The Glenn Beck Program - Recap of 2022 & Predictions For 2023 | Guest Host: Justin Barclay | 12/29/22 Aired: 2022-12-30 Duration: 01:49:11 === Fusion of Entertainment and Enlightenment (02:15) === [00:00:42] What you are about to hear is the fusion of entertainment and enlightenment. [00:00:48] This is the Glenn Beck Program. [00:00:53] Well, Merry Christmas. [00:00:56] Am I still allowed to say that? [00:00:57] I think I can still say. [00:00:58] And Happy New Year. [00:01:01] Or is it too early for that yet? [00:01:03] Well, listen, either way, welcome in. [00:01:04] It's the Glenn Beck Program. [00:01:06] In today for Glenn, my name's Justin Barkley. [00:01:09] We got a big show. [00:01:09] Big arrest last night. [00:01:11] Lots of conversations, big stories you want to talk about. [00:01:15] Usually this time of year, it's kind of slow, but not now. [00:01:18] It's like drinking from a fire hose. [00:01:20] We'll get into it all. [00:01:22] Big guests today on the show as well. [00:01:24] Plus, I want to hear from you. [00:01:26] We appreciate you being here with us. [00:01:27] 88727BECK is the number. [00:01:30] It's 8 at 8-727 back. [00:01:33] Back after this on the Glenn Beck Program. [00:01:52] It's Justin in for Glenn today on the Glenn Beck Program. [00:01:58] You know, like I said, this is strange because it's normally the holiday season and you get guys like me and some of the other great guests, the fill-ins here, who come in. [00:02:09] Well, Glenn has a well-deserved time off, gets well-rested so he can be back and ready for the new year. [00:02:17] You know, there's a lot goes into doing this radio program and all the things that Glenn does for us. [00:02:22] But, you know, one of the things that generally this time of year is kind of slow in the news, you know, that's why you hear all this. [00:02:31] Well, it's the word of the year. [00:02:32] And here are the top stories of 2022. [00:02:35] And, you know, and so you get a little bit of that. [00:02:37] Maybe we'll do a little bit of that today, too, just to do it. [00:02:40] But it's these days, you don't get the break that you used to get from news at all. [00:02:48] We don't get the break from anything. [00:02:51] I don't know if this cycle, just the way things work because we got social media and nothing really slows down. === Chaos, News, and the 888727-BEC Line (06:51) === [00:02:57] But there are constantly stories swirling. [00:03:02] There's constant state of chaos that we seem to live in. [00:03:05] And news, the news doesn't take a break. [00:03:12] And so that's why we're here. [00:03:13] And we're glad that you're here too. [00:03:15] I'm going to give you the number, 888727-BEC, B-E-C-K. [00:03:18] You want to talk about anything today and join the program? [00:03:21] We'd love to have you here. [00:03:23] But one other thing that I'd like to hear as we get into some of the bigger stories of the day today and discuss what is top of mind here. [00:03:36] I want to hear from you two things. [00:03:40] Number one, I want to hear from you, what do you think the biggest story of the year was? [00:03:45] Now, this is going to be hard. [00:03:47] I've been thinking about what might be in that rotation. [00:03:52] I've been thinking about what could possibly be in that lineup. [00:03:58] And there's a few of them. [00:03:59] Especially the stories lately, what we've learned from Twitter and the Twitter files, Elon Musk, what's been happening with the government behind the scenes. [00:04:08] These are all things that we've, for a long time, pretty much, yeah, we pretty much, it's like we've, well, we, we suspected some of this stuff, right? [00:04:21] And we knew the whole time. [00:04:23] We just, we just, now we have, we have, well, confirmation, I guess, you might say. [00:04:33] A little bit of confirmation. [00:04:36] So that might be one of them. [00:04:38] Wait a minute. [00:04:39] What about the border? [00:04:41] What about what's happening at the border? [00:04:43] I mean, what's happening down there is absolutely transforming this country. [00:04:48] And it's disaster for folks who are living right there, but not just for folks living on the border cities. [00:04:54] It's disaster in the lives of many when you see the fentanyl coming across the border. [00:05:01] The trafficking, drugs, humans, all of it. [00:05:04] And you got another major story there that, I mean, I don't know if we can wrap our heads around all of it. [00:05:14] There's just so much to choose from when you look at some of the bigger issues that are swirling from the last year. [00:05:22] What is it? [00:05:22] The midterms? [00:05:23] We didn't see the red wave that we thought we got more like a red trickle. [00:05:28] Although the Republicans are taking back the house. [00:05:31] Now, what they do there, that's a whole nother, that's a whole nother thing altogether, isn't it? [00:05:40] What they do there, that's what that remains to be seen. [00:05:46] But you have all of these different stories. [00:05:51] And in your situation and in your life, maybe there's a story. [00:05:54] Maybe there's something that's bigger for you than it is anywhere else for anybody else. [00:06:02] And your personal story, you know, the things that are happening in your life, maybe they're different than we had a little, we had a little girl that was born. [00:06:11] It's about two months back now. [00:06:14] That's probably our big story for the year in our family. [00:06:17] But I really, I'm serious. [00:06:18] I wonder. [00:06:20] Would you think if you had to put your finger on it, the biggest story of 2022 is, and is it a story that just isn't getting the coverage that it deserves? [00:06:38] Maybe it's good news. [00:06:40] In fact, I've got one of those coming up this hour that I'm going to share with you. [00:06:43] I think some good news that we need to hear some things behind the scenes. [00:06:46] People fighting back. [00:06:50] Taking a stand. [00:06:51] You often hear that stand up. [00:06:52] What does that mean? [00:06:53] Well, our guest coming up a little bit later this hour will be able to put his finger on it, tell you what exactly what it meant for him, what he put on the line, and how it's paid off. [00:07:04] Sometimes it doesn't always work out that way. [00:07:06] But this is good news. [00:07:07] I want to share it with you because I believe that story itself, that's a story that deserves a spotlight. [00:07:19] Of course, we'll get into that. [00:07:22] But I'm really curious what you think the biggest story of the year is. [00:07:25] You can tweet me at Mr.Justin Barklay. [00:07:28] That's over on Twitter. [00:07:29] In fact, you can connect with me everywhere, JustinBarklay, B-A-R-C-L-A-Y.com, JustinBarklay.com. [00:07:37] And also at 888727-BEC, B-E-C-K. [00:07:44] Let me know what you think the biggest story of the year was. [00:07:47] I've got some coming in right now, and there are a few here. [00:07:50] There's a couple that I hadn't even, of course, I'm aware of these, but it just didn't come pop up top of mind for me right now. [00:07:58] Some of these I think you might agree with. [00:08:00] Biggest story of the year. [00:08:03] And gosh, it may not be anything that's been covered on the nightly news or in your local paper. [00:08:13] We'll talk about that. [00:08:14] Big one last night, in fact. [00:08:17] I don't know if you know who Andrew Tate is. [00:08:22] Andrew Tate, it's interesting because I don't know much about the guy. [00:08:26] I kind of know surface level things about him. [00:08:28] He is a UFC fighter or a former UFC fighter. [00:08:32] I'm not exactly sure. [00:08:33] He's got a lot of different things that he does, apparently, business and whatnot, but he's mostly well known on the internet for saying things that people, well, you're not supposed to say anyway. [00:08:46] He's sort of a, and he's been canceled. [00:08:49] And I don't agree with everything he says. [00:08:52] I don't know why we even have to say that because I don't agree with everything that anyone says, even some of my best friends and family. [00:08:57] Of course, I don't agree with every sometimes I don't agree with everything that I say. [00:09:03] Just think about it. [00:09:05] I get a little time between what I said and I go, wiggle, think back about it. [00:09:09] And I go, you know, maybe a little reflection, some prayer. [00:09:13] Maybe the Lord's working in me. [00:09:14] I go, wait a minute, maybe that wasn't right. [00:09:19] But it's funny you have to say that these days. [00:09:22] I don't agree with everything this person. [00:09:24] Of course, I don't agree with everything. [00:09:26] But at the end of the day, very interesting, controversial figure, they say, arrested last night, human trafficking charges in Romania. [00:09:36] But there's a little bit more to this story. [00:09:40] We'll discuss this coming up in just a moment. [00:09:43] In fact, somehow, after being arrested, he ended up on Tucker or talking with Tucker. === The Wild Tucker Lockdown Story (16:30) === [00:09:48] And it's just a wild story, but it's one that, true to form, to close out the year may be the best way to do it. [00:10:03] I'm just not sure. [00:10:04] 888727-BEC B-E-C-K is the number 888727-BECK. [00:10:10] Back in just a moment. [00:10:11] Barkley and for Beck Today on the Glen Back program. [00:11:35] Apparently, he was arrested last night. [00:11:37] Get into that coming up here in a second. [00:11:39] Your biggest story of 2022. [00:11:41] Maybe we're, you know, we're not even giving it the coverage it deserves. [00:11:45] Want to hear from you on that? [00:11:46] 888-727-BEC, B-E-C-K. [00:11:49] It's Justin Barkley in for Glenn Beck today on the Glen Beck program. [00:11:51] You can also tweet me on the newly freed bird at Mr. Justin Barkley there and nearly everywhere else on social media that we could find. [00:12:04] So you can also connect with me at JustinBarkley.com. [00:12:12] Great place to do that. [00:12:15] All those different places. [00:12:16] So I want to ask because there's some other really good stories in here about what may be the big story of the year. [00:12:25] There's some really good ones. [00:12:27] There's some really good ones in here. [00:12:29] In fact, the power grid, this is one Ladina mentions, the power grid being attacked. [00:12:35] Boy, that's a big story, folks. [00:12:39] The power grid being attacked. [00:12:40] And there's not really a lot of talk about that. [00:12:45] That along with the fires and some of the things we've had, some of the food processing plants, that could be a major interruption or disruption. [00:12:54] Could be some probing for bigger attacks yet to come. [00:13:00] And yet, we don't, they're more concerned, it seems like, anyway. [00:13:03] I don't know. [00:13:05] It seems the powers that be are more concerned about parents speaking up at school board meetings for the sexualization of their kids and the things that are happening. [00:13:14] They're more concerned about that than they are anything else. [00:13:17] They want to go talk to those folks. [00:13:22] Maybe they're looking into it. [00:13:23] I don't know. [00:13:24] I don't know. [00:13:25] The extremists, I don't know. [00:13:27] I don't think it's the parents at the school board meetings that are involved in the power grids. [00:13:31] That probably not the story. [00:13:40] I think it's a big one. [00:13:43] Yeah, gas prices. [00:13:44] That's another way. [00:13:45] It's fuel, energy, all of it. [00:13:47] Folks stuck in their, see that? [00:13:48] Spokes suck in their Tesla the other day trying to get home for Christmas Eve. [00:13:53] A guy got stuck in his Tesla. [00:13:54] Wouldn't charge. [00:13:55] It was too cold. [00:13:57] Big story for Democrats. [00:14:00] And I don't know. [00:14:00] This to me seems more like a fizzle, but I think the Democrat-led House, for now anyway, releasing Trump's tax returns, which I've kind of just glanced over and seems to be much ado about nothing. [00:14:13] Those coming out this morning. [00:14:15] So they'll be talking about that. [00:14:17] That'll be the big story for them today. [00:14:19] Oh, we finally got him. [00:14:20] We finally got him. [00:14:26] They try. [00:14:27] Wow, we finally got every time. [00:14:29] Every time here. [00:14:30] So finally, we finally got him. [00:14:32] They finally got him now. [00:14:34] Last night, Andrew Tate speaking of Ganningham. [00:14:38] I don't know why this has become such an interesting story, but there was so much last night on Twitter and the internet about this, the possible arrest. [00:14:48] And of course, they showed video of him and his brother being taken. [00:14:53] There was media there out of their house, but they didn't have handcuffs on. [00:14:59] So if they were allegedly arrested for, you know, trafficking and there was an allegation of a rape or somebody being held inside a house, you know, without their well, this could happen to anybody. [00:15:15] Yeah, I know, it's a especially somebody so high profile. [00:15:22] And he just had some crazy exchange with Bretta Thunberg on Twitter, apparently, I guess it was that day or the day