[00:04:59] If I were writing the speech for Donald Trump, I want to share it with you. [00:05:04] This is what I would have him come out and say: My fellow Americans, today we stand together at the dawn of a new chapter in our nation's history. [00:05:13] This moment is not just about a new administration, it is about a new commitment to the founding principles that built this republic. [00:05:21] It's about the restoration of power to where it rightly belongs with you, the American people. [00:05:27] Far too long, our government has drifted from its purpose. [00:05:30] Too often, it's overreached, overtaxed, overspent, and overwhelmed the very citizens it was created to serve. [00:05:39] Today, that era of excess ends. [00:05:43] The time has come to reaffirm the truth that our rights come not from government, but from God. [00:05:49] Government doesn't create, it can't invent, it can't inspire. [00:06:07] For decades, the bloated federal bureaucracy has grown unchecked, sapping the vitality of our economy and the strength of our communities. [00:06:27] But today, I pledge to you to dismantle what has become an unaccountable administrative state. [00:06:35] And I'm going to begin with closing the Department of Education, returning its power of teaching our children to the parents, to the local communities, to the state government where it belongs. [00:06:45] Washington, D.C. has no business deciding what our children learn or how they're taught. [00:06:52] But I'm not going to stop there. [00:06:54] Any department or agency that is ineffective, inefficient, or usurps the rights of the states or the people will face the same scrutiny and same end. [00:07:05] The balance of power has shifted too far from the people to the unelected officials who believe they answer to no one. [00:07:16] So let me be clear. [00:07:18] They answer to the president. [00:07:20] And as your chief executive, I answer to you. [00:07:23] The administrative state will be reduced in size and scope. [00:07:27] Those who think today that they can outlast this administration and maintain the status quo will find that the days of faceless power are over. [00:07:38] Now, the national debt, it's a silent thief. [00:07:42] That's all it is, robbing future generations of their prosperity. [00:07:46] Overspending has put us on a perilous path and no responsible leader can allow it to continue. [00:07:52] We will balance the federal budget by making government smaller, smarter, and more focused. [00:07:58] Programs that don't deliver results are going to be eliminated. [00:08:02] Fraud, waste, and abuse will be rooted out. [00:08:05] And as we reduce the size of government, we are going to unleash the potential of the private sector to drive innovation, create jobs, and build wealth. [00:08:16] To those who say it can't be done, I say this. [00:08:19] Watch us. [00:08:21] This is not a time for excuses, but bold action. [00:08:24] We are going to leave our children not a legacy of debt, but a legacy of opportunity. [00:08:31] Now, no American who abides by our laws should ever live in fear of the government. [00:08:37] But today, far too many Americans do. [00:08:40] Whether it's political persecution, administrative overreach, or an unbalanced justice system, many have been silenced or crushed by the weight of this government that was supposed to serve them. [00:08:52] I'm going to ensure that justice is blind, fair, and free from political influence. [00:08:59] Those who broke our laws on either side of the aisle, they will be held accountable. [00:09:05] But let me also say this, political persecution will end on my watch. [00:09:09] It has no place in a free society. [00:09:12] We're going to restore common law in our courtrooms, common sense in our schools, and common decency in our public discourse. [00:09:20] We're going to ensure that the Bill of Rights is not just words on paper, but a living promise to every American. [00:09:26] A nation without borders, a nation without laws is a nation that does not exist. [00:09:34] For far too long, our borders have been porous, leaving us vulnerable to the trafficking of drugs, children, and human lives. [00:09:42] This is not compassion. [00:09:44] This is chaos. [00:09:46] And it ends now. [00:09:48] We're going to secure our borders. [00:09:50] We're going to enforce our laws. [00:09:52] We are going to deport those who have entered illegally. [00:10:25] We're also going to end the endless wars abroad because they've drained our resources and diverted our focus from our own people. [00:10:32] We're going to bring our troops home from the conflicts all over the world. [00:10:37] We're going to stop sending money to Ukraine. [00:10:40] We're not going to send troops to the Middle East. [00:10:42] We're going to stand firm against tyranny, mark my words, but we're not going to waste American lives and treasures on war that doesn't serve our national interest. [00:10:53] We're going to confront evil where it exists. [00:10:56] But we're going to do it with clarity, strength, and purpose, and we will do it quickly and come home. [00:11:03] We will no longer coexist with those who