere.

[00:19:32]  You know, one of the things I've been watching on Grok, Grok is really getting really good and fair.
[00:19:39]  Once in a while, I'll just Google who is Glenn Beck.
[00:19:42]  Is he an extremist?
[00:19:44]  And I get all kinds of stuff back.
[00:19:46]  Grok is the first one that says, well, some people might think that he's an extremist, but that depends.
[00:19:55]  He seems to be constitutional and more libertarian-leaning.
[00:19:58]  And yes, he said some controversial things.
[00:20:00]  I mean, it is the most balanced that I have seen.
[00:20:05]  And that comes from Elon Musk saying truth is the most important thing.
[00:20:12]  And this is the scary thing about AI.
[00:20:15]  If we don't pay attention and we don't stop things like that, that has to be stopped.
[00:20:20]  Who are they to do that in school and public education?
[00:20:25]  I don't even, how did that even happen?
[00:20:27]  Ohio, how did that happen?
[00:20:30]  But, you know, these AI engines are being built.
[00:20:35]  And if you say diversity is number one, DEI is number one, fairness is number one, it will change history.
[00:20:46]  Okay.
[00:20:46]  It changes history.
[00:20:48]  And so when you are building an AI engine, you have to be extraordinarily careful.
[00:20:54]  And that is why, you know, I respect Grok and Elon Musk because the most important is the truth.
[00:21:03]  The truth.
[00:21:04]  Always pursue the truth.
[00:21:08]  Not today's truth, not what is true.
[00:21:12]  And once you start putting filters on those things, then it's not a search engine.
[00:21:18]  It's a propaganda machine.
[00:21:19]  It's not a tool.
[00:21:22]  It's using you.
[00:21:23]  It's making you into the tool it or whoever programmed wants you to be.
[00:21:30]  So, you know, if I'd love to know what that search engine is, who is behind it.
[00:21:36]  If that is an Ohio school thing, it should be stopped immediately.

[00:26:36]  In England, you can't do that in one year and expect people to just put up with it.
[00:26:42]  You can't, you know, America doesn't understand yet.
[00:26:46]  The world doesn't understand.
[00:26:47]  We're in World War III.
[00:26:48]  We're already in World War III.
[00:26:50]  I don't know when it becomes a hot war or even a war that we on our side recognize, but we are in World War III.
[00:26:59]  And that foe is not China.
[00:27:02]  That foe is militant Islam, period.
[00:27:06]  And, you know, when we have a situation to where people are when the government is just like, no, it's not a problem.
[00:27:15]  It's not a problem.
[00:27:16]  You know, you've got illegals all over.
[00:27:21]  It's not a problem.
[00:27:21]  It's not a problem.
[00:27:22]  It is a problem.
[00:27:25]  Don't tell me what the problems are not because we're the ones living it.
[00:27:31]  You're the experts who keep telling us, no, it's going to work out fine.
[00:27:35]  And it doesn't work out fine.
[00:27:36]  And it just gets worse and worse.
[00:27:37]  Oh, we can spend this money.
[00:27:39]  No, it looks like we can't spend this money.

[00:27:42]  No, looks like we can't afford this.

[00:27:45]  If we do this with Ukraine, it'll work out fine.

[00:27:50]  These endless wars, all of this stuff.
[00:27:52]  Don't tell me what the problem is.
[00:27:56]  Listen to the people and start talking to the people.
[00:28:00]  Honestly, this is the reason why I'm doing this today.

[00:28:08]  I need to know what's on your mind.
[00:28:11]  So I stay focused and clear on what America is saying.
[00:28:18]  Because I don't think, look, me taking phone calls is not a true representation of anything, but it does give me a sense of where you are as an audience, maybe not as America, but as an audience.

[00:29:37]  And I remember those old shows and, you know, the fusion of entertainment and enlightenment.

[00:29:48]  I remember I laughed a lot.
[00:29:49]  Oh, yeah.
[00:29:50]  Yeah, I know.

[00:29:52]  Those days are long dead.

[00:30:03]  I still work 40 hours a week.

[00:30:10]  I've been married for 55 years.
[00:30:11]  I have seven kids.
[00:30:13]  I've got a daughter.