before. [00:15:32] And that was a big, so that was a big part of the speculation about wonder why this happened. [00:15:37] But then again, last night, it appears this was last night. [00:15:42] Tucker Carlson today, Tucker Carlson talking to Andrew Tate, who is not in jail. [00:15:50] Oh, this is an August interview. [00:15:51] Just take a listen to this. [00:15:52] This is something that happened to him previously, apparently. [00:15:55] Take a listen and see. [00:15:56] This is the Tucker Carlson tonight interview, apparently, that was done about some of these things that have happened to him before. [00:16:04] So is he in jail or not? [00:16:06] And what's the story? [00:16:07] We're still waiting to hear. [00:16:08] Oh, so news accounts in the United States say that the U.S. Embassy in Bucharest, Romania, was tipped off to your misdeeds and alerted the local authorities you might be committing human trafficking. [00:16:24] Given that this is the same charge they leveled against Julian Assange or a species of it, you know, skeptical, but I want to know the details. [00:16:30] Were you arrested for human trafficking? [00:16:32] What happened? [00:16:34] Yeah, I was not arrested. [00:16:35] So what happened is I suffered from a case of swatting. [00:16:38] It's very popular with people who are large on the internet. [00:16:40] Many large YouTubers have been swatted. [00:16:43] It's where you call the police and you say somebody has a gun or there's a hostage situation and the SWAT team arrives. [00:16:48] Somebody made a phone call to the American embassy saying that I was holding women at my house. [00:16:52] Now, this is previous. [00:16:55] Then who knows? [00:16:56] There's a further investigation. [00:16:58] The police arrived. [00:16:59] And let me state this now. [00:17:00] I state this openly to the world. [00:17:03] I have absolute respect for the police. [00:17:05] I would hate to live in a country where if you call the police saying women are being held against their will, that the police don't respond. [00:17:11] That would be terrible. [00:17:12] Of course they should come and look. [00:17:14] Absolutely. [00:17:14] They turned up. [00:17:16] They investigated. [00:17:17] They realized that nobody was in the house against their will. [00:17:19] There was no crime committed. [00:17:21] They said, okay, you're not a suspect, but you are a witness to this, along with me, my brother, the housekeeper, the gardener. [00:17:28] Everybody who was in the premises at the time was labeled a witness. [00:17:32] We had to go to the police station for 45 minutes for pieces of paper. [00:17:35] We filled them in and we were let go. [00:17:37] I was swatted. [00:17:38] Nobody was hurt. [00:17:40] There's no human trafficking. [00:17:41] Now, that was back in August. [00:17:44] So again, if he's guilty of that, him and his brother or whatever, anybody who's guilty of human trafficking, any sort of that, of course, I want to see them locked up and probably worse. [00:17:55] But there's a lot of questions about this. [00:17:58] And in fact, Tucker mentioned his skepticism back in August, I guess, in the interview that he had done there. [00:18:07] The questions continue to come out. [00:18:09] People are asking, well, you know, what exactly happened? [00:18:13] Why now? [00:18:15] What a peculiar story. [00:18:16] And what a way to end, again, the year, which has been so strange. [00:18:22] You know, just to name a few of the crazy things that have happened this year. [00:18:29] Oh, by the way, we were going through these, and I've got more. [00:18:32] We'll go through them today throughout the show. [00:18:35] Plus, I want to take your predictions. [00:18:38] So I got two things that I want from you today. [00:18:43] I would love to hear you join the program if you're 88727-BECK back. [00:18:51] Not only would I like to know the biggest story, but also what about a prediction? [00:18:55] As hard as it might be, what about a prediction? [00:18:58] Because we've seen what we've seen, but what about a prediction for the new year? [00:19:01] Let's go to Michael in Florida. [00:19:03] Biggest story of the year, Michael, whether it's being covered or not. [00:19:08] Welcome. [00:19:08] You're on the Glen Back Program. [00:19:10] Hey, good morning. [00:19:11] Thanks for taking my call. [00:19:13] My pleasure. [00:19:15] Okay, so, you know, I feel like the biggest story of the year is that people are finally waking up to the fact that we've been presented with a meticulously managed psychological operation to convince us all that everything has failed in an effort to bring new systems to our world. [00:19:40] I think people are red, blue, Democrat, Republic, Republican, doesn't make a difference. [00:19:46] Folks are waking up to the fact that due to staged events promoted by corrupt media, we are now being divided and demoralized in an effort to have us willfully adopt technocratic Marxism. [00:20:05] This is coming our way, and this is rather frightening. [00:20:08] So if I'm going to make a prediction, I think more people are going to wake up to what's happening this next year. [00:20:15] Michael, from your mouth to God's ears, I hope that does happen. [00:20:18] That's the only way we can take this country back is if people are aware, if they are awake, so to speak, not woke, but actually awake to what's happening and how we can fight back. [00:20:30] 888727-BECK, back is the number. [00:20:33] Back with one man who is, he fought back, and we'll give you some encouragement. [00:20:37] The good news coming up on the Glenn Beck program. [00:20:42] The Glenn Beck Program. [00:20:55] Barclay in for Beck today on the Glenn Beck Program, the last show of the year. [00:21:02] And we're going out with a bang. [00:21:04] At least we're attempting to. [00:21:05] What is the biggest story of 2022? [00:21:08] One of the questions I'm asking this morning. [00:21:09] Got a lot of great answers so far. [00:21:11] Triple 8, 727 Beck, 888-727-BEC, B-E-C-K. [00:21:17] And then the other question I have for you is predictions. [00:21:22] Like, what is your prediction for the coming year? [00:21:26] Seeing all the craziness that we've seen the last few years, what do you predict coming out? [00:21:32] And I'll keep track of these. [00:21:33] And if I have the honor of filling in again, I think I did this show last year for Glenn and the team. [00:21:39] So if I don't know filling in again next year around this time, we'll pull out some of these predictions and see if you nailed them. [00:21:46] All right. [00:21:47] So let me get to a couple of those real quickly. [00:21:51] Let me do Samuel in Virginia first. [00:21:54] Sam, appreciate you joining us this morning. [00:21:56] The Glenn Beck Program. [00:21:59] Yes. [00:21:59] Hello. [00:22:00] Good morning. [00:22:00] Thank you for being on. [00:22:02] What's your biggest story of the year, Sam? [00:22:08] Uh-oh, looks like we're losing. [00:22:10] Sam, if you get a better connection, you can call us back. [00:22:12] We'll try Glenn in Ohio. [00:22:13] Your biggest story of the year, and you have a prediction to make too, Glenn? [00:22:18] Yes, I do. [00:22:19] I think the biggest story of the year is an administration that facilitates actively and knowingly the commitment of high crimes and misdemeanors at the southern border. [00:22:29] And my prediction is that all of the negative information regarding COVID, the sudden deaths and heart attacks and 35-year-olds just dropping dead all over the place, the media is going to hold their powder with that information until Donald Trump gets into the next election cycle. [00:22:50] And will they use it against him at that point? [00:22:53] Yes, they will. [00:22:55] Yes, they will. [00:22:57] And the interesting question is going to... [00:23:02] Uh-oh, Glenn, I think I lost you there. [00:23:04] Yeah. [00:23:04] Yeah, that's okay. [00:23:07] Sometimes we have that with our cell phones. [00:23:08] But, you know, it's a very interesting point. [00:23:12] You see a shift in the narrative sort of changing with the COVID, the Ronald Report, et cetera. [00:23:18] You're seeing that shift happen. [00:23:22] Little sort of cracks in the armor, so to speak, or in the dam. [00:23:28] And it drips and drops. [00:23:29] And then eventually that thing breaks. [00:23:32] And will they then use the very thing Pretty much some of the folks in the media responsible for some of this. [00:23:42] In fact, I got a report. [00:23:44] Some of the things coming out of China right now and across the world. [00:23:47] China's got a whole, it basically proves that lockdowns didn't work. [00:23:54] I mean, what's happening right now in China basically proves that lockdowns are just completely ineffective. [00:24:01] Not only that, but they may have done more to damage this country from a health perspective. [00:24:09] And then you get into the economics of it and what the kids went through and how many excess deaths we had, and then everything else on top of it. [00:24:20] And the folks who are dying suddenly and unexpectedly right now. [00:24:25] Holy cow. [00:24:25] Yeah. [00:24:26] And you talk about a story. [00:24:29] Speaking of those lockdowns and a story. [00:24:32] In fact, there's some good news to some of the horror story. [00:24:35] You've heard them all that have come throughout the last couple of years. [00:24:38] A few states really had it bad. [00:24:43] Not many nearly as bad as we did here in Michigan. [00:24:46] I'm broadcasting in Grand Rapids in West Michigan. [00:24:49] WOOD, that's a news radio with 1300 and 1069 FM. [00:24:54] And of course, my honor and pleasure to be here with you. [00:24:57] But one of the stories coming out of Michigan was the restaurants that were shut down and the businesses that were crippled and people lost them. [00:25:05] Of course, you've got what happened to the kids. [00:25:08] But one of the business owners decided to stand his ground. [00:25:12] He would not back down. [00:25:14] His name's Ian Murphy. [00:25:15] He owns the Iron Pig in Gaylord in Michigan. [00:25:20] Ian joins us right now, talk a little bit about what he went through, but there's some good news that he's going to share today, too. [00:25:27] He just won a big fight. [00:25:28] And I think it's important for us to hear this not just here in Michigan, but across the country when it comes to standing out for what's important. [00:25:37] And of course, your principles. [00:25:38] Ian, appreciate you joining us on the Glenn Beck program. [00:25:41] Good morning, Jonathan. [00:25:42] Thanks for having me. [00:25:43] My pleasure. [00:25:44] So let's walk through this. [00:25:45] You know, there was a time, been Gretchen Whitmer, the governor here, the Wolverine Queen, as they call her. [00:25:53] She was making these edicts about places like restaurants, particularly that were really under fire. [00:26:01] In fact, you could eat inside, but only if the inside was outside. [00:26:07] There was a time they had these igloos set up and these little outdoor huts. [00:26:11] And like, it was just insanity. [00:26:14] And people that were able to think critically at the time were saying that, what are you doing to our restaurants? === Michigan Liquor Lawsuit Victory (09:14) === [00:26:19] Some of these places just went through hell and back and barely made it, but you decided you were going to stand up through it all. [00:26:26] What did that look like for you? [00:26:30] It's been a crazy, crazy journey for the last just over two years now. [00:26:36] You know, when they shut down restaurants again end of November, just before Thanksgiving in 2020, we stayed closed for the first week, waiting, you know, for some kind of news, some kind of aid package, something. [00:26:52] And, you know, all the lawmakers and governor and everybody decided to go on Thanksgiving vacation and just, you know, basically left us out to flap in the wind. [00:27:03] So I just kind of, you know, we had originally, a buddy of mine and I, we were, we were going to, we were actually in the middle of putting up wrapping paper on the front windows and we were going to kind of go under the radar. [00:27:14] And I just decided, you know, this just doesn't feel right. [00:27:17] So I called the health department, our local health officer, and said, you know, tomorrow, the day before Thanksgiving, which is, you know, one of the biggest bar nights of the year, I said, listen, you know, we're going to go out of business if this keeps up like this. [00:27:29] So you're kind of forcing us to open back up. [00:27:33] And that's what we did. [00:27:35] And the next morning at about 11:15, the health department was there with a cease and desist. [00:27:42] They wasted no time. [00:27:44] And then the liquor commission followed that. [00:27:46] And then the Department of Agriculture followed that. [00:27:50] OSHA followed that as well. [00:27:53] I mean, they were bringing the full force of government down on you and every vice and grip they could find to tighten on you. [00:28:01] They were trying to get you from all angles, weren't they? [00:28:04] Yeah, and they knew from the beginning that those of us that have liquor