traffic in human misery at any level or seek to destroy the innocent. [00:11:12] America will lead the world by example, not by endless entanglements. [00:11:17] And to those despots, terrorists, and simple opportunists, understand this. [00:11:23] The blue American passport means something again beginning today. [00:11:29] It means the holder is an American citizen. [00:11:32] Now, citizens should know that this government works for them. [00:11:36] But if they enter a foreign country, they need to know they need to abide by that country's laws. [00:11:41] But those countries or individuals, groups that do not care about international law understand that if you take, hurt, or kill an American citizen, you should begin to count your life in days, hours, and minutes. [00:11:57] Because the blue passport means American protection and power for every citizen. [00:12:04] You take our citizens, you will pay the ultimate price without delay and without any mercy. [00:12:13] Domestically, this is a moment of healing. [00:12:17] Our wounds and division have scarred our nation. [00:12:21] They haven't broken us, but they've scarred us. [00:12:24] To those who have felt forgotten, I want you to know today I see you. [00:12:30] To those who have felt silenced, I hear you. [00:12:33] And to those who have lost faith in the promise of America, I pledge to you to do everything in my power to restore it. [00:21:19] He's not in the beast yet, but he is traveling around in black U.S. government armored vehicles, and they all have an electronic device up on top of the vehicles that military people say they've only seen in Iraq. [00:21:37] And it stops all drones. [00:21:38] It just disables everything electronic all around. [00:21:44] So you mentioned this the other day. [00:21:46] You think it's security concerns? [00:26:27] So a lot of people decided to instead pack out the bars and restaurants, go to these brunches, go to the concerts. [00:26:33] And it's been such an incredible shift in the vibe from 2017 when we were told that nothing was. [00:26:40] I mean, now you've got designer brands advertising that they're dressing the second late. [00:26:46] Unbelievable, isn't it? [00:26:47] Snoop Dogg performing at these events. [00:26:50] It is the whole thing has changed. [00:26:52] And actually, for the first time, the first inauguration I attended in person, also very cold, was George W. Bush's second inaugural. [00:26:59] And the big difference here is how hard it's been to get a ticket to anything. [00:27:04] D.C. thrives off of free tickets. [00:27:06] People in D.C. don't like, they spend your money on a million. [00:27:10] Lord knows not spending their money party. [00:27:13] This year they can't because Silicon Valley, corporate America, everyone's ponied up. [00:27:18] $200 million raised for a $50 million event that's been canceled. [00:27:22] All of those tickets have evaporated. [00:27:24] They've gone away and they've gone to people who've paid for them, which, you know, it's a wonderful thing to have a sold-out event, but it is tough for us, us guys here in D.C. who dislike a free beer. [00:27:34] Right. [00:27:35] I have to tell you, the change is absolutely remarkable. [00:27:39] I attended the YouTube, I don't even know what they called it, get-together. [00:27:46] There was about 30 YouTubers that were influencers that were invited. [00:27:53] And I'm standing there and the CEO of YouTube comes up, very nice guy. [00:28:00] But he tells me about, you don't know how hard it's been to hold the line, you know, there at YouTube to keep, you know, keep things going. [00:28:07] And you guys are really important. [00:28:09] And I thought to myself, wow, everything has changed. [00:28:12] I'm hearing the president of YouTube tell me about how hard it was to hold the line on freedom of speech. [00:28:20] I didn't expect that one coming. [00:28:23] And I don't think anybody in the room expected to be sitting in the room with YouTube, I don't know, and hearing praise just six months ago. [00:28:32] But here we are. [00:28:33] And it's wonderful. [00:28:34] And in 2017, I went to a party with Facebook that we threw with the Daily Color for the inauguration. [00:28:39] And it was a grim, even though it was a great success as far as any kind of event goes, it was a grim atmosphere for the employees. [00:28:46] And it was the last thing that they did with conservatives for years and years after because of the revolt. [00:28:51] And one of the things that Trump will hopefully be able to accomplish, and Bill Barr gave a hint of this at the end of Trump's first term, which is penalizing going after companies that discriminate against white men as calling that racial discrimination. [00:29:02] No need to change any laws. [00:29:04] These things are already on the books. [00:29:06] And a lot of these CEOs, they're just, they're risk averse. [00:29:09] So when they're faced with an angry HR department run by woke College graduates, they just kind of run away. [00:29:18] This sort of thing, this sort of action will give them the legal tools to say no. [00:29:22] And they don't have to be the bad guy. [00:29:24] They