[00:30:15]  I've got a daughter who's in her 40s, and she has severe TDS.
[00:30:24]  We don't, I mean, we're not cutting each other off.
[00:30:28]  She hasn't done that at all.
[00:30:30]  We're still very close as a family.
[00:30:33]  But she was down visiting the other day and got into a conversation with my wife.
[00:30:39]  And I wasn't in the room, but Kathy said it was just like listening to one of those young people out on the street that was being interviewed by the news media.
[00:30:49]  And then she was in tears about it.
[00:30:53]  My wife and my daughter both.
[00:30:55]  And I mean, I love her and I continue to support her.
[00:30:59]  She's a single woman, not by choice.
[00:31:02]  She just never found the right guy.
[00:31:05]  And I really think that's part of the problem because she started reading back when Trump was first running.
[00:31:12]  She started reading all of this stuff about him being misogynistic and all of that stuff.
[00:31:18]  Yeah.
[00:31:19]  And it's just gotten worse.
[00:31:22]  I'm at a loss.
[00:31:24]  I really am because I see the country doing better.
[00:31:29]  I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop, but I still feel like, at least right now, we're doing better as a whole.
[00:31:38]  But what oh my gosh, what do we do about our kids?
[00:31:42]  She went to Portland State University for the last two.
[00:31:47]  Well, yeah, for the last two years, she went to a little college in Idaho called Ricks for the first two years and Utah State.
[00:31:56]  And then she served a mission for our church in Brazil and came home.
[00:32:01]  But then she went to Portland State University, and it just seems to have gone downhill from there.
[00:32:08]  So, Dan, I think you are suffering from the same thing that almost all parents are suffering from.
[00:32:17]  If you're not suffering from this, then, I mean, God bless you, you know, get on your knees and thank God because you are a lucky, lucky family.
[00:32:26]  Everybody has this in their family.
[00:32:28]  I have it in my family.
[00:32:30]  And you have to ask yourself, what is your goal?
[00:32:36]  What is your goal with your daughter?
[00:32:38]  Your real goal.
[00:32:41]  My real goal is for us to be united eternally.
[00:32:46]  That's my goal.
[00:32:47]  That's my goal as a father has been to teach them that, et cetera.
[00:32:52]  And how is that going to happen with politics?
[00:32:58]  We just stay together as a family, regardless of what politics does.
[00:33:02]  Exactly right.
[00:33:03]  Exactly right.
[00:33:04]  I think we're in a place now where as parents, you can ask your kids, but it has to be honest.
[00:33:13]  It cannot be trying to win.
[00:33:15]  It has to be honest.
[00:33:16]  How did you get there?
[00:33:17]  I mean, I remember, you know, we've talked about this before and you didn't believe that before.
[00:33:22]  What's changed?
[00:33:23]  Can you help me with that?
[00:33:25]  I'd like to see what you were reading or what that was.
[00:33:28]  And just ask questions, but they have to be honest.
[00:33:32]  They can't be, you know, because I'm setting you up because I want to change your mind.
[00:33:39]  But keep a dialogue open with them and just love them.
[00:33:44]  Just love them.
[00:33:46]  Because if you do anything else, you're going to drive them away.
[00:33:50]  And then they're really lost.
[00:33:52]  Yeah.
[00:33:52]  So just love them.
[00:33:54]  When she was young, when she was young, I considered her one of the elect.
[00:34:01]  And the scripture says that in the last days, even the elect are going to be deceived.
[00:34:05]  And that's what I'm seeing.
[00:34:07]  But everything you've said, I'm doing.
[00:34:11]  I'm doing it that way because I know that.

[00:38:19]  And because of that, we had decided to move from Texas to Williamsburg, Virginia, and live in the historic triangle there with Yorktown and Jamestown.

[00:38:32]  We've been planning that for a little over a year, had our house in the market here in Texas and everything.
[00:38:38]  And after the election, at three in the morning, my wife and I were in bed with tears in our eyes saying, we just can't do this.
[00:38:49]  We can't move from a state like Texas to a state that has openly said that they want to become the California of the East.
[00:38:59]  And then thinking about what the founding fathers in Williamsburg would have thought of that.

[00:39:06]  I tell you, I hesitate to say this because everybody's decision is personal, but I think I would have made exactly the same decision.
[00:39:20]  There's two states in the union that I really, really trust, but both of them can change in a heartbeat, and that's Texas and Florida.
[00:39:31]  The other ones, there'd be good ones here and there, but they're all kind of dicey.
[00:39:36]  There's only two states that I know of that are crystal clear on what rights are and what it means.
[00:39:44]  And it's those two places.
[00:39:46]  And if we lose in 2026, things are going to be difficult.
[00:39:54]  If we lose in 2028, I just, I fear the backlash because they just think that Trump has just gone off the rails, that there are no legitimate investigations going on, that this is just all just vengeance.

[00:40:11]  These are legitimate investigations and they have to be solved.
[00:40:15]  And when you elect people like they did in Virginia who say, you know, we can, the only way that we can get people to change their mind is maybe, you know, have to kill them and watch their babies die in their arms because then they'll change their mind.

[00:41:20]  So I started heading back to the boat.
[00:41:23]  He stayed out there.
[00:41:25]  And then he turned around and could see me going back to the boat.
[00:41:31]  And what we didn't know was that there was a storm coming in and the current was changing and getting worse and worse.
[00:41:39]  Of course, I left early, so I didn't really have too much of a problem getting back on the boat.
[00:41:45]  But my husband saw me and looked like I was, you know, not going as quick.
[00:41:50]  And he starts coming after me.
[00:41:53]  He's got these big fans and he can catch me like that.
[00:41:56]  And you're supposed to stay together when you're snorkeling.
[00:41:59]  So he was keeping an eye on me, but he never caught me.
[00:42:03]  The current was getting worse.
[00:42:05]  He saw people on the boat, the cap, you know, some of the assistants, and they were getting into the water quickly to save people.
[00:42:14]  They had to save every single person on that that had gotten off the boat.
[00:42:20]  And my husband and I did not need, you know, we were okay.
[00:42:25]  Yeah.
[00:42:25]  And I attribute to listen.
[00:42:29]  No, you know, you should not attribute that listening to me.
[00:42:32]  You did exactly what you're supposed to do.
[00:42:34]  You did exactly what you're supposed to do.
[00:42:36]  And I'm glad to hear that story.