licenses, you know, those are coveted. [00:28:11] So they knew that they could use that as the hammer over those of us with those licenses. [00:28:17] And they were very, very effective at doing that. [00:28:20] And ultimately, they kind of used us as an example and suspended my liquor license for 90 days and gave me a $600 fine. [00:28:33] And what we would find out later on is that January 6th of 2020, while we were still open against the health department orders, but not serving liquor, we had surrendered our liquor license. [00:28:44] We had taken the fine. [00:28:46] We were still under the suspension order. [00:28:48] They came back in January 6th, 2021 and did an undercover seeing. [00:28:54] Now, this is the liquor commission and cited us again with another violation, basically for just being open. [00:29:01] They didn't cite us for serving alcohol without a license. [00:29:04] So it had nothing to do with liquor. [00:29:05] It's just the fact that you were open. [00:29:07] The governor said you should. [00:29:08] And by the way, I should also mention here, folks, that the Michigan State Supreme Court at one point, they ruled on this and that what the governor had ordered at one point, these shutdowns and whatnot, that they were illegal. [00:29:23] They were unconstitutional. [00:29:25] She then moved to the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services without her mantle. [00:29:31] And by the way, this woman got re-elected in a state. [00:29:34] have no idea how that happened but but and found that she had actually been using the emergency orders of the health department law that we ended up challenging in court and got ruled unconstitutional just like the supreme court ruling you're referencing and And the majority of our case stems from that certified questions October 2020 Supreme Court case. [00:30:04] and got a brilliant ruling from Judge Hunter right here, literally across the street from the Iron Pig in circuit court. [00:30:13] So we went through various things. [00:30:15] You know, the health department, Dana Nestle's office, the Attorney General, they appealed Judge Hunter's ruling. [00:30:24] They went right up to the Supreme Court. [00:30:26] They tried to bypass the Court of Appeals. [00:30:28] So the Supreme Court has actually chimed in on this, and they said they view it as certified questions, the sequel. [00:30:34] Now, a lot of things have happened in the last 60 days. [00:30:39] One of the big ones was they gave up their appeal, which they were appealing Judge Hunter's ruling to the Court of Appeals. [00:30:46] They gave up that appeal. [00:30:48] So that's a big win. [00:30:50] But just recently, I've received a letter from the Liquor Commission via Dana Nessel's office, which has some sort of gambling and liquor division, apparently. [00:31:03] And this nice little letter said, we are no longer going to be seeking charges against you for the January 6, 2021 alleged violation. [00:31:13] No further action at this time. [00:31:16] So they gave up their appeal on Judge Hunter's unconstitutional ruling. [00:31:22] And then they gave up. [00:31:23] So the other thing that they had holding over us was this other liquor license violation. [00:31:27] So they just gave that up last week. [00:31:29] So this is a big win that it would sound like under your belt in this battle to stand your ground, stand up for running your business and to be open to feed the folks there in Michigan. [00:31:40] But not only that, but to feed your family. [00:31:44] This is a big deal. [00:31:46] But this isn't it. [00:31:48] You've stood up. [00:31:49] You've stood your ground here, Ian Murphy, the iron pig in Michigan, smokehouse, you risk it for the brisket. [00:32:01] And it worked out. [00:32:02] Apparently, you guys are fighting back, though you're doing something else. [00:32:06] There is a class action lawsuit. [00:32:10] Yeah. [00:32:11] So, you know, the end goal really for us is to have, make sure that the unconstitutional ruling is ultimately upheld by the Supreme Court. [00:32:20] So that's one thing. [00:32:21] The other thing that we want to do is hold some people accountable. [00:32:24] And you know as well as I do that money talks. [00:32:28] And right now, what we're attempting to do is form a class action lawsuit to take to the court of claims and sue Gretchen Whitmer, Dana Nessel, Bob Gordon, and Elizabeth Hurtell in their official capacities as it relates to the use of this now unconstitutional law in Michigan. [00:32:51] And by the way, Justin, they're still using this health order, this emergency order right now for vaccine mandates in nursing homes. [00:32:59] So we're going on two, almost three years now that they'll, you know, coming in March, it'll be three years that they're using this health order that is now unconstitutional. [00:33:09] Yeah. [00:33:09] But they're still doing it. [00:33:11] Ian Murphy in the Iron Pig Smokehouse in Michigan standing out, fighting back. [00:33:16] So we're going to have to wait to see how the class action plays out. [00:33:19] I know you're going to, you're not, you're not slowing down anytime soon. [00:33:23] I don't get that feeling. [00:33:25] I just want to ask you, because this is not a Michigan issue. [00:33:28] This is an issue that folks all around the country are having to fight, to struggle, to battle with over the last couple of years. [00:33:36] But I think even more so as we get into the years to come, we're at the cusp of a new year here. [00:33:42] None of this is going away anytime soon. [00:33:45] What do you say to folks who are deciding probably at some point here in the future? [00:33:50] If they haven't yet, they're going to have to make a decision about how they're going to stand for their principals, for their family, for their business, for whatever it might be. [00:33:59] What would you say to folks? [00:34:01] You know, what was it that moved you to do that? [00:34:04] And any encouragement or advice? [00:34:09] I was raised a certain way to challenge authority, usually in a respectful way. [00:34:15] But at the end of the day, it really was, like you said, it was for my family. [00:34:19] It was for our family here, our employees at the Iron Pig. [00:34:23] And it was a risk that we had to take. [00:34:25] And at the end of the day, I would have rather had stood up for what I believed in, which was these things were wrong and there was certainly a better way to go about it. [00:34:33] And I would say to everybody that is listening that might be in or see themselves in a situation like this moving forward, don't give up. [00:34:43] Stand up for yourself. [00:34:45] We did and it paid off. [00:34:47] Our customers have come in and drove. [00:34:48] 2021 was our best year on record. [00:34:51] 22 was outstanding. [00:34:53] 2023 looks to be even better and we're hoping to expand. [00:34:57] But what I do want to say real quick while I've got you is anybody in Michigan that is looking to join our lawsuit, our class action lawsuit, to go to fight, the number fourmichigan.com. [00:35:08] There is a form you can fill out to join. [00:35:11] Anybody that is looking to join this class action should go to fightformichigan.com and let's get as many restaurants at least as we can. [00:35:20] Some gyms have already signed up as well. [00:35:22] But we're going to start to sift through this information and figure out and form the best class that we can so we can go sue the pants off the people responsible for destroying the restaurant industry in this state. === Joining the Michigan Class Action (03:52) === [00:35:33] And it still are. [00:35:34] You know, there's an employee minimum wage law that's being enacted here pretty soon that's just going to destroy our industry. [00:35:41] Ian Murphy, the fight continues. [00:35:44] Theironpigsmokehouse.com. [00:35:46] We appreciate you taking the time. [00:35:47] If you're in the area there in Gaylord, Michigan, or you're coming through on vacation, stop in. [00:35:52] Ian, thank you for being here with us. [00:35:54] Thank you for continuing to fight. [00:35:56] Thank you, Justin. [00:35:57] I appreciate everything. [00:35:58] You got it. [00:35:59] God bless. [00:35:59] There you go, folks. [00:36:00] Just one of the folks that's decided to stand up. [00:36:02] Talking to you next, 888727 Beck, BECK, biggest story of the year. [00:38:15] Usually this time of year is kind of slow, especially in the news cycle. [00:38:20] Well, not these days. [00:38:21] It's like drinking from a fire hose. [00:38:25] Those stories continue to come true. [00:38:27] I want to talk to you about what you think might be the biggest story of the year, even though we're not done yet. [00:38:31] Could drop between now and when the ball does. [00:38:34] Plus, I want to hear from you on predictions. [00:38:37] 888727-BECK is the number. [00:38:42] And we continue. [00:38:43] We're joined by Harmeet Dillon with one of the biggest stories of the year after this on the Glenn Beck Program. [00:38:49] To folks hanging on... [00:39:08] And I want to get to you on the phones at 888727BECK. [00:39:12] And maybe even a prediction for next year. [00:39:16] One of the stories that just dropped is, or Trump's tax returns. [00:39:22] Oh, yeah, they finally got them, folks. [00:39:24] Don't you know? === Trump Tax Returns Released (15:30) === [00:39:26] They finally, this is it. [00:39:27] They're going to get them. [00:39:28] So they've released these, the Democrats in the House released these last minute on Friday before the end of the year. [00:39:35] You know, they say, you know, there's nothing in there. [00:39:37] There's nothing. [00:39:38] It's a big nothing burger, just like everything else. [00:39:42] But, you know, they finally got them again. [00:39:44] Here we go again. [00:39:44] So, of course, folks are combing through it right now, trying to figure out what, you know, if there's anything worth talking about in there, I will tell you that I, again, this is just like everything else in my book. [00:40:00] Don't hold your breath. [00:40:01] Let me just put it that way. [00:40:02] Another big story somebody mentioned over on Twitter at Mr.Justin Barkley on Twitter. [00:40:06] You can connect with me anywhere, justinbarklay.com if you want to connect. [00:40:11] Send me a message as well. [00:40:13] Your predictions, your big story. [00:40:14] But say, the rate on Mar-a-Lago. [00:40:18] Yeah. [00:40:19] Yeah. [00:40:19] But you know, this thing about this year, there's been story after story after story. [00:40:25] And I often say it's like drinking from a fire hose. [00:40:28] I mean that. [00:40:28] They come at you so fast and furious. [00:40:30] I think part of that is intentional. [00:40:32] They don't want us to be able to catch our breath and really think about, process what is happening. [00:40:39] Harmeet Dillon joins us right now with a big story. [00:40:41] In fact, a big win, a win for Trump, a win for justice in the January 6th committee rescinding that Trump subpoena. [00:40:49] Harmee, appreciate you joining us today. [00:40:52] Thanks for having me. [00:40:54] So give us the history. [00:40:55] Just brush us off on some of this. [00:40:57] Obviously, you've been an attorney for President Trump. [00:41:00] And in fact, you're also running to be the chair of the RNC. [00:41:03] We'll talk about that coming up here in just a little bit. [00:41:05] But just give us sort of the brush up on this story and the big win. [00:41:12] Well, sure. [00:41:12] So as we know, most of the last two years in the House has been dominated by this January 6th committee, which supposedly was to fact find for legislation, which is really the only legitimate purpose of a House hearing. [00:41:29] But in fact, they hired Hollywood producers and they had various breaks and interruptions and all this drama was basically a long extended ad for Democrats as to why. [00:41:40] Republicans should not win the 2022 election and President Trump should never be allowed to hold office again. [00:41:46] And so that was kind of the purpose of it. [00:41:49] And you would think that if that's the purpose of it and they really want to hold people accountable or what have you, they would actually subpoena the star witness pretty early on in the process. [00:41:59] Right. [00:42:00] That is a year and a half ago. [00:42:02] In fact, they didn't do that. [00:42:04] They dragged a lot of other folks through the VAT, including a lot of my colleagues at the Republican National Committee. [00:42:10] They had a lot of testimony. [00:42:11] And then after they produced the one piece of legislation out of this committee, the Electoral Count Act, then in late October, they issued a subpoena for President Trump. [00:42:24] And so President Trump's team hired my law firm, mainly my two partners on the East Coast, handled this case. [00:42:31] And we negotiated with them and said, hey, this subpoena is very overbroad. [00:42:37] And this is really not warranted by any proper purpose of Congress and so forth. [00:42:43] And so we weren't able to reach an agreement. [00:42:45] So we went and filed a lawsuit in federal court in Florida to quash the subpoena, to