can say, it's not my fault. [00:29:25] And I don't think they would have wanted to say no a few years ago, but they now see that they're running with a pack of revolutionaries. [00:29:33] They're not afraid of Donald Trump as much as they're afraid of their own employees and what those employees can do to their companies. [00:29:41] And they're trying to run for cover as much as they possibly can. [00:29:46] But again, I really don't think that I think people like Mark Zuckerberg, I hate to say this, but I think he's a coward and he's using the cover of Elon Musk and others to go, hey, hey, the world's changing, the world's changing. [00:30:02] He's got to get away from these revolutionaries that are in his company. [00:30:07] But they're the ones who actually run it. [00:30:09] And I think they're afraid. [00:30:11] He wants to be liked. [00:30:12] I mean, that's his whole thing. [00:30:13] That's Facebook's whole thing. [00:30:14] He wants to be liked. [00:30:16] And even during the darkest days of Facebook censorship, he was always trying to get up ahead and blame other people for it. [00:30:23] So he set up the whole outside fact checkers department. [00:30:25] So he would say, unlike early Twitter, I'm not going to do the fact checking. [00:30:29] It's not my fault. [00:30:30] Someone else did it. [00:30:31] Some nonprofit funded in Europe is fact-checking American articles at the blaze and trying to shut them down for printing entirely true things. [00:30:38] And he's kind of maybe like a techno-libertarian futurist in a way. [00:30:42] He's not ideological like Jeff Bezos might be. [00:30:45] He's someone who's just trying to thread that needle. [00:30:46] And because of that and the cowardice with it, he's ended up making everyone upset. [00:30:50] Yeah. [00:30:51] So let's just talk just for 30 seconds about TikTok. [00:30:55] TikTok is the president has now said a delay on the implementation of a law that was passed by Congress. [00:31:03] I don't know how you do that through executive order, but he's delaying it. [00:31:08] How do you feel about TikTok? [00:31:10] I mean, I think that TikTok is generally brain rot, and I would love those sorts of things to not be allowed in general. [00:31:15] But what the law that Congress passed is so narrow, it just says, hey, you can have TikTok. [00:31:20] It just can't be controlled by the Chinese military. [00:31:22] And that seems like a pretty basic thing. [00:31:25] And so many people have been obfuscating on that. [00:31:27] But at the same time, Donald Trump got more impressions on TikTok with his videos and the things he put out than on any other social media platform. [00:31:35] It's something that he said, all right, fine. [00:31:36] It's a weapon against the American people. [00:31:38] It's spying on them. [00:31:39] All of big tech is spying on the American people and weaponized against them, as we've learned. [00:31:44] But he's going to try, and I suspect he'll try to thread the needle on doing the art of the deal here, where he gets someone to buy TikTok, to take his hands off it. [00:31:54] He says, look, I've preserved TikTok. [00:31:56] I've allowed it. [00:31:57] But you have to force that sale. [00:31:58] Congress and Supreme Court have backed it. [00:32:00] So let's turn to what happened just this morning. [00:32:03] I mean, Joe Biden, even if he knows he's still president of the United States and knows what the name of shoes are, it would surprise me. [00:32:13] But again, in just shocking news, he pardoned everybody part of January 6th, all of the police officers that testified. [00:32:25] He pardoned Fauci. [00:32:27] I mean, everyone just this morning. [00:32:29] Say involved in January 6th. [00:32:31] You mean the January 6th committee? [00:32:32] Yeah, the committee. [00:32:33] No one was involved. [00:32:34] Yeah, nobody was actually in parading all those grandparents and all those old ladies. [00:32:42] They should rot in jail. [00:32:44] But anybody that was on the committee. [00:32:47] And like their aides. [00:32:49] Yes. [00:32:49] Everybody. [00:32:50] He went deep on this. [00:32:51] Again, there's no real reason to believe something like this could even hold up. [00:32:55] I don't think it holds up to scrutiny. [00:32:56] I don't think you can just pardon people for it. [00:32:58] Yeah, I think you can. [00:32:59] I think the president can. [00:33:00] There's real questions on that. [00:33:01] I mean, I know the Brookings Institution wrote back when they were, you know, again, when they were talking about Trump doing it for his family, all these places came out and said, actually, you can't do it like that. [00:33:12] I don't know. [00:33:12] Well, he did it for Hunter. [00:33:14] I know, but I don't think those are legal. [00:33:16] That would be fantastic if that's true. [00:33:18] I think the easiest thing to do is to call all those people back in front of Congress. [00:33:23] Exactly. Here's what you can't plead the fifth. [00:33:25] Yes. [00:33:26] You can't be implicated. [00:33:27] Investigate. [00:33:28] I'm not really interested in putting some of these people. [00:33:30] Some of these people