[00:47:43]  I never would have called this show if I didn't have a dream about speaking to you last night on the phone.
[00:47:48]  So I thought that was a prompting.
[00:47:49]  And I hope Steve will tell you that you're dreaming about Glenn.
[00:47:51]  Things aren't going well.
[00:47:53]  Wow.
[00:47:54]  I mean, you've got to raise your standards there.
[00:47:56]  My wife doesn't even dream about me.
[00:47:58]  Yeah.
[00:48:00]  Well, now here's a call.
[00:48:01]  I was like, well, I better jump on this.
[00:48:03]  So what we talked about in the phone call was George Washington.
[00:48:06]  I'm actually writing my PhD dissertation on George Washington.
[00:48:12]  And I never had a mixture of excitement and heartbreak when I heard about George AI because I was so thrilled about it, but then I was heartbroken that I wasn't involved in it.
[00:48:20]  And so I don't know.
[00:48:22]  I'm just calling about that because I don't know, when you're dreaming about Glenn Beck in the phone call, you know, I so just jumped on it.
[00:48:30]  Well, okay, so Paul, you're getting your PhD in history and specifically with George Washington, or just that's your final paper?
[00:48:41]  My focus is early American history.
[00:48:43]  My dissertation is on George Washington.
[00:48:46]  That is fabulous.
[00:48:47]  And what did you come away thinking about George Washington, learning about George Washington?
[00:48:54]  Well, I grew up in Pittsburgh.
[00:48:56]  So Washington is all over the Pittsburgh area because of the French and Indian War.
[00:49:01]  And you kind of wonder how much of it is legend and how much of it is true.
[00:49:04]  And then the more you look into it, you realize these things weren't written about him after or during the Revolution to, you know, pump him up.
[00:49:13]  These things actually were written minutes or weeks after it happened where pastors like Samuel Davies is writing after the Battle of Mongahela.
[00:49:22]  This man might be being saved for our future purpose.
[00:49:25]  And that's stuff that's happening 20 years before the revolution.
[00:49:29]  The more you're going to be able to do it.
[00:49:32]  Go ahead.
[00:49:33]  It is.
[00:49:34]  Isn't it amazing?
[00:49:37]  You look at George Washington, and I can't believe we lie about his teeth.
[00:49:45]  We lie about the cherry tree when he is the most honest, forthright, and heroic guy, I think, in all of American history.
[00:49:57]  I mean, he is one of a kind, and we lie about him, and we don't talk about all the things that happen that are absolutely real and just confounding miraculously.
[00:50:09]  Miraculous is a correct term.
[00:50:11]  It's shocking when you think of all of the incidents where his life, I know you had Celine Zito a couple months ago, and she was talking about the incident in Butler where he was shot at when he was 21 years old.
[00:50:23]  A bullet flies in between him and a guide inches away.
[00:50:27]  I mean, it's not just American history that's altered if he dies before the war.
[00:50:33]  Everything.
[00:50:33]  World history is altered.
[00:50:35]  I know.
[00:50:37]  So what is the worst thing you could find about George Washington?
[00:50:40]  I could only find that his mother said that he ate a lot of ice cream and it was too extravagant.
[00:50:45]  His mother's not a good judge of character.
[00:50:47]  I mean, she's not the best.
[00:50:48]  Not at all.
[00:50:49]  No.
[00:50:50]  Kind of went through life.
[00:50:51]  You know, the more you learn about her, the more I think George Washington's mom probably sounded a little like that.
[00:50:59]  You know what I mean?
[00:51:01]  Through the century.
[00:51:02]  She's not a likable person.
[00:51:05]  Yeah, it's probably why he went on an adventure so early, just to get out of the house.
[00:51:09]  She kind of chased him out.
[00:51:11]  Yes, yes.
[00:51:13]  What's the worst thing you learned about him?
[00:51:16]  I don't know.
[00:51:17]  It's hard to when you it's hard to find the dark when the light is so bright with him.
[00:51:22]  I mean, the are you aware that one of the reasons that he ended slavery, I mean, ended his own personal slavery was a dream that he had.
[00:51:33]  That he was being his wife's dream, and he he told her, I'm rewriting the will.
[00:51:39]  And that's when he's on his deathbed.
[00:51:40]  He brings out the two wills, and he brings out the new will that he wrote that frees the slaves after he had this dream.
[00:51:51]  Where did you get what source is that?

[00:55:17]  Real truth is outside of me.

[00:55:37]  When you read the Federalist Papers, when you actually read the words of Frederick Douglass, not the interpretation of Frederick Douglass, but you read the words of Frederick Douglass, you see a guy who's really struggling, trying to figure it out.