basically say that this subpoena is, as a matter of law, is illegitimate. [00:42:56] It's not properly issued. [00:42:57] It's over broad. [00:42:59] It also, most importantly, violates the separation of powers. [00:43:02] And in that, we were citing the fact that dating back to the beginning of our republic, former president or even current president has never been forced to testify in Congress. [00:43:14] Congress is a co-equal branch of our government. [00:43:17] And the executive branch has its own prerogatives. [00:43:20] And so we made that argument in court. [00:43:25] We served the House Democrats in the House committee in a prompt fashion. [00:43:31] And they chose not to issue in court. [00:43:35] They could have shown up and gotten a ruling from this federal court. [00:43:38] They could have moved to dismiss the case. [00:43:39] They could have defended their subpoena. [00:43:41] They could have, in other words, staked out their position. [00:43:44] But they didn't. [00:43:46] They let the year lapse without showing up in court to defend their subpoena. [00:43:51] And then they quietly withdrew the subpoena two evenings ago on Wednesday evening. [00:43:56] We got an email from the House saying, hey, by the way, that subpoena, don't worry about it. [00:44:00] We're withdrawing it. [00:44:01] So my takeaway from all of that is the whole thing was a made-for-TV charade. [00:44:08] They never actually wanted or thought they were going to get this testimony. [00:44:11] They knew that constitutionally it was infirm. [00:44:14] And, you know, they cost so many people millions of dollars to produce this report. [00:44:20] That is not a document that really, I think, holds legislative weight at all. [00:44:26] It's a political document, and that is a total abuse of process of Congress. [00:44:34] And so, you know, it ended up happily in this case, but all of my friends at the RNC and so many others who were spending their own money to come before this committee, you know, it was such a huge waste of resources all around. [00:44:48] Yeah, and part for the course for what they've been up to here. [00:44:53] It's the latest, but a big win. [00:44:56] And we move forward. [00:44:57] Part of that moving forward, as we've been looking back at the last year, but big stories and maybe predictions for the new year you're running to be the chair of the RNC right now. [00:45:08] I want to talk to you a little bit about that because, you know, folks are, you know, they're looking for change. [00:45:13] That's one of the things that we continue to hear about. [00:45:18] You are, you're talking about this. [00:45:21] What are you looking to do to change party leadership? [00:45:25] What do you want people to help you do with that? [00:45:27] And how would you like to make that happen? [00:45:31] Well, thank you. [00:45:32] So we've had the same chair, Rona Romney McDaniel, for six years at the RNC. [00:45:38] And she actually did not have a contested election at that point. [00:45:43] She was the chair of the Michigan GOP when President Trump was running in 2016. [00:45:49] And she helped deliver Michigan for him, famously invited him there many times. [00:45:54] And as a result, he did win that state. [00:45:58] And so she was rewarded for that by President Trump installing her as the chair of the RNC. [00:46:05] This is typical in our party structure. [00:46:09] But he's endorsed her several times after that. [00:46:12] And now she served six years. [00:46:14] And in those six years, we've lost the House, the Senate, and the White House. [00:46:18] And that's no one person's fault or specific policies that we can point to that are necessarily responsible for that. [00:46:29] But when you're the leader of a party and the party continues to sort of not win elections and the same policies are in place, we're not engaging in early voting, coaching of our state parties or training people on ballot harvesting and chasing ballots and ballot curing, which is what you have to do to compete with the Democrats, whether we like these laws or not. [00:46:51] And we don't like them at the Republican Party. [00:46:53] But until you can change those laws, you have to take advantage of them. [00:46:57] We have not been leading on that issue. [00:47:00] We are not motivating our voters to get out and vote, frankly, with our rhetoric or reference to our policies. [00:47:08] We're not drawing a sharp contrast between ourselves and the Democrats. [00:47:12] I think ever since dating back to the Russia collusion hoax, at the party, we've actually been letting the Democrats set the stage. [00:47:19] We've been letting them set the tone. [00:47:21] We've been constantly reacting to their propaganda and lies and bad policies. [00:47:29] And as a result, we have lost touch with our base. [00:47:33] Our base is not happy with us. [00:47:35] And that's what I hear as a media commentator and as a Republican activist who's also active on social media. [00:47:42] I hear from hundreds, if not thousands, of Republicans on a weekly basis what they think and what they'd like to see us doing better. [00:47:48] And, you know, it's not breaking through at the party level. [00:47:50] The party is very top-down. [00:47:52] And it has been that way since before Rana. [00:47:54] I would say, you know, there's been no contested leadership election in 12 years at the RNC. [00:47:59] So that's the background. [00:48:01] And what I would like to see change is we have 168 very qualified members of the RNC with a lot of different skills. [00:48:09] Some of us are good in communications. [00:48:11] Some of us are good in data. [00:48:12] Some of us are good in strategy, fundraising, you name it. [00:48:16] And so we immediately should be harnessing more of that energy. [00:48:19] We have to be competing with the Democrats to get our ballots into the ballot boxes as early as possible in the process and not emotionally appealing and, you know, putting out expensive ads that political consultants get their 15% cut on and just hoping that people will show up. [00:48:36] I mean, the Democrats had Katie Hobbs and John Fetterman and Joe Biden elected. [00:48:42] So I think that proves that you can get an absolute nothing burger elected if you have the mechanics to do that. [00:48:50] And we have good candidates. [00:48:51] We have better ideas. [00:48:52] We have better policies, but we don't have that infrastructure that the party should have been building all these years. [00:48:58] And so that's one thing I would do: better communications. [00:49:02] And, you know, overall, freshen up the party's image. [00:49:05] I think that that's needed for confidence of our voters. [00:49:09] And so many members of Congress and senators and even major donors have been calling me and saying, thank God somebody's stepping up for a change. [00:49:16] You know, we don't wish anything negative about the current incumbent. [00:49:23] It's just that if you have an organization that has been stagnant for some time, be it a corporation, be it a sports team, be it a political party, you have to have change. [00:49:34] And if our chair were to get the fourth term, she'd be the longest serving head of political party dating back, I think, over 150 years. [00:49:45] So you have to ask, do we have the results to merit that? [00:49:48] I don't think so. [00:49:50] You know, one of the things we hear in Michigan, where I'm based, is a lot about grassroots and getting the grassroots together, working with so-called establishment folks in there. [00:50:01] Grassroots wants to take back the party. [00:50:04] What does that look like? [00:50:06] And how do you get those two together? [00:50:08] And is that possible? [00:50:10] I think you really need them both in order to compete. [00:50:14] You know, somebody told me this the other day. [00:50:16] Great question. [00:50:17] What's a Democrat word for rhino? [00:50:20] There is none. [00:50:22] Exactly. [00:50:23] They don't have it. [00:50:26] So what's your answer to that? [00:50:28] I mean, how do we do that? [00:50:31] Well, look, I mean, you can't have the shareholders running the corporation directly if it's a public corporation. [00:50:37] There have to be some layers of management, and there have to be some professionals who are hired to do the work as well. [00:50:43] And so the question is, what do we have right now in the party? [00:50:47] I think we have, you know, I mean, you know, Rana was going into this election before I entered it with pretty much, you know, two-thirds of the members of the RNC saying, yeah, this is great. [00:50:57] Let's have two more years of this. [00:51:00] Okay, so what does that tell you when 100% from what I'm seeing of polls out there of the base of our party, of members who are contacting the members of the RNC, they're saying we want change. [00:51:11] Literally, I mean, that's every email I'm getting is saying we want change. [00:51:14] Nobody's saying, let's have two more years of the same. [00:51:16] And so we've lost touch with the grassroots of our party. [00:51:19] And that has, I don't want to bore your listeners with arcana of how people get elected to the RNC, but, you know, with myself, I'm in a four-year term. [00:51:28] So I got elected in 2020. [00:51:31] And, you know, I could do anything I want pretty much unless I'm recalled, which never happens for four years. [00:51:38] I could ignore the grassroots and I would never be held accountable for that. [00:51:41] And that's exactly the situation that we're in in the party. [00:51:45] And so the members of the RNC are not even elected directly by Republican voters. [00:51:50] Republican voters elect their state party. [00:51:54] And so I'm one of those people. [00:51:55] I'm in the state party as a delegate to the state party. [00:51:58] And then the state party delegates or precinct committeemen or however the structure is in the state, they elect the members of the RNC. [00:52:06] So what we are seeing around the country, interestingly, is those state parties are beginning to revolt. [00:52:11] And, you know, in some states, they're holding meetings. [00:52:13] They're asking for a vote of no confidence in the chair. [00:52:16] And they're asking for a change in leadership at the RNC. [00:52:19] And so that's actually been a pretty impactful. [00:52:21] And I've never seen that in all my years in Republican activism. [00:52:24] I've never seen that kind of revolt at that political grassroots level in the states. [00:52:30] And that's encouraging. [00:52:31] Do we have enough time to pull this off? [00:52:33] I certainly am picking up steam amongst members and calling them and spending most of my day on the phone convincing members as to our issues with respect to fundraising, with respect to. [00:52:44] Hang on one second, Army. [00:52:45] We got to take a quick break. [00:52:46] One more question for you when we come back about the next steps and what people can do to help. [00:52:50] Army Dylan joins us right now. [00:52:52] She, of course, running for chair of the RNC. [00:52:54] And the big news, the big story about President Trump, and of course, the subpoena dropped there in the House. [00:52:59] Back with more right after this, the Glenback program. [00:53:06] Yeah, we had it rough in Michigan, but it just was, it was all over. [00:53:09] That red wave was a bit of a red trickle in some ways, although we did get the House. [00:53:16] One of the things that I heard, particularly the day after the election, was the disparagement of the folks just feeling just like hopeless. [00:53:24] Some folks saying I'm never voting again. [00:53:26] Harmie Dillon with us right now, running for chair RC. [00:53:30] Let me ask you, what do you do to encourage folks to stay engaged in the process and make sure that they do make a difference? [00:53:38] Well, the first thing you do is be responsive to their demands by changing the leadership of the party. [00:53:43] You renew your commitment to our core principles and values, which we don't hear a lot. [00:53:47] We haven't heard a lot about over the last few years. [00:53:49] But hey, we have a party platform that lays out pretty detailed sort of principles and policies that we would like to see accomplished. [00:53:59] You encourage candidates to run who are consistent with those policies. [00:54:04] You get back in those communities. [00:54:06] Now, the chair has tried to reconnect with, or connect actually for the first time with some communities who haven't voted Republican by putting community centers in ethnic neighborhoods. [00:54:19] And that's sort of a step in the right direction, but you kind of only reach so many people that way. [00:54:25] I think we need to just really be having a commitment to some core principles that attract people of all different backgrounds. [00:54:35] And the more messengers we have of different backgrounds, young people, for example, is a huge category that our party has virtually ignored. [00:54:44] In fact, the fact that some of my friends are active in Turning Point USA and are supporting me for chair has led to a backlash against young Republicans, believe it or not. === Young Republicans