obviously deserve to go to prison, but that's not the main goal here. [00:33:34] The main goal here is to find the truth, that the American people know it. [00:33:37] There's no more pleading the fifth if you've got a blanket pardon. [00:33:40] So get your butt in front of Congress or you will be arrested because the last administration set the precedent that if you defy Congress, you are under arrest and going to prison. [00:33:49] Put them out in front of the committees and get to the bottom of it. [00:33:53] Yep. [00:33:53] And I wonder how well that would go. [00:33:56] All right. [00:34:14] Up to 200 executive orders are happening today. [00:34:17] That is an extraordinary number of executive orders. [00:34:21] I do not like executive orders being the way of governing, but he's mainly undoing everything that has been done to this country by Joe Biden. [00:34:34] That makes me feel a little bit better about it. [00:34:37] Because you could go back and find clips of both of us certainly saying how bad executive orders are. [00:34:42] They are. [00:34:42] And they are. [00:34:43] I don't like, that's not our system of government. [00:34:46] All this stuff cannot stand just through executive order. [00:34:49] Or if, God forbid, we lose the next term, this president will just, the next president will just reverse all of those orders. [00:34:57] You cannot run a country like this. [00:34:59] I do feel like it would be worth pursuing some of these changes with Congress. [00:35:04] But When a bunch of really egregious things happen in this previous administration, the only way to quickly reverse the damage is to do it by executive order. [00:35:15] And if it was put in by executive order, you can do it that way. [00:35:18] When it's a law, you have to go through Congress. [00:35:22] So that's a different story. [00:35:24] But most of this stuff isn't, these aren't laws. [00:35:26] These are just terrible things that Biden's done. [00:35:29] And so I'm excited. [00:35:30] It's going to be a fun day today. [00:48:46] And actually, that's what got me to go into journalism full time because I remember on election night, seeing protests from students in California after the results were called since it wasn't too late for them and just realizing in that moment that we were about to enter like a whole new set of craziness. [00:49:00] And then, of course, you know, then 2020 happened, which, you know, blew everything off its doors. [00:49:05] And so I will say I'm a little bit shocked at how low energy the street resistance has been since the election. [00:49:16] I was expecting a little bit more on election night and nothing happened. [00:49:20] I'm not expecting too much craziness. [00:49:22] Again, like 2017 today, because it is so cold. [00:49:25] I mean, it feels like 10 degrees outside. [00:49:27] But I think once, you know, like with the executive orders, with the border and immigration and then the legislation that will come after that, I think that's going to kind of reincentivize people to get back out there because we just saw this, I mean, even just like last week over in Bakersfield in California, where there was reports of ICE raids and a lot of, you know, immigration, pro-immigration protesters showed up and just started protesting. [00:49:51] It didn't get violent or anything, but it kind of shows that now you put that on a national scale where it's front and center. [00:49:58] Trump is going to be sounding the horn on that again and again. [00:50:01] He's going to hit that over and over. [00:50:03] I think people are going to start to get back out into the streets again. [00:50:07] And I'll be sure to be there for what happens. [00:50:10] Good for you. [00:50:10] So we don't have to be. [00:50:12] You're going to be out there. [00:50:13] Isn't it surprising, too, that it was the women's march in 2017? [00:50:18] They added all the other 93 genders. [00:50:56] How much of this is people that are like, you know what? [00:51:02] I've seen the light. [00:51:03] I'm not going to go protest. [00:51:05] And how much is I'm going to keep my powder dry and we're planning and plotting? [00:51:13] I think it's still very much in the planning and plotting stage because, I mean, that's one of the kind of the big polls that they're kind of dancing around in terms of what they're going to be out there for is immigration. [00:51:25] I mean, they're saying, you know, refugees are welcome here, you know, all of that. [00:51:29] And so I think once then the media hype around that where, you know, they're going to try to have their own narratives. [00:51:36] These kids are being taken from their parents that don't look like a parent, but they look more like they're selling those kids into sex slavery. [00:51:45] Yeah, I understand that's coming. [00:51:47] Yeah. [00:51:47] So I think that's going to kind of reinvigorate people. [00:51:50] I mean, I think that's kind of like kind of the word for today is for at least for the leftist side is that they're just kind of waiting and seeing what actually, because I think some of them are hoping that, oh, well, Trump didn't follow through the first time, so