[00:55:54]  Same with Lincoln, not perfect.
[00:55:56]  Same with the founders, not perfect.
[00:55:59]  They're really struggling, and that's not even understood, I don't think, in today's world.
[00:56:10]  The struggle for truth, the struggle for thinking.
[00:56:12]  You're not taught to critically think anymore.
[00:56:16]  You know, you're conform, conform, conform.
[00:56:19]  Write this down, kids.
[00:56:20]  It'll be on the test.

[00:56:29]  You decide to dissent and go, no, I don't think that's what it meant.

[00:56:44]  And I think also universities, when you're learning history, I mean, look, if you want to be a teacher, you got to go to university.

[00:56:58]  But boy, I don't know how you do it.

[00:57:02]  Because one of the things that happens is they strip you of awe.

[01:12:00]  And that's what that was all about.
[01:12:02]  So I may have not come out as strongly as I should have.

[01:13:20]  I think it's a little bit overstating it, honestly, when it came to what the threat was.

[01:13:27]  And just like, you know, a lot of officials do, he was talking about a story.

[01:13:42]  And I will say that I am sympathetic to the case that at times the Trump administration talks more than they should about these things in various different topics, a lot of times claiming powers that they don't have in interviews when these aren't even things that could happen, but there's a lot of big talking going on at times.
[01:14:07]  And I don't like that particular thing.
[01:14:08]  You know, it's funny, Anthony, I think you'd be probably surprised at how many times we have said on and off the air, this is getting close to constitutional problems.
[01:14:19]  And if it goes any farther, you know, we're going to be on the other side.
[01:14:23]  I mean, we watch this very carefully, very carefully.
[01:14:28]  And we're, I mean, we're debating some things right now, you know, that I don't know how to make sense of, but I don't have to make sense of it yet because it hasn't happened.
[01:14:39]  But if it does happen, then I got to look at it and go, okay, it's unconstitutional.

[01:14:50]  We really try really hard, but you don't hear that.

[01:18:21]  And I will say, like, I have a disconnect a little bit internally that it's probably something that he's noticing and maybe others are as well.
[01:18:29]  Where like stuff like when the president comes out and goes after a giant media company editing his interviews, like I, the BBC one that has just come out was blatantly terrible.
[01:18:41]  And I, that one really did feel defamatory.
[01:18:44]  Some of them are just like things that Donald Trump doesn't like.
[01:18:47]  And some of it makes me feel kind of good inside emotionally.
[01:18:52]  But I also really am hesitant to be excited about a president going after individual media companies in a country like ours.
[01:19:00]  Number one, where I'm doing a show and I can see that we've done the show during Democratic presidents and had these pressures that we didn't like.
[01:19:08]  But also in a country with the First Amendment, it's a risky road.
[01:19:11]  And I don't think he's crossed lines yet.
[01:19:14]  Glenn, I don't know if you do, but I hear concerned about it at times.
[01:19:20]  I, you know, I didn't like the tariffs on Canada for playing Ronald Reagan.
[01:19:27]  What is that?
[01:19:27]  I don't even know if those actually went into effect.
[01:19:30]  He said he was going to do that.
[01:19:31]  I don't even know if they went into effect.
[01:19:33]  Right, exactly.
[01:19:35]  But, you know, if you look at the debate when we were going on the, what is it, the Alien and Sedition Act with James Madison.
[01:19:49]  They, I mean, they went round after round after round.
[01:19:53]  And some of the most compelling arguments were you can lie.
[01:20:00]  You can lie about government officials.
[01:20:03]  Okay.
[01:20:04]  You can.
[01:20:05]  You can lie about them.
[01:20:07]  And when I first read that, I'm like, wow, why would what?
[01:20:11]  But you look at their reasoning in the argument.
[01:20:14]  They're like, the government cannot be the arbiter of truth.
[01:20:18]  It cannot be.
[01:20:21]  So if you lie about somebody outside of the government, if you lie about an individual and you're smearing them, but if you're lying about the government, you cannot put the government as the arbiter of truth because they have too much power.
[01:20:35]  And so I don't like the fact that the government can come after you.
[01:20:45]  Donald Trump as an individual, you know, if you're saying things that are absolute lies about me, that BBC thing was just somebody passed.
[01:20:55]  Yeah, it was so bad, so egregious.
[01:20:57]  Also in a country that doesn't have a First Amendment and those protections, which is maybe these companies should consider pushing for one in their nations because, you know, when you have those, it's a lot easier to sue in that way over a public figure there.
[01:21:13]  And I think, you know, if you're a public figure, you have a right to sue.
[01:21:17]  I do not want the government going in and saying you can't do Jimmy Kimmel, FCC, you have to get off.
[01:21:24]  There's no space for that.
[01:21:26]  No space for that, no matter what he says.
[01:21:29]  No space for that.
[01:21:31]  But when it comes to, hey, you're saying this and it's a lie and you're defaming me, I think you should be able to sue.