Ignored (09:20) === [00:54:56] And so, which is crazy. [00:54:59] Those are the future voters. [00:55:00] Those are the ones who are most likely to vote Democrat. [00:55:03] And it is actually so inexpensive to reach those voters through the use of tactics like young social media influencers. [00:55:12] And the Democrats use them. [00:55:14] You've seen these goofy, goofy videos of these goofy, you know, left-wing people in the White House being this, you know, TikTok influencers and Instagram influencers. [00:55:25] When you compare the cost of having a stable of young communicators on your team compared to what we spend on advertising and direct mail and other old school garbage that isn't really working, it would be a game changer if we actually, instead of looking down on these young people who want to get involved and want to see some change in the party, how about if we involve them? [00:55:47] I love that. [00:55:48] That's so bad. [00:55:49] I love that idea of engaging these people because they are waking up. [00:55:53] We've got a lot of young folks that are very engaged and are waking up, and they are very concerned about the future of this country. [00:56:00] And I think there's a big movement happening. [00:56:03] So I appreciate the idea there. [00:56:05] Harmee Dylan, I want folks to, we got to wrap because I know you got to move, but so do we. [00:56:09] But where can folks find you online and connect? [00:56:14] Twitter, I'm at P-N-J-A-B-A-N. [00:56:18] My website for my campaign is Dylan, D-H-I-L-L-O-N-F-O-R-R-N-C.com. [00:56:25] And thank you for any support. [00:56:27] God bless. [00:56:28] Appreciate you being here with us today. [00:56:29] Harmee Dylan, we're back in just moments talking to you biggest stories of the year and predictions still yet to come for the new year. [00:56:36] Triple 8727 back. [00:56:38] You can join the Glenn Beck program next. [00:56:43] The Glenn Beck Program. [00:56:57] 888-727-BECK. [00:57:00] That's 888-727-BECK. [00:57:02] Justin Barkley in for Beck today. [00:57:04] On the Glenn Beck Program. [00:57:07] And I want to hear from you. [00:57:08] We give you a little bit of a time here at the end of the year, the last show of 2022. [00:57:14] And I'm in some ways, because it's Friday too, so in some ways, I'm handing the show over to you. [00:57:21] So I want to hear from you. [00:57:22] Biggest story of the year. [00:57:23] Maybe it's a story that didn't get the notice, the attention that it should have, but you believe. [00:57:29] Biggest story of the year. [00:57:31] Also looking for predictions coming from next year. [00:57:34] Any that you want to add? [00:57:36] It's hard to tell. [00:57:40] Anybody ask me all types of what's going to happen here? [00:57:42] What's going to happen there? [00:57:43] And I always say, I don't know. [00:57:46] I know God is on the throne, though. [00:57:48] And that's the only certainty I have these days. [00:57:53] In fact, I'm not even sure what this way says. [00:57:55] Merry Christmas. [00:57:56] Did you say happy new year? [00:57:57] What do you say during this time of year? [00:57:59] A lot of uncertainty this time of year. [00:58:00] Not really sure. [00:58:01] I'm not the only one. [00:58:02] In fact, I don't know if you saw this. [00:58:06] Guess it was a little bit before the break here last week. [00:58:10] Nancy Pelosi, also very unsure what to say. [00:58:13] Strong bipartisan I vote. [00:58:15] Yield back the balance of my time and wish everyone a happy, healthy, and safe new year. [00:58:22] Happy holidays. [00:58:23] Merry Christmas. [00:58:23] Happy Swansea. [00:58:24] Happy Hanukkah. [00:58:25] Whatever it is you celebrate. [00:58:27] Happy, happy Schwanza. [00:58:29] Merry Christmas. [00:58:30] Happy Swansea. [00:58:31] Happy Hanukkah. [00:58:32] Whatever it is you celebrate. [00:58:34] Happy Swansea, folks. [00:58:36] Maybe that's what we should stick with. [00:58:38] What day of Schwanza is it? [00:58:40] Does anyone know? [00:58:42] I'm not up on my Schwanza festivities, although maybe I'll see if I can look that up. [00:58:49] 88727BECK back. [00:58:52] Samuel in Virginia called earlier, trying to get him back on. [00:58:55] He said that biggest story of the year. [00:58:57] I tend to agree. [00:58:58] It's got to be some, maybe that border crisis in some way. [00:59:01] Samuel, but you also had a prediction, too, for us. [00:59:04] Yeah, so I was going to say that I think the border crisis probably is one of the biggest topics and storylines of this year. [00:59:15] Kind of like what Nikita Khrushchev of the Soviet Union said years ago that we'll take America from within without firing a shot. [00:59:24] That's kind of what's happening to America right now with the invasion at the border. [00:59:28] But I'd say my prediction, though, for 2023 is that we could potentially see a stock market crash likes which we've never seen. [00:59:37] And by the way, I like what you said. [00:59:39] God is on the throne, and he's watching over all of us. [00:59:43] So thank you. [00:59:44] Amen. [00:59:45] Thank you. [00:59:46] Thank you, brother. [00:59:46] I appreciate that. [00:59:48] Stock market crash bigger than the likes of anything you've ever seen, he said. [00:59:53] Write that down. [00:59:55] Maybe we revisit these here, come again next year and see if anybody. [01:00:03] I hope not, but boy, I tell you, the financial uncertainty. [01:00:08] That is a big theme for what we're seeing unfolding right now, but also on the horizon. [01:00:15] Kevin in Tennessee, 888727 Beck at 88727BECK. [01:00:21] Biggest story of the year and maybe a prediction. [01:00:24] Kevin, you're on the Glenn Beck program. [01:00:27] Good morning, Justin. [01:00:28] You're sitting in my hometown for 45 years, but I got out of there because I couldn't stand the politics of what's happening in Michigan. [01:00:36] You can vote Republican on your side and the other side takes over and then they win. [01:00:41] My biggest story for 2022 is how the Red Tsunami turned into just a trickle and they became way overconfident and they were infighting so much with McConnell, not backing senators and spending his money. [01:00:56] And he's part of the cabal up there that we need to get rid of. [01:01:00] And my prediction for 23 is going to be the same thing, that the Republicans will just turn right around and fall flat on their face because whenever they take charge, they don't know how to lead. [01:01:12] And you've got, and you see the fight already with McCarthy. [01:01:16] He's nothing but another Ryan. [01:01:18] So if we're sitting here looking at it now as Republicans, we're going to be shaking our heads and the disappointment is going to be even greater in 23 because they've proven in the past that they're just nothing but part of the swamp up there. [01:01:33] And I tell my friends this, Justin, this biblically, when Jesus died on the cross, the veil was ripped in the temple. [01:01:40] Well, when Trump walked in, he ripped that veil. [01:01:44] Well, everyone could see it, what's going on up there in Washington. [01:01:49] And it's just nothing but garbage pit. [01:01:52] And the American public can see it, but I just cannot believe that once they hit their knees and they weren't praying to God, they hit their knees, but now they got to get their faces pushed into the mud to really realize and wake up. [01:02:06] Like the last gentleman said, the border and the economy, the stock market, everything is tumbling. [01:02:13] But take a look at how they failed. [01:02:14] The Republicans failed in this last election. [01:02:18] They've got to change. [01:02:19] And I like this. [01:02:20] I like the gal you had on, Harmy. [01:02:23] Boy, I tell you what, that's what we need. [01:02:25] Get rid of McDonald or Daniel, whatever her name is. [01:02:28] And let's get some fresh young blood in there that wants to fight and let's get our country back again. [01:02:35] I don't know what it's going to take, but he's right. [01:02:39] God is on the throne, and that's the only thing we can really take faith in. [01:02:43] Justin, thank you for everything. [01:02:45] Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to your brother. [01:02:49] And happy Schwanza, Kevin. [01:02:52] Whatever that is. [01:02:57] I don't know. [01:02:57] I don't know what it is. [01:02:58] That was Nancy Pelosi's. [01:03:00] Sundays. [01:03:01] Merry Christmas. [01:03:02] Happy Schwanza. [01:03:04] Whatever it is you celebrate. [01:03:06] Yeah, whatever it is you celebrate. [01:03:08] Happy Schwanza. [01:03:12] I'm sorry that Kevin ran off so quickly. [01:03:15] My question was, because I think this is very important, but let me just pose this and you think about it too. [01:03:22] But what is he said? [01:03:24] Much of what's coming in the next year is much of what we've seen before. [01:03:29] Maybe some of it is going to get worse. [01:03:35] How bad does it have to get? [01:03:36] That was one of my questions the day after the election. [01:03:40] Was, you know, how bad does it have to get? [01:03:47] What do you need to see here? [01:03:49] You know, gas prices, everything, gas to groceries through the roof. [01:03:55] And you thought, I think folks tend maybe that was part of the issue with the red wave not really showing up in the ways that some thought it would. [01:04:07] You thought, oh, yeah, for sure. [01:04:09] I mean, this is this is this is so bad. [01:04:12] Things are so bad that there's just no way. === The Evil Truth Trio (02:30) === [01:04:16] There's no way that we're going to continue to elect Democrats. [01:04:20] Folks, I'm in Michigan. [01:04:23] All three. [01:04:25] I called them the evil truth. [01:04:29] But all three of those of the trio that the Michigan, the governor, the attorney general, and the secretary of state, all three were re-elected. [01:04:39] And in fact, in the district that I'm in, a Democrat got elected for the first time. [01:04:47] Was it ever? [01:04:49] Maybe, maybe ever, but in a long time in my congressional district. [01:04:57] How is this possible? [01:05:00] How bad does it have to get? [01:05:03] One of the things that I'll mention when you're talking about the big stories, and I said, hey, I don't even know if you want to talk about what the biggest stories are of 2022. [01:05:12] Maybe they're stories that we haven't heard yet or then we're not really paying close attention to. [01:05:16] And the reason I brought that up is that this Twitter stuff that we're hearing, the FBI and the Twitter files and all that. [01:05:22] I mean, if you're not familiar with it, Elon Musk buys Twitter and now is releasing detailed information, emails from behind the scenes that show and that basically reveal that our speculation. [01:05:40] They were censoring conservative voices. [01:05:43] They were deplatforming folks. [01:05:45] They were banning people. [01:05:47] They were shadow banning on accounts. [01:05:51] The Hunter Biden laptop story, they were causing that to not go out and, of course, make it out anywhere. [01:05:57] It's another issue, right? [01:05:59] Well, they were working, not only that, we were working behind the scenes with the government to make it happen, the FBI. [01:06:06] My question about this is, does the average person even know that this happened? [01:06:13] You go out of the street, you talk to a few people, you take a poll. [01:06:20] Do they know that any of this actually took place? [01:06:24] Are they hearing it? [01:06:27] If a tree falls in the woods, so to speak. [01:06:30] Well, if the story happens, but it's not getting covered anywhere else. [01:06:35] And I'm sure that the government, the FBI, whoever it is, I'm sure that they have nothing to do. [01:06:41] This thing that happened at Twitter was only at Twitter. [01:06:45] It wasn't happening at Facebook. === Does The Average Person Know? (09:24) === [01:06:46] Oh, come on. [01:06:48] You're a conspiracy theory. [01:06:50] You're a tinfoil hat wearing conspiracy theories. [01:06:52] Do you think it was happening there or anywhere else? [01:06:55] The networks are mainstream media newspapers, etc. [01:07:01] You know, you're spreading that dangerous disinformation. [01:07:06] But is anybody hearing these? [01:07:09] Of course, you are. [01:07:09] You're plugged in. [01:07:10] You want to hear these stories. [01:07:11] Talk radio big for that. [01:07:13] The podcast is streaming. [01:07:14] I think some of the word is getting out. [01:07:17] In fact, alternative media, you might call it becoming more and more powerful. [01:07:20] But yet, has it quite reached the tipping point for folks to wake up? [01:07:28] In other words, my question, how bad does it have to get? [01:07:31] More coming up. [01:08:25] It used to be this time of year, you'd have all these puff pieces and all this best of the year type thing, but they are working overtime. [01:08:33] News doesn't stop. [01:08:34] That's why we're here on, of course, the Blaze.com, where you get all these stories. [01:08:38] The story about this Andrew Tate guy. [01:08:39] And then this is, if you don't know who he is, you'll be hearing a lot about him, I'm sure, in the coming days. [01:08:46] Him and his