he's not going to follow through the second time. [00:52:02] But I mean, a lot has obviously changed. [00:52:04] I mean, the guy got shot at for Pete's sake. [00:52:05] Oh, yeah. [00:52:06] So I don't think on the big stuff, because also just because, I mean, he, I mean, he can't, he can't, Republicans, GOP as a whole, they can't fail on this issue. [00:52:17] This was, I mean, the fact that the border and immigration was essentially number two behind the economy, which the economy was affected by the out-of-control immigration on the border. [00:52:26] I mean, that is a big, that is a big deal. [00:52:28] And the fact that we've saw, you know, Latino heavy districts in big cities and states like Pennsylvania go towards Trump. [00:53:15] And so I think, so once that starts to happen, I think then we're going to see the, because there's precedent with the first Trump administration. [00:53:23] I mean, in the Pacific Northwest in 2020, the ICE facility, even though even though it was mainly a local police thing, they targeted the ICE facility there just because it's Trump's ICE. [00:53:35] And in Washington, they had that Antifa guy try to firebomb and try to set on fire the ICE station there. [00:53:42] So there is serious potential for things to get out of control from the far left. [00:53:46] Have you ever seen anything change this much? [00:53:49] I mean, the polling is 80% of the American people are saying, send back, deport. [00:53:58] Have you seen the latest polls that came out this weekend? [00:54:02] I mean, it's stunning. [00:54:03] It has moved a lot. [00:54:05] A lot. [00:54:06] Whether that holds is interesting. [00:54:08] I mean, you do see, you know, there is a vibe part of this, right? [00:57:06] I mean, obviously they've had that infrastructure for a long time and they had their, you know, their street, their street community organizers. [00:57:13] But 2020 really saw the money really start to flow into that because it was the thing to do from all different sectors of the country. [00:57:23] And so even though, yeah, the riots stopped, that infrastructure stayed in place. [00:57:29] And we kind of saw that kind of get restarted after October 7th. [00:57:34] And although I've noticed that even before the ceasefire came into agreement for months, that movement had really slowed down a lot. [00:57:43] Maybe just because their popularity did not increase, which is surprise, surprise, you block people going to the airport with their traffic. [00:57:51] You're not going to make any friends, although that's the point. [00:57:54] That's why they're doing that. [00:57:56] So I think the main thing that is going to get these people to do radical things beyond just street protesting is going to be the issue of immigration. [00:58:07] And that's why it's going to be such a, it's going to be an uphill battle on certain areas just because like, yeah, you're right. [00:58:13] You know, the polling is fine right now, but for better or for worse, Americans don't really have a stomach to do what's necessary because even with the action to take against the Mexican cartels, I mean, we've been doing the law enforcement approach for decades. [01:12:56] He expects people to do their job. [01:12:59] You know what I mean? [01:13:00] And he trusts, yet verifies, with the Secret Service. [01:13:05] I mean, he's hired an outside security firm. [01:13:09] What's the name of that firm? [01:13:10] Do you know? [01:13:12] No, I can look that up in a second. [01:13:13] Yeah, hang on. [01:13:14] Mark, what's the name of that firm? [01:13:17] Arcus. [01:13:18] Arcus. [01:13:19] And he has hired an outside firm, and they are on top of it. [01:13:39] I mean, I've never seen security like this before for a president in Washington, D.C. Normally the motorcade, they just stop the cross streets and the motorcade goes by. [01:13:49] This time, it was stopped for a long time before you saw any blue and red lights. [01:13:55] And then you saw them and you heard the helicopters first, and there was at least two helicopters over his motorcade. [01:14:02] Yeah. [01:14:03] And it's going to be needed, especially, I mean, we're talking today, we're talking 200 plus-ish executive orders, many of them targeting not only things like cartels, terrorist organizations, but also the deep state. [01:14:16] So and on top of that, maybe one of the largest deportation operations, what, since Bill Clinton, I guess? [01:14:24] He's going to be mighty unpopular with all of the right people in my book. [01:14:29] Right. [01:14:30] You know what I mean? [01:14:30] All the people that should be afraid are going to be afraid and try to make him afraid. [01:14:36] And I have to tell you, and this is not going to happen. [01:14:39] This is just not going to happen. [01:14:41] But if they ever really try to take him out and take him out, I just think of the line from Star Wars. [01:14:50] Go ahead. [01:14:51] You will make me stronger than you can imagine. [01:14:55] You know, I don't remember what that exact line was, but strike me down and I'll be stronger. [01:15:01] And that's true. [01:15:02] I mean, JD Vance would be the LBJ and get he