[01:29:22]  Let me ask you a couple questions.
[01:29:23]  Which one do you like more, the $2,000 stimulus check or the 50-year-old mortgage or 50-year mortgage idea?
[01:29:31]  Which one is, if you had to pick one, which one would you pick?
[01:29:34]  If I had to pick one, I would pick the $2,000 tariff check.

[01:29:40]  I don't think I, I think I'd pick the 50-year mortgage.
[01:29:42]  To me, the 50-year mortgage should be available if some bank wants to offer it.
[01:29:47]  It's up to a private.
[01:29:48]  I don't know what the government has to do with any of this, but if a bank wants to say, hey, 50-year mortgage, here you go.

[01:30:37]  But he knows he's in trouble.

[01:30:41]  He can't turn the economy around as quickly as he did the last time.
[01:30:47]  It's not 2016 anymore.
[01:30:50]  And so, you know, everybody was expecting and voting for him to turn things around.
[01:30:54]  And the price of gas has gone down.
[01:30:55]  The price of eggs have gone down.
[01:30:57]  But you're still, you know, now we're at 3% inflation.
[01:31:01]  Well, okay.
[01:31:02]  What about going the other direction, getting the prices down to where they were, you know, in 2020?
[01:31:08]  And gas has done that, but very few other things have done that.
[01:31:12]  Yeah.
[01:31:12]  And I think, you know, understandably, it's a central part of his platform.
[01:31:16]  The tariffs have been a big focus.
[01:31:17]  He's talked a lot about it.
[01:31:18]  It's also one of those things that, you know, there's a lot of disagreement on.
[01:31:21]  So I think that's where he's drawn, right?
[01:31:24]  Like that's him.
[01:31:25]  He likes being in the fight.
[01:31:26]  He likes being out there talking about these things.
[01:31:29]  So that I think has, because it's not a particularly popular issue, it has made his economic approval rating ratings more difficult, I think.
[01:31:40]  And I think people are feeling, you know, some of the stuff being echoes from previous administration.
[01:31:47]  You know, with the spending and everything else, that's still the major cause of price increases, not tariffs as of yet.
[01:31:54]  But, you know, some of that, you know, isn't helpful as well.
[01:31:57]  And you try to throw in $2,000 at people.
[01:32:00]  Again, I don't know that that's even going to pass.
[01:32:03]  He can't just do it.
[01:32:04]  You know, it's not something that he can just do on his own.
[01:32:06]  He can just hand out thousands of dollars in checks.
[01:32:09]  I don't think.
[01:32:10]  I've seen a constitutional justification for that.
[01:32:14]  So I don't think that's what he's even planning.
[01:32:16]  I'm sure he's planning on trying to get something passed to do that if that comes up.
[01:32:20]  But you're right.
[01:32:21]  We don't have the money.
[01:32:24]  I am not a person who wants to solve our debt problems with increased quote-unquote revenues to government.
[01:32:29]  I don't think that's the correct way to do it.
[01:32:31]  But if you have those revenues, if just things are going great and you get more money in, you're right.
[01:32:37]  I'd rather have that dished out toward the debt, at least as long as there's a long-term plan to address it.
[01:32:43]  I mean, I don't know that paying 1% or 2% of our debt off is even better than honestly just dishing out a bunch of money to people.
[01:32:53]  But I will say it is what we would refer to as a, you know, there's wealth.
[01:33:00]  It is going from one place to another and we are redistributing it.
[01:33:03]  That is what is occurring here.
[01:33:05]  And it used to be something we had a big problem with.
[01:33:08]  It's just, again, something he threw out.
[01:33:10]  Maybe it's not even a hardcore proposal, but we should be concerned about going down that path long term.
[01:33:20]  What is he going to do?
[01:33:21]  Honestly, what can he do?
[01:33:24]  Well, we talked about this a little bit yesterday, and one thing we didn't get a chance to get to that I would love to get your thoughts on is I think this is one of the reasons he's really embraced going all in on AI.
[01:33:38]  I think he sees this and the opportunity of leading the world in AI as a way to grow the economy out of the problems that we're facing here.
[01:33:49]  And that's usually his approach.
[01:33:50]  You think that that's part of it?
[01:33:51]  It's always his approach.
[01:33:53]  Yeah.
[01:33:53]  I think that's 100% what it is.
[01:33:56]  He's been convinced that this is the future.
[01:33:59]  And if that works and we're the leader in it, then we will grow our way out because of the taxes and the jobs and everything else.
[01:34:08]  And we could dwarf through a really robust economy.
[01:34:14]  We could grow and grow and grow to where even just this debt doesn't seem so bad.
[01:34:18]  That's absolutely his plan.
[01:34:20]  But that's a long way away.
[01:34:22]  And getting there.
[01:34:24]  Did you see the story in Texas about the server farm that's all built, ready to go?
[01:34:30]  They're still working on the power plant, but they have all the permits and they're actually building the power plant.
[01:34:36]  Did you see that?
[01:34:37]  No.
[01:34:37]  In Texas, they don't have anybody taking it yet.
[01:34:41]  What do you mean?
[01:34:41]  They say they built a server farm with no company attached to it.
[01:34:46]  No company attached to it.
[01:34:47]  Texas is, and it's not a Texas thing.
[01:34:50]  It's a bunch of billionaire.
[01:34:52]  Texans.
[01:34:53]  They're like, we'll build you a server farm.
[01:34:55]  And so they're building these buildings with power plants because they want all of them to be in Texas.
[01:35:02]  And they're saying don't panic, but you would think that there would have been takers for that immediately.
[01:35:10]  And, you know, it's been offered and nobody has snapped it up yet.
[01:35:15]  Hmm.
[01:35:15]  I wonder what concerns me a bit.
[01:35:17]  Obviously, there's a lot of economic considerations as to, you know, you got to figure out what the cost is.
[01:35:22]  And there's a lot to consider there.