brother are arrested in Romania. [01:08:47] This former ultimate fighter and a businessman, I guess. [01:08:52] And they say now alleging, the reports are, arrested in some sort of trafficking, human trafficking, sting. [01:08:59] And who knows what the truth on anything is anymore? [01:09:05] But there are folks on both sides of this, skeptical, and then yet people that are just, because he was such a controversial figure and at one point canceled on social media for saying the wrong things, you know, of course. [01:09:18] And then, and those folks are just absolutely ecstatic. [01:09:24] But it's just really strange to watch some of this and the proceedings now happening in a Romanian court. [01:09:29] They're trying to decide whether they're going to continue to detain him and his brother, Andrew Tate, and his brother for what, 30 days. [01:09:39] So we'll find out what that looks like. [01:09:42] Triple-8727, BECK, another big story. [01:09:44] And then to wrap up the year. [01:09:49] But before we do that, let me go to Jamie, who has some information. [01:09:51] We just found out that we are celebrating, I don't know, one of the days of Schwanza right now. [01:09:57] Schwanza, Nancy Pelosi, of course, making a point. [01:09:59] Happy Swanza, happy Hanukkah. [01:10:00] Happy Schwanza. [01:10:01] The happy Hanukkah. [01:10:03] What is Schwanza? [01:10:04] Wait, what? [01:10:05] Happy Christmas. [01:10:05] Happy Schwanza. [01:10:07] What is Schwanza? [01:10:09] And what day are we on right now? [01:10:10] I think Jamie may have some information for us on this. [01:10:13] Jamie and Virginia, what day of Schwanza are we on? [01:10:16] Well, happy Swanza, Justin. [01:10:18] It is the time we celebrate home food delivery services, also known as Swan Man. [01:10:26] Now, today is the fifth day of Schwanza, where we celebrate chicken and broccoli. [01:10:30] It's a healthy alternative saying as tomorrow is pork and black-eyed peas day. [01:10:35] Old Gary be commended for her Schwanza affirmation. [01:10:39] Nested in between Christmas and New Year's and just after festivist, it's widely forgotten. [01:10:44] Yeah, that's you know, good for her because, you know, some of these folks are marginalized that celebrate this day. [01:10:50] Jamie, I appreciate the phone call. [01:10:52] Thank you very much. [01:10:54] The guy that delivered the Schwan guy, right, that delivered the frozen food. [01:10:58] That's beautiful. [01:10:59] Jerry in Florida up next on the Glenn Beck program. [01:11:03] Jerry, what's the biggest story of the year and maybe a prediction for us? [01:11:07] Well, I think the FBI colluding with Twitter and Facebook and all the other tech giants to circumvent the First Amendment, that's got to be the biggest story. [01:11:18] I mean, if that's not trees, I'm just saying, I don't know what is. [01:11:21] As far as a prediction, and you can take this to the bank. [01:11:24] This isn't just a prediction. [01:11:26] This is what's going to happen. [01:11:27] The Republicans are going to have all kinds of hearings. [01:11:30] They're going to lay out everything that the FBI and the Democrats did. [01:11:35] And it's going to be, people will say there's no way these people aren't going to jail. [01:11:39] And then nothing will happen. [01:11:41] In fact, McConnell will try to get the people in the House arrested for even asking questions about this. [01:11:51] Jerry, I hate to say it, but I think you might be pretty accurate. [01:11:56] Might want to buy a lottery ticket or something today while you're at it, Jerry. [01:11:59] Jerry from Florida. [01:12:02] I knew you were going to say that, but this is just history. [01:12:05] This is going to be a great big dog and pony show. [01:12:07] Oh, and my prediction for 2024 is Biden is going to get rid of Harris and bring Federman in, and they'll get 106 million votes instead of the 80 million because the Democrats always double down. [01:12:21] Wow. [01:12:22] All right. [01:12:22] Well, thank you, my friend. [01:12:24] I appreciate it. [01:12:24] There you have it. [01:12:26] Jerry, going all in on predictions. [01:12:29] And by the way, I love doing this. [01:12:31] Maybe we'll revisit these next year if I'm at the honor of filling in again last show of the year, the Glenn Beck program. [01:12:39] Stay up today with all of it. [01:12:41] Theblaze.com and, of course, Glenn Beck.com. [01:12:43] You can get the podcast of each show and more wherever your podcasts are found, Glenn Beck.com. [01:12:50] Connect with me, JustinBarkley.com. [01:12:53] In for Glenn today, Barclay. [01:12:56] In for Beck on the Glenn Beck Program. [01:13:06] The Glenn Beck Program. [01:13:33] We gotta stand together. [01:13:34] It's the corresponding time to rise. [01:13:50] What you are about to hear is the fusion of entertainment and enlightenment. [01:13:56] This is the Glenn Back Program. [01:14:02] Yep, it's a happy, happy new year or Merry Christmas. [01:14:08] Or we could still say that. [01:14:10] Nancy Pelosi says, Schwanza, whatever you're celebrating. [01:14:14] Folks, we're putting the wraps on this year, the Glenn Back Program. [01:14:17] And of course, the honor of filling in for Glenn today. [01:14:20] I'm Justin Barkley. [01:14:20] We've got a great guest lined up for you. [01:14:23] Your phone calls as well. [01:14:24] So we're asking a couple of questions. [01:14:26] One, what's the biggest story of 2022, whether it's being talked about or not? [01:14:30] And two, what's your prediction for the next year? [01:14:32] Love to hear from you, Triple A, 727BECK, 888-727-BAC. [01:14:37] And joining us, General Michael Flynn on the Glenn Beck Program right after this. [01:14:43] And your calls, too. [01:14:58] Welcome back to the Glenn Beck Program. [01:15:00] By the way, my name's Justin Barkley. [01:15:02] Want to connect with me? [01:15:02] You can do that at JustinBarClay, B-A-R-C-L-A-Y.com. [01:15:08] The news doesn't take a break. [01:15:09] And of course, neither do we here. [01:15:11] And apparently, there is more. [01:15:14] Theblaze.com breaking on some of these big stories today. [01:15:18] Some of the biggest stories for 2022. [01:15:21] I'm asking you what you think they might have been. [01:15:23] And of course, do you have a prediction for the coming year? [01:15:25] We'll talk about those. [01:15:26] I've got more phone calls coming up. [01:15:27] General Michael Flynn joins us now on the Glenbag program. [01:15:31] General, thanks for joining us. [01:15:33] We really appreciate it. [01:15:35] Thanks for having me, Justin. [01:15:36] Appreciate it. [01:15:37] And happy new year to you and your audience. [01:15:40] Thank you, you two, General. [01:15:41] Let me ask you, I want to start with this. [01:15:43] Your background, I had a chance to hear you speak a couple of weeks back and talk about a few things. [01:15:48] You were talking with folks who are in media, alternative media, covering things. [01:15:54] And one of the things that you guys were talking about was discussing how you can verify when information is coming in. [01:16:02] And I think this is so important. [01:16:04] There are a couple of different reasons for it, but number one, there's so much out there. [01:16:09] How about the real disinformation? === War of Narratives and Disinformation (15:33) === [01:16:11] We hear that word and phrase thrown around so much. [01:16:15] But we're in the midst of a bit of a psychological operation, it feels like. [01:16:19] I know you've got background there. [01:16:22] You know, Glenn always tells us to do our own homework. [01:16:25] Well, how do you, when you do that, how do you know what to believe? [01:16:28] Who do you trust? [01:16:29] And how can you verify some of the questions? [01:16:32] I want to start with that. [01:16:34] Wow. [01:16:34] Well, you know, the first thing to do is to really understand where you're getting your information from. [01:16:41] And I think that a lot of people, you know, there's many, many millions, in fact, actually still just read the headlines. [01:16:48] They don't go any further than the first or second paragraph. [01:16:52] And they read their, usually their hometown news, so to speak, because people still want to understand. [01:16:59] You know, they want to know who's doing well in sports or who's, you know, what the obituaries are. [01:17:04] But there's so much information that is now available. [01:17:07] It's shows like this. [01:17:08] And some of the people that were in that audience that you and I met about a month or so ago, these, I call them the Indies, the independent podcasters that are out there that have really, really risen in the last couple of years, citizen journalism. [01:17:24] And what has happened is we have a mainstream media in the country that has really just been so bought off by the corporate world and they parrot, they continue to just parrot sort of this psychological operation that we are all finding ourselves within. [01:17:49] And it is truly a war of narratives. [01:17:51] And, you know, and if you want to more precisely define it, it's fifth generation warfare. [01:17:58] And it is a war of narratives. [01:17:59] And there are a lot of distractions. [01:18:03] And I would, you know, it's sort of distractionization, if you will, if that's a word. [01:18:07] And the idea about distracting the populace to believe something that is not necessarily true is a very real endeavor that's been done to the United States, particularly the U.S., over the last few years. [01:18:24] And we absolutely have a psychological operation being directed against the United States of America. [01:18:29] And that psychological operation is in the form of things like, you know, trust to science, right? [01:18:37] The phrase trust of science, danger to democracy. [01:18:41] You know, this person or this act is a danger to democracy. [01:18:45] When in fact what we're starting to see and what we're learning, especially as more brave, courageous whistleblowers or other doctors or other religious leaders or other, frankly, citizen leaders stand up and step up and then start to speak out, we're starting to see the truth really rise to the top, as it typically does. [01:19:09] And one of the phrases that I use, Justin, is that the truth fears no enemies. [01:19:13] And the truth will always come out. [01:19:16] And it's the whole issue. [01:19:18] If you tell the truth, you don't have to worry about the story if you have to tell the story again a month from now because it's going to be the same story. [01:19:27] Whereas a lie has to be constantly shaped and formed. [01:19:32] And that's what's been happening to the American people over the last few years. [01:19:37] And it's really a form of sort of hybrid, irregular, unrestricted warfare. [01:19:44] But at the end of the day, it's what I call fifth generation warfare. [01:19:49] And we, we, the people of the United States, we've been talked to as though and caused to have our neighbors as our enemies when our neighbors are not our enemies. [01:20:03] You know, it's not about Democrats and Republicans. [01:20:06] It's about the American way of life. [01:20:09] And there is a higher order of people, this sort of globalist elite crowd that does exist. [01:20:16] And they're very real. [01:20:16] And they're very public. [01:20:18] They're very in our face. [01:20:20] And they have every intent on destroying the fabric of the United States of America for their own means. [01:20:29] And I think that it's, you know, I think people have to really pay attention to what is happening. [01:20:34] And the idea about, you know, like I keep saying, going back to fifth generation warfare, you know, it's evolved from the sort of the overlap of all the different aspects of hybrid, irregular, unrestricted warfare. [01:20:48] And the Chinese wrote the book on unrestricted warfare. [01:20:52] And the idea is to affect the belief system of civilians in a civilized society. [01:20:59] So we just have to be cognizant of it. [01:21:01] We have to pay attention. [01:21:02] We have to do our own research and really, really be discerning as to what we're going to believe. [01:21:09] General Michael Flynn joins us right now. [01:21:11] You mentioned before, General 2, that when you're getting stories or you're hearing things from people and we're spreading, obviously this is one of the things that we wanted to do is to share the stories in a lot of ways that people won't hear anywhere else. [01:21:25] One of those stories is with Twitter right now. [01:21:28] What's happening inside? [01:21:29] What's been coming out? [01:21:30] The things that we have suspected for a while now Elon Musk is revealing inside of Twitter. [01:21:35] Not that he's anyone who should necessarily be celebrated in every way, but there is some things coming out on Twitter right now. [01:21:43] But my question is, people even got to hear these stories unless we share them with each other. [01:21:48] So that's a whole nother thing. [01:21:50] But when you're hearing even some of this stuff, you can hear it from a neighbor or friend or family member or somebody that you might trust. [01:21:57] How do you know if they've got the right