would reverse all that great society, all that FDR stuff. [01:15:12] The American people would be united on this is going to stop right now. [01:15:18] And so the worst thing they could possibly do is kill him, but that's not going to stop some people from trying, unfortunately. [01:16:45] And he stands up and looks right, exposes himself and says, fight, fight, fight. [01:16:52] That was a moment of courage that inspired the world. [01:16:57] Should make everybody proud watching this today, even if you don't like him. [01:17:00] The fact that that is the way our country freaking responds. [01:17:04] You try to shoot somebody, we're going to put them back in office, and he's going to sign a million executive orders, and he's going to show that we don't get intimidated by that crap. [01:17:20] I mean, and I feel like, I just feel like if you get shot on stage, you automatically get the presidency. [01:17:29] What is amazing is we didn't know that to be true until election day, where in any other race, that would have been the winning moment. [01:17:40] Yeah. [01:17:41] I mean, it's true. [01:17:43] And we all talk about, you know, this resounding victory for Trump. [01:17:46] And that, you know, I can understand it. [01:17:47] There were seven states. [01:17:48] He won all seven swing states. [01:17:49] But he needed to win one of those three blue wall states. [01:17:53] The biggest blowout of those three states was two points. [01:17:56] That's how close we were to freaking Kamala Harris in office today instead of Donald Trump. [01:18:31] And it was split half and half from the people that I talked to that live in California, whose houses didn't burn down, but all of their friends and neighbors' houses burned down. [01:29:17] I think for all the talk, for all the consternation on the joy of this day, what people need to take with them is this fact, the difference. [01:29:26] The difference between 2016 and this moment. [01:29:29] And I'm just here to tell you, it is enormous, right? [01:29:32] When Donald Trump first walked in and shocked the system, this town was a bubble. [01:29:38] It was living in a bubble. [01:29:40] And it was so thick that they couldn't imagine what the MAGA agenda was. [01:29:45] No one knew what that was. [01:29:46] They didn't think it was a coherent thing. [01:29:48] And so, you know, in the latter half of that administration, before I came to Blaze, I was working at Claremont and we had this network of all these really smart constitutionalist conservatives throughout the country, kind of kids who would come and read the books with you for weeks at a time, right? [01:30:02] And they were all throughout the administration in these lowered jobs and they were fighting a three or four part war because they all felt like they understood what Trump was about. [01:30:10] They understood what MAGA was about and now Maha, but they were not in power, right? [01:30:15] And everyone would look to them and they'd move up in the administration because they'd say, get that kid in here who understands what. [01:30:20] I don't even understand what he's saying. [01:30:22] Like, why is he questioning NATO, right? [01:30:25] And they'd all laugh like he's crazy. [01:30:26] And then you'd have someone, you know, some staffer would come in and say, no, I think he's asking a legitimate question. [01:30:31] So all the work that went into the time from the last administration until now, all these people who understood that agenda and fought for it, these are principled people. [01:30:41] And this weekend, I reconnected with a lot of people on and off record talking to all these people here in this town now. [01:30:48] And let me just tell you, they are ready. [01:30:50] Compared to 2016, this is night and day. [01:30:53] They are ready to go with an explosion of executive orders. [01:30:56] They understand how the system works and they're ready to go to war. [01:31:00] And that we just, we can't discount. [01:31:02] It's a world of difference from 2016. [01:31:04] I will tell you, I talked to several people this weekend that were in the administration in 2016 and said, it is a world that is very different than when they came in. [01:31:15] And I said, how do you mean that just from the way the left is reacting, et cetera? [01:31:19] And they said, more important than that, Donald Trump was not ready last time. [01:31:24] It was confusing. [01:31:25] This time, and I'm trying to remember the exact quote, if I can give you an exact quote, of somebody who was at a cabinet level last time, said, he is, what was it, laser focused and absolutely determined this time around. [01:31:43] He knows what he's doing. [01:31:44] He has a very well thought out plan and is going to be executing that. [01:31:51] Yes. [01:31:51] And the people are there to help him do it. [01:31:54] And that is just, I mean, he has the will, right? [01:31:56] The political will. [01:31:57] He doesn't care about how it looks. [01:31:59] He knows what he wants to do. [01:32:01] And to do that, you need a lot of names that people aren't going to be aware of, right? [01:32:05] Staffers who really know how things work. [01:32:07] And