[01:35:25]  But, you know, it's interesting.
[01:35:26]  I mean, there is a theory that this is really going to be a bubble and we're going to see a situation like we did in 2000 where the internet kind of blew up on everybody.
[01:35:35]  And it's not that AI, the internet never came, right?
[01:35:38]  It's certainly a big part of our lives, maybe all of your life, if you happen to be under the age of 30 or so.
[01:35:45]  But the internet came.
[01:35:47]  It did change the world, but it took a while.
[01:35:49]  And we had a collapse before it really did what everyone was promising it was going to do.
[01:35:56]  So I told you yesterday I'm reading 1929, the new book, 1929.
[01:36:03]  It is fabulous.
[01:36:04]  You got to listen to it or read it.
[01:36:05]  It's just fabulous.
[01:36:07]  But they're describing what the exuberance was like in 1929 and how, you know, it's never going to go down.
[01:36:19]  It's never going to go down.
[01:36:20]  Do you know?
[01:36:20]  I mean, look at all of the things on the horizon.
[01:36:22]  Look at all the new technology that is happening.
[01:36:24]  Look at the people that are moving in.
[01:36:26]  And, you know, we've got so many cars and so many refrigerators to sell and everything is changing and it's just up, And everybody bought into it.
[01:36:36]  I mean, it was, I knew the run-up to the crash of 29 was bad with exuberance.
[01:36:44]  I had no idea it was this bad.
[01:36:46]  I mean, they were openly calling it stock gambling.
[01:36:54]  People were taking money, borrowing money, and then they would invest it in a company, but they would watch it as it would go during the day.
[01:37:05]  And they would make several trades, you know, in a week because I hear this one's hot and we're going to gain a little here and then we'll pull it out and then we'll put money over here.
[01:37:15]  I mean, it was gambling.
[01:37:16]  It literally was gambling.
[01:37:18]  And it was just consuming everybody.
[01:37:22]  And the real problem is, is the banks decided that they would give loans for playing the stock market.
[01:37:29]  And so all of these banks are just so overleveraged.
[01:37:32]  And that's kind of what I feel like here.
[01:37:34]  These, you know, we're really excited about, you know, the future of AI.
[01:37:39]  Some of us are also equally as terrified.
[01:37:42]  But it is going to happen.
[01:37:45]  I just don't know how it's going to happen and when it's going to happen.
[01:37:50]  And there just seems to be so much money sloshing around in the system and we don't even have the power units.
[01:37:57]  You see, there's another server farm that has just been built and it's sitting empty and has been sitting empty for a while because it's in California.
[01:38:04]  A, nobody wants to build a server farm in California.
[01:38:07]  B, they didn't connect it to its own power plant.
[01:38:11]  So California, you can't put a California.
[01:38:14]  You're going to really, you're going to suck all that energy when you already have brownouts and then the server farm is just going to go down every once in a while.
[01:38:21]  That's completely unworkable.
[01:38:23]  Let me just interrupt real quick for a quick message from Gavin Newsom 2028 because there's never been a man more clearly running for president.
[01:38:33]  And also, you know, this is a guy.
[01:38:35]  We need people to be aware of what it's like in California and what they're dealing with there.
[01:38:40]  You're right.
[01:38:40]  It would be insane to build these types of facilities there, knowing what California will likely do to you.
[01:38:47]  And, you know, you're right.
[01:38:48]  I think we both have the same concerns on AI.
[01:38:52]  There's a lot of bad that comes along with it.
[01:38:55]  But, you know, there is a lot of promise as well.
[01:38:57]  And there probably will be really good developments that come out of it.
[01:39:00]  And it probably will take over the world and do all the major amazing things that they say it's going to do, along with a lot of really terrible ones, just like the iPhone.
[01:39:08]  But, you know, the path there is not, it's not, it's not linear.
[01:39:14]  It's not this wonderful upswing.
[01:39:17]  Something's going to happen.
[01:39:18]  And you look at the way our economy is structured right there.
[01:39:21]  Wow, the bet is big on AI.
[01:39:23]  I mean, it's really the only bet anyone's making right now.
[01:39:26]  I know.
[01:39:28]  Can I switch topics here for a second?
[01:39:31]  Sotheby's is having a big auction, and something really, really important in the art world is going up for sale.
[01:39:40]  It is a solid 18 karat gold toilet.
[01:39:43]  Now, not the toilet that you might have heard before.
[01:39:46]  That one was stolen.
[01:39:47]  They never found it.
[01:39:49]  It's just the gold is worth $10 million.
[01:39:52]  It's going up for sale.
[01:39:53]  This artist, he's some, you know, cultural phenomena, according to Sotheby's.
[01:40:01]  He took gold, melted it down, and made it into a gold throne.
[01:40:05]  Okay.
[01:40:07]  Apparently, it's a statement on the excess of capitalism.
[01:40:11]  Yeah, but I think the real statement isn't in the art.
[01:40:16]  I think the real statement is in us.
[01:40:18]  You know, have you ever heard of DeCromp, Stu?
[01:40:22]  He was an artist in the 1920s, and he did a urinal, and he was making fun of the art world.
[01:40:33]  And he just took a urinal out of out of a men's restroom and then put it on the wall and called it art.
[01:40:42]  And he was mocking the art world, mocking them, saying, you know, you can call anything art.
[01:40:51]  And, you know, and as long as you like it, then it goes up on value.
[01:40:54]  Well, the art world critics decided, oh, well, two can play at that game.
[01:40:58]  We love that.
[01:40:59]  That is art.
[01:41:00]  That is beautiful art.
[01:41:02]  And it became one of the most famous art pieces around.
[01:41:04]  Now they're doing it with the toilet, which should just tell everybody, you know, this whole thing is a con.
[01:41:12]  It's a con.