and the real information? [01:22:01] What do you do there? [01:22:03] Well, first, Twitter and the Twitter files and all this stuff that's being exposed. [01:22:10] No one, no one that is breathing should be surprised about what we're learning about what was going on at Twitter. [01:22:19] And it's probably the same thing that's going on at Facebook and some of these other large social media woke corporations. [01:22:26] So nobody should be surprised. [01:22:29] The things that we are learning, and it's basically, again, it's kind of back to what I just said. [01:22:34] You know, we now want, as Americans, we want accountability. [01:22:42] So I appreciate what Elon Musk has done. [01:22:46] I would like to see him, he should hold accountable some of these people that were at Twitter, and he should bring, you know, if he has the ability to, you know, at least publicly shame them, he should, and he's doing some of that, and that's fine. [01:23:00] But we now need a person like Elon Musk, who has extraordinary influence, to start to demand from the U.S. government that they start to investigate what happened. [01:23:13] Because, you know, the one thing that we have now learned is that the Federal Bureau of Investigation, you know, our illustrious FBI and elements of our DOJ and then elements of our intelligence community, particularly retired, you know, heads of the Intel community, the Department of Defense, you know, the infamous, whatever it was, 51 that signed off on the letter saying that the Hunter Biden laptop was Russian misinformation. [01:23:43] I mean, we have now learned, excuse my Irish, but we've now learned that it's all. [01:23:48] And we've always known that. [01:23:49] I've known that. [01:23:50] The majority of people have always known it. [01:23:51] Now we have it for real. [01:23:53] There's no doubt it's black and white. [01:23:56] So now what we should be demanding is we should be demanding accountability. [01:24:01] And frankly, here's where we're at. [01:24:04] We are not going to see accountability by this Department of Justice under this administration. [01:24:12] We are not going to see ⁇ I don't want people to think, yep, they need to hold these people accountable. [01:24:17] You know, this is where, because we did go through a recent election and we do have a new House of Representatives, and maybe the Uniparty will suddenly wake up in Washington, D.C. and start to hold people accountable because the House, under new leadership, they can go after people. [01:24:38] They can call them all in. [01:24:39] I've been subpoenaed by the January 6th Unselect Committee. [01:24:45] I mean, they just released a litany of people who were subpoenaed yesterday. [01:24:49] So let's have a tit for cat, but let's hold people accountable. [01:24:54] Even if accountability is only publicly bringing these people in in front of cameras, I don't want any more behind-the-door nonsense. [01:25:05] The American people don't deserve this. [01:25:07] Those people in Washington work for us. [01:25:10] This is a Republic form of government. [01:25:13] They work for us. [01:25:14] I want total transparency in everything that at least the House of Representatives is going to do because we know that the Senate is still controlled by the left. [01:25:24] And frankly, for somebody who, in terms of Twitter files, I mean, yeah, great. [01:25:31] And I'm all for it. [01:25:32] And I guarantee more stuff is going to come out, and it's ugly. [01:25:35] But we just had, I think it was, what, 16 Republican senators sign off on a $1.7 trillion dollar. [01:25:42] I mean, they call it the ominous bill, the ominous bill, not the ominous bill. [01:25:46] That's going to destroy our economy. [01:25:48] That's the next nail in the economic coffin of America. [01:25:51] And now we're at about $110 billion from my account to money, U.S. taxpayer dollars going over to Ukraine. [01:26:01] And trust me, folks, Ukraine is one of the biggest distractions going on right now. [01:26:06] Talk about a war of narratives and a war of distractions and fifth generation warfare. [01:26:10] Distract over here with this potential war and a potential for nuclear war in Eastern Europe, which we have no business being part of. [01:26:18] And yet we've got an invasion going on on our southern border. [01:26:22] We have a chemical war in the form of fentanyl that is killing people across this country. [01:26:28] And we have a biological war because we're about to have China send us over another China virus. [01:26:35] And we know it. [01:26:37] It's being talked about already. [01:26:39] So to take a step back and to take a deep breath, the American people need to understand that the leadership in Washington, D.C. is inept, incompetent, and corrupt. [01:26:52] And we are not going to get any more answers out of the people in Washington, D.C. General Michael Flynn. [01:26:58] Got to take a quick break, but I want to, because you're on a roll, so I hate to stop you, but we've got to take a quick break. [01:27:05] We come back. [01:27:05] I want to actually just mention about the January 6th committee. [01:27:08] You had to go in front of the unselect committee. [01:27:11] We just heard some interesting news. [01:27:13] Some things that just broke. [01:27:14] I just read, came out about an hour ago. [01:27:16] Some people were looking through some of the documents. [01:27:19] I want to get your take on some of that. [01:27:21] And of course, more as we continue our conversation. [01:27:24] General Michael Flynn in with us right now. [01:27:26] And for back today on the Glenn Beck program, right back after this. [01:27:39] General Michael Flynn is back with us now on the Glenn Beck program. [01:27:43] Justin Barclay in for Glenn Today and the last and final show of the year. [01:27:48] General Flynn, I just read this on Twitter. [01:27:51] I want to get your take on this. [01:27:53] It's from Sean at Davis at the Federalist. [01:27:56] The tweet, on the afternoon of January 6th, Ray Epps texted his nephew about the events at the Capitol. [01:28:03] I was in the front with a few others, he said. [01:28:05] I also orchestrated it. [01:28:07] We've got this at part of the interview, I guess, that was done and the deposition here. [01:28:13] What is your take on that? [01:28:14] We never really heard much about who this Ray Epps guy was. [01:28:18] And, you know, a lot of folks have been pretty silent on this. [01:28:22] Imagine this is something that we ought to know more about. [01:28:25] Sean says, we wonder why he was never charged and why he's the only person whom Kinzinger and Cheney will defend. [01:28:33] What's your take on that? [01:28:34] Oh, there's others that they'll defend too. [01:28:36] So my take on this entire thing for January 6th is this is a complete and total setup. [01:28:41] And there are so many people that I've spoken to over the last couple of years that were there that day. [01:28:48] And I've seen videos and I've seen pictures and photos of, like a lot of Americans have seen, of people being escorted in by cops, of thugs dressed in black and masked up and agitating. [01:29:04] These are things that are easily put together, easily organized in terms of, when you know you're going to have a big crowd, all you got to do is have a small group of well-trained, well-organized agitators, and you get them in there and you do certain things and then you allow for others to be part of it. [01:29:23] And a guy like Epps is one. [01:29:25] And there's a few others who have yet to see the inside of a cell. [01:29:30] And yet we have people sitting in prison still. [01:29:35] And many of them haven't even seen a judge yet or haven't been charged properly yet. [01:29:39] So I'm not going to take away from anybody that broke a window or went inside and did some stupid thing inside and damaged property or whatever like that. [01:29:48] So, I mean, some of that stuff happened. [01:29:51] But this entire thing is a setup. [01:29:54] And I think that once, if the House, if the House of Representatives, the new House of Representatives, when they take over, if they have the guts, and we'll see if they have the guts. [01:30:04] I'm not sure if we have the right people in there. [01:30:06] But if they have the guts, then maybe they'll take responsibility and they'll really start to dig into that. [01:30:12] And they'll tie it to the 2020 elections rigging of the 2020 election. [01:30:17] They'll tie it to The way that the FBI and the DOJ, because I don't want to just blame the FBI, because the FBI is a subordinate of the DOJ, but how the FBI and parts of the DOJ help to manipulate the misinformation prior to the 2020 election in order to rig the elections. [01:30:35] I mean, I joke about this, and I don't mean to joke about it because it's very serious, but when I talk to groups of people, I always ask, you know, how many of you have or bought a Build Back Better Baseball hat at Christmastime for your family, right? [01:30:50] If 81 million people voted for this guy, then there should be at least 40 million baseball hats out there. [01:30:57] I mean, let's just give it, there's nobody buying, there's nobody buying better baseball hats or Build Back Better bumper stickers or t-shirts because it doesn't exist. [01:31:06] It was all fake. [01:31:08] And the guy that's in the White House, I call him Uncle Joe. [01:31:11] You know, he is a really, I mean, we can say what we want in terms of the constitutional process that got Biden and Harris into the White House. [01:31:22] But now we know through the Twitter files, now we know that the entire thing was a setup and the 2020 election was rigged. [01:31:31] So who's going to hold anybody's feet to the fire? [01:31:35] General do that. [01:31:36] It's supposed to be an independent Department of Justice. [01:31:38] And frankly, right now, Justin, we don't have that. [01:31:41] General, I don't know if you've got the time to hang. === People Are The Plan (07:38) === [01:31:44] Can you hang after the break for a few minutes? [01:31:46] We got one more question, and folks are asking maybe a little hope and encouragement. [01:31:50] If you can, we'll keep you through the break. [01:31:52] Does that work for you? [01:31:54] Sounds good. [01:31:55] Okay, General Michael Flynn with us, and he's kind of on a roll. [01:31:58] General, some people listening thinking you maybe ought to run for something. [01:32:04] I appreciate you taking the time to be with us today. [01:32:06] We're continuing this conversation, of course, biggest stories of 2022. [01:32:10] We'll talk to you about that as well coming up. [01:32:13] And the predictions for 2023, the general's already made a few of his own. [01:32:18] But one of the questions that I'd like to hear is: what do you do now? [01:32:26] And we often hear this phrase, trust the plan. [01:32:33] And his name comes up around this quite a bit. [01:32:37] So, do you trust the plan? [01:32:41] What does the general say? [01:32:42] Back after this. [01:32:44] The Glenn Beck Program. [01:33:03] Natalie, we have a little bit of breaking news here. [01:33:05] A suspect has been arrested in the murder of the four students there in Idaho. [01:33:12] 25-year-old suspect in custody after being arrested in Pennsylvania. [01:33:18] Yes, Scranton, a man in his mid-20s, arrested by police and the FBI around 3 a.m. [01:33:26] Suspect appeared in court this morning, reportedly a college student, but did not attend University of Idaho. [01:33:31] And there's sparse on the details now, but continue to keep you updated. [01:33:36] Checktheblace.com for the latest. [01:33:39] Barkley and for Beck Today in the Glenbeck program, General Michael Flynn. [01:33:43] We continue our conversations. [01:33:44] He joins us now on the Glenbeck program. [01:33:47] General, you've been a wealth of insight, and we really appreciate you for joining us today and talking about some of the different things that you've shared with us. [01:33:55] One of the questions folks are wondering is this question of one of the phrases that we hear quite often, which is, you know, trust the plan. [01:34:04] Is there a plan? [01:34:06] And should we trust it? [01:34:08] I've heard you talk about this before, and I thought maybe it'd be a good idea to have you explain it. [01:34:13] Yeah, so before I forget, I just want to say to you, Justin, thanks for having me on, and to you and the entire Glen Beck audience. [01:34:22] I wish everybody a really happy 2023. [01:34:26] Now, in this issue of trust the plan, there's a lot of noise out there from a lot of these independent podcasters and a lot of people in social media that talk about this trust the plan. [01:34:40] You know what the plan is, Justin? [01:34:42] It's you and I on this show today talking about what America is, you know, what's good about America, what is great about America, and what do we need to do about the kinds of things that we are facing. [01:34:53] That's the plan. [01:34:54] The people of this country are the plan. [01:34:56] The people of this country have always been the plan. [01:34:58] The founders of this country designed this country from the bottom up. [01:35:03] And it's