that's what I saw this weekend is just how many of these people, they keep on popping out of the woodwork, people I've known from the last few years. [01:32:13] And you just look at it and say, that's the perfect person for that job. [01:32:16] Someone who actually knows the history and cares about the principles. [01:32:19] And those people are now ready to go. [01:32:21] So we're here at the American First Policy Institute. [01:32:24] That's where we're headquartered. [01:32:26] We're right across from the, you see behind me, that's the Kennedy Center. [01:32:31] And just to what your right, if you're watching on the screen, is the Washington and Lincoln Memorial. [01:32:43] You see the Capitol behind us. [01:32:47] We are right across the street, right across the river, I should say, from Washington, D.C. [01:32:53] And we have been allowed to use their offices. [01:32:57] Most people may not have even heard of America First Policy Institute. [01:33:02] And once again, the media got it wrong. [01:33:04] They said it was all the Heritage Foundation and Agenda 2025 was going to be. [01:33:10] And Trump kept saying, that's not who I'm dealing with. [01:33:13] I'm not doing that. [01:33:14] And he was telling the truth. [01:33:15] It's not Agenda 2025 and the Heritage, although I'm sure there's some things that are similar that they may have taken or will work on. [01:33:24] But it's this headquarters where the real power, I mean, I think they have 30 people at cabinet level or just below cabinet level that are helping this administration plan and move forward. [01:33:39] And I mean, quickly. [01:33:40] Yeah, and this is the important thing. [01:33:42] Again, there was no agenda, right? [01:33:44] I mean, people didn't realize what the MAGA agenda was. [01:33:47] And in order for a president to come in and have, you know, implement the will of the people, you need a lot of people who understand it, just like in a business. [01:33:55] They have to understand what the mission is. [01:33:57] And what you see with AFPI, what you see with Heritage, all these organizations, what they've done is they kept at it. [01:34:03] They learned what that agenda was. [01:34:04] They didn't just lie on their laurels. [01:34:07] They built a new movement. [01:34:08] And that's what's so gratifying about this moment. [01:34:10] That movement is real. [01:34:12] It's thick. [01:34:13] It's full of people who understand it, and those people are ready to go to work. [01:34:17] I think because Donald Trump speaks like a regular human being, he doesn't speak like an intellectual, people dismiss his intellectual prowess. [01:34:27] And I have been really impressed over the last three years in particular. [01:34:35] He has changed a great deal. [01:34:36] It's almost as if he went to presidential school. [01:34:40] And I don't know if that comes from reflection or he had people around him that were saying, okay, here's where you made the mistakes last time. [01:34:50] Who was schooling with him? [01:34:52] Do you know any of that background? [01:34:54] Who has he surrounded himself? [01:34:56] Or is it just coming from him? [01:34:58] So in the beginning, right, you had Trump sort of against the world. [01:35:03] Right. [01:35:04] And you had a number of people who, remember, he cycled through all those campaign managers. [01:35:08] Right. [01:35:08] I mean, he was sort of scrambling to find the right talent. [01:35:11] Right. [01:35:11] And I think what you see now is a number of talented people in orbit that has revolved around him that stayed the same over time. [01:35:19] So you have to give Susie Wiles credit for what she did in this campaign. [01:35:25] She's been using to be reckoned with. [01:35:29] Oh, yes. [01:35:29] Oh, yeah. [01:35:30] I mean, a source of stability and a source of sort of calming strength, I think. [01:35:36] And you can have your disagreements with her. [01:35:38] Everyone has at one point or another. [01:35:40] But she is a force for good and has helped direct and focus a lot of this energy. [01:35:47] You also see, again, a lot of these people who are just, they're not loyal to any one group, right? [01:35:53] I mean, a lot of the younger people I'm talking about, these staffers, these people who have grown in the ranks over the last six to eight years, they're loyal to Trump and the MAGA agenda because they understand it, but there was no infrastructure for it. [01:36:04] And what you see now with AFPI and many other groups is that infrastructure developed around Trump. [01:36:10] And that in turn, you know, helped him achieve that agenda and be so ready to go in now. [01:36:17] And I think, you know, it's just it is a sea change. [01:36:20] It is a revolutionary moment of people who want to restore Republican governance in this country. [01:36:25] And I think what we can't lose sight of, though, is that this is a transitional day. [01:36:30] After this day, it's about implementing that mandate that really the people gave to Donald Trump. === Restoring Republican Governance (07:12) === [01:36:38] I want to talk to you a little bit about his executive orders. [01:36:43] I'm squeamish