[01:41:14]  The art world is a con.
[01:41:17]  And this comes from the 100th most important person in the world of art.

[01:41:44]  It's like all these Hollywood movies that make these grand statements against capitalism wind up lining their pockets with millions of dollars.

[01:41:55]  And they hate themselves when they have to spend it.
[01:41:57]  They just hate themselves.
[01:41:59]  You know, this artist, he just hates capitalism, but somehow or another, he got enough.
[01:42:04]  Now, remember, the last toilet sold for the same.
[01:42:07]  And so the last toilet was like $10 million.
[01:42:10]  So he had $10 million.
[01:42:11]  Then that toilet was stolen.
[01:42:13]  And so he's made another one with another $10 million worth of gold.
[01:42:17]  So this starving artist somehow or another has coughed up $20 million to make two gold toilets, but he hates capitalism in Richmond.
[01:42:28]  They're just so horrible.
[01:42:31]  All right, let me tell you about Tunnel to Towers.
[01:42:34]  On September 11th, 2001, fireman Steven Siller ran through the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel in full gear to reach the towers.
[01:42:42]  He never made it home, but his legacy lives on.

[01:50:11]  The rest of them would square a lot of C's and D's on their report cards as far as I was concerned.

[01:50:17]  There's always been people who like and dislike presidencies and their policies, but the hatred for Donald Trump is something that I've never seen in the country towards anybody or anything.
[01:50:31]  And now, to get to my question, and I always think there's at least 40% on either side that are locked in, but there's 20% in the middle.
[01:50:39]  If we go back to 2015, I don't believe you were a strong supporter of Donald Trump at the time.
[01:50:45]  I always have been.
[01:50:48]  Yeah.
[01:50:49]  I was the opposite.
[01:50:53]  That's where I'm getting to my question.
[01:50:54]  There's a group of people who could have continued to hate Donald Trump, but you didn't.
[01:51:01]  And I don't believe Donald Trump has changed all that much since he came down the escalator.
[01:51:07]  And that's why I have continued to support him, but you didn't.
[01:51:10]  And you changed.
[01:51:10]  But you could have gone to the dark side, but you didn't.
[01:51:13]  So how do we get this group?
[01:51:15]  How do I get to them?
[01:51:17]  What do you have to see?
[01:51:18]  How do you see something that's sincere?
[01:51:21]  But the hatred is so strong.
[01:51:24]  Okay, there has to be a couple of things.
[01:51:26]  First of all, you have to be willing to be wrong.
[01:51:30]  Most people are not willing to be wrong.
[01:51:33]  They've invested too much, especially at this point, 2016 or 17 when I said something.
[01:51:39]  That was a lot easier.
[01:51:42]  It was probably as late as 2018.
[01:51:44]  It was a lot easier because, you know, I only had a couple of years invested in that.
[01:51:48]  I liked Donald Trump before.
[01:51:49]  I thought he was a really nice guy.
[01:51:52]  But then when he was going to become president, he had absolutely no track record.
[01:51:57]  He was a New York liberal.
[01:51:59]  I didn't believe he was going to do any of those things.
[01:52:02]  I didn't think he was actually serious about any of it.
[01:52:05]  And then you would see these things that he would do, and you're like, okay, this is not good.
[01:52:10]  This is not good.
[01:52:11]  I also saw him as a reaction.
[01:52:14]  Stu, I bet you remember the show.
[01:52:16]  I was on CNN when I said this.
[01:52:18]  That's how long ago it was.
[01:52:21]  I said, if we elect Barack Obama, the next president is going to be somebody who has like a big gravy stain on his tie and it's just like, yep, I just let it all hang out, you know, and, you know, we'll burp or fart and just, it won't matter because it's just, he's real.
[01:52:43]  That's who I am.
[01:52:46]  Well, you know, he doesn't have a gravy stain on his tie and he doesn't burp and fart.
[01:52:49]  I mean, I'm sure he does, but privately, he is that guy.
[01:52:53]  He is that guy.
[01:52:55]  And that made me very, very nervous.
[01:52:58]  But if you remember, during that time, I said, I want to be wrong.
[01:53:03]  I'm not, I was too arrogant.
[01:53:05]  I'm not wrong, but I want to be wrong.
[01:53:07]  And if I'm wrong, I'll be the first to admit it.
[01:53:10]  So the first thing that has to happen is you have to be willing to be wrong.
[01:53:15]  If you're not willing to be wrong, nothing's going to change your mind.