always about involvement, citizen involvement. [01:35:06] That's the plan. [01:35:07] All this nonsense that you hear from people about, well, there's a plan and Trump is in charge and the military's in charge. [01:35:13] It's all nonsense. [01:35:14] It's all BS. [01:35:16] If that were the case, if there were some miraculous thing that was going to happen, why would we allow our country, so whoever wrote that stupid plan and whoever talks about it, why would we allow our country to be, I mean, just utterly destroyed economically, financially, physically with this invasion of our southern border? [01:35:39] I mean, there's so many things that are happening to this country in the last two years alone. [01:35:46] And so if there was a plan, boy, it's a really, you know, I don't want to use any foul language on your show, but it's a lousy plan. [01:35:54] So as far as I'm concerned, I'm the plan. [01:35:58] You're the plan. [01:35:59] The people of this country are the plan. [01:36:00] And I tell people, stand up, step up, and speak up and get involved in your communities like you've never been involved in them before. [01:36:08] You know, the plan, the plan is for is for moms, principally women, who have children and are trying to raise children, and they're getting involved in this in this madness of critical race theory being taught in our schools, or this idea of transgender studies in elementary school, or this idea of allowing children to make decisions about abortions in this country, still, [01:36:33] even though the Supreme Court finally ruled after 50 years that it was a state's rights issue and people need to be thinking about it. [01:36:41] I mean, it's all these aspects of who we are that people need to understand. [01:36:46] And so, you know, we have to sort of stop hiding behind this mask of political psychosis that we find that is just totally consuming us. [01:36:56] And, you know, we are a principled nation. [01:36:59] We're a structured nation. [01:37:00] We still have elements of the rule of law. [01:37:03] It doesn't feel that way coming out of Washington, D.C. [01:37:07] I want people to really cherish the fact that we have local law enforcement still in our country. [01:37:13] We're the only country on the planet that has that. [01:37:16] So I want people to understand that it's you and I and how we take control of our lives and how we get involved in our communities at the local level. [01:37:31] And I use the phrase, local action equals a national impact. [01:37:35] But now is the time. [01:37:38] I'm actually, I feel blessed to be alive right now during this very historic time in our country. [01:37:45] I have been through five lifetimes in the last five years, you know, with all of the madness that I have gone through. [01:37:52] But I'm still standing here. [01:37:54] And I'm still standing here because of principally because of a couple of things. [01:37:57] But number one is my faith. [01:37:59] And number two is the strength of my family. [01:38:02] And those are the two things that I will continue to fight for when I, you know, sort of move out smartly and go forward in life. [01:38:13] And I think that that's what I want people, your listeners, to do. [01:38:16] And as we go into the year 2023, this is going to be a very, very exciting year. [01:38:21] And we have the American people, for all the listeners that are in politics, that are in some office right now, state or federal office, for all of those that are listening to this show, trust me, the American people have high expectations and you better perform. [01:38:37] So again, I just want to say to you, Justin, and to Glenn and to your audience, I wish everybody a happy new year and Godspeed. [01:38:46] General Michael Flynn, thank you for taking the time, General. [01:38:49] We appreciate your courage and thank you for sharing with us today. [01:38:56] Where can folks keep up with you? [01:38:58] General, I know that, listen, Twitter's back, Elon's back, and I saw somebody actually mention you earlier to say, hey, please restore the general. [01:39:05] Where can people stay in touch with you if they'd like to stay in touch? [01:39:08] Yeah, please, please. [01:39:09] Jeff, they can go to generalflynn.com, generalflynn.com. [01:39:13] And my latest bestseller, national bestseller, is the Citizen's Guide to Fifth Generation Warfare, Introduction to 5GW. === Uniquely Prepared for This Moment (04:27) === [01:39:22] And people can go to generalflynn.com and purchase a copy there, and they can help me out as well as learn a lot about what we're going through. [01:39:32] General Flynn, thank you, sir. [01:39:33] Appreciate you. [01:39:34] God bless. [01:39:35] Yep, see ya. [01:39:39] It is a hard, sometimes it is hard to hear the truth, right? [01:39:44] But a couple of weeks back when I saw the general speak, sometimes the truth just, it just, oh, man. [01:39:53] Even though it's tough to hear, it is refreshing. [01:39:57] It's like an ice-cold sip of water on a hot summer day, especially in the desert of truth that we're wading through these days. [01:40:11] But I heard the general comment, and I heard particularly that bit that he mentioned about the truth. [01:40:17] And I immediately, when I came back, I shared with some folks in my audience. [01:40:23] I said, look, I got some things to tell you. [01:40:25] There are a lot of folks, and I hear these questions, trust the plan, and this is going to happen. [01:40:31] I see and hear everything because people send it all to me, and I appreciate that. [01:40:34] And one of the things I try to do, though, is use a bit of discernment. [01:40:37] Yes, there's experience and the wisdom and things like that, but a bit of discernment. [01:40:44] That's just part of my faith, but to try and understand what's true and what is not. [01:40:50] And when I heard him talk, and particularly say, look, there is no plan. [01:40:56] You got your popcorn and all that. [01:40:57] This is designed to make you sit on the couch and not be participants and active in what has to happen in order to turn the tide here in this country. [01:41:08] And we need you. [01:41:09] You are the plan. [01:41:10] In fact, the founders, as he just mentioned, the founders made you the plan. [01:41:18] In fact, I believe God has a plan. [01:41:24] And you and I and everyone else are part of it. [01:41:31] We are called to walk in whatever capacity that it is that we are uniquely designed, created to walk in. [01:41:50] The question is, will we? [01:41:53] You know, each one of us has our own set of gifts. [01:41:55] We each have our own set of Special skills, maybe experiences that we've developed or gone through through life that prepared us for this very moment. [01:42:06] You and I have been uniquely prepared and called for this very moment. [01:42:15] And as he just pointed out, General Michael Flint just pointed out, I think, a very good, a great way to look at things here. [01:42:23] Maybe, I know, I know that, gosh, you look at things and you certainly don't get excited, but maybe we ought to get excited that we are here for such a time as this. [01:42:41] That we have the opportunity to show up at this moment in this nation's history at this moment in time and walk out through our faith, whatever it is that we might be called to do. [01:42:56] Now, I know that is easier said than done, but I pray that God would give me you and the rest of us the courage to do it. [01:43:14] Back in just a moment. [01:43:15] Barkley and Forbeck on the Glenback program. [01:43:18] The Glenn Beck Program. [01:43:19] Mark Land for back today in the Glenn Beck Program. [01:43:40] What an honor it is to always be able to spend time with you. [01:43:44] The best audience I think that there is. [01:43:46] And I got to be honest, some of the smartest. === Predictions for the New Year (05:20) === [01:43:50] So that's why I thought we'd wrap it today with some of these predictions for the new year and then maybe the biggest story of 2022. [01:43:58] Your thoughts on that. [01:43:59] I got an email. [01:43:59] By the way, you want to send me a message or we can just connect either way. [01:44:02] JustinBarklay, B-A-R-C-L-A-Y.com, JustinBarklay.com. [01:44:09] Great place for us to do that. [01:44:10] We're now hearing breaking news on the story out of the Idaho, the suspect, and the college kid Slate. [01:44:17] They've arrested a suspect. [01:44:19] They're going to have a news conference, press conference this afternoon, 1 p.m. Pacific, the latest on that. [01:44:24] Stickwiththeblaze.com for the details. [01:44:27] But Jason says, the biggest story not reported of the year is the assault on the trucking industry, specifically the independent trucker. [01:44:33] California passed their law ending lease purchase contracts, pushing drivers to either leave the state, find a company position, or pay higher costs to buy a truck outright. [01:44:43] Soaring diesel costs. [01:44:45] California banning the purchase of diesel vehicles by 2035. [01:44:48] The FMCSA announcing they will be announcing rules on speed limiters on trucks in June or July. [01:44:55] And my prediction is once speed limiters are introduced, the fabricated driver shortage will actually come true. [01:45:03] Happy Schwanza, Jason says. [01:45:07] Hey, by the way, nothing sounds happy about any of that. [01:45:12] All right, Diane, appreciate you holding. [01:45:15] Thank you so much, Diane. [01:45:16] But I think you've got probably one of the biggest stories of the year, too. [01:45:20] And I wanted to make sure that we got you on. [01:45:22] Diane in Oregon, you're on the Glen Beck program. [01:45:25] Thank you so much. [01:45:26] I'm so excited to talk to you. [01:45:29] Yes, the overturn of Roe versus Wade is the biggest, the biggest issue of the decade, I believe. [01:45:39] And my prediction is more of a need. [01:45:42] We need after-abortion care for post-abortive men and women. [01:45:47] There are 64 million babies lost. [01:45:50] They go to heaven. [01:45:52] But the men and the women are stuck with an unresolved, complicated grief because they are intimately involved with the loss of their children by choice. [01:46:08] One of the things that is not widely known is pregnancy resource centers often do after abortion care in the form of Bible studies and just walking alongside the women in their grief and their loss by choice. [01:46:27] And with 64 million babies lost, that's 128 million moms and dads. [01:46:35] And then there's 60% of those abortions are coerced. [01:46:42] That's how many of those 14-year-olds were taken by grandma and granddad who are looking back over their lives and saying, my God, what did I do? [01:46:54] You know, I can't imagine. [01:46:56] I pray for those folks. [01:46:57] Diane, you make a really powerful point. [01:47:01] I know folks that are dealing with that, but through their faith and through some of those ministries, they've been able to get some healing. [01:47:09] And I appreciate your call this morning. [01:47:11] I think that's something that we all need to keep an eye on, particularly moving forward. [01:47:17] But great, great points. [01:47:19] Garrett in Texas, predictions for the new year and biggest story of the year. [01:47:24] Garrett, you're on the Glen Buck program. [01:47:26] I'm actually in Minnesota, but it's okay. [01:47:29] We kind of look like Texas. [01:47:30] We're a smaller boot, though. [01:47:31] But anyways. [01:47:32] Nope. [01:47:35] Anyways, no, I think I predict that the Republicans will grow some kahunas and cut the spending that Joe Biden's outrageously the $1.7 trillion bill that they just passed before. [01:47:53] And, yeah, I mean, they need to definitely, I predict that they're going to grow some kahunazo and put an end to it because that's just outrageous. [01:48:01] Garrett, thanks for the call. [01:48:03] Tom and Missouri, we'll go to him next. [01:48:05] Biggest story of the year, Tom. [01:48:06] What do you think? [01:48:09] Well, actually, I got two. [01:48:11] Give me one because we got 30 seconds. [01:48:14] All right. [01:48:14] Well, okay. [01:48:15] So I would say that voter suppression and cheating going on, just like the Arizona governor thing, there's mounds of evidence, but yet it seems like nobody wants to listen. [01:48:27] Anything anything going to come out of that, you think? [01:48:31] You know what? [01:48:32] I'm not sure. [01:48:33] And I predict this next year that if we don't get new leadership, nothing's going to change. [01:48:39] Appreciate the call, my friend. [01:48:41] Thank you so much. [01:48:41] Always an honor and a pleasure. [01:48:43] I got to tell you, this audience is amazing. [01:48:46] I always just cherish this. [01:48:48] Thanks to the folks back in Dallas who make it look and sound so easy. [01:48:52] Appreciate you as always. [01:48:54] Always on top of things. [01:48:55] Splimback, back soon. [01:48:57] Stand by next week, I think. [01:48:59] So always a pleasure, folks. [01:49:00] Justin Barkley, connect with me at JustinBarklay, B-A-R-C-L-A-Y.com. [01:49:05] I'm at Mr.Justin Barkley on Twitter and all those places as well. [01:49:09] Happy New Year and God bless.