on executive orders. [01:36:45] I don't like them. [01:36:46] And one reason why I don't like them is we're not a dictatorship. [01:36:49] But the second reason is because they can easily be reversed. [01:36:52] Just as his agenda was completely reversed and Joe Biden's agenda is being completely reversed now with these new executive orders. [01:37:01] This has got to stop. [01:37:03] We have to do legislation. [01:37:05] But he's reversing everything that Joe Biden did. [01:37:11] and then some, but it's an omnibus package of about 200 executive orders and still more to come today and tomorrow. [01:37:22] That's astounding. [01:37:24] What message do you think that that sends to Washington, D.C.? [01:37:28] And I'll get your answer here in just a second first. [01:39:20] So I am worried about the number of people that have embedded and have been embedded now inside of this administration, deep in hiding the different things that they have done to booby trap and to slow this president down. [01:39:38] But the speed of what's going to happen today, what message do you think they're getting those people who think they're going to survive this time around with Donald Trump? [01:40:00] Authority, constitutional authority over the administrative state is what we're talking about. [01:40:06] And that's where, you know, I think all Americans don't want the executive writing laws. [01:40:12] That's what we have Congress for. [01:40:14] But the president has executive power over the entire government, right? [01:40:21] He should be able to hire and fire. [01:40:23] The Constitution gives the president executive authority. [01:40:26] With Congress, as we know, it separates out that authority. [01:40:29] It says you can only pass laws about these sorts of things. [01:40:32] But the president has that executive authority because what will happen today is Trump will take an oath to the Constitution. [01:40:39] And by taking that oath, he then is in charge, right, of that entire administrative state. [01:40:44] But the problem is, we're not talking about the normal bureaucracy and departments. [01:40:48] We're talking about a fourth branch of government that has run amok. [01:40:50] So when he comes out with these executive orders today, it's sending a strong and clear message that, guess what, guys? [01:40:57] The president is now going to reign this in. [01:41:00] And you will have some authority over you from someone who actually represents the people. [01:41:05] Because as we know, the entire problem, right? [01:41:07] No, this is the great thing about what's happening today. [01:41:10] No Republican president has been able to roll this thing back for the last hundred years since, as you point out, Woodrow Wilson and others created it. [01:41:18] And now we have the best chance we've seen in a century to start rolling it back. [01:41:22] And that starts with a flurry of EOs of executive orders where the president says, nope, we're not doing this anymore. [01:41:27] Well, there's no way it's not a fourth branch of government, which is unconstitutional, if it is part of the administrative branch and the president is not in control of it. [01:41:40] If the president can't fire people, then he's not actually their employer or boss. [01:41:46] Yes. [01:41:47] And if the president is not their employer or boss, then they are the boss of us. [01:41:51] Yes, exactly. [01:41:51] That's the problem. [01:41:52] Because Congress will say the president can't fire. [01:41:56] Well, neither can Congress. [01:41:58] So who do these people work for? [01:42:00] Yes. [01:42:00] You know, they work for the unions and they work for themselves. [01:42:04] And they're over the present. [01:42:06] That becomes, that state becomes more powerful than the other three branches combined. [01:42:14] Yes. [01:42:15] And this is something that obviously you've spoken about for years. [01:42:18] We're here at this turning point. [01:42:20] And that's why we are going to the focus, the entire focus of the political division of Blaze News and Blaze News tonight is going to be focused on this mandate and its implementation. [01:42:30] Because now we have to hold everyone in government accountable, right, to that mandate that the people have given them. [01:42:36] And now we have to follow the only game in town that matters politically, which is not Republican versus Democrat, but whether or not we can restore the promise of Republican government in the 21st century. [01:42:47] And that's what I think all of our audience cares about. [01:42:50] Everyone listening cares about, whether you're Republican, Democrat, these people need to work for you. [01:42:58] You know how many people who are even fancy people with elite degrees, they don't understand how this works. [01:43:04] No, it's opaque. [01:43:05] No one understands who actually rules us because of what we're talking about. [01:43:09] I will tell you, I was talking to some people that were cabinet level yesterday, and then I talked to some people that are going into the administration, and they said, one minute after the president takes his hand off the Bible, we're sworn in.