[01:53:20]  Two, you have to be open to the facts.
[01:53:25]  And you take, at least this is what I did.
[01:53:28]  I have always taken people at their word.
[01:53:31]  If they say they're going to do it, okay, let's watch them.
[01:53:37]  And if they do it, great.
[01:53:38]  If they don't do it, you know, then I know exactly who they are.
[01:53:43]  If they're threatening you, I always take it seriously.
[01:53:47]  What happened is people started taking Donald Trump seriously because he is a performer and he's really funny.
[01:53:54]  They started taking him seriously or literally.
[01:53:58]  Or literally, and they should have just taken him seriously.
[01:54:04]  And if you, what happened to me was I saw him do things that I didn't think he would do.
[01:54:12]  I saw him take stands that I thought, wait a minute, there's no way I didn't believe he would do that for a second.
[01:54:17]  And the last one that happened was moving the embassy to Israel.
[01:54:22]  Because I have heard every president say they were going to do at least every conservative president my whole life.
[01:54:27]  You know, we're going to recognize.
[01:54:28]  And then they never do it.
[01:54:30]  And that was one of the things I said when he was talking about, you know, and I'll move the embassy to Jerusalem.
[01:54:35]  And I'm like, yeah, sure, you will.
[01:54:37]  And then when he did it, I'm like, you know what?
[01:54:39]  I've seen this, this, this, this, all things that I swore he would never do.
[01:54:44]  And he's doing them.
[01:54:45]  I thought he would do these things and he's not doing them.
[01:54:49]  I'm just, I'm just wanting to be right by standing in this place.
[01:54:54]  No, I was wrong.
[01:54:56]  And so I admitted on the air, I have to tell you, I can't believe I'm saying this, but I was wrong about Donald Trump.
[01:55:02]  I think too, you know, and this is, I think, goes along to trying to persuade people today is back in 2016, 2015, when a lot of the stuff was going on, and I was, I felt the same way as you did, Glenn, at the time.
[01:55:17]  We were projecting what he would be as a president.
[01:55:20]  We didn't know, right?
[01:55:21]  Like we were taking his public stances, him running for president in other parties, him making public statements that seemed very, very liberal to all of us.
[01:55:31]  And, you know, and we had to project whether he would do those things that he kind of always believed or like that maybe some of the things that he was doing now were going to hold.
[01:55:40]  I mean, we talk about him naming Supreme Court justices that wind up overturning Roe versus Wade.
[01:55:45]  That is a big piece of evidence that should change your mind.
[01:55:49]  If your opposition, though, to him is, I think he's a right-wing fascist that doesn't care about women's rights.
[01:55:58]  I think there's a large portion of the population at this point who is just a lost cause on this one.
[01:56:04]  Their reaction to him is not because they were projecting what he might be and then had their opinion changed.
[01:56:12]  Their position is made up by what he is.
[01:56:15]  They don't like that.
[01:56:16]  And Donald Trump is not going to change from that.
[01:56:18]  So it's going to be very difficult, I think, to win some of those people over.
[01:56:23]  Well, they're not putting any new information in either.
[01:56:26]  They're just reinforcing, I mean, the guy's not a Nazi.
[01:56:29]  How are you a Nazi and yet you're working with the Jews?
[01:56:35]  You fundamentally don't understand what a Nazi was.
[01:56:40]  You know, how do you square he's a misogynist who doesn't like women when he is surrounded by some of the smartest women I have seen around the president?
[01:56:55]  I mean, isn't what's her name, the first chief of staff, a woman chief of staff?

[01:57:50]  And if there's new evidence, can we just agree that on that particular piece of evidence that you'll go, okay, point.

[01:58:14]  And then it starts to chip away and then people start to say, wait a minute, what is it that I do?

[01:58:22]  You know you you, you know there are, there are fine people on both sides.
[01:58:27]  That is the easiest thing to disprove.
[01:58:30]  So people either have not done the homework or they're just being dishonest.
[01:58:39]  They can see what the truth is and then they'll come up with some way to still work it out in their head because they don't want to be wrong.
[01:58:51]  And I don't know if they can even vocalize it that way.
[01:58:54]  They just think they're doing the right thing.
